Coffs Harbour Regional Museum in Kempsey
Description
Great little museum but very small but the cinema room was a great trek back in time. Free to attend so give a small donation as the staff were so friendly and helpful its a must to do in Coffs Harbour
MoreStep back in time. A real eye opener. Loved it.
Its worth a visit and watch the newsreel its a flashback.
Small but nice museum with info re the area - indigenous history, maritime etc
Even though it has a for sale sign on the front it is still open
Compact museum well set out. The video highlights early days of Coffs and is very entertaining.
MoreWould be good if there was a larger first nations exhibit.
Was a lovely little museum. Loved the mini cinema and video of history. Sadley im sure Coffs has more history than was available Grand daughters loved it n so did us Grand Parents
MoreNice snapshot of coffs history. The cinema exhibit is great. Would be good if they add more stuff. Very helpful and informative staff.
MoreVery nice and quaint place! We were the only ones when we visited, so the staff person gave us a little guided tour around the place with lots of cool info. Very friendly and inviting atmosphere, not to mention all free! Great place to check out if youd like to learn about some history behind Coffs Harbour.
MoreDid not dislike...just very claustrophobic
Great museum, it might be a little small, but I think its better than a lot of big museums as its cozy, has some great historical items, and the staff there are very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place to tourists coming to coffs.
MoreLovely little museum, friendly staff
Wonderful rain forest national park, very close to Coffs Harbour. Accessible by vehicle only. 4WD necessary for some roads through the park, though Bruxner Park Road is passable by all traffic and passes through the outskirts of the park. Stop by Vincents Tree just beside the road, though there are equivalent or better trees throughout the park that are both alive (Vincent Tree is long dead but still standingand equally as impressive. Turn off the road at Swans Road to drive into the park (4WD necessary, can be impassable in the wettest of weather), by crossing Bucca Bucca Creek and continuing. Parts of the park can also be accessed (on footby trails starting just behind the Forest Sky Pier.
MoreSome amazing artifacts. Who knew?
Good place to visit
Interesting, free entry, great volunteers.
It is great to have a wander around and look at the past.
Great to see history about Coffs Harbour
Work in progress small museum, interesting artifacts, free to look around
Its a small museum for now, as the lady at the reception said that the council is building a bigger building to exhibit all their collection. The exhibit now is only a small collection, yet worth visiting. The Tasman theatre was cool with vintage movie posters. The gift shop attached to the reception is would go unnoticed, but worth looking through it. I will definitely go back to visit the new building when its ready.
MoreAn excellent guided tour through the current exhibition. Look forward to their new building.
MoreFriendly and informative volunteer staff in the temporary premises after old building flooded, now housed in original policemans home courthouse. Interesting array of displays on coastal, medical and other local history.
MoreTotally forgot any indigenous history.
A hidden treasure. Interesting, enlightening of the treasures of yesteryear in Coffs Hatbour
MoreIts small but they fill the place up. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly.
Nice place to visit for a hour free to get in the staff are so friendly
Great place to bring the family and get some local history
Very friendly and knowledgeable people, free exhibits, a lovely little gem.
