Connolly's in New York City

Tasty food and drinks from all cuisine, not just Irish, as you may assume from the name. They also have a cute rooftop area but it only has a limited street view. We ended up eating here twice during our stay nearby because it was a fun place with good food

We had booked this place after our discovery that New York is busy every night every day of the year. Despite booking we and many others were herded to the side of the bar to wait with little knowledge of what was going on, werent sure we had even been noted as arrived. Eventually, one drink down at the bar we were seated up stairs in a nice and quieter dining area than the tables in the busy bar. Our server was very helpful with the food ordering and explaining how huge the servings were. We didnt quite believe it so ended up ordering a meal each.. some times you got to trust the pros, cos we ended up with food for 8 to 10 instead of the 5 of us. It was a good laugh bartering and trading our dishes. Food was good just way too much of it. The service had been great till the end of the meal when our server vanished as did the responsibility of getting our bill. The other staff seemed to struggle with who should deal with it like it was forbidden for another server to assist a customer of another server. If you like food and lots of it your love this place

Fantastic atmosphere. Perfect location right near Times Square, we saw many characters/ performers walking past. Our waitress was very attentive. My friends enjoyed their drinks and on a chilly day, I was very happy with my Bailey’s hot chocolate (I was worried it wouldn’t be chocolatey enough).I’ve been here for office happy hour events and we always enjoy the service and food/drinks.

We came to Connollys because it was right next door to our hotel, and Im so glad we did! It is the epitome of an authentic Irish pub. The decor is warm and wood-paneled, and many of the servers even have Irish accents. The staff was all very friendly and welcoming as well!My husband got the American burger, and I got the fish & chips. The batter on the fish was perfectly crispy, yet the fish was tender and flakey. My husband ordered his burger rare, and it came out excellently rare (which is actually pretty unusual - he always orders rare and its usually over cooked). Would definitely recommend Connollys!

Friendly pub with decent food, friendly staff and sports on TV. A good place to come for traditional staples like Irish Stew and a fried breakfast as well and smaller plates - the chicken pesto wrap was tasty and the fries were great too. Servers were friendly and helpful.

Nice friendly atmosphere, authentically Irish with attentative bar staff. Definitely recommended for just a drink (or threeand for food.

Steak sandwich, and lamb burger were top notch. Servers were all great!! Even the branded beer glasses were a great touch. Our most visited bar in NYC

This was a very good, late night discovery after seeing the show at Radio City Music Hall. The staff was wonderful. The clientele and the ambience were welcoming. The food was great. And the cost was reasonable for the city.

Great for Irish breakfast, also has a great evening menu, friendly staff, great location, cant speak highly enough about this place.Highly recommended.

My wife and I had the Gaelic Burgers.. They were absolutely delicious. Big fresh portions, even the sides. We sat on the first floor. The service was great. Especially the Spanish lady from I believe born in Nicaragua.After dinner we went upstairs to catch the life Irish Rock band playing.. The bartender was very nice also.. Great all around.

Food and drinks were good, and reasonably priced. Service was pretty slow, and several of the servers seemed to not know what was on the menu. A waiter spilled a drink on my pants (it happens), but when I asked for napkins to clean up, she kept making jokes about it rather than help out.

This is the best place to go around Times Square area. They have a good rooftop. And the best thing about is they have a designated smoking area. The price was very reasonable.Every time I go to Times Square I always go here. I love the menu, service, ambiance and everything.

Absolutely amazing and energetic bar and restaurant. This place feels like home. We were welcomed with warm and open arms. I came with a group of 8 friends and the restaurant was able to accommodate us without any issues. We were seated at a great table and were waited on by one of the most charming Irish waitresses ever. The drinks and food were delicious and accurately delivered to our table. Service was expeditious and extremely affordable. There is no doubt in my mind that we will be returning soon.

Great bar with amazing super friendly staff! Bar with history and soul! You have to come here and sit and order a few drinks, I am sure you will meet many nice people and have a good time.

Great Midtown bar! Four floors.would love to go back and check out some live music on one of their floors. The rooftop is not so rooftop. There were tables in the areas where you could be more outside. The bar area is enclosed.

Service is the winner here. All of the servers are very friendly, food was quick and drinks never ran empty. The food? Mediocre at best, but a wide variety and a great spot if you’re in Times Square. Keep in mind, the menu changes from the full menu to a late night reduced menu sometime around midnight.

Nice atmosphere, ran in before Diana Ross concert at Radio City Music Hall, 9/13/22. Quick seating w/o reservation. Appetizers were over priced. Potato skins $14 for 3 half pieces!! Artichoke dip & handful of chips, $14. Fried calamari, small portion of little bits, again $14. The main dinners were fine!Busy, but attentive server. Would go again!!

We visited NYC, found this gem on our first night here. It is 2 doors from where we stayed so it was perfect at the end of a long day of walking and touring the area to come in for a quick snack and beer. We were in NYC for 5 days, we went there 3 nights and on our last day for lunch. Lara was fantastic, we thoroughly enjoyed every visit. When we come back to visit the city again, well pop in for sure.

We have been coming here for years and the food, drinks and service never disappoint. The staff is professional and top-notch and you always get a friendly Irish welcome with the authentic Irish banter. Stop in and enjoy this huge pub right by Time Square and if you want to switch the mood up, head out the front, make a right, and pop on right next door at the sister-establishment, The Perfect Pint.

Connollys is open late which made it the perfect place to eat after a Broadway show. We were seated on the first floor near the bar with no wait around 11pm. The hostess and wait staff were all very friendly and efficient and the food was served very quickly. We had Shepherds Pie, Fried Mozzarella and Peanut Butter pie for dessert, all were very good. The atmosphere was great with Irish accents everywhere. If you like a good Irish pub definitely check out Connollys.

The food was pretty good. Great spot to relax after a long day and have some drinks with friends or Co workers. The service was great and seems to have many levels to the establishment with different atmospheres . Make sure to check out the rooftop!

The star is for the avocado toast. The only good thing in the experience.We went for breakfast, asked for double expresso it turned out to be instant coffee really disgusting with foam and the smell was horrible. Then when asked for the bill, 6 dollars for the very not irish and very disgusting coffee and thats not all: 20% tip included and on the after tax. We would be adding the 20% either way but the fact of obliging us to tip minimum 20% and add additional tip! That was not acceptable. And intimidating the tourists is not acceptable too.The waitress was very unfriendly when we asked for the check without the tips pre-filled, and made us wait.

We were very hungry & wanted a simpleQuick dinner.So we all agreed to try Connolly pub restaurant. On this past Sunday 8/21We informed the receptionist & hostess we had a 630 pm Theatre show. It was 535pm when we placed our 4 orders . Our waiter did magic took our orders & the food was delicious . We all ordered well done cheeseburger s fully loaded with tomato, lettuce pickle red onion & applewood bacon. We ate everything . Our beverages were ordered on time. I highly recommend this restaurant without any reservation. Especially for a pretheatre show. They play music, & have many TVs like a sports pub restaurant.. They have a wide selection of food on the menu with a variety of Spirits. Definitely a pub but super friendly staff. Our waiter was on point & didn’t miss a thing.

The food and service here were great. We enjoyed our late evening meal after a long day walking around Manhattan in a cozy, wood-paneled booth. The beverage menu is strong and the meal options were very diverse. What we ordered was well-prepared.We would eat here again.

Connollys rooftop bar and grill is definitely a place you should try. The food is great, the drinks are better and the hospitality by staff is fantastic. I happen to be there on a very beautiful day so it was very enjoyable. I recommend the Gaelic Burger and the Grapefruit beer

Visited Connollys on 45th Street in New York City following a matinee of a Broadway show. Reservation process was easy. Upon arrival, was seated immediately with very quick service. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Food arrived quickly and was delicious. The "only" downside, if any, was the noise level but you have to remember it is an Irish Pub ! Would highly recommend !

My daughter got a Shirley temple. It turned out to be $8. For reference a pint of Guinness was $9.Upon being seated we scared our a giant roach from under the table. Fun.Music playing was from the Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis era. Weird.The positives. Service was excellent, burgers were excellent, the pour on the Guinness was excellent.

Classic City Pub BarThe bar covered with all kind of Police badges is outstanding. A very good place to rest after a big walk, or a great hideout until the “others” spends the time at Time Square. Sports are an all well located TVs.Great air conditionerWell served beers, specially the Guiness.Good Nachos

Nice bar atmosphere. I had a Moscow mule but it was pretty weak. Fish and chips were good though.

We love Shephard’s Pie and Connelys was fabulous, it was the Perfect late night comfort food after just flying in to NYC. My husband got the Fish and Chips and we shared a Falafel. All of it was super yummy. Great service, the Irish music was great and atmosphere was fun.

Loved here. Really friendly staff (including the temp on the night helping out the owner). Explained New York Rangers & that whole thing (unbelievable). Close to TS & the Broadway stuff. Great for me as some of the family went to something I wasnt that interested in. PS make sure u get a bar stool. Chatting to staff is great.

Made a reservation for 4:45 they sat me at a table that was reserved for 6:30. They said they had no other tables, yet people without reservations were getting seated after me at a random, no reservation table. They were busy but still, I wasnt being rushed off my table. I left Im not rushing eating my food. Wont go back again. 1st time at any restaurant in NYC having this problem.

Great food! Great service! Truly authentic Irish cuisine! I was sad I couldn’t finish my food! Officially my favorite food in NYC! Conveniently located right outside our hotel at Times Square. Highly recommend this place!

Connolly’s never fails! Authentic Irish pub that I’ve been coming to for 15+ years. Adding a photo of my most recent meal, the scallops with risotto entree. But you can’t go wrong with any of the irish classics that they have on their menu!

Food and drinks were good. Lost a star for being seated by entryway (constant traffic and cold). Didn’t want to complain during a busy dinner hour with no reservation. Servers were attentive. Huntsman sandwich and salmon entrée were both worth having again. The local brews were pretty good too. The tiramisu was average.

We stayed at the Hyatt Centric so Connolly was very convenient for us. It was quick to get in both times we visited. Service was great and friendly. Chicken pot pie was delicious. We will return next time we visit NYC!

We stayed next door at the Hyatt Centric and wanted to grab a quick bite right after checking in. After an exceptional lunch of authentic Irish cuisine we walked the midtown area. After walking for hours we all decided to come back to Connollys for a late dinner. Once again they did not disappoint. Chicken pot pie, Guinness, Shepard Pie and Potabello sandwich was off the charts perfection. A solid 12!!!!

Wonderful fries, delicious Gaelic burger!! Beer was ice cold. A ways from home but had a great lunch. Mozzarella sticks good too! Server was pleasant. Hightoo table in a covered outdoor heated setting 4 floors up. Really enjoyed it.

Traditional Irish brekkie before we leave today. Met the owner, Bernie Reilly and he shared some great stories and memories with us. The food and service impeccable! Cant wait to come back!!

Enjoyed our "last supper" at Connollys Irish pub again in "Times Square."A full Irish breakfast with the owner Bernie Reilly. BEST breakfast in N.Y.C! He owns eight establishments in the area, each named after a family member.We brought him the recent article out of the "Arizona Republic" that reflected on the night of September 11th 2001, at his pub. The Priest that was killed, was a frequent customer (drinking non alcoholic beerand enjoying the live music.There are fire and police badges from around the world, posted on the walls.

Im from out of state and I highly recommend this place! It had good food! First time there and first time trying fish and chips and it did NOT disappoint! The appetizer was calamari and it was definitely made fresh and not the can or frozen kind. I also loved their coleslaw and I do not like coleslaw at all lol. Definitely try this place out, will not disappoint!
