We had a lovely visit to this museum with our 2 year old. There were lots of interesting historical artefacts of farming and general living. Our little one particularly liked meeting the goats and searching for wooden chicks and kittens in the buildings. It was a fun way for us to spend an hour or so

Much Better than was expecting very fun and informative. Was quiet when we got thier so we had place to ourself and pretty much a private tour by the guide chap.

Superb place free entry but make a donation ppl council are meant to be shutting it . The guy mr flett that was thier very helpful great knowledge well set out place with old farm implants and housing for back in the day great piece of orcadian history that needs to be kept come on o.i.c and great orkney ice cream lemon curd was ace

Sister museum to Kirbuster, showing past Orkney farming life. Well worth visiting to experience how people lived a couple of hundred years ago.

Fantastic and well preserved museum showing what life was like back in the day for farming on Orkney. Friendly, welcoming staff have clearly looked after the site. Admission is free and you can support through donation or buying some tasty Orkney fudge on site. Toilets available too, great for a spare 20 minutes.

Well preserved and looked after croft houses and farming equipment. Very helpful and knowledgeable volunteers who maintain the houses and keep the peat fire going! Free to visit and has parking on site.

Free Entry, extensive and completely original farming building; equipment, and lifestyle objects. Great period atmosphete. Staff member Brian was very knowledgeable and friendly. Would reccomere to anyone coming to Orkney.

An interesting little farm museum. Lots of artifacts, both farm related and personal. A welcome peat fire was burning which brightened a rainy afternoon visit.Friendly knowledgeable staff made the visit very worthwhile.Free to enter, shuts for an hour at lunchtime.

Atmospheric wee place with lots of interesting displays, buildings to explore. Youll want to cosy up to the peat fire and soak up a little Mainland farm history. Staff extremely informative and friendly. N.B. The place shut for an hour at lunch time. Well worth a visit, rain or shine.

19th century farmstead with livestock. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, beautifully kept grounds. Car park, toilets, shop and picnic tables. Free admission.
