Core Museológico Favaios, Bread and Wine - Museum in Vila Real, Portugal
Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were hoping to taste/buy some bread which is exhibited in the museum but it wasn’t available. The tasting of moscatel was very nice at the end of visit.
Terrific start to a tour of Favaios. Wine making and bread making origins are explained. Small but excellent in information!
The best place to learn about the story of wine production in the region.
Great experience detailing the history of this wine making area and its unique wine and also the famous bread from this town.
Well informative museum of Favaios wine and the village bread. Helpful staff speaking English, too. At the museum you could sniff different aromas of Favaios in its procedure of maturing, a new experience for me. I hope many people would find this lovely museum in this old village at the middle of moscatel wine yards. When visiting it there was a photo exhition, too.
Vale a pena ir.A visita é rápida, pois o espaço é pequeno.
Very informative. We enjoyed it. The wine is excellent and the bread was worth the short walk. Theres a very nice lookout if you follow the trail to the church on top of hill in town. You can also drive there.
So quaint and personal. An intimate experience with an authentic Portuguese bread maker...and DELICIOUS BREAD!!!
Lovely venue. Vineyard local food and wine.
Grape,grapes serenity
Very good 👍 tour and meal. Host was hilarious.
A 1000-inhabitant village has come together to create its own future with this beautiful museum dedicated to Bread and Wine. The displays are intuitive and interactive and explain the major parts and processes involved. The local guides doing tours are superb and quite proud of their home town. Well done!
Small compete Museum as a Museum should be for two products❤️💙
A quaint museum that tells the story of wine and bread making in Favaios.
Enjoyed watching the dough being shaped into the four-cornered loaves then tasting the finished product. Great to learn about the Co-operative and its aim to keep the community thriving.
Nice museum and from the balcony there is an awesome view of the hillsides and vineyards.
Excellent food wine staff thank you for making this a wonderful experience in Portugal
Small but interesting with lovely views from 1st floor rear balcony
A small piece of ancient tradition.
Wonderful place to visit
Fascinating museum. Well worth a visit.
Small museum, limited to bread and wine.
Best place for wines to visit
Such a lovely tour to learn about wine and bread making in the region. The tour guides are great and the whole set up is well thought out. I recommend a visit if youre in the area. Lovely view of the vineyard from the balcony. All the locals contribute with a video starring the kids of the village.
Delightful
Very cute experience
Exploring the history of the area’s wine and bread production gave a much better understanding to the lives of the people in the town. The nice man who showed us around was very helpful and the view from the back balcony was stunning.
The definitive place to learn about the typically regional wine and bread produced in the town of Favaios.
Fun and interesting
Stopping at a roadside restaurant without checking the reviews can be risky....but we were hungry after traveling through the Duro Valley. The food, service and of course the wine were all very good. The views from the deck were great. Definitely stop and enjoy a nice leisurely lunch on the river.
We discovered this museum through a private tour of the Douro Valley, and were pleasantly surprised at this gem! Very well done museum, with English translations on all of the displays. This would be a great stop for tourists interested in learning about the production of Port wine, prior to winery or port cellar tours. Photos are from second story balcony, where we enjoyed a private wine tasting.
Museum and tour were well done. Part of a great small town Portugal experience.
