Some 7000 acres of mountains, bogs, heaths and grasslands, with wildlife and scenic walking trails.
Superb experience! The trails were so well maintained and accessible. Thank you to everyone who keeps that trail in great shape. Spoke with PJ and Sean who were working on the trail when we were on our way down - impressive engineering and maintenance!
Several hiking trails for various comfort levels and facilities.
Good hike up to the top of the hill... too far for me but alternative routes exist. Helpful park staff. Good facilities and exhibition.
Amazing scenery!!! Very majestic mountains, lakes and little islands. It looks amazing even from car. We have stopped to take some photos :)
12 bens & Mamturks, among the nicest mountains in Ireland to hike, beautiful scenery, beautiful rock, fabulous to hike in 💚
We didnt get to the top of Diamond Mountain and it was a little bit foggy, but the views were still beautiful. It took us around 45 minutes to complete the blue trail and the beginning of the red one. There is free parking.
One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The red trail was pretty easy despite not having experience in hiking.
I think climbing Diamond Hill was the highlight of my trip to Ireland. The hike was moderate with sunning views all the way up and down. It is a 360 degree view at the top. It is rocky and exposed but I always felt safe.It is a loop at the top with the descent gentle and easy.
Nice little nationalpark - do the upper diamond hill trail the view pays back for every step - wear good shoes!
Magnificent place, good paths especially the lower trails, gets more challenging on the highest trail and we were definitely in the clouds as we neared the top. Well laid out pathway, expect weather conditions to change so even on a lovely day at the bottom bring a rain jacket and a water bottle. There is a café serving hot and cold food and drink, we had lightning quick service from friendly staff!
Beautiful place. I was there to climb Diamond Hill but I cant wait to go back and spend more time in the park.
Beautiful hiking spot with a variety of walks for all levels. The visitor centre is very well set up, I was very impressed for somewhere that was free entry! It has a picnic area, playground, tea room and toilets. Well worth the visit!
Beautiful spot for a hike, washrooms at base. Diamond Hill park has a beautiful panorama with well maintained trail and boardwalk. 3rd loop well worth it, considerably harder than other two loops
Lovely place to spend a morning. Great views & breathtaking scenery. Beware of the midges.
Love the park, walks of varied difficulty, a lucent playground and cafe. We climbed the Diamond summit, one of the 12 Bens, and the views were stunning! I climbed with my 10yo.
Very good and beutifull place to make walking trails. Trails are marked and well prepared for all ages .
Very enjoyable, easy hiking area. 3 routes marked out. Stunning views from summit of Diamond Hill on a good day. Nicely laid out cafe/picnic area. Free parking. Gets very busy in high season.
Great National park that we wished we could have spent more time hiking in. Several trail options to allow different levels of fitness to explore the area. Some may find the climbing of the stone steps troublesome as there is no handrails but in my opinion most would be fine by taking their time.
Beautiful hikes. Unfortunately we were only able to do the shorter hike (yellow routebecause we arrived after park office had closed and it was getting late. We had great views nonetheless. Go to the bathroom before you get there if arriving when park office is closed as bathrooms are locked promptly by 530 pm. Here are some pics and views around 630 pm in July on a cloudy day. Still spectacular!
Beautiful4 different walking path from visitor center1 hour for the blue one
Great exercise. Play area for kids. Toilet. Wear good shoes.
The hike to the top of the mountain (the longer trailwas fantastic! Aside from the incredible views, the most notable feature was the impeccable trail. The stonework to make the trail is literally the nicest stonework we have seen, and weve hiked for most of our lives all over the planet, through many national and state parks. We met Stand and P.J. along the trail as they were doing maintenance. They were both extremely friendly and added a bit of brightness to an already bright day!
Beautiful ❤️ Amazing ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ the meadows are so peaceful ..the hike is tough. The top is covered with clouds which u can feel. The way from Dublin is through tour bus or own transport. The views on the way are astonishing. West coast of Ireland is beautiful and peaceful. Its very far though from Dublin like 3.5 hours one way so go early and spend more time there.
Amazing place and beautiful walking tracks and surroundings. Best place to just forget all the hustle and bustle of daily life. It will definitely push your refresh button on. Its all pure nature at its best. سبحان اللہ
The hike up diamond hill was beautiful and so worth the effort. The trail is really well maintained and easy to follow. The facilities at the park were clean.
We didnt do the whole walk but I bet theres some pretty good shots you can take, but be careful of all the poop
Beautiful hike. Was a bit windy and cold the day we went. Takes a while to drive there from Galway.
Walks for every kind of sporty person, can recommend the diamond hill path for a maximum of view. Take enough water with you!
Beautiful views of Connemara - 3 trails suitable for different levels, although definitely not if you have walking difficulties. Good kids play park, picnic area, coffee shop and toilets. Parking area was very busy, though sufficient and the information point is located in the carpark for visitors just arriving.
Beautiful place, but you must have a car if you want to visit many places (diamond hill, dog bay, sky road ...). Note: road is limited to 100km/h but if you want to reach it do it at your own risk :)
Stunning spot, lovely for a walk alone or with friends. Beautiful playground for younger kids not wanting to do the climb. Alot of picnic tables too. Gift shop and quiet areas to sit and read. Well worth a visit if your in the west of Ireland.
View from Diamond hill, lovely views of the 12 pins.2hr complete hike from bottom of National park entrance
Lovely place, visitor centre is very nice. Fab coffee shop and kids playground. Spoilt to see this place on a glorioisly sunny day, it really is a special spot
All I can say is the first time I visited Connemara I got hooked and fell a love a breath taking landscapes
The trails are accessible even after the visitor centre and toilets close. The views from the upper diamond hill trail are incredible, although use caution on windy days.
Doing the diamond hike can be tough but there are lots of spots to rest and the views just get more and more spectacular as you climb.
Beautiful walk in scenic connemara choice of 3 challenges a 2km/3km/3.7km(yellow green and redfriendly to dogs and children 😊 lovely cafe and benches ats foot of climb for restorative cakes after!!
Beautiful views at every turn. There are 4 trails, you can select based on your interest.Clean toilets
Spectacular views at the top of diamond hill. Quite a hike, steep but not super long. Extremely windy, so make sure to dress accordingly.
Hungry Hiker Cafe. Had the Chicken ciabatta with beetroot salad and a latte. Service was very quick and friendly. Latte was good after the diamond hill climb. Up and down in 1hr 40mins. New PB. Very clean and welcoming. Menu at time of visit in pics.
This place is just gorgeous!!! If you’re looking to just go get your mind cleared, or go on an inspiration quest, a place to recharge or just to appreciate what a beautiful land Ireland is, this is the perfect spot for you. And it’s a free experience!
Beautiful park with views of the sea. 3 looped trails, from easy to difficult. Just did the small yellow loop, a bit steep for my mother who wears a brace..wouldnt recommend for people with mobility issues as theres no hand rail. Staff were really helpful.
Breath taking view. Different trek paths are there. Unfortunately went on a cloudy day but still the view was amazing. Took the blue trial because of time constraint. But definitely worth taking the longer route.
The most beautiful place I have ever set a foot or laid my eyes on. I highly recommend this park for both non and nature lovers
Diamond hills hike is a must when going to county Mayo. The view is gorgeous and the path very well indicated. Big plus to have an EV charger on the car park ! We left the car charging while doing the hike and we were good to drive back to Dublin !
Lovely walks for different levels - be prepared mentally and physically it youre going to the top of diamond Hill! Theres a great tea room at the bottom with gorgeous sandwiches when you come back down. We were told a new lady has taken over the tea rooms and has a new menu! I had an aubergine and hummus ciabatta, and he had bbq pulled pork ciabatta. The accompanying salads were just delicious!
Amazing walk up diamond hill. Amazing views. The visitor centre is closed due to the pandemic. But we were able to get coffee here. I have to mention the vast numbers of mosquitos to be found on the pathways, please use repellent as there are just do many
Walked the Diamond Hill trail which is really well laid out. The views from the top are breathtaking, well worth the climb.
This is an amazing place. The scenery is stunning and the hike was well directed so you couldnt go wrong. I love that there are several trails, all well marked and that the signs are clear about their difficulty level and estimated time to complete. The visitors centre also has a cafe ready for tired hikers to recharge. Bonus is the parking is free. A wonderful afternoon adventure!!!!
A gorgeous scenic walking and hiking trail especially on a sunny day. They are colour coded with map showing the routes. The diamond trail (redhike can be challenging for beginners so plan ahead, keep hydrated and give yourself time. It starts after the (yellowtrail. There are other wonderful trails for families with young ones like an intermediate (blueand an easy (greentrail as well. Amazing free public facilities. Trails are well maintained. Coming up we saw a white pony and a horse inside the enclosure that the young ones are allowed to feed (mostly bread). The nature trail (greenhas wonderful waterfall and creeks that was so tempting to just jump into but alas, we didnt bring a spare change of clothes or swim suit. Worth it.
