Great place, but be warned the road up to it, can be a bit much for most people it is a 4x4 or suv road unpaved and rocky and one lane up and down, if you meet on coming traffic someone will have to give way and back up to a turn out, Do not recommend when raining. Or going back down hairpin corners. View is Amazing

For not being very big it packed a lot of good information and fun gifts. The Ranger running the desk had good information and was very helpful. Definitely a park I would like to explore more.

Great view from top of Coranado Peak. But the drive up the dirt road to the parking lot is not for the squeamish. Especially if an auto is coming from the other direction. Not much room to move over. Drive slow!

Spectacular view, the drive up to Montezuma overlook is a little scary it’s a dirt narrow road. But so worth it. The tour center is a great place to learn about Coronado. I would not go on a bad weather day.

We drove up the (slightly terrifyingroad to the top of Montezuma’s Pass, then did the short but strenuous-enough walk to Coronado Peak. Excellent 360 degree view. The next day we went back and did the 1/2 mile hike to the cave and explored that. This was also strenuous-enough (one wordfor a couple of seniors, but the cave was well worth the effort. After the semi difficult entrance, we were rewarded with a deep but dry cave. The “rooms” were large and interesting and inside the cave was easy to manoeuvre

This park is amazing and totally worth the visit. I was hoping to see the cave, but the park ranger suggested not to without a real flashlight (not my iPhone). So I went hiking instead! From the top of Coronado peak on a good day you can see everything. It’s really interesting to see the border wall up close as well. I would recommend trying to do 3 miles of hiking as you get a cool unique pin. Ask the ranger about it!

We enjoyed visiting and taking in the natural beauty. We saw deer and a grey squirrel. A little cool breeze made it very comfortable for a little hike. The picnic areas are plentiful and well maintained. We had to stop by the Visitors center for a few souvenirs as well.

Right along the Mexican boarder is this gem of a park. After visiting the visitors center, there are many hiking opportunities. One we really enjoyed was the Coronado cave hike. The trail is well defined, and although the grade can be steep, it is not to bad for the 1.5 mile in. Once at the cave, you can crawl down in if you dare. Bring plenty of water.

Smallest outdoor natural National Park on Earth. This teeny little itsy bitsy National Park Service Park is very small but it is sweet if you are in the area. It is free you do not need a pass or to pay. There are four hiking trails bring lots of water and sunscreen and sunglasses and hats not really a great place to hike May June July August September not much shade on the trails. There is one trail that goes to Coronado cave you will need two flashlights per person it is a sweet little undeveloped cave. There is also a long hike from the parking lot up Joes Canyon trail which is really nice not in the summer. And there is a trail at the top of Montezuma pass that goes to the top of Coronado peak with really nice views of Old Mexico. Theres a wonderful picnic area at the bottom all paved roads flush toilets free no fee no reservation lots of shade and ramadas to keep the sun off your head. Not a place you would want to make a special trip to from out of town. But if you happen to be in Sierra Vista Hereford palominus Bisbee it is a nice little day diversion.

Beautiful! Drove the low sitting minivan on the dirt road up to top parking lot, no problem. Views and short hike (just under half mileto Montezumas overlook was really stunning. You can see a long black line -- its the wall between US and Mexico. Youll have beautiful views from the parking lot at the top of the dirt road, so dont worry if you dont feel like doing the .4 mile hike.

Beautiful views and some nice trails. Nice visitors center. Not as spectacular as some of the other national parks and monuments but definitely worth a visit. We came to the park from the west not realizing the road was all dirt, that was a bit of a drawback. Road from the east side is paved until shortly after the visitors center and the road up to Montezumas pass was a bit challenging but still glad we visited.

I didn’t expect much driving out here from Sierra vista but boy was I blown away. Starting from the visitor center I took the 5.3 km hike to Coronado peak. About a mile in I encountered a herd of about 9-10 javelina. I startled them and they fled but not before I got maybe ten neatest away. Then right at the peak I was getting some sun and a roadrunner came up to say hi. He sized me up for a minute before running around scavenging for food. All in all this is actually the most animal face time I’ve ever gotten on a hike. Would recommend and would go again.

An absolute must visit little park. Their restrooms and visitor center/bookstore are open with social distancing and limited occupancy. We saw Mexican Jays and deer from the visitor center.Be sure to take the drive to the top for the most beautiful views. It’s a short but steep hike to the top, but so worth it. You can see endlessly into Mexico. Unfortunately, you can also see where they have been dynamiting away the land (mountainsto build Trump’s border wall. The land there is ruined. We read an NPR article about the devastating effects on the local wildlife, including endangered wild cats. The road is dirt but absolutely doable in a regular passenger car.

Drove through Coronado and found it to be beautiful. There is a small visitor’s center and museum to explain, in part, the importance of the park. The ranger was very helpful about park questions. Around the visitor’s center are restrooms and a small ‘nature’ garden. Nearby is a picnic area.We drove to Montezuma’s Pass. Although motorcycles made it without issues (the drive does turn to gravel), the road can get narrow, rough, zig-zaggy, and steep. Not necessarily for those who do not like heights. At the top, Montezuma’s Pass, is a picnic area and a short trail to the top of Coronado Peak.Interestingly, visible are towers observing the border and the border itself between the US and MX.Although 17 miles, if you’re heading west, taking the Forest Service route down the west side of Montezuma’s Pass is interesting. It is all dirt, has a couple of washes and small, narrow bridges to cross. There is a point you can continue 40+ miles to Nogales or head north to Parker Lake. There it becomes a state route. The gravel portion is not the worst I’d ever been on being the Border Patrol frequents the road. The state route AZ-83 is paved, 35mph and understandably so.Good place to go.. Look to returning again.

Cool drive to the top (a bit scary but not horribleand the smaller hike allows you to see the border wall which was neat. We didnt do the hike to the border but I heard it was ok? I suggest if you are in the area! The hike with the cave was our favorite, please venture in the cave if you can, we walked in maybe a 1/20 of a mile work a cell phone light, super cool and not hard.

Hikes here are not too complicated. The overlook is beautiful. The cave hike is a little difficult and the cave itself has been vandalized and is pretty plain but it is still a fun adventure. Make sure you stop at the visitors center. They are very helpful and the displays are great. :)

Small national monument are so fun to visit. The Park Rangers here you fantastic, able to answer questions we have and offer information about the surrounding area. Great place to learn about the Spanish expeditions in the 1500s into New Spain. The hike to the cave is a must. Fairly moderate hike up the hill and a scramble down the cave entrance. A great place to bring kids.

This is kind of a hidden gem here in Cochise County. Its absolutely beautiful at the peak- watch the road though, its not for the inexperienced driver. Its one way to escape the heat in the summer, and take in the fresh mountain air in the spring. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely beautiful! About 1.5 mile hike to the top once you reach the parking lot, but well worth the mini heart attack on the way up. You forget you almost died halfway...especially when youre out of shape like myself. There is an ammo box up there, with a book inside to write your thoughts. Reading others stories and writing your own is such an awesome experience. The sunsets are even more breathtaking than the hike up.

We did not know what to expect here since they are closed due to the government shutdown. What we found was a beautiful, clean wonderland. Disappointed that the Visitor Center was closed but, you can still drive through and go out to the Montezuma Pass. And you can use the picnic area which was spotless clean. The drive out to the pass is on an unpaved road so you need an appropriate vehicle to drive a road with switchbacks and potholes all along the way. If you make it to the top you will be rewarded with amazing views and you can see the Mexico border. The picnic area is one of the best weve seen in a National Park. We had a Park Ranger stop to say hello. One of the nicest, most polite Rangers weve met. He was working without pay but, he said he did not mind as he loved what he was doing and would get paid with backpay sometime down the road. He told us some stories about the Illegals that come through the area and showed us some of the surveillance devices that are around. If you visit the this area make sure you take the drive here. Its only 5 miles off Hwy 92.

This was one of our favorite hikes while we were in Arizona. You will need a flash light for the cave, as it is very dark but well worth the hike. Make sure to take plenty of water with you and stop by the gift shop for some unique souvenirs or a hiking stick medallion.

Visited in early April. Loved hiking to the border monument. Much tougher hike (longer and more elevation changethan described by the ranger, but well worth the effort. Encountered an older, middle aged couple sitting on the bench where the Yaqui Ridge trail to the border branches off, and a young German guy sitting on the bench by the border monument at the bottom (who was nice enough to take our picture for us). Other than that we had the trail all to ourselves. Nothing but the sound of the wind, birds chirping, and the earth under our feet. Absolutely no shade, though, so bring a hat and plenty of water.

There is a lot to see and do here and it has one of the most beautiful locations of any of the parks...and theres no fee. You can hike a half mile to Coronado Cave, bring a flashlight and plenty of h20. Or drive up to Coronado Peak to get some breathtaking views, including being less than a mile away from the Mexican border. Well worth the trip!
