We were there for the night at the brewseum and it was a great event! It was so fun walking around and seeing all the cars! We really enjoyed the stainless steel car collection and all the old cars. Such a great collection.

This is a nice museum with self guided displays of local Cleveland history. The carousel rides are unlimited with admission ticket. No food available. The gift shop was underwhelming. Has a small play place for smaller children. The play place is generic and not a learning/hands on type of play place. There was no wait to get in or to see any displays. There was very little traffic throughout the museum. We did the museum in little over an hour looking at and reading most of the displays.

Definitely visit this place if you love automobiles and planes. There are many exhibits of motorcycles and cars from different eras. Theres also a carousel which runs every 20 minutes and is included in the ticket. Entrance is free for CWRU students.

If you like motorcycles this second display is worth seeing. The "Z" is quite impressive especially so because it was hand built in Cleveland.

The bottom floor with all the classic cars is closed for several months - of course there is nothing on the web site that mentions this and of course they charged us full price to see only half of the museum (which is currently just motorcycles). Stay away for several months (probably September or latertill bottom floor is back open. Waste of a visit.

This place was disappointing, to be honest. The car and womens rights exhibits were fine, and the mansion housing some other exhibits was beautiful, but we learned very little about the city and its people. They couldve presented a more comprehensive and cohesive collection that tells the story of the city and highlights its industrial and cultural significance. Instead, what we saw was disjointed and uninspired. Some serious curatorial work is in order. In addition, it was difficult to move about when most of the space has been taken over by an events company that was dressing up one of the halls. They made us feel like we were getting in their way and just wanted to get rid of us.So yeah, this place was a real letdown and its hard to recommend this to anyone interested in local history and culture.

This location is beautiful for a wedding venue however, the staff could do a better job accommodating such events. Communication between staff members was poor. One staff member would agree to something while another staff member would say it could not be done. Over the course of my wedding planning, the museum had 3 different staff members put in charge of our event. Each time a switch was made, very little communication happened and things which had already been arranged needed to be discussed again. I feel that the venue needs to work on communication in order to become a top venue for events. Staff also needs to improve interpersonal communication to avoid mishaps. I was very disappointed by the numerous communication mishaps and the fact that many times, I felt as though my wedding was a burden to the staff. They were very unwilling to help with anything and most of the included chairs and tables were very dirty. To the point that the catering staff (not associated with the museumtook note and cleaned off the dirt. But as I said before, this venue is very unique and cool. The gardens could have a bit more attention paid to them as far as weeds are concerned but the architecture makes up for that.

One of the more underrated museums Ive been in. Was there about 3 years ago. I thought Id only be there an hour but it wound up being close to three. The car display in the basement made the ticket worthwhile on its own but other cool stuff relating to the city was there as well. My only little ding was having to pay at a nearby parking deck.

I wish I could give more than five stars. The floor housing a significant part of the automotive exhibit is undergoing major renovations and I didn’t see this on their website. Staff response to my concerns was beyond my expectations. The displays that are available are outstanding and unique. Cleveland definitely has a treasure in both the exhibits and the staff!

Please go here. Nobody knows about this location and is honestly a hidden gem. Located in University Circle, this place usually gets outshined by other more notable places such as the History Museum and the Art Museum.

We did not want a run of mill wedding venue. Especially since we had so many coming from out of town, we wouldnt something with lots of interest. If thats you, this is the place!! The CHC was the perfect venue. Very easy to work with, though sometimes they can require to persistence to get a hold of. They did everything to help make our day amazing, despite cruddy weather the day of. Gorgeous and such an interesting space. Our guests are still talking about the venue, the carousel, and just everything. 10/10 would recommend. Also, the consumption bar they require, instead of open bar saved us so much money compared to other places we looked at.

We learned much about Cleveland at this museum and were able to walk through the bottom floor of a beautiful mansion. Probably because of the pandemic a lot of exhibits were missing at the time. I hear they are working on that

The vast majority of this museum is really the Crawford Auto museum which is great. The rest of the museum leaves much to be desired. However it is a pretty cheap entrance rate so its a nice place to spend an hour or two.

Me and my buddy went to Cleveland for a metal concert and went to the museum before the concert. The lady at the front desk was super nice and really liked to smile! The lady in one of the two old mansions that the museum just kinda has stitched onto it was very entertaining and told the history of the mansions in a fun way! The museum also has an old carousel (109 years oldand the two guys running it were incredibly informative and you could tell how passionate they were about the Carousel. It was really nice to see someone that interested in carousels talk about them! They saw us come back for our 2ed ride (you get 2 rides for entry into the museumand got really excited to tell us the interesting history of it, and show us what the engine room looked like! I loved it! The car exhibit that the museum is hosting has a ton of very rare cars in it. Not gonna lie, was a bit surprised to just walk up and see a real Chevy EV1, one of 17 Ferrari California Peniferinas (I cant spell that), and a Mercedes 300sl. All the really old cars were awesome as well. They had one from 1897!All in all, great museum! We only had about 3 hours, and I feel like there is a bunch of stuff that we missed. Will go again next time Im in Cleveland!

This is a great place to explore the history of Cleveland & the Western Reserve. During our visit we rode the restored Euclid Beach carrousel, and toured two of the mansions from the area’s “gilded age”.

This museum has come a long way! My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed wandering through all the exhibits. I learned a you knew facts about Cleveland, the carousel was a trip down memory lane and the rest of the exhibits were engaging. The staff was wonderful and so knowledgeable well worth the trip.

Wow! Its been a couple years since we have been here! They are under construction and making changes and the changes are good! The best new additions: Kidzibits and the Euclid Beach Carousel. Those things make it a museum for all ages. There is something for everyone. Well worth the admission price and the trip. Cant wait until its finished! I hope theyre adding a cafe.

TLDR: The museum completely ignores the minority story of Cleveland.A trip to the Cleveland History Center is a.. complicated experience. Perhaps a more apt name would be the Rich White Cleveland History Center. To be sure, the strength of the collection means that a significant portion of the museum is either cars from the auto collection or a very well preserved mansion, which limits what can be done in the exhibition space.Buuuuut in exploring we found many large, vastly empty spaces. One, a ballroom, is half-filled with a less-than-enthralling exhibit about Ohio politicians. Another, a NEO "hall of fame" of sorts, looks to be a time portal from the 70s.Heres the problem: Cleveland has a diverse, complicated, and often gritty history. None of the various ethnic groups (and the lush Cultural Gardens just down the street tell us there are manyare discussed, most critically Clevelands black population is essentially reduced to the mansions servants quarters. The museum needs to undergo a full retelling of the history of Cleveland, one that tells how different people came here, and one that at least scratches the surface on some of the challenges facing the community today and how we got there. But the carousel was fun.
