Definitely the primary photo op of the city, especially in front of the main cathedral. All the major restaurants and tourist companies circle the plaza. Dont forget to catch the flag-raising ceremony here nearly every Sunday morning.

An historic place, anchored by a Catholic Cathedral that looks to be several hundred years old, Huancayo is a busy little city in Northern Peru. The elevation is more than 10,000 meters, over two miles in elevation. Coming from sea level, I couldnt catch my breath. Very worth experiencing.

The park and church had a big fence with tarp around it. Not able to enter or see much. The locals say it has been under repair for 6 months. Wish we had a chance to see it at its glory.
