Unit 4A, The Brewery, Waterloo Rd, Romford RM1 1AU, Mpwapwa
Stylish, modern chain dining room with Pan-Asian cooking stations and global banquet options.
Variety of food. The feel factor of an all inclusive holiday. Tin of sardines with the table segregation. Pay before you eat and drink. Lad who served my drink, thought my cider would taste better by throwing it all over me.Geezer who changed one of the hot plates with food on it, done me solid by dripping all the food fat all over my white trainers.Overall, I wish I didnt go!
I should explain the rating as well. We arrived around 8.20pm on a Sunday evening & were told that the counters will be closed in 40 minutes, that was okay with us. We travelled a long distance with kids & were extremely hungry & didnt plan to spend hours there. As soon as we paid & went in the queue, we found quite a few popular dishes were finished already (well before the closing time). When my husband inquired further saying its not 9 yet, one of the staff quite arrogantly said go & talk to the manager. My husband got angry, then the manager came back & magically more supplies reappeared. Apart from that one person, the rest of them were polite. It was super busy, bowls were not available & they did close not only the live counters but even the chocolate fountain at nine & even the restrooms were closed. If l ever plan to visit again, l definitely will not do it late. I couldnt taste many of the dishes, which l could, they tasted okay.Update - again visited another Sunday really early, around 6 & we got all the options in abundance. Hence improved the rating one star.
The food was decent overall, they had a vast variety of foods, with a very generous amount desserts. The atmosphere was very busy & the layout/decor of the restaurant was very nice. But BEWARE the queues are absolutely outrageous, Ive never at any point in my life seen anything like it, Its probably the equivalent of trying to get into a nightclub or concert. Possibly up to 2hrs wait time, so be prepared or book in advance.
Not the best but not the worst either.sushi selection quite dissapointing.the variety of dishes is ok.the tiramisu tasted funny.the toilets were pretty dirty and the layout is a bit confusing.the chairs are really comfy.overall not a place id want to come back to eat.
The food is amazing fresh and tasty the staff are so friendly I will definitely go there again...Good value for money xx
Really good customer service. First time at cosmos Romford but pleased with the service. Quickly seated and excellent selection of food. Would come again
Good service and atmosphere. Didnt have to wait long and booking the table was really easy. Enjoyed my time here and will return soon.
Always enjoyed Cosmo but tonight the food wasnt the same quality as usual. Wasnt busy, which was nice, but the toilets were disgusting! No toilet roll in either the mens or ladies and extremely dirty, especially the mens. This really let it down.
Lovely meal, enough time to spend with your loved ones, affordable, and staff are always helpful including if you are running late to your booking-Queue is also not bad if you havent made a booking less than 7mins wait.
Amazing steaks, always fresh, nice atmosphere. The customer service was good, staff helpful.Would definetely recommend!!!
Lovely place to dine in, love coming here with friends and family. A great selection with cuisines. Defo a place I’ll recommend
I went few times with friends and family. They only open 5hrs which is alright but their Dimsum section is always empty.I went on Friday around 7 and asked the guys why are you not refilling the Dimsum section and he arrogantly said “ we are doing anymore, come back tomorrow “. Seriously?I only go there for That specific section and always a disappointment.Curries and Thai rice are disaster. Won’t go again.
The place itself is nice-ish.The only problem I have with it is that I first visited a Cosmo back in Ireland and that place was simply impressive! In comparison to that place in Liffey valley Dublin, the Romford place just doesnt live up to the name!Overall, food was decent but staff were very hasty
Nothing more you could ask for, extremely helpful and friendly staff, insane selection, and all of the food I tried was really nice! If you go, you have to try to Singapore noodles! And definitely book before hand as its free and you can avoid a 1hour waiting time in a queue!
Karen the waitress! Spanish beauty and kindest soul. Was the finest example of what England is missing as customer service. The food was yum
Completely shady business practices. So having gone to cosmos many times in thr past few years, being in the area once again I decided to go there. We arrived without a reservation, luckily there was no queue at all, we were seated immediately. This is where the shady business practice starts. Our waiter asked us if we wanted drinks and we said bottomless drinks, and the buffet. He then mentions that if we were to write a quick review on Google, that we would be allowed a 15 percent off on our bills. When I asked the waiter, how will this work since you ask us to pay upfront, how can I actually write an honest review about the service or the food. His response, you can weite about the atmosphere, the scenery. When I mentioned him that this is completely illegal (as per google terms of conditionsthat if Google were to find out about this, they would have the right to remove all of the restaurants feedback that looks forced. The response from the waiter was, yes yes I know but this is how it is.So we simply refused to give a review. So I paid for the food and drinks, went to to get my food and after a few minutes or so I was back at my table. When I went to the bar and asked for glasses, I was told I should have been given glasses at my table.I given my table number and was told to show proof with receipt. Finally before we left, we went to the toilets and the toilets were absolutely dirty, and disgusting, two of the urinals you could not get close to due to there being so much fluid on the floor. And on top of this, you charge a 3 percent service charge, and write on the bill that we should give additional tips to the staff.I bet this 3 percent is not given to wait staff, and the management pockets it.I will be contacting Google about your get 15 percent off today and on your next visit forced review scheme.Good quality was as always excellent except for your desserts.(note to Management, please do not deny any of this, as I will post picture and video evidence if I have to)
Good food great choice but some dishes were empty. Had a birthday deal free dinner if its your birthday. My sons birthday showed his ID but realised when we left they didnt take the money off. Tried calling back last week several times no answer- shocking customer service! Only when they sent me an email about my experience that they sent me a voucher. If they offer deals they should make sure they are applied properly. Make sure you check your bill before you leave.
Great service with Karen. I am pregnant and she was really accommodating and looked after me and my partner very well. Shes an outstanding example of top notch customer service 👏🏽
I have not been Cosmo for years!!!! Guys, but it certainly worth it,if you have big eaters to take along 😉 😁.You have a variety of choice with the food, which was flavoursome and delicious 😋, its amazing the staff are amazing, I can go on,but I need you to try it for yourselves. Please experience Cosmo for yourselves, I dare you🤭🥳🤗😁.
Too crowded too noisy, some of the meats were over cooked. However varied choice of dishes which were hot if they were meant to be, cold if not , most were kept topped up, predominantly Chinese dishes with noodles. Prices were reasonable. Good selection of desserts. Staff constantly clearing up tables and floors ( the mess some people make...Not suitable for wheelchair bound persons as far as I could see, although there is a lift to a disabled toilet upstairs.
I’ve been in Cosmo once before, in Aberdeen, and it was really good. But in this branch it was just ok! The buffet was supposed to be open until 10 but they started cleaning and stopped refilling from 9 !!!8 October 2022
Did not book a table so had to wait to be seated.Good choice of meals for everyone.Found the puddings a bit sweet, but there is lots of variety. Love thecapple crumble and custard.
I would not recommend taking pre-teens and teens to this establishment (especially for birthday mealsbecause COSMOs have in place a policy where they determine whether children are eligible for child meal prices not by their age, as is customary, but by their height. If any children in your party are 155cm or taller they will be charged as adults. It is an unfair policy because tall(erchildren are still children; charging children well under the age of 16 as adults because of their height is a really cynical attempt to make a quick, extra buck, and rather cruel considering the very limited access to money most under 16s have. Its not like in amusement parks where such policies are instituted for legitimate safety concerns. The policy means that if you are an adult accompanying a group of similarly aged kids, say in the same year group, you might wind up in a rather incongruous situation where some of them are charged as adults and some as children. Be warned.
Visited last night, nothing special alot of different cuisine but very bland food. Would say very expensive for what your getting. I have visited various all you can eat World food restaurants and very very poor standards Compared to many more at that price
Great place to eat with friends and family. I’ve been here for over 6times and the meals are exceptional. You’d love it!
I visited Cosmo Romford on Sunday 18.9.22. The place was fully booked. I have enjoyed the noodles, the spicy chicken, fried mussels and its cheesecakes. Definitely went to get the cheesecakes twice!!! my first time in a Cosmo restaurant but I have experienced other buffets. I believe its a place for many of us to eat at a reasonable price.
It was great😊 but do not come late because you wont get to try all the foods and everything will be gone, ice cream melted and you also have to leave earlier than you expected if you do come late but it was a very nice experience, thank you COSMO
We come here almost every weekend and the food and customer service is always top notch. There is no long unnecessary queue or rude service. And the food quality is always what brings us back to the restaurant. Ill recommend this place to anyone
I was amazed at the diversity of the food on offer! It was an incredible range and fantastic value for money - and lovely staff! Thanks so much for a great day out!
Well presented beautiful buffet restaurant. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Many choices of delicious food. Great place for an evening out.
Food was ok, Indian selection was very bland, plates were still dirty when put out, I had a reservation for 8:30 pm arrived 10 mins early was seated by 8:35, food was being removed at 9:30 did not get enough time to try all dishes on offer. Staff were cleaning around food area and tables whilst we were trying to put food on our plate, and staff were spraying cleaning products on and around the food! Went for a birthday meal and was quite disappointed.
Honestly I was so hopeful this would be a great place to dine but it was awful unfortunately. This was our first time and certainly our last. I did not enjoy any of the meals they had to offer because it just did not taste good. I feel like because they want to offer so many different foods, they don’t make any of them specially well. It does not taste authentic and I felt like we wasted our money completely and it’s not the cheapest as well. We spent 18,50£ per adult. The only good thing was the bottomless drinks for 3,50£.Another big downside was that the food just wasn’t piping hot - more lukewarm. I’ve been to all you can eats where this was not a problem. Also, all rice and noodle dishes in the Asian section had fried egg in it - even the plain white rice. As someone who doesn’t eat Fried or cooked egg I didn’t have much choice to choose from.Cannot recommend this place unfortunately.
Has loads of seating, staff friendly and a good choice of food. Would be 5 stars if they had had ice cream and dumplings available but still very happy with the meal.
All you can eat with Whippy Ice cream and a chocolate fountain.... Whats not to like.Odd you cant book on the same day so if ore the website, just turn up and hope. Not too busy when we went and we were seated instantly. Food kept warm and replenishmed pretty quick. Great selection from around the world.Come and enjoy!
Mary Jane has been very friendly and helpful. We always come and dine in Cosmos Romford. The food is amazing and limitless. Tasty food. My children favourite place to eat with loads of varieties and a mixed of different taste....
Amazing place, amazing service, food fresh and well cooked for a buffet. Very nice variety, definitely children friendly. The drinks we had were amazing and consistently well done. Tried the passion fruit one. There were plenty of people and very busy but the service made the entire experience very nice. Will be visiting again! Thank you
I was looking forward to coming here with a group of friends. Though the customer service was great, the actual food was a big disappointment. Most the ‘hot dishes’ were actually cold or barely warm. I did not find a big enough variety for vegetarians/vegans either. Considering it is approx. £20 per person, the food was not to a good standard. The basics of keeping the food hot should be a priority.
I love this place. We dont come too often as we dont have the money but for occasions we are there. Back again on 9th July for my partners birthday and I cannot wait!! Loads to choose from here. Its absolutely brilliant for the kids, definitely wont hear "I dont like that" here. The ice cream machine and unlimited sweets are a firm fav. Definitely worth a visit!
The decor is nice, chairs padded and very comfortable. We were a table of 5 which they squeezed us onto a table of 4 even though we had booked well in advance, luckily we had a small one with us but if itd been 5 adults it would have been uncomfortable.First impression was the buffet area was smaller than I expected, though after having a good look around it had all the usual youd expect and was kept clean and tidy.We were one if the first sitting and headed up to the buffet quite quickly but all king prawn items were gone and not replenished in the 90mins we were there even though asking. Now I know this is an expensive item but it does state on the menu so expected. There was a cold prawn salad and even smoked salmon though. The Sunday carvery was okay, the beef and Gammon were juicy and tasty though the accompaniments were lack lustre. The teppanyaki didnt open until 40 mins into our sitting, but once open the only wait was for your food to be cooked. Choice of beef steak (very thinprawns, scallop and squid and you can pick a mix of 2.Large choice if deserts, fruit and icecream plus a chocolate fountain. The staff were friendly and helpful, removing dirty plates quickly and there when needed them but without being overbearing.Overall the food was okay, we had our fill and everyone left happy.. I would go there again but not in a hurry.
Nice restaurant with plenty of seating. You pay up front and then its all you can eat. The food was OK with plenty of choice although Im not convinced those who are gluten free or vegan are well catered for. This was my first experience of a buffet like this. Im not sure Im particularly comfortable about everything being shared. I saw people slipping on dropped food and it felt a bit like a school canteen. However, you get what you pay for and I would probably go again.
If you havent been to Cosmo, you havent lived!Buffet, lots of food and drink. It was a friends birthday and so we made a booking. Its a popular birthday spot as loads of other people had their birthdays too!Beautiful ambience!Friendly and helpful staff, always smiling!!The food was sooooo scrumptious and delightful!!!Sooo much variety.Lots to eat and drink. The ice cream machine and the chocolate fountain are simply an amazing bonus! A great hit with the kids and, of course, adults too!!!!Clean plates, cutlery, cups and bowlsThe best part? You get to eat! And eat!! And eat!!! Until you cant eat anymore. Then you eat some more!!!!It was such a beautiful experience. The adults loved it. The kids loved it. We would definitely be back!
Cosmo was okay when we visited. We didnt book a table and had to queue up. The wait to enter was not bad as we got there in the afternoon before 2 p.m. We were on the line for less than 15 minutes. The staff were friendly and welcoming with smiles on their faces so it was worth the wait. When we eventually sat down the service was great, although we still needed them to properly clean our table which we didnt mind. You have to pay before you can start eating which I believe is reasonable, especially seeing the number of people that come into the restaurant. The payment is taken at the table.Theres a variety of dishes to choose from so youll find everything you need.If you know me Im more inclined to favour seafood which they didnt have much of on the day we went. The pepper prawns were very popular so you had to stand at the station for them to bring out the next batch, this I learned after visiting the station 3 times. The sushi was too cold to enjoy and there werent many varieties to choose from so I didnt try it after trying one.The other dishes available were tasty so there was something for everyone. One of the downsides was the number of plates and cutlery available. The plates kept running out and they were not stocked quickly, you had to ask one of the workers about the plates. It felt like you were an inconvenience to them. Some plates came back not being washed properly so that put you off a bit, but I brushed it off seeing how much Ive paid for the food. The soft-serve ice cream 🍦 was so slow to dispense that you just gave up. There were cups of ice cream which was still good but not the best quality. The amenities were clean and great to use.I suggest that when you visit make sure to go there when youre hungry and make sure the children you take along are good and not fussy eaters unless youll be paying for food that they wouldnt eat.Overall the place was a good place to have lunch with the family and friends.Visited 19th March 2022
Indian section is nothing to shout about, chicken tikka was ok, rice ok tikka mushrooms? And chickpeas? Naan the man said to go away and come back in 10 mins (Rude( Not a great selection of Authentic North Indian dishes.Thai was also ok but no white rice to go with the curries??? Weird no sticky rice, no jasmin rice. Not sure what I was supposed to eat the curry with? Cocktails a bit on the small side. Prawns great and enjoyed ribs.
There is an array of food, you will be spoilt for choice. From lasagne to sushi, from chicken curry to octopus. Whatever turns your crank! My favourite was the sea food. I loved the prawns they were simply scrumptious. There is ample paid parking in the mall. And for £16 per person, it wont break the bank.
Delicious food in different varieties - Asian, Oriental and English cuisines mainly. I really enjoyed the food here. Buffet style dining so youre spoilt for choice. Theres seating available on two levels with lovely interiors. Its best to make a reservation before you arrive otherwise you face an hours wait at peak periods. Yep, the food is that good and the queue is long... Check it out!
Not the easiest restaurant to open during these times, but it was clean and organised. Staff were friendly and helpful, with a wide selection available. Desserts could have been more innovative and exciting perhaps, but it was a comfortable environment. Unlimited soft drinks are still available, although theyre now served by staff.
Very good variety of tasty food. Good value for money. Weve been there several times and was always animated and fairly busy. My favourite choice is the seafood grill. Good place for families. Even the most picky kids will find something for their taste. 👍
I visited Cosmo tonight many months after my last visit there is a small Change to the food layout with few nice new options including king Prawns and more sweet selection. my first interest is the Sushi but unfortunately the taste Was average with limited variety. The other food was good, and there is plenty to choose from. The indian selection was my winner tonight. The place is very popular I had to queue to get in & there was long queue still when I left, very helpful staff and efficient service Thank you for the nice experience.
Amazing food, amazing placeSpoilt for choiceGive it 3 and half stars only due to i didntlike the fact u have a 1 hour and half time limit in there, granted they wasnt totally using the policy but the mention of it made us feel uncomfortable towards the end, like we was being pushed out. I spent just over £150 for 4 of us this evening to then be asked to pay our bill early as we are past our time frame which then made us leave the rest of our deserts not being able to explore some more optionsWould love to go back but given the time you get i would think twice. Its not about how much food you can consume but how much family fun time you can haveBesides all that amazing food lovely friendly staff/waitresses.Nice place
For the price of £8.50 during lunch times, it wasn’t bad at all. However the place did have very limited choice of food items to choose from. The food was nice in terms of quality, customer service could’ve been more friendly and professional. Drink prices were competitive. May visit again.
