New Orleans-based chain offering a lengthy menu of Cajun-Creole classics, plus signature drinks.
Service was slow and server hasn’t been trained on drinks or the menu. Food was extremely over salted.
The food was delicious and the service was great nice dark setting mildly crowed nice atmosphere
Ms. Marie was very helpful to my Mother who visited Copelands for the first time and was very friendly! My Mom enjoyed her visit!
We tried it on a whim. Disposable menus, limited selection. Our well meaning wait person had never tried the crab cakes and shrimp but I ordered them anyway. They were fried but were covered in Alfredo sauce! Tasty but nothing special. The "gulf shrimp" on the meal were tiny popcorn shrimp. A few, certainly less than a dozen. (See pictures of meal)She had the crawfish ravioli and enjoyed it. She also ordered a glass of prosecco wine. Eventually it came well after her meal. 4 oz for $12!This place has no beer on tap😳Bottle beer is limited to watery yellow beers. No Bock, stout, or other dark beers.Buying an entree does not get you a soup, salad, or any type of side dish. Chintzy😡
It was Gramblings graduation day so needless to say, Copelands got pretty busy rather quickly. However, our server, Marie handled herself very well...and my blackened salmon was good as well.
very good place to eat, especially if you like new Orleans dishes. Service was great and a very nice looking classy restaurant. I encourage you to give it a try.
Stood at the front and watched the hostess walk around looking for a table for 30 min meanwhile about 7 other parties walked in. She was obviously sick or tired. Got seated and ordered our food. They brought out the plastic utensil condiment pack. I spend 18.00 on a plate to eat with a plastic fork. Used to be a pretty good place. Even the menus are terrible. They are just a piece of paper not like the ones previously. Copeland has definitely taken a severe turn for the worse. Our waiter was good!
The food was excellent and our server,Marie, was top-notch. Wonderful dining experience.
I was passing through Louisiana and I decided I wanted a spicy chicken sandwich for lunch and the Google recommended Copelands. Everyone was dressed in black and white, with long black aprons, and masked up. The place looked very fancy and I was worried about being under dressed so I sat in the bar and watched sports news on the TV. I decided to have the Jazzy Wings appetizer which was oily but delicious, it came with ranch & celery sticks. I could have and should have made that my whole meal. The chicken sandwich came on a croissant lightly breaded and fried with a few tomato slices, spicy mayo, a dab of coleslaw. Long story short it is a messy sandwich and you are going to have to wash your hands after, but it was good.
This is the first time for us to eat at Copelands in Monroe. If I could I would give it more stars and would even double the amount of those stars for the server and cook!We decided to try something new for date night tonight and our experience was amazing. We were greeted by everyone as we entered and all the way to our table. We were immediately greeted by our server, Marie, as we sat down. She let us know who she was and was coming right back to serve us, which she did.Marie’s service was the best service we’ve ever received. She made some personal suggestions to enhance our decisions for the things we ordered and she was on point. The appetizer was brought out immediately, as were our drinks. Marie was stealth! She brought refills for our drinks and cleared empty dishes without disturbing us. She was so very pleasant and professional! There’s no amount of tip that could reward her for her service. She was perfection! The food was amazing. My dad was raised on the Calcasieu River so seafood is our staple. The oysters were even better than his. They were moist and flavorful, but not mushy. The fried crust on the was golden and perfect. I ordered the Seafood Platter and it was amazing! The best I’ve had. It looked as good as it tasted. My husband had the Veal Copeland. The veal was so tender and the crust was perfection. The servings were large. We don’t usually bring a box home but we couldn’t leave these leftovers behind. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a NOLA flair. It was so clean and nice. The atmosphere is so relaxing and nice. Lots of laughter and happiness coming from all the guests. What a great date night! When we left we were sent off with goodbyes and pleasantries. The experience was amazing. This is a must-do if you are in the area, right on I-20. As my husband says, “A doer-againer !” We will be back and we will ask for Marie, but all the servers were friendly. Next time we will save room for those fabulous looking desserts.
The food here is incredible- minus the "steamed" broccoli, which is served pretty much raw. Just dont get the broccoli; the rest is great! Servers and host are pleasant and the restaurant is nice and clean. The music gets irritating quickly, but thats just a personal pet peeve of mine.
Fantastic food, Marie was an excellent server! She anticipated our needs and made our experience so pleasant. Great food and great service is a win win in this day and age!!
Service was a tad slow, but not so much to keep me from returning. Highly recommend the Crawfish bread appetizer. Its generous enough to be a meal for one. I dont recommend the crab & shrimp alfredo. It was disappointing compared to the crawfish bread. Bloody Mary was delicious & not too strong.
We had an amazing server tonight. Thank you so much Marie for the amazing dinner. The food was amazing!!!
I recommend the eggplant pirogue or the blackened salmon. Copelands also has amazing fried fish. So many great choices..Cant go wrong with the chicken parmesan...great food and a great atmosphere.
Marie was great! I got the shrimp poboy and it was amazing! Great service and food. Definitely recommend and i will be back!
Marie was the best server ever! The food was great, but the service was amazing. It was our first time at Copelands and we will be back.
Food was amazing. Had the seafood platter couldnt finish it there was so much food. Service was excellent. Very reasonable price.
Copelands such a fine restaurant. Really enjoyed my delicious meal and also enjoyed my waitress Brooke!! All my needs here was met. I can truly say I’m one satisfied customer. Will recommend eating here 10/10. Most definitely going back.
The service was awesome considering they are understaffed. But the food was another story it was old that is the best way I can describe . I order the shrimp it was so overcooked it was chewy..... So sad I have always loved the food there. My husband ordered a crab cake it had soured.... When they replaced it it was the same sour taste.
Their menu went way down and is not something Id try again. The waitress was okay and the food was just average really. It was comparable to a frozen dinner in my own opinion. I was not impressed and their Christmas tree was still up with no decorations. It was just not the place it used to be at all.
Good was good but a bit pricey. I was disappointed that they did not have king cake but the staff was very friendly.
One of the restaurants me or my wife has never eaten at till now. Now its one of our favorite places and the best to find authentic New Orleans dishes! We had a very friendly hostess and waiter that took care of us at night. The waiter was very attentive and never ran out of drinks or anything. Should I delete staff up there really took care of everybody. Even one of the chefs from the back came out it was asking people how the food was. Cant wait to go back!
Had a great meal with some wonderful new friends from work. Marie was an awesome waitress and took care of our every need. Will definitely come back and ask for her next time!
The food was great, I had the seafood beignets, the half po boy shrimp, and ceasar salad...with a hurricane. The atmosphere was good, not a pricey spot and the service was well managed. I will be going back there again.
Taz was awesome! And the food was more than ample portions and appetizing.
Did curbside via online ordering and was told it would be 30 min. I show up, only to sit outside for 10 min at the designated spot with no assistance. Called and she said We dont do curbside. You have to come inside. So I go in and they havent seen or prepared my order. So I wait another 10 min. Super small portions. Will not order from them again.
The food was good. We were seated and didnt receive or cutlery until I food had arrived and waited 5 minutes. The restaurant needs to be cleaned, and updated. The floor is chipped and missing tile. The booth seats were broken and the walls were dirty and splintered.
We ordered the Copelands burger and its a one of a kind!!!! Very very good! Never disappointed. The Mac & cheese was good too!! Drinks are always great & I tried the seasonal CHRISTMAS COOKIE cheesecake!! It was soo amazing!! I definitely recommend the Copelands burger and the Christmas cookie cheesecake or the king cake when inseason!
Marie made our experience fantastic! This was the best service I’ve had and I’ve been coming to Copeland’s for years! She was friendly, attentive, quick, and so very kind. She seemed to genuinely enjoy meeting us and made our dining experience one that we will remember. We will be back and will ask for her next time. Marie represented Copeland’s in an extraordinary way and we were thankful to be taken care of by her.
Our server Kevin was very helpful and asked the cook to fry my crab cakes crunchy, which added great texture to it being over pasta instead of being soggy.
Great food, & even better experience! I haven’t been to Copeland’s in a while and was unsure on what to order, but our server Kevin was very suggestive & helped explain the menu to me. Overall experience was above and beyond. Great place to bring the family! Next time I’m in west Monroe, I’ll definitely stop in and have some of that awesome Louisiana food!
I recently went to Copelands and had an excellent shrimp Po boy our server Marie was very kind and quick to answer questions I had. She refilled my drink quickly noticing when I wanted more one of the best servers Ive had cant wait to go back!😋
The drinks were amazing. The food however was not to my liking. The crab cakes were salty and extremely hard to chew. The waitress substituted them for garlic bread. I ordered a glass of red merlo and when transferring it to a chilled glass it had a bug in it. I was told it "looked like a fruit fly". Our waitress and the management on staff was very kind and did not charge me for the meal or wine. They constantly kept apologizing for the mishaps. I will try them again one day just not anytime soon.
Ive heard Copelands had some great food. So my first time there it was not good at all nothing I ordered was hot more like cold. The steak was nothing but fat. The shrimp and fish was cold . But the server was great. She was very professional. But you need new cooks when they send out cold food. One star was all I could and will give.
Very clean establishment. The staff is amazing and the food made from scratch! You can taste it! The food is always amazing here and fresh
Its been ages since we last visited Copelands. They had a location in Dallas which closed sometime in early 2000s. The menus has changed however, the food is still tasty, drinks were good and the service was excellent. It was good to taste the old cajun flavors 😋. The spicy blue crab claw was really good.. We could not try the desserts which they are famous for, hope to try it next time we are on I-20 in Monroe.
Its a bit pricey but when youre looking for premiumYou have to expect that. The crab cakes and shrimp Alfredo were spectacular, and the chicken wings were as large as could be.
I loved the brunch, it was delicious. Who would have thunk crawfish and eggs would go so well together! Their staff is amazing too, especially since I know COVID has wait staff stressed to the max. I appreciate yall and your positive attitudes!
This place is wonderful! And the food is so good !
So glad we made the drive to visit from TN! Everything we had was delicious. Service was great even though it was crazy busy! We did have to wait for a little while for a table, so prepare for that.
Great service, even better food, there wasnt a long wait for a Saturday afternoon!
When our appetizer came, we werent given plates. When we asked for plates, we werent given enough. Our drinks didnt come out until after we had finished our appetizer, salads, and had started our entrees. My husbands "medium well" filet didnt come out until after we were all mostly done eating and it was more rare than my medium rare filet. Our waters werent filled at all, which was unfortunate since we didnt have drinks. Our table piled up with plates throughout the meal, and we kept pushing them down since the server didnt take them. When my drink finally came, the server spilled it in my lap. I asked to speak with a manager, but when we told her all of this, she offered to recook the steak and fill our waters, but that was it. We were still charged for the uneaten steak and the drinks that were over half full when we left.
Road trip.. So off to Copeland’s I went. I’m from New Orleans so it better be good lol I ate in the bar section and the waitress did a really good job. Overall the food was good and had good presentation. The location was also clean and smelled good. It felt a bit warm inside but it’s a very hot today. Maybe they could have adjusted the ac to accommodate the heat outside. Good job and I would return to this location.
The atmosphere was nice and quiet and our waiter was great! The food was DELICIOUS! I had the fries catfish plate and there was so much food!! My hubs had the Crawfish etouffee and ate every bite! We had the Bananas Foster for dessert!
I couldn’t wait to get some REAL Copeland’s in Louisiana this trip and I have to say that I was s little disappointed. The food was good, but the service was slow and the place needs a remodel. With all the updates going on around it, The 35th Anniversary of Copeland’s should include a makeover.
Came at the right time. Got timely service and the food was really good. The one menu item I would suggest is the fried chicken, which was excellent.
Food was really delicious, but the service was not that great! It was completely empty and we were sitting there waiting on someone to take our order for about 15 minutes. She put in our order and then we finally got drinks with our appetizer. Then we sat and watched our server talk to the guy at the bar while someone else brought out our food and we had sat there without drink for a solid 30 minutes. Then she finally came back and brought our check and then was going to walk away. I had to flag her down, before she ran off from our table, to get refills and to-go boxes. She showed us her best service when she was bringing back the check and then was never to be seen again. Only reason Id go back is because the food was amazing. We will just make sure we get a different server!!
The appetizers are to die for. If you are visiting the area and want some good food this place is a must. I am biased because this area is my second home but if you have an opportunity to go...and dont...you are missing out. If you are in town and have no reason to go, MAKE ONE!! You will not be disappointed. Uncle Rah wouldnt lie to you.
We went on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed our food very much. Our server was very helpful with suggestions and explaining different choices. We had the Creole style cheesecake for dessert-it was good but would have been better if we had added toppings.
