Cook Out in Lynchburg

Food was good. Not sure if the cashier was new or in training but messed up our order several times. Food was slow to come out.

Never a complaint on the quality of their food, but the quantity has definitely gone down in the food trays.

I LOVE Cook-Out!! Just like any place and any person, there are items here that I may not necessarily prefer, BUT everything that Ive had tastes good. My favorites are the hotdog cook out style, the cheeseburger, the hush puppies, milkshakes (specifically anything with banana, cheesecake, caramel, chocolate chips, or peanut butter), grilled chicken sandwiches, and chicken wraps. Any time I go home or down south, I MUST stop at cookout, and its always been good, no matter the location. And they have cheerwine and chewy ice!!

There milkshakes years ago were creamy and delicious! Made with real milk and cream, so good! Not sure what happened but there flavorless now and taste like ice milk and watery. Wont ever go back !

Make sure your burgers are cooked done. Lately they arent cooked done enough. Possibly some people like half cooked hamburgers.

Their hamburgers are as DRY as the Seira desert and tough as saddle leather! if you dont mind eating leather hamburgers

I have been here many times and it has been delicious. Yesterday, however, the bun was very cold, the burger was overcooked and dried up and the sandwich had very little bbq sauce on it.

Wow! No this is exactly the food you would get at a "Cookout"...fast and friendly staff and only my son got a milkshake yet I was told it was so delicious...I may take a sip next time but I did eat enough calories already🤭

Quality has fallen terribly. The burgers used to be so good and super filling. Now the prices compared to the food are expensive for very little in the way of an actual meal. Big double cheddar style used to be The Thing. Now i could get more quality, better taste, and a thicker burger off McDonalds dollar menu

My families experience here was great! We went through the drive thru which moved quickly and the food was really good! I wasnt expecting it to be as good as it was. We will be back!

Last time I went the chicken I got was burnt and the drive thru part was lined up to the road. They need a different location so its not backed up to the intersection

Tonight when I went through the drive through I noticed the guy at the window give the lady in front of me my food. She checked it and gave it back, sure enough it was mine. (Don’t like the idea of someone else touching my foodI got my two wraps and checked them, they were fine. I got home and opened my shake to have gotten the complete wrong shake. This also isn’t the first time this has happened to me here and I’m honestly so tired of it. I want what I order because that’s what I ordered. I’m tired of getting stuck with other peoples food.

Best milkshakes, so quick, and the staff is so amazing, the lines might be long sometimes, but they move you along, theres only one downside I know and thats how outdated and hard to understand the intercom on the drive-thru is...otherwise still perfection, best milkshakes hands down

The food we ordered...hotdogs, corn dog and onion rings was like it was left from the day before and just heated up. Very disappointed.

Very quick service. Food is always delicious for a reasonable price. The trays are our go-to order. Very popular place with long drive through lines, but do not be deceived, the line moves very quickly! Milkshakes are soo great! I have not been dissatisfied in any of our visits.

Delicious burgers, but a thin patty. I enjoyed the thick creamy milkshake. Also the french fries were delicious, but very small portions.

The workers are very friendly.Food is ok the place needs to be more clean, tables, chairs,windows.especially the soda machine looks like they never clean it or desinfectedIts Full of dirt. I couldnt drink any of the drinks after I noticed how dirty it looks.

I ordered 2 BBQ trays with double orders of hush puppies and got chicken nuggets. Its A good thing I checked b4 I left the parking lot. I even repeated the order back to the person. Its like that several times I have been to this store. Its Ridiculous

There are dozens of places to eat in Lynchburg, sometimes they are good one day then not so good the next. Ive never had a bad experience at Lynchburg Cook Out. It hit the spot every time. Even when they had the walkup window they nailed it. The fact that the prices are still better than almost anywhere makes it an easy choice for me.Enjoy.

I Went through the drive-thru and ordered a separate side of nuggets with my order. When I got to the window, the employee said that they forgot to add it and asked that I get back in the line if I wanted a side of nuggets because there was a long line of cars. I asked if I could just add it and pay for it there because I had already asked for it in the first place, but the employee was rude and said “oh well get back in line”. Seriously? So Rude!

Such a huge menu, the food is a pleasure no matter what one may order. The staff are cool to chat up as well. Great experience.

Ordered a burger lettuce, tomato, mayo, onion. Corn dog and onion rings. Peach milkshake. Went through drive thru. Got down the road only to find, burger dry only meat and bun. No ketchup or mustard for C. D. Or O. R. Tasted like dish water. Still trying to get a taste of milkshake, its been 2 hours. It doesnt melt. Very disappointed!!!

This place has pretty great food, but the service isn’t always to be desired for. The workers are some of the nicer ones in the area, but the line is always long, and it doesn’t move fast. Overall the place is pretty clean, but it’s the wait that brings down my overall review

Cook out! One of my favorite fast food chains. The food is fast, but the quality is top notch, which is positively unusual for fast food. I love the tray and Jr tray options, and have made a tray with a shake my usual order. The cheeseburger quesadilla is an absolute hero of food value, and the white cheddar cheese bites are one of my biggest cravings.The best part is how late theyre open. There arent many places to get hot food at midnight, but Cook Out is there for me. Well, technically, Im there for Cook Out, but is there really an important difference?

We had such a pleasant drive through experience here tonight (around 9:30 PM). The woman at the cash register had excellent service and such a good attitude. Genuinely seemed happy to be there helping people get their orders and was very polite. She was also awesome at her job. When we pulled around to pay and pick up our food, she was doing such a great job multi-tasking and taking someone elses order while also taking payment and getting us ours. Our order was hot and accurate too. Great job!

As far as Fast-food goes....very good! Cheese Burgers were made right and The French Fries were GREAT! Customer service associates were Super nice! 5 STARS *****

Usually fantastic service. Tonight it took forever even though there was only 4 cars and my order wasnt correct but it was still good.

Me and my wife went to Lynchburg cook to get food and one they got my food wrong. One of the customers had spilled something on the floor and she told an employee and that employee said in front of her no no no stuff is rude and don’t listen to orders. Had to wait 20 mins for a shake

Good food and the girl at the window was on point with her job. She gave me all my condiments without asking.

Great food and awesome shakes at an amazing price, so you can feed your whole family and also a great location on Wards Road Lynchburg, Virginia. 100 percent recommend you stop and dine when you visit Lynchburg Virginia.

Location is a bit difficult to get in and out of when busy. However, quick service and the food is what you expect for fast food. One of the few places that stays open late. Also quick note, I was charged for the cup when all I wanted was water with my dinner. I thought that was a bit unusual.

My family and I came up to Lynchburg, VA for my graduation from Liberty University. We entered the packed restaurant with 30 minutes to closing, but none of the employees seemed to care as they excitedly served each customer. Our cashier Asti Smith, was exceptional. She patiently waited on us as we worked with my two kids to figure out what they wanted. In giving the order, then changing it because of what they did not want, an order was left on the ticket. We did not pay much attention to the receipt, but the mistake was discovered once the food was ready. Without us saying anything, Asti, brought us the refund of the mistaken order. What integrity this young lady displayed. and that, ladies and gentlemen, is what brings customers back.

Great food, fast, fresh cooked, and accurate. Staff was incredibly friendly and the restaurant was very clean.

The fries were not good they look like some one just sucked the life of them! I can make better then that but corn dog were great .

I have been here three times this year and not once did they get our order right. They do not listen at the drive thru. They are always missing something. Today, I had to repeat my order twice and they gave me a chicken quesadilla instead of a cheesburger and chilli cheese fries instead of regular fries. They also left out one of the drinks. I recommend avoiding this place.

Dont go inside to eat ,total chaos. Wated 25 minutes to get our food , food had been setting and was cold and not very well prepared. I love cookout but this was ridiculous.

Love this place!!! We normally go when it first opens (around 10:30-11am). The food is fresh and hot. Great food for the price.

Only gave 2 stars because the nuggets were good! The top half was done as I got into the middle, I stopped and just spreaded it apart and as you can see its raw🤮

Never disappoints Cajun chicken and bbq are my faves, chili and fries as the sides I use the chili as a dip for my fries its even great on the corn dogs! 😋 so yummy.

Went through the drive through this time: I spent $33 on burgers, onion rings, and fries for four. There were many options to choose from, but I had a hard time telling the burgers apart. The burger had been sacked into the wrapper like it was prepared by a sloppy, angry person and the food was jammed into the bags so it came out of the bag mashed into a fried ball of grease and paper. The burgers werent much to show for as there were more onions than burger. There was no ketchup or napkins provided. Quality is low, price is cheap, taste is okay, and the employees seemed nice. *Dine-in was a way better experience* Dont do drive through unless youre really in a hurry!

Always great food and service. The line was all the way around the building....twice, so I walked up to the window. Got my food within 5 minutes. I always get the barbecue and hush puppies and its always great. Thanks guys!

This cookout was bomb! Loved the chicken quesadilla! And BLT! Cajun fries on point! Service was Awesome 👍 The line wraps around but goes fairly quickly. You just have no control over idiots who dont know how to drive through drive thru lines😂🤦🤷

I ordered a 1/4 burger and literally didn’t get a patty. Like what in the world is this? I thought this was stuff you only see online but apparently not.

Just like all the others, I left my contact info. And that was the end of it. Top down leadership in action.Strike 1: They were out of napkins.Strike 2: No salt and pepper even tho I requested twice at the pick up window.Strike 3: They simply missed adding fries to the bag.Forfeit: We’re all human and make mistakes and these are certainly minor. What is not insignificant is they way I was treated when I made a courteous request for items typically included in drive thru—like food I ordered and paid for and napkins. Meanwhile, my burger is quickly cooling in the car.Two silly girls at the walk up window laughed, made fun of me to each other, and yelled at me when I asked for the manager. I’d gotten nowhere with them in 10 min and my burger is getting colder. WHY?The polite man who finally delivered my missing fries explained that they were out of napkins and had sent someone to Farmville for official Cook Out napkins. Where’s the logic? No napkins versus plain napkins from a nearby grocery store in a pinch?Just like their sign which is half-lit, Cook Out strikes OUT!They should take a page from the playbook of the famous chicken restaurant that closes on Sundays and send their staff to a top-notch school of customer service.

Very good food n shakes, soooo many different shake flavors. The food is inexpensive, but for a guy u may consider ordering more food. They even offer Texas Pete sauce n great options on their food, great coleslaw, awesome customer service. We wish we had a Cook Out near us. I do recommend

This establishment lacked professionalism and has customer service etiquette. I ordered a milkshake, which due to an error she gave it to the car ahead of me. The person returned the milkshake after opening it. When I pulled up to the window she handed me the same milkshakes and lied about remaking it. It takes more than a few seconds to make a new milkshake. I, then, parked to request my milkshake be remade. She later came back, and she hands me something else. This is the remade milkshake she brought back. To add to it, she wasnt wearing a mask, and she serves numerous of people through the drive thru window. Its not safe or healthy for her, or the people she serves. If I could give zero stars I would. Better health measures should be in place especially during this COVID-19 pandemic.

Great vibe as the place is always packed. Definitely a younger crowd. Prices are unbelievable! You can get a plate for about 5 bucks. The milkshakes are number one though. Super thick and made from quality ingredients and they only cost 3 dollars! Great deal. Check it out!

Cook out was awesome theres 4 of us we just got out of the liberty football game. This one actually has inside eating. After fighting though rain in very cold weather it was very nice to go in and sit app. We ordered our food went to sit down. And that are number was called went up picked up our food came back. To the table everybody said it was yummy. Mine was very good. It was really very quick very good very easy and very inexpensive. Top notch service.

I LOVE the Cook Out and go there a lot as I work just down the road. I think the quality, quantity and price are perfect. BUT today I go and order a BLT, get to work and what do I find...KETCHUP instead of a tomato. YUCK!!! No tomatos? No problem just tell me and I would have asked for mayo. I tried calling several times and couldnt get through. I will now add them to my list of ALWAYS CHECK MY ORDER BEFORE LEAVING, which may hold up there very busy drive-thru. I didnt want to write this but you wouldnt answer your phone!!

Their milkshakes are everything.Burgers are fresh. At 1030 at night the parking lot was full and the drive thru had 11 cars. ON A MONDAY NIGHT.
