Clare Valley Motel in Clare

While staying in a spa room we reported spa not working. The man at reception was awful stating if he moved us he would need to pay to clean both rooms, he would be a room down . At no stage did he apologise just continued with how put out he was. Second room we moved to spa also didnt work .

Very expensive ($240room for what you get, which is 80s decor.

3 Bedroom Apartment.Bruce was lovely. Linen was all very clean, and beds were comfortable. Unfortunately we were sold the “3 bedroom apartment” for 1 night at $395. It’s actually a 1970’s portable cement sheet house with original interior fitout, aged, worn, porous, falling apart with evidence someone has tried to stick it all back together to make it function now as accommodation (the carpet was disgusting). There may be a problem with the sewerage as one end of the house smelt so. I don’t have a problem staying in a dilapidated old house but should be advertised and priced accordingly (maybe $100??). My intention with this review is not to trash the business as it appears as though all the other motel rooms were neat and tidy and meet the expectations for a standard motel room. But if anyone needs to book the a larger family space and they think they’re getting a standard 3 bedroom apartment, this is not standard!

Nice and quiet away from traffic, central Location

We enjoyed our stay excellent service staff was very helpful, very clean rooms and spacious will definitely visit again.

Loved the ground floor accommodation. Was able to plug in the hybrid car overnight. Bonus

Decor a bit tired, but clean. The bed was very comfortable. Great spa bath.

A real modern and very well located hotel with extremely helpful and dedicated team. I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next trip. The rooms are very nicely furnished and clean. The complex itself is absolutely quiet despite the central location.

Clean, tidy, close to everything...love the bulk use of toiletries rather than many plastic bottles. will stay there again.

Adequate accommodation, I thought bit overpriced but it was clean and bed comfortable. We were expecting restaurant onsite as per Google maps info however has been closed for over a year now. The pool looked clean and nice BBQ area for the warmer months. Hosts friendly and helpful. Laundry: washer $5 dryer $5 uses $1 coins. Detergent available for $2.50

Very modest accommodation how ever perfect for stop over or explore the area. Clean and quiet. Very good VFM

I will give all 5stars to the location, management staff, add-on facilities however, the Hill side apartment that we lived in had disappointing interiors. I extended my stay to an extra day just for the location but had to mange with old and run down furniture, carpets, curtains. A positive feedback will be that the Hillside apartment needs an urgent renovation.

Outdated, old and overpriced. The cottage type rooms in dire need of modernisation and a deep clean. Shower was pretty much useless, either scalding or cold, no pressure. Bathroom in general a bit mouldy. Bed not very comfortable. Breakfast provided was very basic. Wouldnt recommend to stay here.

Basic but clean. 1.7kms from town with up and down footpath not too good for walking into town.

Most uncomfortable bed Ive ever slept it, the floor wouldve been more comfortable

When staying here make sure it is in the main building at top of the hill ,we stayed in the building south of reception area, in average room for the price looking over Tesla chargers. Better accommodation in Clare to be had. 2.5 stars

Room number 30 or 31, I think does have haunted. Can be heard and cupboard door was open and shut bang and voice. Person have died in there.Unknown spirits in there. Good luck for haunting the ghosts.

The room was spacious and clean. We didnt book ahead and got there at night, but the check in process was easy. Our room is on the lower part but the view is still good. There are few Tesla charger - wow.

The room looked like it had not been vacuumed, the bathroom seemed like it had not been cleaned in some time; the 1 face washer that was provided was dirty with makeup residue from the previous person; the outside chairs, table and ground had sauce spilt over them making it a non desirable space to use. Considering the cost we will not be back.

Good facilities with pool etc. rooms are ok and heard some are recently renovated. The bathroom did look a bit dirty though and not very pleasant to shower in (brown grout and just a bit old/out dated). Not bad for cheap price, but wouldn’t go out of my way to stay here.

Im staying here while touring for 3 days.Its quiet and clean and comfortable.On a hill so you get a view.There is a pool for the warmer weather.The staff are friendly and helpful.Spacious room.I definitely recommend staying here while youre touring the Clare Valley and the surrounds.

Excellent. Lovely helpful staff, and very generous breakfast box. Our bed was very comfortable. Room attractively presented. The bathroom needs updating, but overall a very good stay, highly recommended! 🙂

We stayed here on 15/10/21. Checked in early with no problems and very friendly staff. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. . Shower was so good and had heaps of pressure and plenty of hot water. In summary the accomodation was perfect and very welcoming. We will certainly be back and spend more time here on our next visit

When I walked in it was so cold and it smelt really bad the smell never went away and I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and the step didnt have a black and yellow strip saying caution step there so I tripped and hurt my right knee cap.When i walked it smelt so badMy toilet wasnt cleanedOwner cleaned it with no gloves onDidnt wash his handsTowels dirty not washedRusty water in kettleNo water in fridgePlates and bowls and cutlery wasnt washedBed didnt have any electric blanket like the booklet saidAfter day 2 I wanted to leave and the bed was extremly uncomfy and small.

Great place to stay. Staff were very friendly. and helpful. The continental breakfast was fantastic plus a fresh basket of fruit. This with a great clean spacious room with comfortable bed. This left us with a most enjoyable stay in Clare .

We had a pleasant stay overall. We arrived late afternoon and was quite chilly outside, so was much appreciated to find the heater was switched on to warm our room ready for our check in.The reception & grounds staff are lovely, fresh milk is provided daily which is refreshing unlike many other motels.The rooms were standard clean however were quite dated and shabby (website photos not a clear indication). The water pressure not so great, hot cold shots constantly.Wash & Dry facility, Tesla car charge stations on premises.The grounds also have Alpacas which the kids loved feeding daily.No main restaurant though so expect to travel out for meals - website needs to be updated.

This appears to be an establishment in two parts. The rooms attached to the reception building look very nice and have an outlook over the pool across to the hills, and these are highlighted on the website. The rooms to the south of the reception building are concrete besser block construction, very dated, and have a view over a Tesla charging station, a dust bowl and the rear of a light industrial / vehicle storage facility. Know what you are getting into before you stay and do not rely on the website photographs.

I was very happy with my room, especially considering the price. My favourite thing was the fact that there was fresh milk in the fridge, I hate that long life milk. The room was very clean and well presented. The only downfall was the thin walls and loud neighbours, but thats fairly standards at motels. Also, the shower pressure wasnt great and kept switching between hot and cold. Otherwise was fantastic and would definitely stay again.

3 stars is justified. Its okay overall. Main let down is its not value for money. Our room #5 was dated and the bathroom was dirty, especially the spa. Had good amenities including an outdoor entertaining area for plenty of people to be seated. Really nice location.

Worst service I have ever experienced completely ruined my weekend. Firstly 37 degree day and Air conditioning did not work! Requested to Change rooms and was unexpectedly put next to a pet friendly room with a barking dog on and off for 4.5 hours called to change room again no one to speak to at reception and my phone calls were ignored and my messages NOT returned!!. Additional issues we had to deal with at this “ luxury Motel” Door handle hanging off, 20 year old fly spray that didn’t work, NO Foxtel as advertised, reception kept dropping out. Definitely Will not be returning and won’t be recommending. Motel is up for sale so don’t expect any special treatment.

Dry blood on pillowcase, when asking for updated linen i was refused at first as the owner had finished for the day and then when i requested a refund so i could leave i was also refused. Terrible service. Bug infested room which when i requested the front light to be turned off i was told to unscrew the bulb and the bugs would stop flying through the large crack in the door that leads into the room we were sleeping in. We sprayed our room with bug spray and could not sit in the room for an hour as the spray we were provided with was so potent. Very dated amenities. The mattress was so old it had completely sagged on one side. Looks nothing like the photos. Do not recommend.

Photos make this look much better than it is. We had pretty poor service and the rooms and very old with just new furniture. Spiderwebs everywhere in the room. Would definitely stay in town next time.

I didnt enjoy my stay here. 1st thing is wifi kept dropping out. 2 Be sure to close the window in the bathroom before you use it, dont want to give a young family a peep show.Beds and room is modern.

We stayed here 14th August - 17th AugustThe staff had put the air conditioner on in our room ready for our arrival, which was lovely of them as it was a very cold day the room was inviting and clean. Staff are so very friendly, the maintenance man told us of places to go so we would get photos with great views.Looking forward to returning when the restaurant has re-opened.

One of the best motels I have stayed in.Attractive, nice decor, lovely bush surroundings,large room,double,all you could wish.table,chairs, microwave, lounge chairs, restaurant (not with co-vidbut delivery of food if neededLovely pool, barbecue area, laundry, you must stay here. And, great sightseeing in Clare an d surrounding countryside.

The welcoming was nice, the property is situated beautifully, amazing view and all comforts for outdoor resting is there to enjoy - mini pool, fire place (wood provided), grill, mini tables outside assigned for each room - amazing.Whats not nice is that the rooms are not the same standard so when we booked the second time (amazed with the standardwe had to find out our room is not the same clean and new-like. The bathroom door very dirty and not closing properly (it brings a lot of discomfort when you dont stay alone!). The view from the room was supposed to be mesmerising, we had a lot of expectations for the sunsise coffees near the window.. But when we opened the curtains we found out the windows are very VERY dirty 😢 in general I wouldnt say the room looked fresh.

Nice and quiet, bed was large and comfy. Room and bathroom were very roomy, poor lighting over kitchenette though.Staff were very friendly and food was excellent.We would certainly go back.

Loved the room. Love the bed. The spa was relaxing the first night. The second day housekeeping came in. No clean towels and they didnt clean the scum ring on the spa. Disappointed. The outdoor pool. Where do i start. There was green scum on the bottom of pool. Didnt realise until i was in it. If your going to advertise a pool. please. Please keep it clean.

Stayed for 1 night. The rooms are showing it’s age though. The shower head was weak and it took a while for the hot water to come. Breakfast was adequate. What it has going for it though is the view, location and friendly staff. I was served by Maria and she was a consummate professional and lovely. The views were fantastic and the X factor was the alpacas next door! So cute!

Quite clearly the best place to stay in the Clare Valley!Beautiful property that is very well situated, clean and well appointed. Staff are absolutely fantastic and very friendly. The room was so clean, there wasn’t a single speck of dust. The prices for the restaurant were very reasonable. The rooms were a very good size. The beds were comfortable and I slept well. The bathroom was great and very clean. The shower was awesome! The kitchen was clean and it was very convenient. I like the way the room was decorated. For the value we got, the price was great. The staff were very, very friendly. They greeted us with a smile and we got a very warm welcome. They were very nice and they made us feel very special. The free wi fi worked very well. You wouldn’t expect all of this for the cheap price! Thanks so much to all of the staff for all of the work you have done. You can tell the cleaners work very hard. This was a lovely motel in a lovely town and I really enjoyed my stay.

The motel is slightly dated. We were here in winter so was very cold and needed to run the heater overnight. Unfortunately the old heat pump was very loud. The bed was comfortable however and other amenities as expected. Friendly staff. We booked at late notice so it was relatively expensive compared to some of our other accomodations.

Motel is modern & bed is comfortable. The hosts were fabulous. The only let down was that the toilet bowl wasnt cleaned properly. The urine marks on the toilet rim wasnt wiped out. Overall an OK place to stay.

A nice, quiet spot just off the main road through the Clare valley. Saltwater pool with views over the ranges was a highlight. Enjoyed the comfy, spacious rooms and the air-conditioning was lifesaving on a 40 degree day. Small kitchenette with microwave useful if self catering. Very affordable selection of meals and drinks on the room service menu, including wide range of local drops. Good range of foxtel channels including movies to keep you entertained.

Very comfortable country motor inn. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Great to have plunger coffee, good teas and good quality biscuits. The room had a toaster and jug and theres a small table and chairs at the front of the room. Good location for visiting Clare.

The staff here are excellent. Rooms are reasonably priced, very clean and comfortable. The restaurant has a very good menu that changes with the seasons. Bookings are essential tho.I have been here alot of times from interstate both for work and holidays and is always my go to. I have never been disappointed
