256-260 Old St, Shoreditch, London EC1V 9DD, Takum
Mainstream weekly club nights, gigs, fashion shows and launches, plus indoor swimming pool.
Great venue , friendly and helpful staff, love the space , now the pool and jacuzzi room has gone its now been opened up as a sheisha bar and lounge area something different . Its deffinatly still worth a visit even if the pool and jacuzzi has gone .
For a last minute planned location for a night out it is fine, variety of music and open very late. A little over price with entry and drinks for a no dress code venie. Staff friendly and polite. Door staff need to work on customer service and attitude.
The customer service is no existant... They confuse politeness and problem resolution. I was not allowed to talk to talk to receptionist because I needed to find someone to keep my drink. To make matters worse they dont have a decency of stocking basic drinks.. I seriously dont recommend this place to anyone who appreates good client service.
Its a great big club with multiple rooms, however, dont go in here looking for House Music. The main stage rooms are mainly R&B and rap. No one really attends the House Music rooms. Also, the crowds are not friendly, but the staff are better than most clubs
Pathetic bouncer asked for £10 to put in his own pocket to let us get in, then paid £20 for entry on top. Avoid this club. Bouncer is a thief
Worst night in Shoreditch EVER! As a regular attendee in Shoreditch I am fairly use to the busy and lively nights. This club however FAILED to meet the standards of any sensible nightclub. There was NO management of the cue, at one point almost 4 lines were made. I have never seen a line so large you would have thought David Beckham was on the other side. No attempts were made to get people in, they focused on the VIP guests. Party goers were tipping into the road waiting in line. Girls were shivering from the cold and after being in the line for 1hr 15 mins and moving 1 metre we decided to go home without any enjoyment. The worst.
Wonderful night ruined!!! A group of me and my friends went to Starboy Fest and wanted to continue the party at Aquarium. The queue was long which we expected but there was no order whatsoever. No barriers in anticipation of the potential length of the queue and with that came plenty of people jumping into the queue, at one point there was 3 queues with no explanation of what each queue was for and the staff did not bother to give an update as to the length of time it would take to get in. So we waited for an hour in the cold for nothing.
Very friendly and accommodating. The security staff do really good job at making you feel protected by anyone who misbehaving. Or drunks . Great atmosphere. Good music .goos experience
Awful place, me and my girlfriends went there for a night out and we experience true harassment! A lot of guys tried to touch us (and succeed at a certain point!), there is no security! To avoid absolutely, that stuff ruined our night!
The drinks were too pricey. The cover charge at the door was far too expensive for a midweek event that had no established names on the line-up.There was a few people in the club who seemed very creepy. The dancefloor was nice and open and nearly level with the DJ booth. There was a good visual display, good light rig and fog machines. The atmosphere on the night I was there was definitely not worth the 10 pounds I paid for entry.
This is a very dingy place with poor, rude and dodgy management .....I was there with my girl friend on a Good Friday night, we bought a bottle of Cognac and got a table, an hour mid way into the night when more customers came in, the club promoters and waiters asked us to leave the table for new customers to sit and buy drinks,,,,when we refused they even called in the security to eject us from the club...We stood our ground and demanded for a refund. The club manager who initially denied he wasn’t the manager came up with his team and apologized to us, he offered to relocate us to another table but we refused and insisted on a refund ..... which they did and we left after more than half an hour dramaThis is the worst club experience I’ve had all my life
We brought tickets on skiddle for £11.50 online, only to be turned away at 10pm, and told we have to come back at 1.30am because the other event haven’t finished... or otherwise pay extra £20 to get in then, WHERE DOES IT SAY 1.30AM IN OUR TICKET, it just said 10pm. And even turning up at 2am (due to time zone it skipped 1am on 30th Marchthe girl responsible for checking in people who have the moviemento ticket (like the one we havesaid that she understood that we turned up before she does, either way I find it irresponsible what the club does; either print the ticket as 1:30am or at least show up at 10pm if our ticket is printed 10pm.Because of this mess, one of my friend was having a brawl at a bouncer even enough to not let her in the club, I tried to get the person in charge to sort the mess out to let her in but got turned away trying to help other people.... with misleading and irresponsible staffs, sorry it’s a 1 star for me.P.S, I thought the pool was open to everyone at the club, and yet we been denied access, even though you guys have heavily advertised the pool
Excellent place to have fun with friends in a multi ambient with different genres of music.
I would give it less than 1 if I could. Disgusting place you pay £20 for entrance which is a joke for an empty and small place. When I pay £20 at other clubs I see big names not for local dj. Go there if you want to run your night. I’ve been there 2 years ago and last night and didn’t enjoy both times.
Entry is expensive for the place on a normal day £20 and new year they asked me to pay £50 for empty place !!Its full of people whom are high on drugs . Music is awful . And its empty maybe less than 15 people in even when it was new year I got invited there and it was empty too and they reject people after certain time even if u got a ticket .They say they got 2 rooms open and they dont its only house music & they lie about having r&b room only 1 room open with some rubbish music .Smoking outside you will get harrsssed by druggie hanging outside and one 1 tried to jump to our car when leaving by force .Dont waste ur time the drinks are very expensive!!Rude bouncers and specially the door lady she was racist to me & kept gossiping to the tickets lady about people complaining she shouldn’t be there and had enough of this sh*t& F the place .Bouncers at the door complaining they weren’t happy working there as people stab each other outside the club . People fighting outside it’s a mess .Not safe for girls to be there and don’t ruin your new year or any event going there .And they don’t allow you to go smoke outside after certain time . Very pricey drinks !Don’t waste your time and money stay home watch TV is much better than going there !!!Invest your money somewhere else . This is disappointing in every way possible!!And stay away from security called (Ivon from Bulgariahe was trying to pull me to his place many times and gave me his number and started sending nude pics of himself!!! Shocking 😳😳😳
Odd place and didnt enjoy my experienxe at all. Layout of the bar / dancefloor was cramped, all available seats were reserved so had to stand all night or go into the other room which was completely empty. Tried to get my coat from the cloakroom so I could nip out quickly to take a call, was told if I take my coat would have to pay for the cloakroom again. Would definitely not re-visit or recommend to others.
All the bouncers but one lady were unbelievably rude. I was even told that I wasnt allowed to sit down on one of the sofas by the bar, drinks are over priced, it was completely empty, the music was so loud you couldnt hear yourself think and it didnt help that it was just one beat over and over again. We wasnt allowed to even see the apparent swimming pool but the overpowering smell of chlorine suggests it does exist somewhere inside.
Good vibes. Staff are friendly and responsible of their cliental. Shot girl can be annoying when constantly in your face. Otherwise a good spacious club
Really bad atmosphere. Sat for a few hours to see if it would hear up, but all we got was middle age men and a headache of music. Repeated the same beat over again. Overpriced drinks and a non-refundable entrance fee. Body checked the guys, but the girls got in scout free. Where told it would hear up after 1 but nothing happened. Security gaurds leering all over the place. Would not recommend. Especially for anyone on a tight/student/low budget.
Terrible ! 10 fighting brawls, freezing swimming pool, aged decor, no dress code, baseball hats, trainers, hoodies all welcome. Expensive drinks and outrageous coat room charges. Pricey entrance to a less then half full club at NYE.
So, I went there for NYE. Completely packed with no capacity for the amount of tickets sold. Watered drinks! The worst really was security. There was this grouo of guys fighting, security instead of throwing them out would only go there to separate them. After 5 consecutive fights the room had to be shut down so everyone had their night ruined
Terrible! at least 10 fights happened. Club was hardly full at NYE no less. no dress code. Swimming pool was freezing. Prices for drinks expensive. Cloakroom charge extortionate. Decor dated.
Dingey club with ghetto people, pre booked tickets for the nye and then spent 1hour in the queue outside! When we got in there was hardly anyone in there so what was the hold up just grumpy security killing my vibes. O yeah and dont bring your mrs cause she will be getting harassed. I do not recommend. Happy new year x
Nothing special and expensive for nothing. For the new year eve we paid the entrance and the security on the door forced us to give 20 pounds "tips" to him, otherwise we couldt come inside. I think Ill never go here anynora in the future.
I go to quite a few different clubs but this I do not recommend. It goes on till about 6am but is quite empty until about 3am when most of the other places have kicked out.it is in Shoreditch after all and most pubs clubs etc have long licenses.
Rudest bouncers I ever(!experienced with a massive ego problem, hugely overpriced although totally empty inside. Left after 10 minutes. If you consider going here, going home is the better option, trust me.
☠️🥃 We went last thursday night and we had to pay £10 to go in. At the entrance, they scan your passport, that appears in a screen placed on the entrance wall, which is unbelievable due to the fact that all your personal data and picture are shown to everyone until they scan the next document. Once in, the club was empty, 80% were men, the music was old-fashioned and the drinks kind of watery. So, please, go and spend your time and your money in a better place.
Some good music depending on the DJ but very expensive entry (£20), even for London, and a strange, unfriendly vibe. Also even if you spend £40 on beers and bottles of water they wont fill up one single bottle with tap water afterwards to take out with you.
Had the most amazing time at The Adonis Show last night. Karl, Magic Mike and the others really took care of us and made sure everyone had a fun night. Highly recommend a visit. We will certainly very be returning very soon and bringing our other friends with us. Still buzzing today, not had so much fun in a long time, so thank you to all at Adonis.😍
Amazing vibe and lights inside the club with kind of 80s aura. If you want to jump into jacuzzi after dancing - this is the place ;Its very unique. Theres a big dance floor (lot of spaceand even the pool. Never seen anything like that.If you want to get discounts and look inside the club before you go, we have an app which helps with that: bit.ly/Nightset_App
Bouncers are acting like they own the world and they scan ones passport.20+ pounds to get inside. A person selling the tickets seemed to be full of the bouncers testo act. Expensive drinks, 80% of people inside were men. Best part of this experience was leaving. Just dont spend your money to this place!
Open til 7am, which is amazing. Huge swimming pool area and lots of seating available. Drinks arent expensive. Music could be better. Toilets were surprisingly clean for a nightclub!
The worst club i have ever been to in my whole life. The entrance admission is really high (15£but when they see you leaving they offer you a "special price" of 10£ and this is just because noone is there!! The music is really bad, the Club itself is empty and the atmosphere in general is terrible. NEVER EVER!!!!!!!
Not worthy.... I was there with some friends just after New Year´s Eve- we paid 15 pounds entrance fee, qued for 1 hr and then the music was not even good. There´re for sure better clubs in London!
£15 entrance fee. £10 for 2 half pints and £27 for 3 vodka mixers. 10 people in the venue. This is by far the very very worst place i have been to in my entire life and Ive been to hundreds of venues. Any reviews here saying what a great place it is clearly either work there or are associated with the place. What i cant work out,in terms of management, is if you know youre venue isnt busy, and people walk out even after paying the £15 entree fee and outrageous drink prices, would you not think to yourself, maybe we shouldnt charge so much as were not, Ministry of Sound or Fabric or XOYO and people may be more inclined i start a while. An absolute dive.
Son and friends queued for ages like it was busy to be charged £20 entry with only about 20-30 people inside. While in the queue they where approached by a group of young boys who demanded them to buy drugs to which my son and his friends said no not their thing and a knife was drawn out on them, the bouncers did help with the situation and no one was hurt. Music was crap too, dont waste your time or money.
Shame the entry was £25! The venue is pretty big, although couldnt dare to try the swimming pool, the crowd and music was OK
Really bad club - I would not recommend it at all. The mens toilet was a swimming pool of piss, the urinal was clogged with vomit and there was no soap. The bouncers were extremely unfriendly and rude - I exited the club to send off a friend (to make sure she gets save in the taxi), but once I came back they refused to let me in the club (despite having paid £33 for a ticket and despite having a stamp). Also the overall atmosphere was awful - people were very aggressive and were constantly getting into fights. I felt very unsafe. To sum up, even if this was the last and only club on the whole planet Earth, I would not go there again.
Queued for about an hour with work colleagues after a function. Was rudely spoken to by the bouncers when presenting my identification. Was charged 20 Pounds per person on entry??? Might want to post that somewhere before people queue...Maybe Im just too old for club culture. All we wanted after a work function was a place to enjoy some playful dancing.
Not very Diverse!Shift happens. The Run Down:My brother and my close friend ended up here last Saturday night where we had a quick chat with the bouncer, asked him how the club was inside. After telling us how good it is with the music and all, we joined the queue and waited for probably 30 mins. Whilst waiting we witnessed two guys almost getting into a fight near one of the bouncers then after a few minutes, both walked off to probably fight around the corner.Whilst queuing, some random guy pushes in from of us and starts talking about BEEF as we confronts him about pushing in. To avoid the foreseeable conflict ahead of us, I calmly interrupts the conversation between him and my party and tells him we didnt come out tonight to Beef, but to have a good time. After getting the place he wants in the queue in front of us he smiled and the bouncer let him in. When it came to our turn, he took our IDs, walked inside the club and came back out. He then told us to get out of the queue, we cant go in! Startled and embarrassed, especially knowing that people we were having laughs and little chit chat behind us with, just witnessed all of that, we stepped aside and asked the bouncer if we could get a reason why we cant go in.He said the manager had a look at us on the CCTV camera and didnt like how we looked.(not as in dress sense of course because we had a few womens head turning and I had just received a very kind compliment from a fine young lady moments earlier just walking down the street to the club, shes someone I didnt know just randomly shouted out that I looked nice.I think its because we were either dark-skinned or looked intimidating or both, either way we didnt cause trouble or were there to cause trouble even though that guy pushed in from of us and started to talk tough. We didnt resort to violence although things like that can be a bruise to a mans ego and pride and can be hard to overlook. Even so we did overlook it, which reflected our characters and intentions for the night. so for the owner to look at us and said he didnt like the ay we looked was disappointing. Who knows, maybe he had a bad experience with people that looked like us before...might be the case.We ended up going to a club across the street in the end. This stuff happens all the time, I get it, but its a 1 star for me.
Great venue with spacious rooms, gets very busy and has amazing music! Lovely staff and security are very good. To top it off theres even a swimming pool! Its the club I know in the UK where you can dance and swim under the same roof!
I have been to Aquarium couple weeks ago,the club was not what I expected however everything would be fine if not extremely rude security at the place especially one called Bobby who definitely has attitude problem and treating everybody with total lack of basic respect. I will most definitely not come back to the place until the security will start respecting their customers.
Great place for a girls night out, went for a hen night to watch Adonis Cabaret. Stayed throughout the night even after the show was over as it was an awesome vibe and all us ladies were very happy with the music and bar service. Definitely visiting again :)
Bouncers let my female friends in but not me, then refused to even give a reason. Then when the head of security came, they both behaved very ignorant and didnt allow me to take theyre badge number by walking away. If this is how people are treated I wont be coming back.
We decided to check out this place after partying in Shoreditch as bands were given out during the early hours of the morning. Club Aquarium is a typical basement club with a medium sized dance floor, a smaller dance floor and a lounge area. However, the club includes an indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi for those willing to relax after a night out dancing. Theres usually a door fee of £2 for the swimming area and an entrance fee of £12 at the main entrance. The music being played includes local DJs with house, electronic and trance music. Sadly, I wasnt too impressed with the cleanliness of the club. The floor was extremely sticky. Perhaps the worst I have ever encountered! If it werent for the swimming pool and jacuzzi I would be giving this a lower rating.
Bouncers very rude. Came with my friends from Luton. We discovered this place was open late with some blokes from Scotland. On entry they turned me away, the only black guy of the group. Could see they were actively turning away black guys. My friends from luton who were about to get in stopped and complained in which the bouncers went on to shout at them, push them out, and flash lights at us to disorientate us. They were 5’4 ladies not aggressive blokes that was not needed.
A few friends and I came to this place relatively late in the night only to be met by rude and unreasonable bouncers, overpriced admission and drinks.Inside the place is very dated (looks like it hasnt been refurbished since the early 90s). This gives it an awful atmosphere and despite it being very late in the night, it was completely dead. The fact that it was so old and tatty made it seem the huge prices for drinks and admission were absolutely ridiculous. However, this was NOT the the worst part. A few of us decided to walk out of the club for a bit of fresh air. On doing this, the bouncer said we werent allowed back in; we had paid £12 entry literally ten minutes before! One of my other friends then also came out to talk to us and was actually in the parameters of the club. The bouncer then grabbed him and man-handled him out of the perimeter where he wasnt allowed back in either (he had only stood there for 30 seconds)! We felt like we had been CONNED; being denied access for simply stepping out the club is insane. I then started asking him why he wasnt letting us back in, (especially when there wasnt anyone inside anywayhis only reply was to rudely sigh, tut, and then turn his back and walk into the clubs doorway. He clearly couldnt give me a good reason, we had not been rowdy or done anything wrong (it would have been impossible having been in there for a mere ten minutes!), we had simply stepped out of the club. Then as we walked away, in frustration I said to him this was "the worst club ever", he told me to "f**k off you s**t" - terrible, awful, and appalling standard of professionalism. In summary, AVOID Aquarium like the plague; tacky nightclub, rude and unreasonable bouncers and overpriced drinks and admission. Dont make the same mistake we did and throw your money into this hole for only fifteen minutes worth of entry! It is easily the worst nightclub I have ever had the misfortune of going to.
Such a great club. My experience there was so much fun and was made even better by everyone else in the club being there to enjoy themselves and to have fun. Brilliant atmosphere inside and is reassured by the staff being friendly and doing their jobs correctly.
I live in Shoreditch so have been to many places here, this is the only place I have been turned down from with the reason being We dont like the look of your face, very unprofessional but probably a place to avoid as a customer. We had waited in line for a good 15 minutes before being told that. Considering I havent been here in 15 years I thought it would have been a good opportunity to reminisce my youthful days, with no such luck. With so many other great places to go in Shoreditch to eat, drink and dance why not look around?
Someone from the staff picked up my coat and it disappeared. I suspected of it and I went to reception to complain about it. They told me they werent and I started complainig until they kicked me out. They didnt let me go in to try to get my coat back that I was sure they picked it up. A friend of mine could find it out. They left it in the cloakroom without my consentment. Very rude and bad service despite of the good music. Ill never come back.
