High-end French cafe menu in trio of rooms with art nouveau, art deco and Victorian features.
My goodness what a difference.. Once, what was a well organised restaurant with well trained staff has now turned into a disorganised non cohesive restaurant with staff with no obvious formal training and a lack of understanding of a customers needs.. The “ meeter and greeter” was also checking in coats causing a huge queue at the door,,, We sat down to be told we had to be out in two hours… Nice and welcoming….Ordered drinks which took 20 minutes to arrive and as they were being delivered they were knocked to the ground smashing glass all over the place…. Another 10 minute wait for replacements…. Food was ok,, nothing to rave about…. Very mediocre service… Huge bill at the end of it all… Used to love going there,,, was a regular customer and looked forward to it… No longer…. 2/10……..👎
Delicious food and atmosphere. Clint Eastwood ordered a minty magnum for his pudding. Its an ice cream, Clint! It made his day.
Fully booked as always. Love catching up with friends at The Colbert pretending to be in Paris!
I would have put five stars a few years ago, but unfortunately certain dishes on the menu have now doubled in price and not all justify the price tag. Also some old classics such as the pancakes have been removed. Still a pleasant experience and atmosphere is great.
Love the atmosphere at this place. Not easy to get a table but well worth it. The bar and restaurant has very French old fashioned feel. The service is great.
WOW - Café Colbert is an absolute showstopper. My friend and I came here for dinner after seeing a show next door at the Royal Court Theatre and from the moment we walked in it was a 5* experience.Everything from the incredibly warm, friendly and attentive staff/service to the beautiful French bistro décor and of course the super delicious food made for a fantastic evening!I can highly recommend the stunning Côte de Boeuf served with French Fries (the best steak and chips Ive ever had in my lifeand their famous banana split dessert (which is perfect for sharing and brings back very happy childhood memories). My friend has the heritage tomato salad and the chicken paillard both of which he said were extremely tasty and fresh.Overall an outstanding dining experience - you can see why they are always full so make sure you reserve a table in advance.10/10 Highly recommended - Im always looking forward to coming back here again very soon
A fantastic French brasserie in London. One of the best steak Diane Ive had - a must order! The lamb is also nicely done very nicely. The place gets busy very quickly so do make a reservation.
An average evening. Please be careful and check your bill. We were charged for a bottle of wine, when we had a glass. Bill was presented for second time with no amendment. Then noticed that an advertised £19 burger when you add in the cheese and bacon offered and fries comes to £28!! Which is way too much for a burger, one piece of bacon, slice of cheese in a brioche bun with side order of fries!!
I loved the ambience, really old fashioned but great vibe. Staff friendly and service efficient. Bit on the pricey side but overall probably worth the experience
Art deco interior. Staff efficient and clean. Very nice. Only had coffee but would go back based on experience
Felt like being in Paris.. food service decor all great.. even better than real deal !! Escargot was a bit garlicky and over cooked but the smell of garlic, baguette and red wine .. o la la 😉
Come here every weekend for brunch and always impressed with great service and food. Atmosphere is lovely too. Suggest club sandwich and eggs.
We walked in without reservation on Wed night and it was fully booked. Staff was most helpful in finding a Terrace table for us. Food was scrumptious and well portioned.
Excellent customer service from initial booking enquiry to the end of a very relaxed and delicious lunch. Warm, courteous staff and the food top notch.....
When outside, one of the most attractive atmosphere in London. You can enjoy a nice drink and simply observing people in a very noble area. This is amazing. In terms of food, I couldn’t review as a 5 starts french restaurant. However very good, not so tasty – like beyond expectations.
Delicious food and solid service, great atmosphere and good wine list. Overlooks the bustle of Sloane Square and v convenient for the Royal Court or a shipping trip to Peter Jones.
I had read mixed reviews before my visit, particularly around indifferent service. The service was exemplary, attentive yet unobtrusive. The prix fixe menu was excellent. Delicious celeriac remoulade and sea bass on roasted veggies. My friend had the cheese soufle which I wish I had had! She was so pleased with it and with her tasty vichysoisse (sp?A happy pair left at 3.30pm. I didnt pay and it WAS pricy but you are in Sloane Square and we had a bottle of good wine and the portions and quality were very good indeed. I would happily return......
I ordered a French baguette with preserves and got a small dry toasted baguette that tasted like yesterdays bread. However the coffee was good. I ordered a black Americano and had a small pot of strong roasted coffee, enough for good size cup and top up. My colleague had a cooked breakfast which she said was ok.No photos as this was a meeting
We went in around 1830 on Bank Holiday Monday for a drink and perhaps a meal if we wanted to make a night of it. But the officious (youngfront of house staff told us we had to go to the bar and their attitude put us off, so we left. How different from the welcome we received everywhere in Brussels, Ghent, Antwerp and Mechelen on our tour around Belgium!
What a beautiful and distinguished French atmosphere in Colbert, Sloane Square. Delicious food and warm friendly service, the perfect place to meet up with lots of friends, as I did. The place is SO conveniently placed, buzzing, close by the tube station; a place to taste the best and watch the world go by!Thank you for a lovely, super "supper".Dr Noël
Colbert used to be part of the Corbin and Kings chain of facsimile restaurants including Zedel and The Delaunay but is now owned by Thai group, Minor International.Serving an all day brasserie type menu, Colbert is an uber trendy place in which to see and be seen, with prices to match. You could get away with a burger and chips, a decent beer and a nice cake for about £45but expect to splash out £70 p.h for a decent lunch including a glass of house wine. They also do a fairly bland set menu at £ 24.50 for two courses (£29.50 for 30).Portion sizes are generous and the cooking is accomplished if not spectacular. My Lemon Sole was a tad woolly and overcooked and the mash a bit gluey but its a nice set of rooms overlooking Sloane Square with a genuine "Deauville" feel.Service is very good (they even allow you to taste the house wine served by the glass before committing to it ...a nice touch.)Desserts were excellent, especially the patisseries and ice cream coupes.
Went with my mum for a very early dinner on a Sunday after some shopping. They lost our booking, and were frankly very rude to my mum. The blond lady host spoke to my mother - who is 70, very with it and sharp as a tack - as if she was an OAP, explaining to her that she had clearly misunderstood what the reservations person had said. The host insisted that they must have told just show up, but I was with my my mum when she was on the phone making the booking, and that was not the case. They pushed us to the side, and made some ridiculous scene about finding a table in a not very full restaurant. Once they had located the table, they made a big deal about leaving at a certain time - not even 90 mins after we sat down. Whilst the host was awful and rude, the waiter was absolutely lovely and the food was fine. Its just a strange atmosphere, pushy, rushed and frankly seemed ageist in approach to me. We will not be going back. Shame, as its a great location. But not worth it.
We stopped here for breakfast after the most unsatisfactory experience at Cote. What a difference!Kind, attentive staff, great service, delicious breakfast. Thank you for making us feel welcome and valued. Your kindness shown to us turned our morning around from negative, to feeling positive.Thank you.
A disappointing return to this restaurant after many years. Chef was trying to be too clever with presentation instead of just delivering good food. It failed. The service response to complaint was excellent but I would not return.
Very disappointed with the food. 2 of us had crepes with ham and softly fried eggs. The eggs were overcooked so they took them away and brought us new ones unfortunately these were just as bad - an awful dish. They did take them off the bill but we would have been happier with good food
One of my favourite places for years. I think the service today was not quite top notch. I was told I had the table only until 11.15am but wasnt served until 1055 and then it was a rush even though I left at 12.10pm - I felt rushed when I didnt need to be. The senior waiter rushed and slammed our coffees down and the less senior guys were rushed off their feet. But food was great and had I been in a hurry, I would probably have cared less. I will be going again next week !!! 4 stars not 5 as usual
Nice French brasserie. We had a simple lunch of salad and artichoke. It was good. Nice ambiance. Great service. My only complaint is that the men’s restroom smelled of stale urine. There’s really no excuse for that.
I am local and it’s use to be my favourite place for food and drinks, mainly because of location. Now will look for new favourite. They closing at different time every day without informing customers. I came to have drink outside, was waiting at the table. They forgot about me then say they already done last order and I have to move inside. I did, however people was drinking outside for another 30 min. Inside was exactly the same story, they forgot to tell me when was last order and again refused the drink. Then I was arguing with manager for another 40 minutes because of it. I could have a drink, finish it and live by that time, but manager prefer not to serve me and make me upset. It’s really depends on a day who is in charge would you have your food and drinks or not. What is interesting, you have nowhere to complain. Very inattentive, rude and cold management. Making people upset. I would not recommend this place anymore.
Good service, good food, good atmosphere- bright, clean and airy - yet still bustling. The only issue I have is booking online with cc details - even for 2, but so far i have loved meeting friends/ family for breakfast/ brunch and if you sit outside its a great place to soak in the atmosphere on Sloane Square, or be seen :).
Very busy restaurant. We managed to get a table and had a very amiable waiter who made the meal enjoyable and guided us to our selections. We had a very enjoyable evening , and though they were busy , we were not rushed.
Super place to have some lunch, friendly staff, good value too
Exceptional service, very cosy athmosphere, everything was delicious. Totally recommend for a special occasion.
One of my favorite pancakes ever… what’s going on with that bacon! If you are near Chelsea or Harrods, you are almost there. I’ll return a 100 times.
One of the best restaurants in London. Fantastic food at reasonable prices, I only ever had one cocktail there but it was excellent, beautiful space, good atmosphere, consistently great service.Sadly no longer run by Corbin & King, but I very much hope the restaurant will stay as it is!
Love coming here for date nights. Well prepared, retro French dishes and well oiled service. Always seem to leave feeling a bit merry 😏
Didnt book the table for 2 in the morning, but could sit outside which was unexpected. We were together with our dog. The portions were big, black coffee pot contained 1.5 cups. 2 Cappuccino, black coffee, 2 avocado toasts with poached eggs and 2 pain au chocolat - £60, which is quite expensive. Great service, nice views, enjoyed the place!
I pass by this place so many times, but finally I decided to go in for a little munch and I have; to say it was perfect. The smoke salmon and the Nicoise salad are sooo good.. Delicious!Incredible staff and great atmosphere...
I simply love it. Nice lively spit. French touch. Good drinks.
Popped in for a quick lunch, the Côte de boeuf was very nice however the portion size seem smaller than expected quite thin. Duck confit was ok, duck seemed a little on the dry side. However the orange braised endives were very nice.
Entertaining pictures on the wall, great atmosphere, very attentive & friendly staff, down to earth food done brilliantly, probably the best ham omelette I’ve ever had!
I really like this place. So traditional, feels like proper Paris. I like the ambience, cutlery, choice of wine is quite good. And as with many places in London, recommend to book in advance :)
Looks like old paris rich bistro that must have been really popular in the 70’s 80’s which is what you are looking for if you go to Colbert. I didn’t try much of the food and will certainly go back as the staff and the atmosphere were really enjoyable.Loved having at the bar quite some time with a good old fashioned. The madeleines were savoury and tasty and the eggs royale were also really beautiful when they arrived.I will recommend if you miss france in London or if you are looking for a piece of france in london
Like being in Paris for 90 minutes. Great buzzy atmosphere like how you find a French style brasserie to be. Nice attentive service done properly and of course great food. Top place and thoroughly recommended.
Excellent place who loves classic London. Character interior, good food and the most important thing - the same pre-pandemic staff, familiar faces. No tourists, most of the customers are locals. Superb!
The duck confit was fall off the bone good, but a little too fatty, felt a little gross after. Delicious cheesecake.
Gorgeous restaurant , interiors are fantastic. But the food is average need more menu items and the staff were not that helpful
Pop up bar in Sloan Square. Small range of wines and Crepes served at table outside.
My partner booked this place for my birthday dinner as it allowed dogs. The food did not disappoint. Oysters were fresh, escargots were tasty and my lobster was delicious. The octopus looked and smelt amazing and so was the steak. I couldn’t fault this place for food however, as we had our dog with us we could not dine in the restaurant which is understandable but the seats in the bar area was very tight and really wasn’t comfortable at all. We got the car seats which isn’t uncomfortable but I can’t stretch my legs without hurting my partner and there was just not a lot of room and it was very hot. They also didn’t offer to take our coats (not sure if it’s because we were seated in the bar area or notbut due to tight space we really had no where to put it. One of the managers came to offer water and a treat for Louis which was really nice. All in all, it was a good restaurant and food was amazing. Would def come back.
A famous French bresarie in the middle of Chelsea, by Sloane Square, serving traditional French dishes alongside British and Continental dishes. Great atmosphere and vibes, great for a sitting with your loved one over a glass of wine - sparkling or a Rose. Have tried the escargot- wasnt that impressed - other dishes looked pretty mouthwatering
Lunch review: salad was very mediocre, does not match the price. My waitress was not friendly at all: I asked what can she recommend as I have never been to a place, she asked me in a rude way what I want (me at, fishand after I responded that I wanted fish she said "What fish?" Which was very confusing. After I ordered a salad with chicken I got salad without chicken...So I decided that maybe I should not leave tips but guess what - it is already included in a bill! Will not come back again probably.
