Bustling post-work pub with a heated outdoor area, British classic pub menu and choice of cask ales.
Dont order nachos!! Drink the wine and catch up with your mates instead.. Friendly pub... just dont bother with the nachos....
Nice spacious wee pub. Comfortable and in a nice street setting. Perhaps lacking in some of the quirks or history of other pubs in the area but serves its purpose well. Wide selection of real ales, craft beers and gins. My pint of Greene King IPA was well poured and tasty. Would visit again.
Nice pub, very quiet when I visited but it was drizzling and lunch time, great size beer garden in the rear. Some of the bar staff are nice and friendly others arent so much.
Chilled pub although very popular. The outside terrace is a great place to have a few drinks and catch up with friends.
Excellent service from the pub especially from Chloe who looked after us (over 20 peopleamazingly. Definitely recommend!
In town for a short while and wanted somewhere for nice lunch before heading home from Victoria Station. First review I read was awful and ghe pub was empty on arrival but other reviews were great so we stayed. So glad. Food was home made and cooked well. Beer perfect. Service fabulous and friendly.... others arrived after we did. All in all a little gem! Forget the bad review... this place is great.
Filthy, grubby and minging.Glasses are filthy and you stick to the tables.
Worst pub in London. Dirty and stinky inside. Warm beer. Toilets are not cleaned. Rude staff and also terrible slow service. The worst Green King pub Ive been to.
Very nice to sit in garden. I expect everyone is charging over £6 a pint now - so cant really complain about that.
Nice and clean. We had a beer and a meal.
Greene King pub with good sized seating area at the back. Not far from Victoria if you are killing time waiting for a train...
Lots of seating inside and out and very quick and friendly service.
Nice pub, got very busy in the evening with people finishing work. Has an open outdoor seating area at the back, a little noisy during our visit as construction is going on next door but presumably that’s only temporary.
Nice place, but the staff are really unfriendly like they hate their job
Excellent service by friendly helpful staff good beer choice enjoyed 2 for 1 on peroni good selection of food aswell definitely be back again😊😊😊
Lovely pub with a fantastic beer garden, great beer and lots of food to choose from. Staff are friendly and helpful, will definitely visit again!
Great selection of gins! Tried a few!! The outdoor area could do with a bit of work, but more than suitable for a bevvie in the sun
Small cramped pub with outdoor area. Rude service
Nice pub with a good selection of draft beer however it is far too crowded on Friday afternoons.
Very nice pub and a very good meal had by all the family very busy 😋 😀
Really great London pub. Lots of character, decent pub food and well kept beer. Very helpful staff too. Recommended
Great place. Fabolous food. Lot of drinks selection. The best thing: a beautiful backyard... Looking forward to visit you guys again...
I am very well versed in the pubs of Westminster and Victoria, and tbh theyre all a bit meh, but will never have a problem getting people in so dont have to try hard. This place isnt any cheaper than those nearby, but unusually for this part of town does have a beer garden - of the concrete variety.
Went there for St Patricks day, the idea of finding the clovers to get a shot was very original. We had a very good time!
We came here for family lunch. The food was excellent. Fish and chips with greave and the veggie sharer tasted fantastically. I cannonly recommend this place. Very nice seating + outside area👍
Went in on Thursday evening. Two pumps werent in use and there was a table of really drunk loud lads at a table who the staff had to speak to. Not a pub I would regularly drink in.
Nice looking pub but both of my vodka and cokes were totally diluted. I might have looked young, but it would take a couple of seconds to check my ID?I left feeling ripped off and belittled, nice pub so it was a shame.
Brilliant staff, great food. They dont have high chairs or a extensive childrens menu, but I dont think their public usually have kidsEven though, they accommodated brilliantly for my kids.
Great place. Massive selection of drinks. Food reasonably priced. Nice cocktails for a pub. They even have a garden which is bigger than the pub. Had lots of fun.
The pub has a wonderful atmosphere and is a really nice place to go for a drink after work, with the bar staff really adding to the welcoming vibe. I have noticed that management do seem to be a bit harsh at times though, so it would be nice to see a change there soonAll in all a brilliant pub to visit however
Great pub with nice staff, especially Yuli, who is really friendly and remembers our usual drinks whenever we’re around!
A great local pub, which always a good atmosphere. The food is great (the burgers in particular!and reasonably priced. The bar staff (Yuli especiallyare all very nice and friendly, which contributes much to the atmosphere - I highly recommend stopping by if you’re ever in the area!
A lovely pub in the centre of London. The best place to go to after a busy day at work. Very cheerful and talkative bartender, Yuli, adding to the welcoming atmosphere and excellent service.
Great pub and ambiance - I love to come here. However peeking behind the curtain you can feel the pressure from management on the staff and it’s not pleasant for anyone. It’d be nice to see that change.
Great local pub, just as I remember them 30 years ago. Good atmosphere and traditional drinks. Lovely food which was well priced for the area. We will be back. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Nice pub in side streets between Victoria and St Jamess Park in Central London. It has a good sized outdoor beer garden, or more properly, yard
We stumbled on this place whilst wondering the back streets of Victoria and it was a lovely find. As the sun was shining we sat in their garden, had a couple of very decent glasses of chardonnay, chatted to the lovely staff and left feeling we had visited a country pub. The interior of the pub was spotless and would visit again. Highly recommended!
Not often I review places but this week me and my family visited the colonies and received the best service and advice on things to do locally. The manager of this place deserves an award! So clean and organised!
Great outside sitting area and delicious food.
Such a lovely pub! The food is great, and they have my favourite Monkey Shoulder whiskey. Oh and did I mentioned the BEST beergarden in central London? A nice steak, a whiskey, maybe lit up a cigar in the beautiful garden! <3 Sandy and the team is also really nice and always helpful.
Absolutely loved the atmosphere! The food was great! I order the pulled pork nachos for a stater, and the salt beef burger with fries, and the fish and chips, which were delicious! Also the staff members who served us (Yuli and Humzamade it such a memorable experience, such welcoming smiles and very attentive will definitely be returning!
Very pleasant out of the way pub. Decent selection of drinks, with very nice beer garden.
Fantastic service, more joined our group so due to covid restrictions they moved us outside to accommodate us.Friendly service, reasonable prices and a clean pub. Can’t expect anymore. Will be back very soon!
Attended this pub with a friend for lunch, it was a amazing. The drinks and food are fairly priced, the food was spot on. it hs an amazing cute little garden where you can sit smoke Nd drink. Perfect if your looking to have a family meal or just a chill out with your friends. The staff are friendly and amazing service!!! I highly recommend this cute little pub for work dos or even a family day.
A lovely local pub for an after work pint. Can be quite a mixed crowd of civil servants, tourists and squaddies from the Wellington Barracks. Take a seat and enjoy the cheerful hospitality!
This lovely pub is one of my regular venue and I was very pleased to know it was opening for the outdoor dinning. Our first outing there it was absolutely lovely to see the familiar faces of the team and the manager Sandy.Very Covid safe and delicious food and plenty of laughter.Would recommend this hidden gem!
Little gem of a pub with a cute little garden. Traditional pub fare executed well. A friendly welcome with smiley, happy staff.
It looks good and it has a good garden which is pretty rare around the area (which is why it gets crowded early). They do a decent range of drinks also but I didnt get a chance to try the food. The let down is unfortunately the staff. Lack of knowledge meant that at one point 3 staff were trying to locate a wine bottle for the same customer whilst everyone waited to be served. Generally slow and drinks served in warm glasses due to lack of rotation. Sort the staffing and its a great little place.
Quaint pub, serving typical English food and drinks. Good prices, especially for blackberry Pins. Yum! Only problem is the cue to order. No table ordering, so get 2 drinks early on!
The Colonies is a busy old pub with beer garden between Victoria Station and St James Park underground station. It offers a decent range of real ales including those from the Ben Truman brewery. A pub food menu is available.
