Cochin Delights Indian Restaurant-Authentic Indian Food London-Ontario - Buffet restaurant in London, Canada
The food here is most delicious!! Not only are the flavors vibrant but they are happy to customize as needed. Highly recommend a visit and make sure to indulge in the mango fish curry!
My spouse and I had a wonderful dinner with incredibly welcoming and prompt service. We loved the atmosphere, music and flavours that magically transported us to India! Highly recommend the beef roast. John, the Manager for the Couchin Delights in London was very specially welcoming and attentive. We will definitely be back!
The place could really do with an overhaul, the slowest service I have seen in my entire life. They dont bring the menu to you till you are 20 minutes in. Once you feel lucky enough to get the order placed then begins your wait till eternity. The way they serve is that they bring one dish to your table then go back to get you plates, then after a few more minutes comes the cutlery. But you still cant eat because you are waiting for your other dishes. Which will take another 10 minutes. So after a wait of 50 minutes if you are still waiting and show the patience of being here you get your food. Worst experience ever.
Came to London and went to Cochin delights. Such a wonderful delicious food and John the manger went out of the way treating us so special. Thank you. God bless. Will definately visit again.
Food was decent but wait time was too long. On top, one of the staff was very unhygienic, I saw him coming out of toilet and didn’t wash his hands and soon after he came out, saw him serving food and he was also putting spoons on plates. Sorry to mention this truth but should be taken care as we are just coming out of pandemic.
Best in London 100%,Unique place for authentic south indian food. Delicious food at affordable prices.Warm welcoming crew. Huge dine in space.Highly recommended for dosa who is looking for South Indian dishes.
Found this place when a bunch of friends and myself were craving for Indian food. And it was the best decision ever made. The beef fry and paratha were the winners of this place and it was so good and authentic that ordered it twice. Chicken fried rice was great too. Wait times are usual but the food is worth the wait. Definitely a must try and a place to keep going back.09/25/22: still has really awesome food and variety. Pretty decent amount of time to get the food and no issues with customer service.
Food is good and service was good too. We usually come here when we visit London. I really enjoyed Pomphret and beef fry and my friends usually enjoy kappa. Their kerela paronthas are also pretty good.
The food was fresh and delicious. Great portions and very sweet staff who will help you understand what’s the best thing to order with what. We are definitely coming back soon!!!!!!!
Ordered takeout, and everything was packed perfectly with care and food was still hot hot hot.Chicken tikka masala - 10/10 large chicken chunks and there was a lot of chicken. Very tasty!
My favorite Indian place hands down. Lots of flavor, good portions, reasonable price, and they are always super friendly. Recently added a dinner for 2 option to the menu, love it.
Never disappointed. Tasty idlis and dosas.Mutton curry tooo spicy. Overall highly recommend for South Indian food.
We reached there at 6.55pm and it took them about 20 mnts to get the menu. After ordering they said it will take about 25 mnts. We ordered our food at 7.20, The food didn’t came till 8.05 which almost 50 mnts. All we ordered was kappa, fish curry and 2 porotta and beef roast and a sarbath which they forgot to make so we had to cancel that. After half an hour when we asked the person who took our order he answered they are short staffed, as a customer it doesn’t matter as it is a problem with the management .He also apologized for the delay. Also they got our take out order wrong i asked for a chicken 65 and they give us Thandoori chicken. The food was okay. But highly disappointed on their customer service. This is a great spot for south Indian food but they have to improve their customer service.
This place took pre orders for Kerala biggest festival Onam . Even after pre booking 2 weeks in advance they made people wait for more than 2 hours in a que with kids.My BIL waited with a hurt back in their que for such a long time that his back really really hurt when he was back . Please respect other peoples time .
Worst customer service and management. I pre-booked the Onam Sadhya 2 weeks before and had to wait almost 2 hours to get the food and was made to wait outside the restaurant. Service was extremely slow and it was a horrible experience overall. Would never recommend this to anyone. They dont care about their customers. I would happily give zero stars if I could.
Came here for Onam Sadya with my South Indian wife. It was great! The curries and chutneys were delicious. The payasam was rich and sweet and service was great. If you are looking for good authentic South Indian food (kerela specificallyyou will be delighted.
Nice place for authentic Indian food. As always, John & team are amazing in ensuring great and friendly customer service. This year the team organised onam sadya, really great service and food.
An Absolutely disgusting experience. We had booked 2 weeks in advance for the onam sadya and we had to wait for close to 2 hours in the line even though we pre-ordered. This is completely unacceptable. They are short staffed and completely disorganized. Ive informed all my relatives of this experience...
The take out service been consistently horrible. Last few orders - 1. 30 min after order was told tawa not working so can’t give dosa. 2. Picked up order was called mid way, forgot to give me half of the order so turned back 3. Today - ordered 4 dosa, 1 idli among other things - while picking up was told order was for 1 dosa not 4. Family have to eat to pickup up nonetheless now at dinner table found no sambar, no chatni. LOST TRUST TOTALLY.
Favorite curry dishes hands down, amazing spices and full of flavor. Tried a bunch of items off the menu and never disappointed! Also very generous portions. Definitely recommend 👌
I don’t know how they got 4.1 ratings. The food was terrible. The naan was undercooked and tandoori chicken was dry and having false smell. Moreover, the host who was guiding people to sit was acting like he is a bouncer and his body language was not good at all and pointing fingers towards table and said ‘you sit there’ in not a friendly way. I find it rude.
Loved the ambiance. Food was too good. Masala dosha was huge and chutney was so yummy. Mutton Biryani was budget friendly. Also, tried their kulukki sarbath which was so good. Reserve your table ahead. Staff behavior was friendly. No guest WiFi. Toilets were clean and tidy. Plenty of free parking.
Service was very slow. We waited nearly half an hour before we even got a glass of water. My partner had to hunt down the waitress for that. She ignored us completely and barely spoke. I was the only white face in an Indian restaurant so that may have been a factor. The chicken 65 appetiser was burned. We arrived more than two hours ago and still havent received our main meal.
Never Recommended, Went with Family yesterday and waiting for 45 minutes and got nothing but a couple came 20 minutes late .Ordered same dosa dishes got all their dishes infront of Us.Kids were exhausted for their behavior and left the restaurant. Shame on you Cochin delight Male Staff,so rude .. Its good for you ,your friends and family....3 waiters in a raw do nothing, but express service for take out and your friends and you tippers....Never recommend for my friends and Family...Never ever....
Went to Cochin delight with my parents and brothers to eat dosa but ,they kept us waiting for more than 30 minutes but other couples who came 20 minutes late got Dosa .But not my family.I dont know why,may be for their own friends, family, staff,or top tippers.feeling so sad and came home starving,I cried , ... Grade 4....I dont have google so borrowed dads account...I never go or recommend to my friends because I am sad...
Had a very bad experience last time when we dined in. We got bad /not fully cooked chicken.Yes, we communicated with staff and they didnt charge us for that dish. But, that doesnt make it right, I was sick the whole day. Scared to eat from there again. The only/ very famous South indian restaurant in London is compromising their quality
The place is good, great location and lots of parking space. Food is good and portion is excellent. The restaurant opens for lunch at 12.00, however by 2.30 they tend to stop taking customers for dine in even when there is ample space. Not sure if its due to lack of staffing. This happened twice in a row and this incident hinders from visiting a third time.
Best place in London to have south Indian dishes. The beef curry and the beef fry are a must have. The prices are on the premium side and the waiting period is also a bit long. And dont forget to reserve your seats before you go.
Its the best South Indian restaurant you can find in London. I tried an other South Indian restaurant in London which really disappointed me in the morning but the cochin delights made my day. The porotta and Beef and kappa and shaap meen Curry was top. Keep doing the good work and I will be back for sure..
NEVER TIP AT THIS RESTAURANT as the tip money doesnt get shared between employees. Owner should be ashamed. Staff and service are great. Food is good but some dishes are very spicy.
I had the chicken fried rice and butter naan. The chicken fried rice is really good. I had enough for two portions but the naan was exquisite. this is the best naan I’ve had in London till date. I loved every bit of it and I wish I got pictures.
Honestly the taste was so good like finger locking good, but doesnt satisfy the price for the dish listed. Less quantity and high price but good quality 👌.
Very tasty authentic Indian food I loved it 😋must try Mango pudding was delicious 🤤!!Even the place is very spacious and have really nice Ambience
The service was good food was amazing especially the dosa and Naan rice ok atmosphere was calm and nice
Great food. Kerala Porotta and Beef were too good. We tried chicken chathachkoottiyath as the starter and Im sure all the spicy food fans will love it..
Overrated!!The ambiance and staff are really good. I ordered chicken biryani, Butter chicken and fish curry. Butter chicken was fine and chicken biryani was okayish…As a biryani lover, i know every state in india has their own style of cooking biryani and i respect that. But don’t even ask me about the fish curry…when i opened the box, i was able to smell the red chilli powder, the pieces were hard and really good. This rating is specially for the fish curry. I can make 10000 times better fish curry at home.
We tried Cochin delights after reading through the reviews and we couldn’t agree more. This was a good location, authentic food, great customer service and clean restaurant. We called ahead of timeAnd made a reservation. This location is reservation only from what I understand from their website. So do not show up without one! We tried their Masala Dosa, naan, kerela Parotha, daal tadka and paneer masala. We loved all of what we ordered. The portions are quite generous. Our server was very hospitable and we enjoyed the ambience and the South Indian music. We will be going back for sure. I would also like to mention whenever we called, the person answering the phone is very polite and patient with our questions. I highly value a place for its good customer service.
3.34 Pm order the food due to dine in they allowed only at 5 Pm. said it will be ready within 20 minutes, Food ready at 4,36 Pm then we asked only 20 minutes left we will dine in - but they refused more over - an year old baby along with us and requested two spoons of rice for the baby they refused and didnt give it even we ordered 6 Adults food. Customer service is extremely bad and pathetic the attended girls attitude is un professional and never ever seen in any where in Canada. Food is okay but doesnt deserve any appreciation due to the behavior.
Food is tasty and authentic .I had a hair in my food so they changed it right away. Staff is great. When we got in they said we need reservation they let us seat but said please make reservations from next time other wise you wont be allowed . I just dont get it place was empty there were only 3 tables of may be 2 or 3 people each.
I liked the ambience of this restaurant, staff is friendly and customer service is good. I would give 4 / 5 for that, However for food it will be 2 / 5. We had ghee crisp dosa which was good but the quantity of sambhar was really low, the taste was weird, and the coconut chutney was sour . The other food we ordered currys which was too sweet, and I asked the server before ordering, she said it would not be sweet but it was.
Top notch food quality. Very authentic and amazing customer service. The staff was very generous and kind. Thanks to the amazing staff for their service and hospitality. The prices are really nice. It is a good place for families and larger group in a budget to enjoy delicious treat without hurting their wallets. :)
Great service. Food was delicious. Enjoyed the rice and naan. Great tasting curries. Lots of flavours.Good portions.
Today I went to dine in. It was beyond my expectations. I order Tandoori Chicken and Masala Dosa. I will rate this restaurant No. 1 london. Their food is so delicious and presentable as well as the customer service. The girl who served us was so polite and professional. Their service is 5/5.
We ordered masala dosa and shrimp starter and both were really delicious. However, the service can be improved, hence 4 stars.Updated on Oct 3rd, 2021: 5 stars for them taking all the necessary covid precautions. We ordered masala dosa and idli and wow, everything was delicious and authentic. The best South Indian food in London. Servicing was spot on, no complains.
Mother’s day take out, was special Pothichoru and was very traditional south Indian style.Porotta and beef was good too. Spicy south Indian ( Kerala style food). Worth the drive fromWindsor and satisfied our palate.
My wife and I was shopping at Costo a month back and took a taxi home and in taxi ride the driver and we got talking, and eventually he recommended Cochin Delights. I take any recommendation from taxi drivers seriously. And justifiably so, they seem to know the best spots in town. I went there a week ago and ordered aboutbl seven different items some Chinese, some North Indian and South India inspired dishes. The South Indian dishes were the best (makes senseas the staff and restaurant are South Indian. I am going to go back again for sure. Ill order takeout while we are in lockdown, but as soon as the lockdown is lifted, I will go inside to eat and the first thing Ill order is the masala dosa as its best eaten fresh, it does not make a good take out option. This is a fantastic place and Ill be happy to take my friends n family here.
Honest review by a regular visitor:::Best in London👌, Unique place for authentic Kerala food. Delicious food at affordable prices. Warm welcoming crew. Plenty of dine in space.Highly recommended for any food enthusiastic who is looking for South Indian dishes.💯.
One of the best Indian restaurants in London Ontario. One of the things by which I got amazed was there way of presenting dishes wow, it was next to fine dining.I just have one thing to say keep up the good work and maintain this standardone day i came for the buffet but at the time, to be honest, the food was not good the masalas were not cooked and fish was not at all gooddine-in experience changed everything keeps up the good workI will really recommend everyone to try out this restaurant
When it comes to London, ON, you dont really think of finding variety in cuisines and that too ones that provide an authentic experience as possible. My cousins studying in London heard about this new place and we thought of checking it out for dinner and we were quite happy with our experience.Ambiance/Cleanliness: Ambiance was average. Its quite a typical setting with not much frills or fanciness. The restaurant and the washroom were quite clean. The only weird feeling was that if its a Kerala restaurant, I expect Malayalam songs to be played especially with the amazing music that this region produces. I was quite disappointing to hear only Hindi songs playing in the background. It could have been the right balance of Malayalam and Hindi songs at least.Menu: We were given both a specials menu and a regular menu. Adhering to its Kerala roots the menu predominantly featured the favorites. Many sea food varieties, followed by chicken and beef dishes. The soups section was quite a misplaced section with predominantly Chinese items. They could have avoided this and have some classics like pepper rasam, pepper, chicken soup etc. Also the section on Chinese cuisine seems to bit off, given that its Kerala-Indian cuisine. I am sure people can find better Chinese places in London. It was also quite surprising to not find Appam/Puttu etc. in the menu which are classic Kerala Items. But given the location of London, I am ok with having a menu featuring North Indian dishes catering to that demographic as well. But definitely they should put away the Chinese items.Food: We ordered a mix of items both from the specials and the regular menu. We ordered the Avoli Cherulli Peralan (Pomfret in banana leaf and spices), Koondal Dry Fry (Calamari fry), Mushroom Masala, Masala Dosa, Roti, Veg Biriyani, Kulikki Sherbet and Mango Delight as drinks and Elaneer Pudding (young coconut puddingas dessert.I would say the flavors were slightly above average. It could have been slightly more better in flavor. They have tried hard to be authentic as possible but the flavours need to shine a bit more. It was a bit underplayed in my opinion to completely enjoy these items. The cuttlefish was a fried a bit too much and the masala was also too much. So the flavor of the cuttlefish didnt come through. The fish was probably the best out of the lot. Good portion size and ratio with the spices added. But the flavor could have been better. The mushroom curry was more north indian style which was good too. Could have had more mushrooms as the tomato and onions were a bit much. Masala dosa was a tad bit less crispy than what I am used to, but the flavors were alright. The veg biriyani was typical. The Elaneer pudding was also decent. I would say my favorite out of the entire lot was the Kullikki sherbet drink. It was an unusual drink with a mix of sweet and spice. Gave a nice kick when we had it.Service: The service was quite good. A bit mellow on the enthusiasm but it wasnt bad either. They kept on forgetting the utensils for the dishes but that was a minor issue.Verdict: Overall it was a good experience. Given the location I think it would have a lasting run. My only suggestion is to not reduce the authentic flavors. We can be mindful of the "hot" levels but the spices should not be compromised. There are enough North Indian restaurants everywhere. Stick to the Kerala dishes primarily and that would be your star factor. If they work on this (given that they are only few weeks oldand maintain the current standards on other areas they will have quite a bit of a cult following.
Best Indo-Chinese food I’ve ever eaten since coming to Canada. Their hot and sour soup is to die for (if you can’t handle your soup spicy make sure ask them to tone down the spice level according to your needand the prawns appetizer was out of the world. Thankfully I don’t have to drive all the way to Toronto for good Indo-Chinese food now! Service is a little slower, but rest assured the food tastes AMAZING! Sherin’s service was top notch and took good care of us!
