Club NYX in Nieuwegein

Had the best saturday night here! Was a bit of a queue so would recommend getting there early, we arrived at 11:45. The songs were great to sing and dance to and everyone was friendly, I loved that they gave out sweets at 2am.

Worst place to party! They dont give you free water and have just 3 beers. Even though they say there are 3 levels with different music, the last one is the toilet👍. The locker is a money eater. You cant take your clothes whenever you want, because you have to pay again and they also force you to let your things in there . If you go out to smoke you stay in line again to get in. And the security just ruines your vibe, really mean and agresive with no reason!

Party was decent but horrible aggressive staff. Security without any reason became MAD violent and pushed my partner and punched me in the face from the back then hid inside.Easily she couldve smashed her head in the ground, shes still sore and luckily nothing worst happened but seriously the security guys are insane!! Was never treated so bad anywhere in the world by no reason.Im really sorry about this guy, must have serious problems. Manager/supervisor was useless, I feel really sorry for this guys, youre screwing the place and you should definitely go to a psychologist, you are the ones that should keep calm and control the situations, not abuse and become seriously violent. Probably the only place this people can feel important and abuse their power, good job guys youve gone far (?)

Bought tickets for the Halloween party and got rudely taken from the line by security because in his opinion we weren’t dressed up well enough. Mind you, we had dressed up for the theme but apparently not to his standards. No money back for the tickets and an extremely unpleasant experience. Can’t believe the attitude of this place. It’s almost like they think you should be glad they accept you as a customer. Not coming back.

You want to smoke no chance of getting back in, messed up

If you like to enjoy your vacation having a sub par clubbing experience this is the place to go. If you like to go somewhere that pretends to be LGBT friendly without any of the vibes that makes the Amsterdam queer scene arguably the best in the world this is your place. If you like being harassed by security, queueing an hour for the toilets, sneered at by bartenders, and sweating through your clothes in a sauna with no ventilation squeezed next to other club go-ers with no space to dance youre going to have a hell of a good time.

The place is beautiful and has many options, but the security staff is the rudest i‘ve ever experienced in 5 years of going out in clubs. they also told us it costed 15 and they withdrew me 20, and the currency was 1=1. RUDE. the queue is extremely long. if you want to smoke you have to wait in line again (for HOURSand you can’t smoke while on the line. the security is very rude and unnecessarily strict and bossy. they ruin the night.if you‘re going to stay inside for the night it‘s ok, but if you need a break at some point because of fresh air or smoking, you won’t get it until you leave.it might not be as little as 1 out of 5 stars but i just wouldn’t necessarily recommend it.

Never left a review for a club before but this one is probably in my top 3 favourites. Amazing decor, great sound systems (tailored for each roomand loads of atmosphere - there are several rooms to explore. Security was friendly + professional and the crowd was had a great vibe. Definitely worth a visit if youre after a quality house club night in Amsterdam 👌

first of all bodyguards are rude, then even if we bought tickets online we had to do the queue. Then once we came across the entrance the bodyguard told to a friend of mine that she couldn’t enter because of her sandals and that she had to come back home, change the shoes and come again to the club. i mean what’s the problem, my choice, my risk.Anyway, another senseless thing is that even if i have the timbre, when i want to go out to smoke or just simply take a break, i have to go in line again which is kilometric. why not makin a simple queue for people who have timbre?! I didn’t like and i do not recommend this club, much better closer bar, free, with good music and polite staff.

Worst club ever. Do not recommend. Purchased advanced ticket and still have to be in a super long queue.No care given from club staff.

Posts photos of people online without consent and doesnt respond to requests to delete these.As numerous other reviewers mentioned, rude staff that seem to randomly decide who can and can not get in without proper reasoning despite money paid for tickets.

Great vibe! People are always nice and friendly. Has multiple floors and the bouncer are also nice. Just behave and if possible buy tickets in advance. My favourite club in Amsterdam so far!

This lady guard is so RUDE she didnt let me in just because I told her that I will not come in yet to save my belongings THAT SHE WANTED TO THROW! This is after clubbing in many bars in Rembrandtplein! THIS IS BAD! I FELT HARASSED TO BE EMBARRASSED IN FRONT OF MANY PEOPLE! I HATE HER TO DEATH AND SHE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO RUINED MY VACATION IN AMSTERDAM HER RUDENESS IS UNFORGIVABLE!

Couldnt join my friends Inside because the girl on the door looked at our face and didnt allow us to get in. For no reason. I advise to look for way better places nearby.

It was an interesting experience going here, I liked the interior and that you have a locker for extra things. However, the DJ was not our favorite as he kept playing songs nobody seemed to know. The drinks are very expensive too.

Great place, I came at 22:30on Saturday, and there was no queue at all, although closer to midnight the place became packed. The staff was friendly, and there were 3 dancefloors with different music: techno, pop music remixes (my fav), and sort of afrobeat on the 3d floor. the vibe was good, would definitely visit again

Here’s how our experience went:- Hello how many people?- hi, group of 5- Do you know whats the party tonight?- um, no- okay well it is a queer party.- yes we know that, we’d like to join- no, we cant let you in move over.Like, whatttt?!??!!!?!! Gave us 0 reason why we cant be let in. I just hope that it wasnt because my boyfriend who was talking was Indian and straught, cause that’d weird… but i would love to know the answer.

I LOVED THIS PLACE; located on 4 floors, the best DJ in there is in the bathroom - ONLY GIVING 3 STARS BECAUSE THE BEST DJ THERE IS IN THE BATHROOM... and one of the girls serving me at the bar on the 2nd floor was sooo rude. Otherwise I would give 5 stars.

The most racist place you can ever been in Amsterdam! Dont go! The security did not let us in because we have 2 Indian in the group.

Waited a whole hour in the queue. The bouncer asked us if we are queer. We said that we didnt unterstand because it Was too loud outside. Anyway we straight. They rejected US and said were Not welcome

Unfortunately the experience of my friends and I at Club NYX has not been one of the greatest and I hope with this post to raise the awareness of the fact that queer people and women are once again threaten by the constant presence of disrespectful and uncomfortable people. Last Wednesday night my friends and I, a group of mostly queer and fem people, decided to go out partying at NYX expecting to find a queer or at least queer-friendly crowd but from the first moment we entered the club we have been harassed by several groups of white straight guys. We could not find a spot to dance alone because men constantly grouped around us and felt free to stare at us and even take videos of us dancing, we did not see any security person around to call and we had to repeatedly push the guys away ourselves. We felt unsafe, we felt overexposed and sexualized in an environment that had nothing queer but the rainbow flags at its entrance. At the end we left the club after the first hour because the vibe did not change, nor the people. I believe everyone should be allowed to dance, have fun and express themselves freely no matter of their gender and sexual identities especially in a club that supposedly claims to be a “safe space” for queer people and on top of that is placed in the Gay street of Amsterdam.I hope this message can help to critically and practically challenge the threatening signs of heteronormativity of the Club in order to consolidate a better environment for all individuals to be themselves freely.

Hours of long queue even if you have tickets. Super rude security dude (who should totally be fired for making me and my girlfriends feel so threatened and uncomfortable). Kind of a trashy venue, so many sweaty people grinding on each other. The music is good though I dont know if I would come back.

If you wanna stand for more than 1.5 hours in a queue for an almost empty club, this is the place to be. Also, if you wanna get in, make sure you skip the line somehow

Went him with my friend on a whim while visiting. Long line to get in and a bit pricey but whatever really good vibes inside. Great layout, nice mix of queers and friendly peeps. Lockers were a bit confusing and ended up losing like 3 euros trying to work them but I’m not such a sad sack to knock a star off based on the lockers.

Whats the point of buying a ticket online if you still have to stand in the same LONG line as people who didnt buy tickets? Also, if the party is sold out why dont tell people to leave? Also, the security guard did let a big group of 8 people (if not more!cut the line.. speaking of nepotism. We want our money back! 😠 last time we came here without tickets and stood in a similar long line and after 2.5 hours we werent even close to entrying. Seriously disappointed in NYX.

Unfortunately the bad reviews are true. We travelled for 2 hours and waited 1,5hours in line. For the simple reason that our friend had gone up to the security guard to ask if it still made sense to wait in line to get a ticket and then went back in line, we got denied access. They were extremely rude and wouldn’t hear us out

bizarre venue. really rude staff. I was in a virtually empty smoking area just having a drink with a friend when staff member came over and told me I could not wear a jacket. I explained I wanted to put it in a locker when I came in but both my cards were rejected (probably cause there is some issue with visa?). I was a bit shocked by why it was such an issue about the jacket, but even more shocked by the staffs insistence I was talking rubbish about my card not working and he told me theres no problems. (my card had worked for drinks though). so as Im enjoying my night, he marched me all the way down three levels with my friend..... I went to use card on the lock. didnt work. and he was like "oh yeah. thats strange. well...". such a buzz killer. then we went outside after for a smoke. at the time, security was incredibly aggressive with women there. pubs/clubs always have unfortunate issues but this place was very strange! I will remember for the wrong reasons

Honestly a joke. Bouncers wouldn’t let us in nor tell us the reason even though we repeatedly asked for information. We were told that they didn’t have time for us and that we were banned for the night. ‚Try again next time‘. Funnily enough, I’m sitting here writing this text perfectly, so I definitely can’t have been too drunk. Moreover, students paid for these tickets (group of 11and 3 were denied entry. Would look like a huge scam if I’d never been here before this. And after this, well, probably won’t go there ever again :)

The people taking our tickets yesterday were very unnecessarly rude and they seemed to enjoy the authority they had over us.They wouldnt let us in because we were too many people even if we had valid tickets bought separately. Our friends that were also in a big group somehow did get in before us, so we had no idea why they singled us out. Not only did they not give us a valid explanation but they also were very unprofessional, as they increasingly got more hostile towards us. Very disappointed with NYX as always used to enjoy going there. They advertise as being a safe accepting place but that doesnt seem the case.

Would not recommend. Extremely rude staff all around. I was screamed at by a guard for asking a question and they pulled my friend by the jacket (a light onefor wearing it inside which is disrespectful and inappropriate. Treatment of staff to customers could easily lead to dangerous accidents. Whether the night is going to be good or not is a huge gamble and not worth it. Do not go.

Staff was so aggressive I used to come here before corona but now I do not recommend at all. Staff are making problems if you have a jacket? Okay you can say it doesn’t mean you can resort to physical aggression for something so trivial

If you feel like gambling on your eve the NYX is the place. Note you can only win your eve back.Their lockers are slot machines.You buy a ticket, then wish to use the locker. You put the 2 Euros it cost to lock a locker however the locker doesnt lock... Now how much would the locker stage cost you? unknown. The staff may give you a silver coin but claim their rules say they can only do it once.I had to leave about 40 minutes after arriving, as it became unclear how much I need to spend to lock a locker.Contacting the club got no results. They wont take responsibility and yet again, a minor issue ruined an eve and showed this is a fraudulent venue.P.s.Might want to train your staff better at the bar... Top half of the beer cup was foam... 32 Euro per liter is a bad price.

Do not go to this establishment!!! On October 22nd, I was physically assaulted by the security personnel who dragged me by my arm, which resulted in me falling and being dragged along the floor. Never in my life had I been treated like this. What is worse, I contacted the club to make a complaint and asked them to investigate the issue, and they have not had the decency to respond. I wanted to provide them with the opportunity to address the situation before posting this review. As it has been several days with no response, I will be looking into my legal options in the Netherlands. I am a licensed attorney, and I know that this treatment was not okay. Save yourself from a terrible experience and choose another establishment to go dancing.UPDATE TO OWNERS RESPONSE: It is very telling that when I posted a Google review, the Owner decided to respond to the review and still has not provided an email response to my original complaint, part of which I requested that they review the security footage. They obviously read my complaint, as they know my first name. A simple email stating, "we are in receipt of your message and will respond with more detail after we complete an investigation" would have sufficed. They failed to do that and instead chose to ignore me. And instead of reviewing security footage to see what happened, they decided to rely on "witness" statements. I guess this allowed them to lie better, as I have outlined below.The Owners response is riddled with lies. The security personnel FOLLOWED ME to the locker as I tried to collect my belongings. He then dragged me and pulled me to the ground FROM THE INSIDE OF ESTABLISHMENT OUTSIDE (I did not slip outside due to the rain as the owner claimed). It is a shame that this establishment is defending this abhorrent behavior instead of using it as a training opportunity for their staff and offering me an apology. I, too, spoke with other personnel who told me they were appalled by this individuals behavior. Of course, I was upset by the way I was treated - who would not be after being treated in a manner that not even animals should be treated. Any establishment that supports and defends the physical abuse of its patrons is garbage. I reiterate even more so now after viewing the Owners response - DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT.

This is not a club but a pub. Music is worse than radio. Bar closes at 24 and they denied me a drink at 23:45. Definitely my last time going here.

Went there in pride week, so the vibe was nice, music is good. Other times it really depends on the dj they have. Smoking area, several floors.

Nice place totally different to anything I have ever seen the main dancefloor is good with loud punchy sound and good low end, smart setup for the toilet area as well - very European 😉 would be better if door price wasnt so high or included locker hire
