Cocina de Doña Haydée - Nicaraguan restaurant in Managua, Nicaragua
Best Nicaraguan food we had!
Best Nica food ever
Every time I am in Managua I have to visit this place is like home cooking, everything you miss of eating when you live out broad.
To be a fancy restaurant with very high prices expecting 🤔 to be different. A lot of flies cant eat much on peace. They have a air conditioning room where social distance is not appropriate. Too many people in one room. Covid19 alert ⚠️.
Very nice place. Good traditional Nicaraguan good at a very fair price
Typically food from Nicaragua, good experience
Good food 🍲, good customer service and cant beat the prices
Food is to dry , in the juices my wife and i found Coackroaches legs but even though we didnt got charged waitress wouldnt admit to it .
Clean, safe, and comfortable place. In the heart of Managua. I had a wonderful time there. I compared the taste to the common old Nicaraguan grandma’s recipe, average and competitive prices. I enjoyed the fresh breeze while there.
A revelation. I didnt know Nicaraguan food and beverages are that good. Service is also excellent. Live music, affordable prices.
very good good. the cebada (a drinkis a plus. the beef, # 1. the service excellent, no complaints. price, up to the quality, not over priced at all. nice patio area, and also sure conditioning room are a plus. highly recommend
Great food, the appetizer was served after we were eating the main dishes. But the food is delicious.
A big selection of delicious and, for the most part, traditional Nican dishes to choose from. Seafood, steak, chicken, whatever your taste buds are craving. Local beers are cheap, the breeze on the patio is pleasant, and the staff will make you feel right at home.
Awesome authentic Nica food. A bit over priced for locals but good.
Great local Nica food. Tres Leche has a mild lemon meringue flavor. Might be the best Tres Leches in Managua.
Lovely place for outdoor dining. Vegetarian options and an extensive menu of Nicaraguan fare.
Very good food cooked perfectly with a lot of flavor. I ordered pollo asado and was very satisfied
Really good nica food, the only issue I found with this place was the amount of time I had to wait until my order was ready.
This place was so amazing we ended up eating here 3 times total. The breakfast menu is amazing with exceptional service. Next time we are back in Nicaragua we will definitely be stopping here again.
A great place to visit with friends and family, prices are good and the "sopa de queso" is one the best in town. You have to try their nacatamales and blend of coffee, its the perfect typical breakfast. Great ambient , great service, great food, great prices.
This is a "Must visit" place while in Nicaragua, youll get a complete menu with almost EVERYTHING the local kitchen can offer. Really, really good.
Its a nice place but they should improve a little more on the quality of their food and service
Food was so cold and the waitress seemed annoyed when we asked for the minimum, like a fork. Didnt seem like they had any interest in providing a good service. The only one that bothered was the singer that was there who stopped at every table to ask what kind of music everyone liked. We ordered what was supposed to be a big platterer in Nicaragua called cabayo ballo and it was just a small tray full of ramikins of small samples. Not enough to feed a table of three.
Excelent place to have local cuisine.
Good food and service, perfect for getting a taste of the local cuisine without the risk of upsetting your stomach (:
Best Nicaraguan comfort food in (Managuatown
First time I visited this place. During all these years living here I hadn’t had the opportunity to come! I did and I was impressed with all the options. Great place for those who want to live the full Nicaraguan gastronomy. If you are a first timer, it’s a must for you to come here.A little bit pricy but still a good option.
Wow! Huge rations, starters the size of main courses, awesome quality. I was surprised to see you can actually have dinner for two for under 20 dollars
Great spot - Close to center of town. They had local cuisine and even an English menu. Was tempted to go back the night after and will surely visit next time Im in Nicaragua. Good mix of locals and visiting business people.
The set up of the place its very cozy and it has an outdoors area. This is one of my favorite spots to enjoy a very nice breakfast or lunch, delicious Nicaraguan food and very affordable. This restaurant has a very friendly and professional staff and this is also a good place to take your kids.
Place to get some great Nicaraguan dishes is Must stop place when in Managua.. This is our first stop direct from Airport before getting to hotel. Awesome food drinks. Toña local beer, a thirst quencer.
If you want to try the food you see local Nicaraguan people sell in the streets, this restaurant is a great choice! As you`ll know it will be good, authentic and best of all clean along with good culinary presentation. The property is composed of a mixture of wooden and concrete pillars as well as roof tiles and numerous local paintings and native`s arts & crafts. The expansion recently implemented adds a second floor view and a more relaxed and cool place from where you can enjoy the delights of the kitchen. The staff is friendly and attentive, pricing is a bit steep per Nicaraguan standards so to speak but in all reality it`s affordable guys. The dishes are well proportioned and if you really want to try great exquisite Nicaraguan plates, I would definitely recommend to make a brief visit to La Cocina de Dona Haydee!
BEST NICARAGUAN FOOD HANDS DOWN ..I HAD LENGUA EN SALSA CON ARROZ BLANCO Y TOSTONES...THE LENGUA WSS SO SOFT IT MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH.CUSTOMER SERVICE ONE OF THE BEST ONE I HAD IN THE COUNTRY
I love it....great place to enjoy delicious nicaraguan food, ..breakfast, lunch, dinnerIt has an outdoors spot, and friendly service
I had Indio viejo and buñuelos. Best part of my meal were the ripe and fried plantains. I didnt like the buñuelos. Perhaps they would be better warm.
I rediscovered this restaurant a few weeks ago, when I was a little girl I loved going there to eat, a few weeks ago I went and the magic of the place captivated me is a special place at least for me, listening to live music (Nicaraguan songsIt gives a special feeling, the staffs attention is incredible, they are so kind, the food is delicious, I end up trying the food of all my friends
Excellent place to eat nicaraguan typical food and enjoy a good night out with friends for karaokee or live music.
Tasting the flavors at Doña Haydee brought me right back to my childhood, it was a great experience, now lets hope that Nicaragua is able to prevail all the chaos that is enduring.
Comida criolla y auténtica!...great ambiance (very good live musicdelicious authentic Nicaraguan food. This is a great stop for natives and foreigners alike.
The food and service was wonderful. It was clear they cater to a higher economic status by the customers that were there. I also found many tourists eating here
This is my "go-to" place in Managua, when you dont want something mediocre. The food is all typical Nicaraguan, and for the most part they stay true to the flavors. The only set-back is that it tends to be busy, so if you havent made a reservation you may have to wait to be seated (not too long though, its worth it). Make sure you dont drink their natural juices or traditional drinks if you just arrived in Nicaragua. Let you stomach get used to the water before drinking things other than in a bottle.
Very good service, delicious food served by ladies dressed in Nicaraguan colored costumes, location not far from the airport.
Deserves 6 stars. Super authentic (and a bit upscalelocal cuisine. Cocoa drink is amazing. Will be back for dinner again!
Loved my enchiladas de carne. 😍
Great ambiance and traditionally dressed staff. Nice food selection a d funky presentation. Just hope they add a few vegetarian dishes to the menu
Pretty touristy, but still good food options. Prices were high compared to others in the area, but I received a lot of food for the price
Very good Restaurant if you wanna try Nicaraguan dishes! Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good taste!!!
Great food. Generous portions. Not a wide selection of drinks. But they seem to have some off-menu options. I had a great Macuá, which wasnt on the menu. The servers are great. They suffered thruThrough our broken Spanish without complaint. Both times we were there, they had a guy playing acoustic guitar and singing.
As an international tourist which comes to Nicaragua often I have never had a bad meal at this place. Value for money and the local experience is well worth the visit. We will be back.
Though this place is often referred to by locals for its traditional dishes, most every Nicaraguan I know isnt fond of their cooking. There are probably better options for you to try the local fare.
