Am Schlossberg, 8010 Graz, Austria, Graz
Landmark hilltop 13th-century medieval clock tower with a garden & panoramic town views.
The symbol of the city! When you arrive to Graz, this will probably be the first place to visit. Also, just climb the steps and enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of Graz!
Before getting to the tower ypu have to make a 5 minute hike.Once getting to the top you are greeted by a big strong tower eith a stunning clock on its side and huge statues. Its a really beautiful site to see, i advise it.
Its a bit hard to climb it on foot but so worth it. Beautiful view and continue on to the rest of the park there, it doesnt take much time but is so beautiful.
The clock by itself is not so special, but the panorama to the city - worth to see!
Amazing place in Graz with great views of the city. Obligatory point during your visit in Graz.
a bit difficult to walk but the view is really noce and makes up for the tiring walking. you can see the whole city while enjoying nature and learning a bit about graz. a site worth visiting.
The best viewpoint of Graz
Beautiful 😍 day out in Graz
I would like to back again, there just perfect place.
Worth walking all the stairs, it takes about 15 mins. Great view of the town, very nice park and attractions inside the park.
You can reach the clock tower from several sides, by foot from northeast side, by elevator from down or by foot on the stairs from west side. We choosed this, the longer way because of the view and we werent disappointed. The view is beautiful to Graz, its worth going up to admire it anytime. You can enter to the clock tower, one guard was there, entrance is free.Unfortunately a huge storm came on that time, when we were there and we had to hurry down from the hill, but the view was amazing and next day in the morning we went back.We definitely recommend to visit this place if youre in Graz.
Best view on the city, if you are in the center better to take a walk until the hill, I am sure you gonna enjoyed. The view is amazing and really romantic, there are a lot of places where you can chill.
really nice place to have a stroll and a wonderful view of the citythe slide looks scary but if a ten year old can do it, you can do it, too :)
Must go to this place if you visit Graz. The view of the city is amazing...
A great place to visit when in Graz. Good views all over the city and region.
Worth the visit! Beautiful clock with outstanding features (minutes hand is shorter, hours time is longerand a gorgeous view of the city. The climb is a little difficult but there is an elevator, and the tunnel leading to it is quite interesting. There is a lovely restaurant up there as well.
Beautiful place with a nice panorama of the city and its surroundings. Good place for relax and spending free time. You can go here by stairs or by lift.
Pretty view of the city and a lovely walk to get there through downtown Graz
Boiling hot day, so I got the lift up to Uhrturm. The cave/tunnel to the lift is pretty cool too.Got to the top and realised how amazing this place is. The clock itself is unique, and the views over Graz are unreal.Would definitely recommend to see this is you are visiting Graz. Also nice walks up the rest of Schlossberg with more amazing views. The walks are quite steep though, so make sure you have a good pair of shoes with you.
Thou the clock tower itself is not so intersting the view from here is amazing over the city of Graz. Not to bad walk to get here. I recommend to take the road on the east side going up to the tower and the the use the stairs on the south west to get down. Dont miss the restaurant on top to get some refreshments before heading back down.
Great view above Graz. Park your car along the many cheap parking lots across the river Mur near Kunsthaus (there are a lot of garages too), take a quick walk to the spectacular main square and from there on to the top of the Schlossberg.
Beautiful place and view!
The best view of Graz Town..! Never miss the visit to this place..! Trust me you will never regret…!
Great viewing platform but the clock itself is an anti climax after climing all the way to the top.
One of favorite place for everybody here. You can see from here whole like on you palm
This is my All-Round-Good-Place to be in the World - since 1997... and now they have a freekin Lift and Super-Slide to get up & down!!!Great view, lovely history...
The clock tower on the top of graz. You can make photo of the city landscape from this place.
Attractive, worth to visit for the views of the old town. Tha path over the stairs is a bit hard but worth an effort. Another option is lift - for fee, or longer path through the park
Beautiful sunset in a very beautiful park. The view is really nice and everything is perfectly maintained.
I need this clock in my livingroom.
A nice place to see the city from. You can take the stairs or the lift. Worth a visit!
Classic Graz must see.
Iconic, must-see!If you google Graz, this is basically the first a few pictures you will see! In a way it represents Graz! I loved it so much that I came up twice within the same day (also took the slide down which was so much fun)! And no doubt that you get the best view of the old town. Classic! Also, dont miss the Schlossberg Museum just a few meters away (see my reviews there, definitely worth it!)
Beautiful and so much history behind it.Above Old Town Graz rises the Schlossberg. This 473-meter-tall hill can be ascended by a funicular railway that takes just three minutes to get to the top. Alternatively, it can be reached by a pleasant 20-minute walk.Highlights include the superb 28-meter-tall Clock Tower (Uhrturm), the citys best-known landmark. Built in 1561, its all thats left of the massive fortifications that once stood here and which were dismantled after the Treaty of Vienna in 1809.Several other attractions are here as well. These include the 94-meter-deep Turkish Well (Türkenbrunnenand the 35-meter-tall Belfry (Glockenturmfrom 1588 with its eight-ton bell affectionately known as Liesl. The café offers superb views over Graz, and theres an open-air theater. Traveling with kids? Theyll love the miniature railroa
Worth the steps - 100% worth the stepsThe panoramic view of the cityThe walk to the castleThe photos of the clock tour up close100% must do in Graz
One of the top destinations to see in Graz. A refreshing, relaxing walk to the top of the hill, you can take the stairs or go through a tunnel (depending on which direction you come fromand then when you reach the top there are cafes and an awesome view over the city. There are also some picture boards that show where the important buildings/attractions in the city are. Must see.
Best view on the city, really romantic and a lot of green where you can chill. Great vibe
Symbol of Graz, can not be missed! Suggestion: take the bahn / funicular up, but instead of using the lift / bahn to come down, take the slide which starts below the turm! Its more than 300 m long, a lot of fun and only costs 5 euros ;)
Very cool landmark, it also provides amazing panoramic view of the town, a must see!I recommend walking up as both sides of the hill and paths/stairs that lead to the top are very nice scenic walks :)
What a beautiful view at there. You can either go uphill or use the elevator. Its a must to visit in Graz.
Thank to this spot, I full in love 😍 Gaz. Wow views of the city downtown and amazing nature it seems to be outside the city. Lovely atmosphere ❤️
It is an amazing view from the top of Graz. And of course very enjoyable especially at the times of the current crisis where people are searching for remaining places to breathe a bit normality.
Very nice view of the city, there are also photos with explanations! The way up is also interesting! I chose to go through the tunnel and then easily up! Just on the left in the picture is a restaurant where you can taste „Veal head“...unfortunately it was closed on Sunday at noon!
Nice place with a great view. The clock tower itself is also looking nice. Not so far away there is a slide to the bottom of the hill :its a lot of fun!
Very dynamic and interesting to visit, with a lot of pathways and turns you wouldnt expect. It keeps you interested. The cafés and restaurants are strategically positioned so that you can truly enjoy beautiful panoramic views.
Its wonderful! From this place you can have the best view of the city of Graz. You can reach it in so many ways, you cannot even imagine
One of the most interesting touristic spots in city of Graz should be this Clock tower. It is absolutely interesting in architectural design and has got an good historical aspect. Probably this location also provides best view on the city. I have seen lots of brides making photos at this panoramic spot. There are also an historical pond which is called in german "brunnen" which dates back to the ottoman prisoners digged. You can approach here first by public transportation and later better walk down with a beautiful zigzags down to city center. Panorama is really stunning both in daytime and at the night.
Its a big clock! If youve never seen a big clock before, this is a great one to start out with. The Uhrturm boasts great views of Graz and some lovely garden walking paths.
Breathtaking view. You don’t have to use the lift or can be cars. Using the stairs is not that hard.Once you succeed to get to here, you can see the all of the Graz.
Beautiful clock tower dating back to the 13th century, which has been chiming on the hour since 1712. Best of all, it offers stunning views of Graz below. Well worth the 260 steps winding up the cliffside from the streets below. If my review and photos were helpful for you, please give me a thumbs up 👍🏼 Thanks!
