Steamboat Quay, Limerick, Ireland, Limerick
Set at the end of a commercial street, this polished hotel in a sleek, curved building along the River Shannon is a 12-minute walk from Limerick Colbert train station and 2 km from the 12th-century St. Mary's Cathedral.Modern rooms have free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and tea and coffeemaking facilities. Upgraded rooms add sitting areas and/or river views. A penthouse suite has a balcony and a living/dining room.Dining options include 2 upmarket restaurants with river views; breakfast is available. There's also a cafe, plus a fitness centre with an indoor pool, a hot tub and a steam room.
The manager is was very helpful and nice..Would be nice to have some entertainment the weekend just an idea...Food was very good... I was surprised.Again I feel they should be doing some promotion to push the food because its very good.I live in Limerick and Ive never heard of the food here...just idea...Lovely Venue and has so much potential if it was marketed right...Enjoyed stay.. rooms need a little something 🤔 To make them a little more modern...Over all I enjoyed my stay.
We had my mothers 80th Birthday family dinner on Sunday night in the Bar & Grill (11 of usand honestly it couldnt have gone any better. Surroundings were so comfortable, lovely table looking out over the river, food was top notch and really nice staff, especially the lovely manager (I never got his namewho really looked after us. Everyone was delighted with the evening and my mother liked it so much she wants to go back for another meal soon. All in all a lovely evening, couldnt have wished for better
This hotel does not care about the safety and comfort of their guests. Drunks - running, screaming and slamming doors at 3am. About 8 kids in two rooms. Just not a safe comfortable environment for the traveler. Strongly not recommend. Also be carful about the price charged. They will charge different rates for different nights and call it supply and demand. Bottom line go to a different hotel and enjoy yourself.
Delightful time on the banks of the Shannon quick walking distance to city center and several nice pubs. The restaurant and bar staff were all great
Excelent hotel the breakfast as the same everyday but it ok the attention of the personal from the kitchen its very good great people like Jose, Romina, and others they are professional love this people.
Excellent, professional customer service. I have recommended the Clayton for all our future training venue requirements.
Staff was extremely helpful. Rooms were very clean, near city center & breakfast choices were very nice.
Other than my husband and Is room being mixed up with the rest of my family it was great. Comfy beds. Great bar and atmosphere. Bathrooms could use more lighting though.
I really enjoyed staying here, the bed was the most comfortable I have yet experienced in my journey around Ireland. All facilities are excellent.
Lovely hotel and great friendly staff who know how to treat people 😂
Beautiful view. Twin beds!! 🤨 We paid a lot for this vacation and should have had normal size beds. The front counter staff would not provide bottled water or let us buy drinking water.
Finaly a hotel with a view from outside your window and the airconditioning was great!! We slept so good, beds were comfy and super high, one of our group members took a chair to clime up in her bed 😂 the food was great and the breakfast was rich full of smoothies and all sorts of cereal and bread. The bar was full of different wines and beers! The WiFi was full and fast, this was the best hotel of all the other hotels we had 👏
It was a central hotel in Limerick. You know how most hotels provide lotion, shampoo, conditioner, soap and various items? Well this hotel does NOT do this, just multipurpose soap. No water for the water pot either. Beds are comfortable, room darkening curtains and the air does not go lower than 19 C. My mom stayed in a handicap room, which by US standards was minimally accessible.
This hotel is amazing the management is GREAT and the staff also. To the bar lobby and rooms great... thxs for a wonderful time.
Very nice hotel and a great stay and location. The staff were very helpful and friendly each and every one of them. The food was excellent and plenty of it. The only problem I had was that the beds were very hard. Overall it was a great holiday and would recommend this hotel to anyone. Very enjoyable stay and great staff 👍. Thanks everyone
I didnt stay at the hotel; I attended a small family function here.We had a lovely area assigned to us overlooking the river, with access to outside seating. The staff were very efficient and attentive, and friendly.
The staff were exceptionally nice throughout the hotel. Lovely food in the bar and very nice ambience. Clean and attractive accomodation. Stayed Friday and Saturday night just gone.
We booked on booking.com for Pro Am in Adare. Location very good for access to Adare and all Staff very friendly and professional 👍 "my only negative is the actual room, very small and old fashioned for 2022. Rooms advertised as King should at least be bigger that your own bedroom. I suggest you ask for dimensions and proper info before you book. We stayed in room 1300. Tom D
The hotel is located with convenient access to Limerick city center we were able to walk there and take in shopping, museums and food. The staff is most attentive to youre needs. The food for breakfast and in the dining room is excellent. The room was spacious and the beds are very comfortable.
Very nice hotel right in the centre of Limerick. Friendly and helpful staff
Great hotel by the River Shannon with views of the city by day and even more spectacularly at night.Immaculate rooms and thoroughfare throughout. In fact the whole inside of the hotel shines like a well polished trophy that is kept centre stage in your own home. And saying that... I found the Claytin Limerick Hotel to be as comfortable as a home from home since it is easily one of the the most convenient and geographically connected places to stay for a tour of the Mid West, the Shannon and beyond.
Shame about lack of options to eat other than restaurant. Unless use food app for delivery, restaurant is very limited, rooms are great, service is empeckable
The accommodation was exquisite and thanks to an upgrade I got to experience the Penthouse. I probably never would of experienced the view of Limerick I had uo there in my life. A once in a lifetime stay. Thank you so much!
Ideal location, friendly staff and extremely professional, normal prices and view that will take your breath away. This hotel changes completely the Limerick experience and by itself is a reason to go back to this place. Totally recommend it!
The food was delicious, the rooms spotless great size beds so comfy. Could not fault in any way from our arrival until we left.
Couple of things;Pay on reception policy here.Be ware car parking in the multistorey its quite tight on space.Reason I have 5 stars are based on the positives - of which there are many;Views are stunning.Beds are so comfy.Staff are incredibly helpful - that is front of house to those in room servicing. Would definitely stay again
Wonderful, waterfront location. Parking available close by. Easy access to city centre. Travelling with family we found the staff very eager to help. Restaurant has stunning views of the Shannon.
While our stay here was brief, our memory of it will last a long while. The staff were all polite and helpful, our room was comfortable and had a nice view of the water. Thank you for your hospitality Clayton Hotel.
We had a fantastic night in the Clayton Hotel Limerick. From the minute we arrived to the time we left the attentive, friendly and helpful staff couldnt have done more for us.The food and drinks are fabulous. We were on a college girls reunion and the ladies from Galway Mayo and Dublin were super impressed with this fabulous hotel. The leisure facilities are lovely .Prosecco on arrival and robes in the rooms make for a lovely girlie night out .Fantastic value for money. Looking forward to staying here again very soon. Thanks The College Girls
It was ok, had to park in the multi storey next door which was expensive at €8.50 ,for one night. Reception staff were lovely, the restaurant was not great though poor service and the food was only just warm enough. Room was comfortable but the towel on the window suggested that the windows leak.
Needs more trained staff on for busy days. Too much for the staff to do and felt very sorry for them being ran off their feet. Hotel Rooms very clean. The beds were very comfortable. Looking forward to booking in again.
We arrived for a couple of nights. The hotel is very welcoming. The staff are very polite & friendly with a positive upbeat attitude. At dinner it was busy & we were well looked after. It was great to see the managers helping out & working as a team. The room we stayed in had an amazing view of the river Shannon & Limerick city & it was spectacular at night with the lights on. Our room had a TV with access to a number of channels, an iron & ironing board, a safe, a hair-dryer & a kettle. We had control of the heat settings. Only minor issue we encountered was our key card did not work on 2 occasions. This problem was solved very quickly on both occasions by calling reception who sent a member of staff up to our room in less than 3 minutes. The children loved the swimming pool while I relaxed in the jacuzzi, sauna & steam room. We left the hotel feeling refreshed & relaxed. We look forward to returning in the future.
Parking for a start is very close and reasonable at 8.50 for 24 hours. Our room was lovely. Beds were comfy. The king bed was two singles with a king mattress topper. Lovely view over Limerick from the room. Easy walk to the shops. Breakfast was lovely but bring back a bit more self service but keep the hot food cook to order. Staff was lovely.
We had a fanatic stay over the Weekend. The hotel was beautiful and staff were great. A special shout out to William, he could not do enough for us, he is such a friendly and happy guy and we wish him a speedy recovery. The food was exceptional a well deserved 5 stars for the chef. We highly recommend this hotel if u are travelling to Limerick.
From the beginning our stay was magnificent, went with a group of girls. We had s number of changes to the rooms before we ever got the hotel there was no problem with anything we requested. When we arrived we had lunch in the bar which was so tasty the atmosphere was really good and the service was super. There was a bottle of prosecco in our room. The rooms were spacious great view overlooking the river. Dinner that evening again was so tasty abd great service with lots of lovely cocktails! Breakfast the next morning was so fresh again great service. Reception desk on check, in check out, ordering taxes were so accommodating. I would definitely stay here again
Beautiful hotel, great location. Rooms were spacious & comfy. Staff were very attentive and nice. Convenient parking. Bar is comfy & relaxing. Breakfast was delicious! Would definitely stay here again.
Stayed at the Clayton this weekend. Friendly staff, clean comfortable room overlooking the Shannon. Basic food, nothing to excite the taste buds though. A word of warning to anyone driving a long wheeled based vehicle: the car park for the hotel is extremely narrow. Our van now has scrapes because of this. It would be a good idea to let people know in advance so they could park elsewhere!
Arrived in Limerick on a very wet and windy night. Was looking forward to a quiet relaxing evening and thats exactly what I got at the Clayton. Nice, decent size room with a great view of the river. The bed was very comfortable and it was very quiet during the night. Had a few drinks in the bar and decided on Wings and chips as a main course. There were plenty of wings which were cooked well. They could have been a bit crisper and the sauce a bit more spicy but thats a personal preference. The chips and pepper sauce were very good. Staff were all very pleasant and breakfast next morning was great. All Covid guidelines were in place and staff were very vigilant. Would definitely return
Recently stayed at the Clayton Limerick. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very tasty and a good choice. The views were amazing. Overall it was a fantastic weekend. I would highly recommend this hotel all thanks to the staff and the manager Darren Harding.
Such a gorgeous hotel. The staff & manager Darren really went above & beyond for us. We had a girls night away & it was fantastic from start to finish. The rooms were very spacious. Our evening meal was absolutely gorgeous. Our waiter Paul was also so lovely. Would def recommend this hotel & will def stay again. Thanks so much to the staff at the Clayton & to Darren we had a fantastic time.
Attended meeting. Well looked after without any pressure. Good COVID standards. Disabled parking nearby. Only thing I didnt like was HUGE pots of plants in front of the hotel. Obviously there to stop parking. But it also says keep out psychologically! Parking always difficult in that part of town. Huge pots of plants not too welcoming needs rethinking!!!!!
Spent the weekend here for my wedding anniversary and it was absolutely beautiful, clean and comfortable. Great staff beginning from the reception but my high point was the very tasty breakfast and the A. Hogan the manager at the restaurant who was on top of everything, hes an asset.
We had a fabulous weekend away. This was the best hotel we have stayed in since covid by far. Staff are all absolutely excellent. I never been to a hotel before that every staff member was just so nice and absolutely excellent at their jobs. The hotel was spotless and the food is gorgeous. Looking forward to returning again during the Xmas holidays.
This trip was absolutely amazing! Our room was excellent with a picturesque view from our window. The package we booked was 10/10. The staff there was top notch extremely accommodating for breakfast & dinner. You were made feel comfortable by them especially at the end of the night. When it was time to go to bed they cleared the room in a professional manner & we didn’t feel ran out the door. There was plenty of excellent staff however one person stood out from the rear. Emma was her name & she was the nicest waitress I’ve ever had. Despite only having brief interactions she made a huge impression through how she was able to connect with you. She was relatable & excellent at her job. It is to be noted that she was still working the next morning on breakfast after we had left to go to bed from the night before. That was 11 hours in between not to mention the start time & finish time & even with this huge shift she still was extremely charismatic & friendly. We couldn’t believe it. She even greeted us like we had know her all our lives. A true asset to have her!
After staying in 3 other hotels in the city, this was by far the best one. Service is good, spacious rooms, good restaurant food at a reasonable price. Car park is close by, but comes at an extra cost. The view from the room I had was stunning. If there are any let downs it is the shower head (no spread!and the location is a little removed from shopping/pubs. Neither are "show stoppers" though, this would be my hotel of choice if I was again to return to Limerick.
Great hotel with lovely views and rooms. Staff are excellent people along with the food and service in the restaurant. Our room key card wouldnt work. First we left our bags at the door while a member of our group fetched a new key and second time called down waiting on the 9th floor for assistance. The sensor in the unit of the door wasnt functioning as it should and Ive no idea whether or not its a unique experience to our room or a problem theyre having on all rooms. Other than this the stay has been perfect.
Thank you for your hotel heros offer. From start to finish both my husband and I enjoyed our stay. The service provided was excellent from check in reception, waiting staff and housekeeping. Nothing was too much trouble , all request where met with courteous friendly enthusiasm. The meal was delicious and great value and breakfast outstanding. Our room was clean comfortable and with a lovely river view. A truly relaxing overnight stay. We will definitely return.
Room was very clean and spacious. Lovely view of the river and the city from the room. Bar and restaurant are very nice. Balcony is nice to sit out on in the bar along the river. Service was a little slow but cocktails were very nice. Residence bar service is done through an app, wasnt working one of the nights. Staff were helpful.
Enjoyed a lovely stay here last weekend. Really comfortable beds and air con in room which is a must at the moment! We added on the dinner option to our stay and the food was very good - dessert not great but otherwise excellent value for money. Really friendly and professional staff.
Firstly I need to than the Clayton Hotel for recognizing the role of front line workers during the pandemic with their offer of special rates, thank you for your appreciation. From start to finish the experience was excellent. Staff are all very your but very attentive, friendly and courteous, they are a credit to the Clayton Hotel. Rooms very comfortable and clean with great view of the city and the Shannon.Bar service was great, breakfast every morning well organized and efficient and we had an evening meal which was also very good. Menu had a good choice and no complaint about the food.Given the current environment the hotels attentiveness to customer safety was excellent, plenty of sanitizers available and all customer movement carefully planned with attention to safety at all times.Thank you very much and when returning to Limerick we will definitely return to the Clayton Hotel.
