Seasonal free tours are offered of the botanical garden & conservatory's flower & plant collections.
This botanical garden is on a nice location near the lake. It has a huge well maintained collection of flowers and plants from around the world. It is definitely a great place to visit for a walk, especially on a sunny day. The entrance is free.
Free entry, very nice for couples and kids. Lots of interactive activities. The greenhouses are very pretty.
Excellent little gem just outside the city. Everything was free to look around and go into the various greenhouses.Dont eat there though because although the food is probably the cheapest youll find in Geneva... theres a reason it is basically warmed up cardboard!
Lovely botanical garden and free entrance! There are certain areas with good Wi-Fi. Lovely and well mentained garden which is also home for some animals.
Very nice botanical gardens. They have a wide variety of plants, trees and flowers and the area is big enough to walk around for a few hours. The greenhouses are also very interesting with different climates and plants and trees you wouldn’t see elsewhere.
Great place ! Some animals look tired, their surroundings are quite dirty and seem small for the quantity of animals that there are; specially the birds cage, it is particularly small and we can find at least 20 birds (between flamingos, ducks and swans).Nevertheless, it is still a very éducative place and its always great to walk around !
Very beautiful garden with many varieties of plants available. A must visit place if you visit geneva.
Beautiful gardens with greenhouses for different climates
Slightly dissapointing to be honest. I would have expected more flowers and plants for a botanical garden, it felt more like a normal park with a couple of greenhouses and some farm animals dotted around.I did react a bit to the deer enclosure it was a bit small for the number of animals, and aside from the concrete slab with the feeding rack it all consisted of medium sized pebbles/ round rocks. No enrichement/ shade aside from the small roof over the feeding station and no comfortable place to lay down.It is advocated as one of the places to see in Geneva, however you will not loose out if you choose to skip it
Lovely place to walk around. Free! Plants were grouped into interesting collections, eg plants used in fabric production and two big conservatories and an orchid section. A nice size to walk around in 2-3 hours. The staff in the cafe were very helpful and friendly telling us how the cafe worked in English.Only negative was that some of the plants lacked labels or labels were not clear.
1st non paying botanical garden I visit!Beautifully curated & rich.
Great botanical garden. I appreciated how all the plants were composed together, making it seem like a pleasant, very natural park. Especially in the central area, where different plants were combined into territories like Siberia, Spain or North America. The exhibition of medicinal plants was also interesting but it would have been much better if English descriptions were available (so far only French).
We really enjoyed this botanical garden! Beautiful plants, animals, playground, etc! The rock garden area is beautiful and we had a blast trying to dodge the sprinklers (went earlier in the morning with our 7 year old).
Botanical garden, a top place to visit, and set aside 2-3 hours, regeneration of soul and body.
Beautiful open space for walking, or leaning about the natural environment. All cities should work to provide free places to enjoy nature.
Wow free and so much fun for the kids. Parks animals and more.
Beautifull to see like every sigle collection well-protected we saw around the world! Just a little small.
Beautiful botanic garden. Has some nice benches in the shade on a hot summer day. Nice selection of green houses, very colorful plants.
A beautiful Botanical Garden with various plant from different parts of the continent. The greenhouse is breathtaking, full of life and it’s an Edens garden on its own. You can troll around the park, rest at benches and sip on anything at a nearest restaurant with a kid’s playground nearby incase you are with your little ones. On a beautiful sunny day you can bring your picnic stuffs with and enjoy the park while seating looking at the view of the lake or chilling in the garden while having a cold one with snacks and reading your favourite books or whatever you feel like doing.Trust me the are some peacocks and will make sure that you get the opportunity of seeing the rafflering their feathers . Enjoy Conservatoire et Jardin botanique
This is a really great botanical garden. You can probably spend a whole day in it and still have things to see. Loved the transitions between the different climates
Beautiful and well maintained. Mornings tend to be less crowded.
Beautiful gardens offering a wide variety of activities, including greenhouses, a small zoo, didactic gardensVery interesting insights and explanationsPossibility of meals at the restaurantMake sure to visit the annexe property, one by the lake and the other beyond the zoo
Pretty big ! You can spent youre entire afternoon there if you live plants. A crazy variety of exotics and specifics. Dont miss the green houses !
Lovely gardens, the rose garden especially was worth tracking down. Good information about the plants and all free!
We were on vacation to explore Geneva but we always try to visit a garden. And thank goodness we did. This was a wonderful trip. A bit fruthur out but with the free transport pass for tourists, it was easy enough to get to. I would recommend to pack some sandwiches or a picnic and relax there (but only if you have time! )
Great spot for a walk while seeing and learning about an impressive variety of plants and flowers!
Such a fun place to walk around. Theres a few greenhouses to go inside, and the lighting and plants are super pretty. Relaxing and chill place to visit - highly recommend
The gardens are packed with natural features including special plants, stones, and even a few live animals. The open air exhibits were impressive because it made lessons tangible and engaging for all ages. The zen garden and rock exhibits took our visit from good to great.
Its beautiful make sure to visit it, do not miss the dome of winter its amazing inside
I wasnt expecting to like this place so much! People have really taken care of it. Its just beautiful. Totally worth it. Its a nice calm place to walk around and discover nice plants and animals. I totally recommend the place if you are in Ginebra
One of the most beautiful and biggest botanic gardens in switzerland, plants are well labeled, has a restaurant and many different, themed areas: alpinum, fragrant garden, glasshouses and many more! Highly recommend a visit!
A real place of peace and quiet in Geneva. All plants are named and a lot of effort has been made to recreate climate zone plant vegetation. Small enclosure of animals and a few peacocks roaming free
This was a crazy botanical garden, but its not on any travel guides???? It has 2 conservatories which are so well organised they almost seem wild. A japensese garden, gardens, gardens, gardens and plants for diffrent industrial processes. Many ponds with large fish as well
Nice interesting big park with big old trees, but also very tiny plants from the mountains, and tropical ones in these beautiful glasshouses. Some parts of the park have a lot of signs that explain how a plant is/was used. And there is an educational part that tells a bit about the evolution.
One of my favourite places to frolic in Geneva, and I bring all my out-of-town guests here too. Simply stunning and its fun to learn about the plants, trees, animals, and bees with their labels, audio tours, and exhibits. The grounds are kept exceptionally clean and they even have some fun art installations. A perfect place to relax as well as stir up some whimsy.
This botanical garden is a nice place to walk on a hot summer day, to have a picnic, we also saw runners there. The location is quite big, with lots of different sort of plants. Kids really enjoyed the covered building for tropical plants, where we could see bananas, pineapples and other interesting plants, that you normally don’t see in Europe.
Visited Conservatoire et Jardin botaniques de la Ville de Genève because the group wanted to.I wasnt interested but at least I managed to see the fairy tale carousel and saw a peacock!Other than that it is just a park.
Beautiful and peaceful every season. Most plants are labeled and plenty of useful information all around. Bookshop, restaurant and public Wi-Fi at several points to complement nature. My favorite outdoor spot in Geneva to relax.
Absolutely stunning ! These gardens are my favourite place in all of Geneva. Its divided into several little gardens, such as a tropical greenhouse, a Japanese garden or a "senses" garden. Everything is clean is explained with little panels, so even if you know nothing about plants this can be very informative.
I really enjoy these Gardens every time I go there: there is always a quiet corner if you want to enjoy these beautiful surroundings and rest, taking some distance from the city. The amazing variety of plants and flowers on display is beautiful! Plus there are dedicated areas where you can learn and/or experience something new... Lots of families and kids around, a beautiful place for everybody and at any time of the year! The walk from Paquis along the lake make it a beautiful outing for a couple of hours... or a whole day.
A very beautiful botanic garden divided into various habitats, each one with its typical plants. Also containing diverse hothouses dedicated to different biotops. There are also art objects composed of flowers and plants. Most enjoyable place to stroll leisurely.
May have missed some of the splendor as my first visit was in autumn but still worth the visit. The greenhouses were gorgeous and the layout of the gardens a nice walk with different themes to explore. Will have to return with a better camera.Looks a good place to take the kids on a nice day as well.
Genuinely great place. Was a lovely walk around it. We caught the good weather which automatically made it a nicer place to be. It is just beautifully looked after and crafted. You have got winter gardens up on the top near the train line which is very cool, and another big greenhouse down the hill near the road with more exotic plants growing in it. Just everything about this place is very nice and would recommend a visit as the gardens are very well manicured.
A very nice and quiet place to visite alone or with children, from spring to autumn, every seasons have their own flowers to see. Big fun park for children with a comfortable terrasse restaurant just nearby.
Things to do in Geneva: definitely visit the botanical garden at no cost. Lovely place with serene environment with a view of the lake. There really are no words, you’ve to see it yourself. Walking distance to the lake and the UN building. Carousel for kids and adults, restaurants, green house for plants and a bunch of gorgeous flowers.
It was great, the botanical garden is very pretty and free. Lots of different flowers, big park areas, nice water creeks and waterfalls. I totally loved it and recommend it to all people visiting Geneva.
This is my favorite free thing to do in Geneva. The park is huge and prefecture maintained. Theres a little restaurant to catch a snack or bring a picnic. Make sure to check out the most unique carousel Ive ever seen. Its pure magic.
Perfect place to relax during hot day and not only hot. Beautiful nature combined with refreshing creaks and lakes. Different activities for children: playground, old fashion (but newcarousel, fountain for playing in hot days. There are several restaurants with good food in the garden.
Really love this botanical garden. Very beautiful and relaxing place to walk and to enjoy nice and sunny weather. You can learn about any kind of plants and flowers here. Plants from Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Australia. Plants for medicine, plants for food, plants for cosmetics and plants for clothes. I saw one of the glass houses full of tropical plants. The other big glass house full of cactus and giants trees. Very educative and informative.
Very nice and free botanical garden. Its located in the large park that also contains educational exhibitions. There is a wide variety of plans ranging from common ones to some poisonous and tropical plants. Its a very good place for a Sunday walk with the kids.
