Good place to relax. Food is awesome, and the atmosphere is great.

This place is now called The Gateway Bar and Grill. The food wasnt bad, but bf said the Hamburger steak was absolutely made from a frozen patty. I tried ordering one of their specialty drinks, but they didnt have the ingredients. Would I return? No. But Im glad I tried it

It may be an ok place to shoot pool but it’s definitely not a good place to eat lunch. They originally told us their fryer was broken so we ordered cheeseburgers. They sent them out wrong 3 times!! The third time I just removed the lettuce and ate it. It wasn’t a hard order just ketchup, mustard, and pickles. Also they do not carry lemons for water or tea.

First time here and we had a great time. Went early and they had karaoke and a DJ. Got busy around 10p. Had great food, drinks were ok, but a little costly. DJ played good music and sang really good too.

I thought Saturday night was a little better then Friday night... Friday was shoulder to shoulder. But it was still a great time both nights, the environment was amazing... was definitely my kind of crowd!

The croud was okay but very unpleased with the staff and cleanliness of the establishment went to play pool and found a very big roach on the table. Use your own judgment but I was unpleased personally.

The barmaid was very professional and patient. The bathrooms were clean, there’s a great Professional size pool table in the back, plenty of seats, Great selection of drinks And the best part is on Tuesday nights there A beautiful young lady name Trisha who hosts DJ trivia And it’s so fun

Best place for Karaoke in Hickory. Great DJ/KJ Jerry. Great bartender as well. Small but very welcoming.

It was Saturday night. There was a live band playing & it was so loud you could hardly scream loud enough to give a bartender your order. You couldnt have any type of conversation while inside. The band set up in the front where the bar is. So everyone was packed around the front room causing it to be extremely hard to Just walk to & from the bar or in & out the front door. A 15-20 sec walk was made into a 5-7 min walk. Really it more like a push & shove than a walk. There were simply too many people packed inside this small space in my opinion.

Its not like when Paul had it. The atmosphere has changed. Drinks were no good. I got a mixed drink and it was terrible maybe the girl is new at bartending.

Great place to go, good food, adult beverages, pool tables, live music, especially love this place when DOESNT MADDER BAND is playing.

Caught it at the right time to meet the regulars loved the place. Will return. Have returned. Many times. A regular you might say. After a few visits I feel like Im home. Good food drinks and company all around.

Just opened back up under new OWNERSHIP! Completely different restaurant now. Hours have changed to 11:00 am to 2:00 am! Kitchen is open to close; Lunch specials Monday— Friday 11:00 a.m to 3:00 pm! Karaoke every Thursday, Bike Night on Friday’s with DJ, and live music every Saturday with NO COVER!Corner Pocket II Restaurant and Bar is open to the public and no membership is required.

Of all the places to go in Hickory to see bands, my favorite is here! Nice atmosphere, nice people, and good dance floor! The food has been good since new ownership took over as well.

Ive been going to CP for years. Treva has made some nice changes. There are 7 pool tables, 2 dart boards, as well as Karaoke and live music.

My experience at the Corner Pockets LL was a good one! Although having heard Problem-Child before their show there top notch! Service 5 Star!!Atmosphere really good!! Had really good time there! Recommend it ta every one!!

Like OMG this is the best place to hang out and have a few relaxing drinks or get a little turnt with your friends family friendly atmosphere drink specials are on on point the bartenders are beautiful the food is cooked to order theres hardly ever a wait at the bar live DJs live bands TVs for sports cornhole darts skill-based arcade games an outside smoking section excellent location right off of Highway 70, 321, and 40 defiantly and spot to stop threw any day of the week... see yall there

Good music Great food Friendly atmosphere. Pool tables are on point. They host League nights and have karaoke and live DJs. Regular drink specials and awesome Bartenders. The bar is not over crowded. Really a cool place to be any day of the week.

People getting served when they were too drunk to stand, then bartender bitching cause guys she had escorted out earlier came back and ran up tab and left. .place is a disaster. .best part was the band DICE that played that night oh and the guy that got choke slammed.

This place is a joke. I live nearby and after taking a 3 year hiatus from shooting pool I decided to start practicing again. Since this place was the closest to me, I decided to give it a shot. If I remember correctly, they have 5 tables. One decent looking table situated immediately inside the front door, right in the path of all incoming patrons, 2 Bar boxes back towards the back, and 2 ratty looking regulation tables in the very back. None of the tables appeared to be in good shape but the 2 tables in the back were absolutely terrible. The felt was matted and had nicks and scuffs all in it and the rail felt looked to be 30 years old. After asking the bar tender for a rack, I was informed that this was a private club and that they were not accepting any new members. If youre in the area, avoid this place. Randolph Billiards just 4 minutes up the road is a FAR better establishment.

First time I had been inside under new management as soon as me and my friend entered with CASH ON HAND and valid IDS they said it was a private club??? Said a $2 fee when we went to pay they said no new memberships even though the place was EMPTY. This is no way to run a business especially for hardworking folks who just wanna shoot a game or two of pool and have a cold beer... very disappointed will give another chance but if the same happens again I will ask why they dont post its a PRIVATE CLUB

Also called Pauls Paul Cooks a buffet every Sunday have a good singing crowd there drinking crowd shuffleboard crowd pool crowd truly a great place to hang out and get drunk just dont give your phone number to any queers are the few of them hanging around call a cab if youre too drunk to drive because of police watch this way

Good food, nice music, Karaoke on Mondays with Jackie Townsand, live bands, People are friendly, nice smoking area, it is an all around cool place.

WHITES ONLY!! Thats what should be posted at the door. Being 6 hrs away from home. My coworkers and I decided to find a place to shoot pool. There wasnt much of a choice when this place was one of the only ones to pop up in maps. Not once did we think about the diversity of our crowd 2 Caucasians, 2 Hispanics, and 1 African American. We were greeted at the door with the most horrific look any human being could give another. As the waitress stumbled on a good excuse of why we couldnt be in there. She proceeded to tell us it was a "members only" establishment. After that she says its a $2 joining fee. No problem we all said. Granted we were just getting off an 11hr work shift. Before we could get the money out of our wallets, she walks to the back. An older gentleman (look like the cookcomes from the back. As we are still standing at the door, the guy looks at us and says "member only and were not accepting new members". I cant seem to understand the previous reviews of this place. I felt like time had went back 70 Yrs or so.....

Its under new manager great place and great food and live music on weekends and karaoke on Monday nights come in and check us out no member ship need just ID!!!!
