Cloud 9 Brewery in Boise
Description
Friendly and attentive staff. Great beer and food, especially the homemade soups. Cloud9 is my go-to pub in Boise.
MoreGreat food, great service even though they were very busy. Great selection of nano brews, something for everyone. Barleywines, several IPA, and the Honey Basil were all very good.
MoreThe food here is phenomenal and their bartenders really know their beer! The amount of flies inside were unbearable, so we left. Will try again maybe in the winter.
MoreAmazing food and a very unique Honey Basil beer that is a must try.
One of my go-to places to eat. The ambiance is nice and they have some great food options. Staff are most always friendly and its always a great experience!
MoreI’m not a beer drinker- I know, don’t shame me- but we went here after getting our nails done in the same plaza. Johnny was rad and gave the BEST food recs. We split the burger and made our fries blue cheese gravy and bacon topped- they did not disappoint. Super excited about the amount of gluten free options for my husband. And they had a great cider. We also had two tacos (carnitas and the no-meat optionand we are big meat eaters- but it was suggested so we gave it a go and so glad we did. It was right on point! Happy to have this place within walking distance of our new home!
MoreFood is just fine. Drinks are fine. Price is a little high and service can take a long time.
MoreGreat beer, nice deck, cool misters, but vegetarian food options are lacking in all ways, and nothing tasty and vegan. Have surcharge for replacing bacon with tempeh? The most creative seasoning for tempeh is salt and pepper? No veggie burger option? Bathroom without changing table? Just doesnt stack up to other Boise options.
MoreJust got home from Cloud 9. Waited 1 hrs and 45 mins for our food. No offers of free beverages, desert, nothing. I understand staffing is an issue right now. The problem I have is if that was the case, it needs to be communicated. Tell your customers what you are experiencing. Dont let us sit and rot waiting for food and once it shows up, its barely warm. We wont be back.
MoreThe people were so nice and the beer was very good. The food was just ok.
Great food all the time one of my favorite breweries service is always amazing:)
Service is fast, friendly and comfortable. Outdoor sitting is clean, and pet friendly! Inside is open, the feeling you get before even talking to someone is very welcoming. One of those places where, if you come by yourself, you don’t feel awkward! Now let’s get down to the food and drinks…. WOW, everything I’ve tried so far is fresh, and amazingly good. They have house specials daily! Just ask the bartender/ server what specials are going on for the day.I recommend this place if you are wanting something that isn’t to crazy with a 5 page menu and millions of options. It’s a great place to go! You aren’t waiting forever to get your food either!
MoreExcellent steak, wonderful service but WOW!!! The bread pudding upstaged everything in the end. Thanks to our Server and everyone! Highly recommended!
MoreThey have vegan and GF options. Only two cider options but, good service. However, they did run out of many different foods like bacon, avocado, burgers and pecans. Maybe, arrive at happy hour and youd be safe!
MoreFantastic. This place was good the day it opened and its gotten better every day covid or not. Bearded dude with the glasses was running the FOH flawlessly last time I was in and the finger steak special was spot on. This is legitimately one of the best spots for a beer and a bite in the entire state. No joke. Ive been here 20 ish times and its better every single time.
MoreLove everything here , beer 🍺, services and vibes . Also you must try their cream brûlée is soooo good . We will be back soon :
MoreNice atmosphere and setting. Nice seating area outside! Very friendly staff. I had a saison smash French style ale. It was good. They serve food but I didnt try it . It is recommended!
MoreIm very easy to please, but even I have to say: this place is incredible. Good beer, delicious food, and absolutely stellar service. I showed up with a party of seven and the staff was totally accommodating and found us a comfortable spot on the outdoor patio. Lovely atmosphere out there. They were sweet and attentive the whole night through; nobodys glasses were ever empty. It was one waitresss first day on the job and she did splendidly. This place is an undiscovered North End gem and well definitely be back.
MoreGreat food and beer
Nice place. A bit sparse, the tables are sticky because of the covid cleaner they use (or so I was told). The burger was great, mostly because of the meat (grass fedthe fries were well done but not burnt, the sweet potato soup needs more cream and less cayenne. The Mac and cheese was actually pretty good. The extra bacon is a must. Most restaurants are having trouble staffing. 1.5 hour wait for a burger and fries is a bit long.
MoreGreat food and service. Brought 7 other people including 4 kids. Helped us setup seating for everyone. Bought sliders for everyone, plus root beer and fries. Excellent food and service (Aubrey took good care of us).
MoreOur waitress carlee apologized multiple times for slow food service, but at some point 2 hours for a simple average at best sandwich is absurd. Kitchen must be understaffed, COVID blah blah blah but maybe they need to raise salaries. Beer was interesting, we had plenty of time to check them out.
MoreExcellent beers and food. Triton was the best and helped us with our beer and meal choices. Really liked the chill ambience. Would recommend for some brews and a meal -- and will be back! Friendly patrons too, we got to chatting with a number of other people there which was lovely.
MoreGreat little brewery with craft beers and delicious food! We got the IPA, DIPA and blood orange wit and bread pudding for dinner because dessert first always. They didn’t disappoint! Don’t let the strip mall vibe fool you, great vibes and would recommend
MoreFun atmosphere, definitely a "granola" feel but in a great way. Gentlemen prefer Blonde ale was refreshing! I had the chicken pesto sandwhich and the mac ncheese and both were awesome. Def would go back.
MoreWe were pleasantly surprised with our first visit here! The brews were EXCELLENT. The food was absolutely amazing. The staff were very friendly. Great atmosphere.
MoreGood food, but often their takeout timing is horrible. I ordered food, and they said it would be ready in 20 minutes. i come i. 20 minutes later, and they said it would be just a few minutes. I am here a half hour later and they still don’t have my food.Update - i ended up leaving without the food. They couldn’t even tell me the the order was even started, or when it would be done. i know they get busy, but they must have lost the ticket and the staff didn’t know what to do.
MoreSuper duper poopy service (to be as childish as possible since that was the quality of service). Explore at your own risk and hope it’s better for you than it was for me. Food quality, not time it took to arrive, was the only reason I give a star.***Edit*** I was charged for another patron’s sandwich and unfortunately didn’t realize since I was trying to get out of there as soon as possible. CHECK YOUR BILL THOROUGHLY. This establishment is atypical of the Boise experience! If you’re from out of town, I’d highly advise another brewery.
MoreCloud 9 is a great place to grab a beer and a bite to eat!My family and I went for the first time this evening and they did not disappoint. The beer is top notch, the food is great, the atmosphere is 100% Boise.I recommend the Bleu Cheese Bacon Fries (kind of a different take on prime poutineand the Pesto Chicken Sandwich is great too.Theyve got some great beer too. If they have it, try the ESB or the Irish Black Lager. Both are amazing!
MoreI’m sad that I’m writing this review :/ this place used to be my go to but has sadly become a disappointment. Extremely unprepared for the amount of customers for a weekend night. We were a group of four which three of us waited an hour and fifteen minutes for our food and the fourth person in our group waited for an extra 20 minutes for their meal. Poor communication as to why the long wait. Staff seemed extremely overwhelmed and frustrated. Drinks ended up being comp’d but would have preferred better service and consistency. I’ve talked this place up to many of my friends but sadly will not be going back or referring.
MoreBoth the food and nanobrewery beer are excellent. Ive been there five or eight times over the years and ordered something different each time. Each has been excellent. They also have a dog friendly porch.
MoreGreat beer, food and service. We had our dog with us so we sat outside. They are dog friendly and have water bowls. The patio is partially covered and they have some heaters (that dont put out much heat). It is located in a strip mall so view outside is large parking lot. The Mac and cheese is awesome!
MorePretty good burger when it is cooked right, it is frequently over done. The beer is getting better, but has a distinct "house flavor" that reminds me of a coworkers home brew. It bothers me to no end that the staff seemingly does not take the covd-19 pandemic seriously. I got takeout when leaving downtown a week ago and barmaid, servers and one of the owners were not practicing social distancing and there was not a mask in sight. It is really surprising given the liberal leanings of the northend... I understand businesses have to make money, but at the expense of common societal norms and requests, it is a losing prospect for the community and pretty selfish really. I doubt I will give them another chance while the pandemic is still happening.
MoreGreat establishment. Ive been coming here since opening day. Im glad they have been able to expand. The small space to dine was my only complaint ever. And it only seemed to be a real issue in winter. No longer, now. Is it still considered a nano brewery? The root beer/floats are typically my excuse for coming in. Dont mistake me, their food is on point as well. And so are the beers. But that house made root beer is what sets Cloud9 aside from most places, to me. I love establishments like this place. We need more of them around.
MoreAbsolutely love Cloud 9 Brewery!!! The beers are definitely top notch 👌. (Honey basil is my favoriteI just had a killer Burger, with the side of a mini Mac... Im ready for another just talking about it 😁 🤤... Oh, and say hi to Maggie while youre in there, shes an amazing owner, wont steer you wrong in food/beer choices! (The daily specials are TO DIE FOR!!!I love my local pub, and cant wait to go back. Support your local brewery guys!! And if youre just visiting Boise, I highly recommend it. You will go home with great memories and full bellies!!
MoreNot all breweries are created equal...Cloud 9s beers are exceptional especially for a nano brewery. An always great variety of beer styles and seasonal beers all true to style. Their beers are very consist and the seasonals always have an interesting twist. Their food...outstanding! Made from scratch with a focus on local ingredients with daily specials that are delicious. Custom service is very good and friendly and all are knowledgeable both on the beers and menu items. Great patio and inside bar always fun to hang at. This brewery is a must for micro beer lovers and foodies alike!!!
MoreLove this place! Great beer selection, wonderful atmosphere...The Tenderloin grinder is really delicious. The fries though.....tremendously over cooked. Had to send them back and get some new ones. Apparently it’s a known issue. The bartender is magnificent and has guided me well. Super friendly atmosphere and they are on point with the smells and tastes up in here. The NSN IPA is my new jam btw. I’m also a huge fan of the taps they have!
MoreVisiting Boise, Idaho for the first time, I arrived ready to explore the craft beer scene. I had heard many great things about the beer in Boise and couldn’t wait to see if it lived up to the hype. One of the first places I got to experience on my first day here was also my first place for dinner in the city: Cloud 9 Brewery, a brewpub located near downtown.Cloud 9 Brewery is a restaurant just as much as a brewery and some would even argue that the food quality eclipses that of the beer, which is no small feat. The inside of Cloud 9 features two areas for seating, a bar area, and an outdoor patio. The outdoor space is dog friendly and I have been told that they will even serve your dog a bowl of water if you bring him/her with you.At Cloud 9 Brewery, guests can expect to find about 12 beers on tap at any given time. They rotate the beers frequently, so there is always something new to find. The lineup is mostly ales, but there was one lager on tap when I visited and, most shocking of all, a style of mead! I haven’t seen a house- brewed mead at a brewery in a long time and this one, with its added honey and basil, seemed tailor made to match with the food.I loved my chicken pesto and quinoa black bean salad when I visited here and I liked the beers almost equally. They had a salted caramel porter on tap when I visited that ranked as my favorite overall if I had to pick one. But I actually found all of the beers about equally good and I loved the attentive service we received.Boise has a significant beer scene and Cloud 9 Brewery proves that they also know a thing or two about food. Even if you’re not into craft beer, Cloud 9 Brewery is worth visiting just to try one of the sandwiches, appetizers, entrees, or desserts. It’s a brewpub with much to offer, conveniently located close to downtown.
MoreI really like this place. First of all their beer is fantastic. They have some of the cleanest IPAs in Boise. Especially their NSN. They have great food and their bar tenders are incredibly friendly. I always enjoy myself here. Large outdoor patio seating as well.
MoreSo excited to review them at 5 stars! Came for the beer, totally worth it (had the Earl Grey Stout). Food was wonderful, but the best, even better than the beer and food was the chocolate torte! Reminds me of the Chocolate Decadence from Seattles Pacific Dessert Company once upon a time. SO glad to have Cloud 9 here in Boise! Theyve lived up to their name!
MoreThis has long been one of my favorite Boise destinations! Their quality is super consistent! Always a delight to be here!
MoreThese guys have a great selection of Home brewed beers call. they have a rotating list of what is on tap which is really nice because you can always find a new surprise. The food is also very well-made, mostly from scratch, and primarily locally-sourced. the staff are always very friendly and have great suggestions if youre looking to discover new beers. their patio seating area is open during the winter, which is a nice change from some of the places downtown. Whats more is that your patio is dog friendly which is a huge plus. If you havent checked this place out is definitely worth a try!
MoreNice little gem of a brewery. A decent selection of beers considering its small size, and i was pleased that they had a red IPA. Their porter and stout have extremely heavy toast, so a lot of delicate flavors are lost, but are still pretty decent. They also offer good looking food, although I didnt have any.
MoreWent to this sweet little nanopub last week and was so excited about it that I decided to review it while it was still fresh in my head. I always read other peoples reviews too and was super surprised to hear about the poor service. I am guessing that the owner of this establishment reads the reviews and I think that they are seriously trying to remedy this because our service was stellar! Our waiter was very attentive and informative. He explained the beers on tap and made recommendations. When I ordered my roasted veggie sandwich I was thrilled to learn that there were other options besides fries and iceberg lettuce with dehydrated shredded carrots. Not that there is anything wrong with fries (we love em!or crappy salads (which, thankfully, is not available at this establishment); it is just lovely to have options! I chose the kale salad and the server warned me that it was smokey and people either really liked it or didnt care for it. My sandwich and salad were amazing as well as my flight (3 dark beers and a pumpkin beer). I will have to say that I would recommend you get a pint vs. flight; because their flights are pretty expensive. (hindsight! My Husbro ordered the brisket sandwich with fries and said that it was really good; however the coleslaw was a bit too sour for his liking but it didnt keep him from devouring that giant sandwich! And no complaints on the fries either. Their menu is fantastic and fresh! It is so nice to have more than one vegetarian option! Cant wait to go back and try something different. We sat outside and after we left it occurred to us that we never even went in and checked out the pub! Thats pretty lame...but it was a beautiful day out and we had a food and beer coma going on so we werent thinking clearly! Next time we will check out the inside for sure and we will remember to bring a growler so that we can take some of their brew home with us. Give them a shot, we were super stoked we did!
MoreI really enjoyed my visits. They always have a rotational menu, the staff is friendly and the beer is to die for. I wish theyd sell it in stores, but the brewery is the only place you can get it. I always keep in mind its a brewery, not a restaurant and there are fundamental differences between the two. Youre working with bar tenders, brew enthusiasts, and people that are the heart of Boise. If you treat the staff well they treat you well, and it grows from there! Ive seen the same faces in the brewery for quite some time now. If you want that regular cut of the mill host/waiter anonymous experience, than youll probably not enjoy your time here. This is a spot to soak in north end culture, truly unique beers, and interesting culinary cuisine. Its a little gem in Idaho and almost the only place you can get something organic, that was truly grown in our neck of the woods. Its not a chain, like Red Robin, its not a fancy restaurant so leave your tux at home, but it is a pub, and if you change your expectations, and go into it with that bar-style mindset, youll definitely enjoy your time.
MoreThe food was incredibly good but the place was full of people and short one server so it took 2 hours to get in and out. The mac and cheese .fish and chips. and chicken skewers and creme brulee were delicious.ps: they couldnt tidy up the back area near the restrooms
MoreNice brewery, had some unique and good beers on tap. They also serve food. We didnt try any but what we saw of it looked good. Very small place, every table was taken both inside and out. They are expanding due to open in winter 2017. I look forward to see what they do.*Edit* Came back six months later, they just opened the expansion. We tried the BLTA and burger. The burger was excellent, if the BLTA had a different bread it would have been excellent too. I tried the Root beer, lighter color than I expected but a very good flavor.
MoreIdahos only certified organic brewery has some of the best beer and food in town. Ive been impressed over the years at the consistency of the food and service. The classic burger is one of the best burgers in Boise, and pretty much everything else Ive tried is excellent. The specials are usually a delicious treat, and the soups are fantastic. Im an IPA addict, and Cloud 9s IPAs are incredible! Great place.
MoreSome thoughts that come to mind: rad, super tasty, dark beer hop loving heaven! It was officially hot balls degrees F outside per NOAA but the dark heavy beer was amazing. The staff is so accommodating and love what they do. We were fortunate enough to be eating while they were pitching hops and the aroma of roasted malt and fresh hop sent my olfactory sense to a true nirvana. This place is a treasure and Ive been to triple digit breweries in my travels. If in Boise GO HERE!
MoreWhat a fabulous place! The beer is fabulous. I fell in love with the Salted Caramel Stout. The ambiance is fabulous as well and the waitstaff is friendly and clearly take pride in their brewery.I had the cheese plate, which was divine. Great atmosphere and the beer is brewed at the location. What more could one ask for?
