Learning the history of what it was like back in the days for submarines to our heros for keeping us safe and for letting us have the life we have today and living god bless our veterans and soldiers for keeping us safe
Very education and detailed location
We attended the Coronado historical associations Tuesday tour with our docent was Donna… She was so thorough, gave wonderful fun facts, answered all of our difficult questions as best as she could. I highly recommend this event… 5 Stars, Affordable on a budget.
Did a tour of the immediate area with one of the volunteers. Was an easy stroll and the guide was very kind to always find us shady spots to stand. Loved learning more about the history of the island and SD.
This historical association in Coronado is worth a visit!! They have the cutest museum with fascinating Coronado history, within.. They also conduct tours, have a great little gift shop with historic books and many other things.. I love this place!
Excellent food, new exhibits.
really good food great service
Always great food and service, year after year. Sitting outside is so wonderful.
I love it
Important historical information. The current exhibit is in regards to the brave Coronado wives of Vietnam War POWs who spoke out and created the movement of Letters to Hanoi, rallying for fair treatment in POW camps. While heartbreaking, it is a powerful testament to the women and families who stood strong in the midst of uncertainty and oppression. Some highlights include the support bracelet chandelier, a silver tea set with an engraved cup for each soldier and a comparison of Stockdales pilot jacket with the POW smock. There is also a small room with various new objects collected by archives. The museum is FREE and connected to a lovely lunch cafe with a good happy hour. Be sure to check out the Coronado Museum of History if you are in the area.
Interesting display about naval wives and role is speaking for POW/MIA in Vietnam
Amazing place for locals and visitors alike. The attached restaurant has some of the best breakfast food I’ve ever had. Amazing location, prices that are very reasonable, and a great staff. Plus the museum in the back of the restaurant is a nice surprise especially with visitors in town. Highly recommend.
Friendly staff. We picked up a map then spent 30 minutes viewing the POW/MIA Exhibit
Actually I went to Tent City to eat. Conveniently found the museum in the same building next door. Pretty cool.
Impressive story about the efforts of the spouses of Vietnam POWs to bring their husbands home. Additionally, it tells the story of one sailor who fell overboard, was imprisoned, returned with the first group of POWs, and remembered the names of 500 remaining prisoners.
I learned a lot from the “The League of Wives: Vietnams POW Allies & Advocates” exhibit. Very moving. My understanding is that this exhibit will run till March 2020.
This place made me appreciate our veterans a whole lot more. Dont let the ones who caught for our country, and were lost in battle be foregotten.
Cute way of remembering what a holiday destination did had been in the past.
Dropped our kids off for the "night at the museum" and they had a blast. Will definitely do it again!
Love Breakfast. We really enjoy the food and atmosphere.
One of the best and historical hotels in US...outstanding service
It is a Very small museum. It is free to visitor. The staff at the info desk has great info. It was quick look into the Coronado history. It is a nice stop during your walk along the Orange Ave or before after hit the beach.

Good review of tent city origin. Cool laundry wagon.
Small but well done museum. The docent at the info desk was super sweet and helpful.
We spent about 45 minutes there. I think I could be there for 3 hours at the museum. There is a lot to see and read. A long time resident of the area was very nice to us and told us a lot of things in the area. Her name was Carolyn. If you are visiting here, its a good place to start at the visitors center.
Very clean cute and free museum in beautiful coronado.
It was pretty interesting to read about the history of Coronado. Its free to get in, takes less than 30 minutes to move through.
Lots of great history
Nice place to learn some history of Coronado Island, one of my favorite places to visit!
Stop in. Interesting timeline on the wall of Coronado island history was my favorite part. Neat recordings of residents also. Marilyn Monroe section added a little sparkle too the exhibit. A good way to get background at no cost! A gift shop and coffee shop in same building but I didnt check that out. This is very near the Coronado Hotel, the other must see on the island in my opinion. Top the visit off with old movies where you can rest a minute and the whole family liked it!
Nice museum, little bit of history for you. Very nice.
I enjoyed the movie history displayed at this museum. The staff was very helpful with info about Coronado. Stop there on your first visit. Its not a big museum. Youll spend 1/2 hour at most but highly suggested for a first visit or if youve never been there.
Very nice little localMuseum
Perfect small museum just enough history while strolling along Orange ave.
Nice small museum of the islands history and its prominent family that you can walk through in 10-15 minutes. Located in a historic building. No charge and a donation box.We visited after eating in the bistro next door walking around the downtown area
Nice little local museum providing historical information of Coronado. Also had quite a few pamphlets of things to do. Good rest stop if youre taking a walk down the main streets.

A good stop when your visit Coronado, great historical information.
A nice place to take the kids in the morning. We had a great day planned and started it with the museum at first it was “boring” but by the end of the tour they wouldn’t shut up about random history facts. Good place to take the family and lots to do outside and many places to eat loved it.
Nice, small but interesting local museum.
It was amazing to learn about the history of the island. This place is a must stop on your trip.
An interesting free look into the history of Coronado. Well-kept and full of historic items and photos. Full tour takes 30 min - 1hr depending on how much you read.
What a beautiful place, I love walking there. Its free and clean. The flowers arrangements are simply breath taking.
A great treasure trove of info on Coronado "Island". Also, you can get a great coffee at Tent City. Park near and walk to over to the Hotel del Coronado after youve read about it.
