Connollys On 5th is one of the best Irish pubs in the Carolinas and their bartenders are authentic from Ireland with the accents and everything!! Kayla is a beautiful lass who made sure to chat up all the guests at the bar even when it was at peak busy levels. She was amazing! The customer base ranged from locals out on the town to tourists visiting from all around the world. A truly diverse group all enjoying a pint at the pub together. There is a wide variety of Irish Whiskeys available and the Guinness pour was divine!! SLÁINTE🇮🇪🍻🍀🍻🇮🇪

Had an amazing time at this place as we were in for the Browns game over the weekend. The staff is extremely welcoming and had plenty of awesome conversations. We were in town 4 days and came here 4 days. Dont judge. Lol. Will definitely come back when in Charlotte!

Great little traditional Irish Pub.

The interior was nice and relaxing. The var wasnt to crazy and had outdoor seating. The owner or manager was nice enough to bring my receipt outside to me as I wanted to see and experience the level of service they provided. I bought some random nice people a round of shots. as most people in the city were not very friendly. They were informative and helpful. Thank you.

As much as I want to support my favorite bar Belfast, I have to say Connollys serves the best Guinness on draft hands down in Charlotte. From the pour to the clover leaf it is exceptional done, even when its busy af they still produce a quality pint.It is to be assumed given that it is one of the few true Irish pubs in Charlotte.My favorite thing about Connolly however is the fact that one day you can enjoy a random conversation with some guy while playing chess then the next youre dancing to club music on the weekends upstairs.Its such an experience you just have to give it a try.

When one thinks of an Irish bar, the general assumption is that there will be good pours, good service, and a very nice kind of "old school" ambiance. That said, Connollys could be used as a prime example of the genre! Lots of good music played at just the right volume (most of it Gaelic), a fine selection of liquors, including The Balvenie Doublewood . The friendly bartender exhibited a wisdom beyond his years for his professional treatment of his patrons, which is a quality sadly lacking in most places today. If you want to visit an Irish bar that lends the illusion that its St Pats every day, this is the place... an absolute must for visitors in Charlotte... Thank You!

Goddam Aaaaah! This place is crazy good!! Darkest, dingiest place in CLT. Proper Irish bartender and BeeGees mixed in with Dublin in the Rare old times with Jimmy Hendrix.

One of the best Irish pubs Ive been to. Ive never had a bad draft Guinness there, which I cant say thats the case for other places.

A couple of friends and I were in town for the Bon Jovi concert and we had an absolute blast at Connolly’s! Great atmosphere, great people and wonderful bartenders!

Came on April 7th in the evening to be greeted by the the most upbeat positive and welcoming doorman, which is very rare and appreciated. Awesome place. Will definitely visit again when in town.

It’s been a good time every time at Connolly’s - especially for a packed bar which, in every other situation, is not my scene anymore. But, this is walkable from my apartment, looks just like a pub you’d see in Ireland, they know how to pour a Guinness(best we’ve had in the city), and many of the bartenders are actually Irish (which makes my partner happy when he’s here visiting from Ireland). I think I saw bags of Tayto being sold, too :)Staff have always been so nice and the patrons are fun and welcoming. We always have fun chats with friendly people every time every time we’ve been. Door guys are always really nice, too.I do wish they served food but Ri Ra is just around the corner. Come over for a pint before or after!

Everything was great but I didnt like to be charged for something I didnt drink. We took 10 Grey Goose with cranberry 2 fireball.Ive been charged for those plus 2 well drinks that were not mine . Sadly I realize that next day when I saw my receipt and this was in between 3 people. Band was super nice treat from employees were super nice . CHARGED FOR SOMETHING I DID NOT DRINK ....??? NO GOOD AT ALL !!! VERY DISAPPOINTED AND DISHONEST !!!

Decent place to get a pint or some Irish whiskey. Not the largest so get there early in the night.

I visited while doing a road trip to NC. Nice little pub in the heart of Charlotte. This place gives you the real feeling of being in a Pub very traditional look and great beers 🍻

All the bartenders were great, Sean especially, hes the all star of the house always making sure everyone is doing good. Even watched our drinks when a random guy stopped by our table

Great authentic Irish bar. Makes you feel like your in Boston. The bartenders are from Ireland, and they provide great service. My wife and I enjoyed it very much. Its in Uptown Charlotte surrounded by the beauty of the city. Its a must try if you are visiting.

I’ve loved Guinness for a very long time and I am always happy to find a bar who can pull off serving one! We stopped in for a late night drink and had a great time. Service is outstanding and the atmosphere was lively. We’ll be back our next trip downtown!

Connollys has somehow been able to manage capacity during the pandemic better than any other bar in town. It is never over crowded but there are always plenty of cool people to meet. They also play good music, a mixture of old school and indie bands. Friendly bartenders and drinks arent watered down. Not much more I can ask of a local bar.

My husband and I came here for the first time and felt like we were truly back in Ireland (our favorite place). Great beer choices and fantastic staff!

Fantastic Irish Pub with a tighter dive atmosphere that I love. Still plenty of room to distance and the staff is friendly! The beer options are plentiful and varied!

I went to Connolly’s on Saturday for a few beers and to catch the Mcgregor fight. Wow what an experience. The place was packed and even still we were able to get drinks and have a great time! Atmosphere hands down was one of the best I have been to in uptown. Not to mention the masterclass of pouring Guinness even crowd surfing back to our spot glass stayed perfect! Go here whether you want to catch a sporting event or just relax after a day at the office!

Love Connollys! Friendly staff, great atmosphere, great music! Didnt give 5 stars because they used to have an outdoor patio and bar which was always packed but the patio closed. Wish they had an outdoor area other than on the street outside the front door.

Great little bar with plenty of character, named for the great Irish hero of the working class and Easter Rising martyr, James Connolly. Its tucked away into a corner off one of the major streets so itd be easy to miss if not for spotting the Irish flag hanging outside. Really glad I stopped in here while I was in Charlotte.

Great place to go out on the weekends if you are looking for a busy bar with lots of people between 25-30. Outdoor patio is nice for extra space especially during the summer. Tends to get very packed on weekend nights but bartenders are usually pretty good about getting to everyone in a timely manner all things considered.One of my favorite bars to go to in uptown Charlotte if you are looking for a bar with lots of people and a fun vibe.
