Cute fountain that changes colours. Inside a trafficked roundabout

A fountain that does not escape attention in the centre of Kutaisi. Interesting, a bit kitschy. Too bad about the roundabout.

The place looks okay I suggest to spend time on other places.

I think it is one of the most eye-catching sites in Kutaisi. Gorgeous fountain with golden status located in a wide square in the city. You must use a wide angle lens to capture all of it in one frame, as its surrounded by the streets and you cant stand in a proper distance from it.

The Clochis square is a round about in kutaisi where you have to cross the road to sit and take pictures,it has some ancient sculpture and nice fountain. You can see Mcdonald here as well

The fountain is decorated with beautiful replicas of ancient Georgian art. Some of the original artwork was produced more than 3000 years ago. It is impressive to see this, by doing so the rich Georgian history is honoured.

Nice squire in a small-quite town!

I have never seen a fountain at a roundabout and this one is very unique. At night it looks beautiful with those colourful lights.

The fountain is located in the central part of Kutaisi, its a main square.The figures are replicas of the archaeological findings from ancient time.

In the middle of the city, on its main square stands an interesting fountain. It is decorated with enlarged models of archaeological artifacts found on the whole territory of Georgia. For example, the famous bronze sculpture “Tamada”, which dates back to the 7th century BC. In the Georgian language, “Tamada” means a leader of the “supra” feast table who proposes toasts. The main figure of the fountain represents a woman’s temple jewelry _ a magnificent model of antic time goldsmithery. Very interesting place.

Colchis fountain is located at historical central Square of Kutaisi, at different times there was, at first beautiful church, that communists destroy and put statue of Stalin, after 90is our government install there beautiful statue of king David the builder (which now is moved on top of agmashenebeli Avenue, which is great place for it). Our third president order to build this fountain, its really beautiful statues on fountain is copies of archeological golden manufacturers that they found around Imereti regions, original ones saved at museums of Kutaisi and tbilisi.Lets put the history away: colchis fountain, is one of the most beautiful construction at kutaisi, which is in between 10 places that you have to see when you visit Kutaisi.Dont forget to take picture there )))

The Colchis Fountain is the most beautiful ornament of the beautiful city of Kutaisi.

Beautiful fountain. Keep in mind its more of a round about. Therefore take care about local traffic. Georgians are crazy drivers, so take EXTRA care. Regardless, the fountain is beautiful and captures your eye straight away. Its next to a 24hrs McDonalds, so if you want some fast food with a view its perfect. Furthermore, If you manage to visit during late evening/night you will see its beautiful lighting showcasing the fountain.

The city centre for tourists presents the fountain - adorned with large copies of famouse gold jewelry, discovered in Vani archeological site. Its a pity the water was off during my visit. Even in the night you could see the glorious aura. Better visit it yourself

The fountain at first glance appeared a bit garish but on learning the sculptures that cover it were copies of medieval findings on excavating we began to appreciate it.Wedding entourages drive round and around it with horns tooting.

If you visited the National Museum in Tbilisi, you must have seen the ancient Colchis golden treasures exhibited there. The fountain gives you a chance to see larger copies of those. And is a marvelous spot. Yet, the city administration might consider improving pedestrian access to it, as its rather dangerous with all the unorganised traffic around.

A very elaborate fountain with cute golden animals inspired by local jewelry right in the center of Kutaisi. Well worth a visit, especially beautiful in the evening against the sunset colours. Lots of eateries and shops nearby too which makes it a nice place to visit. Be careful of the traffic though, as your eyes will be on the fountain!

One of the most beautiful places in Kutaisi. Nice photos at night and day.

Very interesting fountaing, especially liked the very original sculptures of animals. The theatre provides it with a perfect backround, although one has to be brave and lucky enough to get to the fountain since it is in the middle of a roundabout and to get there needs some courage since the traffic and drivers are something one has to simply experience.

Interesting place, there is an ancient art behind all these strange figures. Weird in the good way. I liked it
