Great historical place
It is a beautiful view from both levels! Definitely check it out if you are in Colonia del Sacramento. Can be a little crowded with folks going up and coming down at the same time, but everyone was great about taking turns.
MoreBeautiful place to visit even at night.
Very very nice
Beautiful monument placed in the middle of a beautiful old town very well preserved. Worth a visit!
MoreBeautiful place, I love it
Wonderful views over looking this small port town. A pleasant experience.
Great views well worth the visit . Very low cost
What a handsome thing. The entrance ticket costs 1 USD, I had with me a 100 banknote and the ticket lady wasnt able to give me change. Pity, wasted opportunity.
MoreLove this town and lighthouse. Streets are cobbled and buildings are stunning to look at.
MoreInside the heart of and antique Spanish/Portuguese city.
Nice place. Entrance fee 30 UYU (~ 0.75 usd)
Nice lighthouse in the beach front, only problem the lots of turists, you not make a normal picture in here.
MoreExcellent place to visit!
Worth the money! Be aware that the steps are steep and to reach the top you have to go up a narrow ladder.
MoreSimple lighthouse but the surrounds are beautiful.
Best view all around for only $30 pesos pp. and only 118 steps! You may catch the ferry departing to Buenos Aires.
MoreThis is beautiful place have visit in the winter and in the summer. It’s great for kids and parents.
MoreGreat all round views from the top of this lighthouse. There are two levels, if you chose to go upto the second top level, make sure you have a good head for heights. Its a narrow tight staircase and little space to move around at the top. Additionally the railing around the top barely reached waist level for me. It would be all to easy to lose your balance if you lent over too far and fall. Keep back from the edge. Great views out to sea and across the old town. You can pay the small entrance fee in either Argentine or Uruguay Pesos.
MoreBeautiful setting, very nice and helpful local residents.
Good place but kids are not allowed. So couples with kids will have to take turns to go up and come down....
MoreA historical place.. with lots of house design by french..
The gem of Colonia del Sacramento which offers an excellent viewpoint from it’s peak. You can pay roughly 50 argentine pesos to climb up to the top, but it’s well worth the spend. The sweeping view across the shoreline and historic quarter are breathtaking. As a side note, it is a tight climb up, for those who are slightly claustrophobic. Additionally, it is high so do not look down if there is even slightly a fear of heights!
MoreYou can get a great beautiful view of Sacramento if you climb up. It worths go, really!
Moreits worth paying this nominal fee and climb to the top, the view is rewarding
Builted in a corner of the walls of an ancient church. Interesting view of the old town, the waters and Buenos Aires of you climb up. Strongly recommended
MoreIts ok you have a nice 360 view but you have to pay 60 pesos to go there.PS: Its really tricky to cross with someone else in the stairs. Better not be claustrophobic
MoreNice view of the beach and old streets from here
Be prepared to walk up a narrow spiral staircase to a small.platform. Nice views.
MoreColonia is a magnificent place! Great sight seeing and food.
Super crowded and usually had a line up. View is nice but not amazing.
An old lighthouse with amazing views of the area from the top. There are two floors to go out and enjoy the view. First you go up to the first one, wait there until whoever is on top goes down and then continue up to the second floor. Highly recommended and the cost to go up is very cheap. Make sure you have small change as they dont always have change to give back.
More+ Looks amazing from the outside, especially in the evening.- Children under 8 are not allowed (which is completely stupid, they could just have a "your children are your responsibility" sign).
MoreDefinitely worth the $25 pesos entrance fee. Its the highest point in the area and gives a really nice view of Colonia old town. Might be tough if you are afraid of heights. Sunset view would be great but likely very crowded.
MoreNice place
Nice view from the top. It is a bit to narrow to get to the top. Be prepared to make few stops along the way up because it is exhausting
MoreA good low price to climb the lighthouse and get a great view of the river plate estuary and colonia.
MoreIt is not so tall and the view from the top is not as great as what the other reviews feedback.
MoreYou can go up it!!! The view is ridiculous!
One of the must go places when you are visiting Colonia Del Sacramento. The light house in itself is very beautiful with a different design, most of the lighthouses are cylindrical in shape but this one is rectangular at the bottom and cylindrical at the top. We have to pay a nominal amount to go inside around 30-50 peso per person and they will allow very few people at a time . You will be allowed to go to the top rectangular part of the lighthouse first and then after sometime they will let you go to the topmost part and the view from there is breathtaking . You can see the whole Colonia from top of the light House .
MoreCool to see even at night. There is a nice e old building right next to lighthouse and you can take nice pics
MoreThe entrance to the lighthouse costs 25 pesos per person, but its worth it if you want to enjoy the stunning view of Colonia from the top.
MoreIt offers a wonderful views of this peaceful and quiet town.
Nice view of the town and of Buenos Aires skyline
The lighthouse of Colonia del Sacremento offers incredible views to those who choose to climb its steps to the top.
MoreIf you want a better view of the town then for a few dollars you can climb to the top of the lighthouse.
MoreBeautiful white lighthouse. You can visit the top for a view of the colonial town. Entrence is cheap.
MoreVery nice lighthouse in a very nice colonial town. I didnt go up to see the view though. Worth at least to pass by.
MoreWorth going up for a decent view of Colonia, but youll also realise when youre up there that there really isnt anything spectacular about a high up view of Colonia, the best views are had walking around the streets of the old town.
