I am not one to typically write reviews, but my stay at Coral Lodge was so beyond amazing that I feel inclined to write this. Not only was the location gorgeous, and the facilities & bungalows beautiful, and the food delicious, but what REALLY made my stay were the staff. I was alone at Coral Lodge for a mini-vacation during a work trip, and the staff were so friendly, welcoming, and generous. Would it be silly for one person to dine alone next to a bonfire on the beach? Of course! But they offered it nonetheless. Did they need to pack me a lunch the day I left because Id be driving for hours back to Nampula? No! But they did. Staff taught me bao, and spoke to me about their families, and living in Mozambique. I feel touched to have met them and fortunate to have spent some time at Coral Lodge. I only wish I could have stayed longer!

Booked through Expedia.For the amount of money someone expects the best of the best equipment etc. and it should not be run down. At a lower price this would all be no issue but thus our expectations have been enormously high. The owners need to invest and refurbish quite a bit if they like to continue with the current pricing.The team and staff have been most wonderful and kudos to them trying everything to make our stay pleasant.

Great place! Incredible rooms, and Great service. Truly a Five star experience. Perfect place an escape from the big city, or just an vacation. Private beach access too, you actually dont have to leave your bungalow for your whole stay, if you Dont want to!

Amazing hotel Good food.

We enjoyed our stay at Coral Lodge..The food was great..we had some nice food with siriri (typical local vegetable)..The manager Beto was super kind and helpful...The dogs were cute..and niceThe view is awesome..The price is not cheap...but they deliver value for what they charge...we will definetly go back.

Nice place

I spent 6 nights here from September 25 2020.The location is superb. It rests on a small peninsula, with the sea on one side and a laguna on the other, and crossed by a mangrove chsbel. Theres a large tidal zone with a deep natural pool at the end of a small channel. At low tide you have to walk around 600 mts to get to the sea. At high tide you get it at your door.The colors of the water and sand and rocks are just stunning. With the sails of the dhows, it makes it photo perfect.The facility matches the beauty of the place.The huts are exquisite, with a beautiful decor.The staff is excellent, very professional and very friendly.The food (we chose mostly the seafood optionis equally excelent, cooked by two young chefs trained on site by professional chefs brought from somewhere else; their teachers should be proud of their students. You have to ask for smaller portions if you care about your waist line.You must be ok with pets. There were 6 friendly dogs and a cat on site. They love to interact with the guests.Besides walks to both sides of the beach, and some swimming and snorkeling at the chanel natural pool (lots of fish, some surprisingly big, even at low tide), there are a few special activities organized by the management or outsourced from the island - sailing cruises, powered sea safaris when the whales are around, boating tours along the mangrove chanels, up to the local village with a walking tour of the village, from where most of the staff is recruited and trained on site.There are also kayaks, but its difficult to kayak in the chanel because of the tidal currents. So better to use them at the sea.Theres also a moderate size infinity pool, but I prefer the chanel natural pool.Finally the managers are also extremely nice.At the end of our stay we got one of the most beautiful farewells one can think of.So, if you want a beautiful and historical place to spend some beach days in Moçambique, Coral Lodge is a highly recommended option, perhaps complemented by a few nights at one of the beautiful lodges at the actual Island of Mozambique.

Was awesome trip... beautifull place

Lovely place, beautifully situated. Unfortunately the service was almost as bad as the location is beautiful. We were made to feel quite unwelcome and really had to sit it out, until somebody finally condescended to take our order. The food was alright, but nothing special.

Fui com os meus amigos, para a praia próxima ao Lodge e sem haver opções de restauração fomos ao hotel para ver se almoçamos lá... percebemos que só seria possível ter uma refeição se tivéssemos feito uma reserva...Por não sermos hóspedes sentimos que fomos ignorados e mal atendidos. Caros gerentes se voces nao querem que pessoas de fora "comuns" não entrem nas vossas instalações que coloquem uma placa "Just guests " porque a maneira como fomos atendidos foi péssima e sinceramente o vosso Lodge está " overrated" e depois nao tem nada de especial.

This is Paradise on earth. The lodge is upmarket very expensive. We visit the lodge coming from the Mozambique Island (another paradiseand traveling by Dhow. The sea water is clear and warm.The young couple that are managing the resort are very friendly. The sea food, the best I have tasted. Unrealistic huge prawns.

Hanno un comportamento sia con i clienti che con lo staff molto amichevole e cordiale, infatti le persone si sentono come in famiglia. La gestione sia dei lodge che del ristorante è da 5 stelle. Il cuoco è bravissimo e prepara piatti sublimi. Sono due giorni che siamo tornati e ci mancano tutti.

Coral Lodge is the best place to stay in Chocas. Located in a beautiful place - where a river meets the Indian sea, the hotel provides amazing accommodation with great infrastructure. The food is also superb. If I happen to go back to Mozambique, I will definitely spend some days there.

It was my 3rd time here and, unfortunately, the prices just went crazy.

Perfect place if youre looking for a quiet and hidden place to stay in Chocas.

Communicating with management prior to arrival was a clear indicator of how great our stay would be at Coral Lodge! The entire team, from security to management, has made our time at Coral Lodge spectacular. We only got to spend a few short days here, but we are walking away with new friends and a new love for the surrounding community.If you are looking for a place to unwind, relax, and be blown away by the food, you must stay at Coral Lodge; it is worth every penny.

Awsome place

If you want secluded luxury with fantastic views and food, this is it. The rooms are huge, private and very well furnished. Considering the location, which is extremely beautiful overlooking Ilha de Moçambique, they have done a superb job with this place.

Awesome place for a true getaway in Sep 13. Wish I was there now.
