Tower Festival Headland, Promenade, Blackpool FY1 1AP, Blackpool
Comedy Carpet - Tourist attraction in Blackpool, United Kingdom
To stand there in sunshine read the words is an innocent pleasure
Did not go in but had a good look people said they had been and excellent
Great piece of art, define funny moments written on it
It is what it is. Blackpool is tacky, dirty and disgusting. If you are thinking of going, dont bother.
Enjoyed reading the floor lol my son took a beautiful picture 📸
A massive work of art that displays some of the best comedians around
Dirty.. Short staffed cider tadted watered down .. Dont go
Blackpool front looks loads better, its much improved
The red arrow shows 2022 The best shows of the year in Blackpool
Great place to see all the stars.
Very busy to get by because of the airshow. But I think it could do with a bit of a clean because theres a lot of dirty marks
Under a pop concert venue when we visited . Disappointed as it was one of the reasons for our visit
Love Blackpool, stayed in lovely b&b for 1 night while we attended pier jam(Allendale in Albert road )30/07/22. However pier jam not so muchNo disabled toilets with running water(I had emailed in advance to ask if there were any disabled toilets, and was told yes there would be)No running waterNo hand sanitizerToilets FULL of empty drug containersNo real searchesSniffer dogs were FAKEThey profiled peopleI need to carry anti sickness meds with me, the security cleared them without even looking in the box or actually at the tabletsI could of carried all sorts in !Drinks & food ques weren’t too bad to be fair, couple be better, considering they are aware of how many will be attending, surely the more staff you put on the more drinks/food you’ll sell 🤷♀️ NOT A festival of any sorts, no festival vibe, no stalls, no extras NO WRISTBANDS, it’s not a festival without wristbandsI’m aware it’s not a seated event however, being as it’s run from 2pm-11pm & once your in you can’t leave, a small dry seating area would of being lovely just for half hour while we caught our breath, had something to eat and the carried on, not asking for tables and chairs, I’d cop a squat if the floor was dry !VIP is what’s that ????We were well and truly RIPPED OFF now we still don’t know the real reason why we were SOLD vip,at an extra cost, only to find when we arrived, there was NO VIP, I got 3 different answers of members of staff1VIP was last night (totally different event, that was called hellfire or something, different acts etcwe didn’t have tickets for the Friday only the Saturday.2VIP had to be cancelled !( they gave no reason why it was cancelled and we never received any form on communication from #pierjam or skiddle regarding any cancellations)3“O did you get done by the VIP SCAM?”Now I honestly have no idea if any of those excuse are actually real reasons or whether there is another ?Because lots of attendees have asked the same question“Why no VIP?” And as of today#pierjam nor #skiddle have not given any reason why we paid extra for VIP for did not receive it !!Would love any answer to this pleaseI eventually got to front of stage, 1 row of young ladies in front of me, my issue here is…. There was a bit of scuffling and bullying and scrapping up the front, but there wasn’t 1 security guard in front of the railings !! If anyone had been taken ill or passed out, the only person who would see would be the artist on the stage and his crew!!! Disgusting !!!!!Prices of drinks were as to be expected so can’t complain about that. £4 for a big hotdog was great value (independent trader)My main concerns for any future #pierjam events isAno disabled facilitiesBno running water or hand sanitizerCVIP SCAM- paid for something we didn’t receiveDyou call THAT security ? Seriously ?Seriously Blackpool council you are part blame for this, you need to make sure your letting decent event organisers onto your grounds. You need to go check that what they say will be there is actually thereYou need to go and make sure it has basic human needs met !!No pier jam for me again !!Blackpool 5*#pierjam nil points 👎
Attended a ticketed event
Lots of great comedy quotes from all our favourite British comedians and great views of the tower, piers and the Blackpool seafront.
Great place to reminisce all the funny catch phrases of some great comedians plus most top comedians names
What a superb place to go and read all the names and jokes and past names of people who used to be comedians and actors and actresses.
Free Promanade entertainment with the attractive views of the Irish sea & magnificent structure of Blackpool Tower. Situated in between the North Pier & Central Pier.Tram stops are near it so it is easy to park vehicles & get trams along the Prom or walk.Shopping center is up the side streets behind BlackpoolTower.
The Comedy Carpet situated on Blackpools North Promenade directly infront of the famous "Blackpool Tower," is a very interesting read! Listing comedians from decades ago to present day, with famous quotes from the various artists. A pleasure to read on a sunny day!
This place is free and on the prom facing the Blackpool tower. Its all news articles and funny jokes on the floor. U can stand on it or sit near it. Children can go here. Its right next to the beach iswell and not fair from the piers
The Comedy Carpet is amazing, & every time I visit Blackpool I spend a few minutes reading another section... one day Ill finish it!
Quite a nice place along the beach front in Blackpool. 😊
What a great day we had picnic, there was music, and dancing fantastic
The comedy carpet hosted soul in motion charity event. A fantastic day for a great cause.
Great Northern soul get together on Saturday....every age group, very diverse all participating in good friendly fun.
Loved it northen soul on blackpool promenade o yeh red line
Comedy greats the like will not bee seen again in this woke society which is a shame. The days when comedy was just that, comedy.
A great place to hang out & chill, in the middle of the promenade under the shadow of Blackpool Tower overlooking the Irish Sea with unspoilt sea views. With seating situated on all sides, theres always a seat to be had. With takeaway food within a 50yd walk either north or south, grab some food, take a seat any enjoy the comedy carpet. You could spend hours with your head down Reading all the crazy whacky quotes from your favourite comedians over the years. Theres bus & tram stops within 50yds of the carpet, but unfortunately theres no actual parking allowance available for cars!!! Its also one of the best viewing points along the prom for the major festivities that Blackpool hold around the year.
Great modern attraction thats (obviouslycompletely free. Can be viewed in its full extent from Blackpool Tower.
Very interesting concept and good laugh!Good way to recognise all comedians and comic writers for their work and share the message of laughter with all 👌
Part of the furniture of the Promenade now, this is an amazing piece of artwork, plus the lightpool shows during the illuminations and the Christmas by the Sea event taking place around the carpet are superb too.
Considering the excellent and very extensive library of British humour and comedians on offer to showcase on this attraction I was a little disappointed with what they chose. There wasnt even anything from People just do nothing. Just a load of clichéd gags and overused punchlines. Not even a bit of blue for dad.I do like the shape of it though, that did make me smile.
Here is one free attraction in Blackpool that is well worth visiting. Taking up part of the Promenade opposite the Tower this public artwork is there to make you smile. It is crammed full of well recognised quotes and jokes from comedy legends old and new. Created in a haphazard, multi typeface colourful patchwork it is a sight to see and mull over and it will bring a smile to your face.
Lots to look at and see, and can still be enjoyed at night during the illuminations
Lovely location to view the tower. And we were lucky to be there when the fireworks were on which was an amazing show
One of the lovely place to visit again and again, plenty of tourists attractions,
Possibly the best tribute to British comedy that there is. If you’re a comedy fan you could well spend hours here.
Its so funny remembering the sketches and shows all these lines came from. I loved looking at the comedy roll of honour on the edge of the carpet. Location is great. Great views of the tower and the beach. Love love love
Placed in front of the tower, looks really good in the dark. The Mrs went roller blading around it
While photographing the Blackpool Tower from a distance, we just stepped on to a place that we later learnt was called Comedy Carpet. It was a pleasant surprised and we spent over half an hour walking over it and reading various captions. Very interesting and at places, quite funny. Just spend some time on it and you wont regret. With sea on one side and the majestic Blackpool Tower on the other, its a perfect setting for something like this.
Really good, great to look down on from the tower viewing level.
Id been working just outside Blackpool but had time before my train from Blackpool North. Took a 10 stroll down to the Tower and found myself walking across the Comedy Carpet. Great experience.
A lovely throwback to some of the great comedians. I would definitely recommend a visit.
I am with IAM RoadSmart and we had a display along with members of all the emergency services. It was a good day and the carpet brought back memories of some of the greats of stage and music hall (yes I do remember music halls as Im quite an old bu**ger).
My kids loved it,, a really well thought out bit of landscape,, will be returning soon as Blackpool is always good fun for all the family
Had a fantastic day northern soul and motown dancing in aid of cancer charities on the comedy carpet been every year great day out 1pm til 7pm every bank holiday end of may look it up on facebook! 😎✊ktf
Definitely something to see when in Blackpool.- Located right in front of the tower (photo from top linked)- Some brilliant quotes from some great comedians.
Laugh carpetBlackpoolI saw this from Blackpool tower and was like: what the heck is this?! When we got down from the tower, we went across the street to the big painted area. I read and read and read and read. Some things were funny, some…I frankly didn’t get…some were cultural (ie: if you aint from here, you aint gonna get itand some were…just dumb. BUT it is an impressive tribute to the comedians who kept Blackpool on the comedy entertainment map.
Nice place to take photos ! Freezing cold December day but we still enjoyed a walk along the beach front . Too cold to stand and read the comedy carpet but it made a nice feature .
Visited by chance as I didnt know this was here. Plus I didnt know what it was, but it look interesting and glad I took the time to gaze upon it.
