Comptoir V - Vegan restaurant in Suhaj, Egypt
Went for a meal. Had a chilli cheese burger, sweet potato fries and toasted banana bread for dessert. The burger was unique and was alright as was the fries. The desert was excellent though pricey for what you get.
The food was lovely and the menu was really cool but the staff weren’t very attentive and we had to wait a long time even though there was no one else there. The restaurant itself is sweet but was too quiet as music was not playing and it was empty so felt a little awkward.
Wonderful food, excellent service. Queens Park best kept secret. You dont have to be vegan to love it.
Bijoux restaurant but cosy. Dined in with my 3 sisters who are non vegan, we thought wed give it a shot. First off even though Im not a vegan I am a vegetarian and cook for the most part vegan therefor I was looking forward to sampling what Comptoir had to offer. I had the vegan burger and sweet potato fries, 2 of my sisters had shrips and buffalo cauliflower and 1 had I think a curry bowl. The curry bowl quinoa, salad, curry something (I really dont knowet al, Im informed was tasty, the shrimps and cauliflower were extremely sweet, soft, sticky, but edible. And my burger I had to send back as it was just fit only for bowling with. The waitress was not happy that I returned the burger, further, the drinks did not materialise until mid meal (they took the drinks of the final price). We, my sister and I agreed unanimously to stick with cooking our own vegan meals from now on.
Such a beautiful, comfy place with delicious vegan food. Even though my burger seemed small at first (and may seem like that in a pic), it was just enough for one hungry person (who doesnt eat little). I came early because Google Maps misguided me and I thought they were already open – during the week they are open from 12 pm, not 10 am. So I waited for a while inside and I enjoyed free WiFi. I ate in and also took a little snack to go. Everything was packed well. I really loved the chilli cheese tower burger and this dessert made of some kind of caramel and nuts ❤
Delicious food and great service, loved the blueberry mojito
Came here for the first time for a phenomenal fathers day brunch. My husband in particular, favours brunch as his favourite meal of the day, so has high expectations.Im vegan but hes not yet felt that this was one of the nicest brunches hes ever had. I would have to agree. We had scrambled ackee, berry pancakes, mushroom on sourdough and the blossom bowl between 3 of us (we were feeling greedy). At no point did it feel like we were missing out. The flavours and textures were perfectly balanced.Service was friendly and efficient.Cant wait to come again!
Had brunch here, food and service was very good. Ice cream with pancake was especially good.
Ive been there before and I have loved both times.
Delicious vegan menu. We sat outside in the sunshine and I had pancakes and Prosecco. Laid back, casual vibe. Food is very good.
The service was such a disappointment, ruined our whole excitement. My friend and I found this place, realised its vegan and took the chance to go.When we got there we were seated immediately. The ambiance was good, very small but it wasnt cramped. We ordered our food and was left waiting; Gone 20 minutes and no sign of drinks or starters, gone 30 minutes and we started to get even more hungry and left rather confused why its taking so long to get the starters or even our drinks out. We realised that a table outside got serviced before us and we arrived before them. Gone 45 minutes and we asked a lady working there where our food is and she said she will chase it up.Gone one hour and another lady comes to the table and says she completely forgot to process our food through the system!?? How!?? I mean when we got there, yes the resturant was full but after 20 minutes people started to leave and we became more visible so how did they forget our food???She apologises and says our food will arrive in 10 minutes. My friend and I were fuming, we wanted to leave but we were starving and were so excited to try the food. We sat waiting, still angry and fuming but decided to wait. The food arrives and I have to say, it wasnt the best vegan Ive had.Pancakes were nice but the macaroni and cheese was terrible and sent it back. Didnt taste nice at all.Rest of the food was OK not the best.I didnt enjoy it, I was starving but my appetite started to fade.Left disappointed. The lady still charged us in full even after raising the disappointment but she just shrugged and said sorry.Im not coming back here again. Poor service.
Small restaurant with friendly attentive staff and interesting menu. I only tried one of the mains (the Buddha bowlwhen here, but it genuinely could not be faulted. Every individual component was tasty and I would have smashed the whole thing back in 5 minutes if I hadnt had company!
Wow - a staple visit every time I go to London and Comptoir V never disappoints. Cosy spot, friendly attentive staff and incredible food.
I love the fact that is Vegan. I am not but wanted to give it a try. It is Morrocan insired and the people are lovely. We ordered the banana curry, spice Island curry, vegan prawns in a stick sauce and a cashnew mac and cheese. Both curries came with saffron rice but you could swap this for a bread if you wanted. Our drinks were a peanut butter milkshake and a glass of wine. The milkshake came in a very small milk bottle. And in regards to the food the main item we enjoyed were the vegan prawns which is make with jackfruit. The food was not terrible but it lacked alot of seasoning for me. It was a nice experience as we wanted to try something new. From what we ordered came to around £55 which I think is quite pricey for what is was in my opinion.
Really enjoyable vegan food - service was excellent and a really cosy atmosphere. I would highly recommend!
I came here with my friends a couple of weeks back. The food here is awesome. I would strongly recommend the jackfruit shawarma- that was great. My friends got the burgers and the vegan Mac and cheese, they said that was amazing as well. The ambience of the place is generally really comfortable and nice. Would definitely come here again.
This is absolutely one of my favorite vegan restaurants in the whole world! In fact it’s the only place that is comparable is Crossroads in West Hollywood that is almost impossible to get into and costs $100 a head! The flavors here are very delicate and varied and the brunch is amazing…I can’t remember the exact dish but it was an “egg” type scramble done with Moroccan spices. The place itself is cozy and the decor is cute with a few exotic flourishes. The service is great too; we spoke to the lovely owner, and we are dreaming of coming back when we’re next in the UK!
A beautiful Moroccan inspired restaurant based right near the overground station. The food is exquisite and full of flavour; I would recommend the All Out breakfast and Berry pancakes from the brunch menu. The service is A1, even when sat outside.
With my wife being vegetarian and myself being a meat eater I wasnt sure I would like the food. How wrong was I the everyone loved the shrimp, jackfruit nuggets, all day breakfast, smoothies and best of all for me...Im allergic to dairy so I went to town... chocolate cheese cake (I could eat this every day), chocolate pancake stack and salted caramel ice cream. All highly recommended. The staff and service was great and I will definitely go back. Just need to put in a few rounds at the gym before hitting the cheese cake....hmmm chocolate cheese cake!!!!
Amazing service! Very friendly and welcome staff. Great aesthetic and decor. Food was great quality! Definitely recommend ✅
Best Vegan Brunch in the World ! 🥰
Update: Came here two more times since first posted because I love this place so much. Service remained quite good albeit sometimes a bit slow if they have a lot of orders. The second time I came I got the Moroccan Buddha bowl but substituted the ghife bread for the quinoa. I really liked this particularly the curried chickpeas. The aubergine zaalock this time had a smokier taste. Didn’t care for the caramelized onions (quite sweetor the sautéed spinach (rather bland). Also got the hummus beiruty without the chillis. Enjoyed this a lot too. The third time I came, I got the jackfruit shawarma. Was good, not that spicy which I liked, but the serving was quite small and not that filling considering the price. The fries were a pretty small portion although they were done well. The jackfruit had a lot of flavor. Got a side of fried plantains which I didn’t think were that good. They were barely ripe so rather plain.Still would come back here but I wouldn’t order the shawarma or plantains again.—————This place came highly recommended to me. Was surprised to find that it is quite small. But food and service are amazing. Really good serving sizes.Had the dynamite shrimp which is one of their signature dishes. Very realistic and flavorful. The aubergine zaalock was also recommended. Not as good as the shrimp. Was quite spicy and not smokey. Came with some really good pita bread to mop up all the sauce. The ghife bread was my absolute favorite thing!!! So flaky and chewy. Definitely going to go back just because of this alone.Had their Moroccan pancakes for dessert. Also very good. Uses ghife bread that’s stuffed with biscoff spread. That alone would be sweet but the ice cream thats served with it isn’t sweet so went very well. The presentation of this one in particular was very very nice.
Absolute perfection! Couldn’t be better food!!(Music choice was a bit tiffy tho 😉)
Amazing food, Amazing service all topped off with a great ambience. The dessert are a must to finish off with.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Service was fast. Food tasted really good! I would come again. The decor inside was modern and pretty.
I was so excited to go to let comptoir as i heard many great things. I didnt have such a great experience and the food was ok not as good as what i had expected and the main dish i went for wasnt even being served - only weekends (they should state this on their website!)
Amazing food, friendly and helpful staff. Place is very cosy but will definitely be back!
Great outdoor seating, the sriracha prawns were amazing ! The Kentucky jack burger was nice but it fell apart very easily and lacked flavorWe also got bring back the Mac which has delicious ribs !The only real dissatisfaction was the the service time , but definitely worth the wait!
We had a very tasty lunch at Comptoir V. there was seating outside but we happily sat out front and enjoyed a delicious ‘it’s no jerk’ burger, juicy ‘Kentucky fried jack’ burger, skin on fries and amazing cashew Mac n Cheese. Eco aware takeout packaging and service was great. I can’t wait to be able to eat in soon👌🏾
Lovely, delicious food, presented well. Menu is full of choice. Drinks could be bigger for price. Slow service, friendly waitress. Would visit again and save room for dessert.
Vegetarian and vegan heaven! So many options and pretty much everything we ordered was delicious. Will definitely be going back again. Check it out
Good vegan food with a wide choice on the menu. Definitely recommend the patties, they tasted fantastic. Great flavours. Dishes a little on the small side.
Great food & friendly staff :the price is reasonable and I always enjoy going to this restaurant. Spicy beetroot hummus is must have. They offer Shisha as well.
UPDATE: food poisoned by their Lamb Tangine. So far, spent the two days on the toilet.Ordered food with a waiter... 5 minutes later another waiter comes to take my order and tells us they haven’t had cous cous for the last 5 days. Food is overpriced. Charged us full 20% VAT even though they only pay 5%. I asked them why and waiter got upset.
So, what of the question of Le Comptoir serving "authentic Moroccan and Lebanese cuisine"? Well, given the way in which the tagines were presented, including the depth of flavour achieved in all three, and given how impressive the starters were, wed say pretty darn authentic. It was certainly some of the best tagines weve had in London, and comparable to the ones weve had at Zayane in Notting Hill which is on the Michelin Guide.Surprisingly, this restaurant is a relatively unknown one within Londons Halal restaurant scene; but one that deserves far more recognition for its uncompromising flavours. In fact, one of the starters, viz. the Chicken Pastilla, could just be in the running for our end of year awards, it was that good.Menu RecommendationDrink - Apple, Mint & LemonStarter - Chicken PastillaMain - Any of the Tagines
It was good but not incredible. The waitress was really nice and the food was quick. Not sure if we didnt choose the right dishes but nothing but the jackfruit nagets was impressive. We asked for two cocktails a blueberry mojito(not really goodand the special almond one (that was good). Average price. Nice place to go for lunch/dinner if youre around
Great atmosphere and the food was awesome. A little place to have a nice dinner with family or friends. Great service team. Le Comptoir great restaurant.
A lovely meal at a very cosy place. The service was okay but the timing was a bit off at times, but that was compensated for by enthusiasm and a bunch of quirky details. I was more impressed by the small plates than the mains, next time I think I will go for a selection of smaller nibbles. You sit quite closely to your neighbouring tables, which is brings a communal feeling
Friendly and nice quirky details in presentation such as the bread basket was a fez. Went on a weekday and was happy we booked a table. It swiftly got busy. The small plates were all magnificent. The mains were good but not as spectacular. Will definitely go again.
I think the food may be good in general but my mixed grilled plate was closer to charcoal than to food. The waiter was nice and the second main we had was good. May give it another try
Food is GREAT, service kind of weird or maybe my timing was bad..dont know. Was sitting there for sometime before someone came and took order and then again after sometime another person came with the menu and was about to take order. But overall great food decent price.
Thank you everyone at Comptoir VI came here this evening with a good friend and all I can say it , OMG what a superb find , firstly the setting very nice not too big not too small we sat outside was a glorious summer evening we drank cold San Miguel and were attentively looked after by the lovely lovely staff I think Naomi was our main host. The food is varied , fresh and inventive we had the Hummus Trio with Falafel and something I have never had before which was Jackfruit and now I’m hooked 😍 .For mains we had a vegetable Tagine a which was delicious and the Oreo cheesecake minus cheese for desert , the whole evening deserves 6 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I will definitely be coming back with the rest of my family. Thanks again to everyoneOh and the bill was super reasonable #winning
Absolutely AMAZING place!!!!! 🤩 The food is some of the best food I have ever eaten! The staff is super nice and friendly. Just so good. I wish I could have tried the dessert too because it all looked so delicious but I stuffed myself with the dinner. And I do not regret that! Because I’ll be back again here. Even if I have to fly all the way from Norway to come back I still will be back!
Really nice atmosphere! Lovely food! And great customer service 10/10
The main food was quite good but oh my gosh these desserts! They beat everhing. Do yourself a favour and try Moroccan pancakes.the place is fully vegan, staff is very friendly, place is quite cozy and small but has a good vibe to it. And really, just get yourself a dessert!
We can here last night for dinner. We didn’t have a booking but were able to be seated at the bar immediately and told a table would be available in 45 minutes. We ordered a cocktail and the tempura ‘prawns’ whilst we waited. Unfortunately there was a online booking which they hadn’t received so we ended up eating at the bar. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful in recommending the best dishes to try! For mains we had the return of the Mac and the it’s no jerk burger. I’ll be back again for sure as there was lots I wanted to try on the vegan menu and the cocktails were amazing. I tried punch punch and the ginger sour. The ginger sour was my favourite!
Food tastes delicious, completely different from the others vegetarian restaurants I have been to. The place is not so big but it is cosy and the service was pretty good. It was not necessary to make a reservation.I had a portion of Jackfruit nuggets, a portion of dynamite shrimp, a its no jerk burger and some Moroccan pancakes. I highly recommend it.
The place is beautiful, the food is delicious and the service is outstanding. What more could you want?I dont know what they do to those mushrooms, but they are indeed magical. So is the mac & cheese, although you might be disappointed if youre expecting it to taste like something bought from the supermarket and cooked in 3 minutes. Think of it like a fancy version. Its also not as creamy as, say, the one from Young Vegans, but I dont think its in any way less good. :)Will definitely be coming back to try the dynamite vegan shrimp (and then everything else)!
Great tasting vegan shrimp, kale, mushroom ribs. Mac & cheese a little dry and the carrot puree was cold. Great variety of drinks available. Id go back just for the vegan dynamite shrimp.
The food was amazing. Very friendly staff. Great experience. The desert with baclava, ice cream and nutella was lovely. Definitely will go back again.
