Nice place to stop buy for a rest and have a meal. Well price and the salad and vegetables bar is plus. Not many pub has those. Had amazing time.

We had a nice room but it was in a noisy area near reception room 15 we wont stay in that room again but we will go back to the hotel

Good food, good menu, good atmosphere and a salad bar. A classic Aussie pub.We went to the Clare hotel on a Tuesday evening and I found their vegetarian menu was great and provided good options. The quality of the food was decent and the portion size was good. Its nothing fancy, but typical for what youd expect for a pub meal. The wait time for our food was quite reasonable. The staff were all friendly.Worth a stop by if youre passing through Clare.

Lovely hotel very friendly caring staff

While the wife and I stayed in Clare for our anniversary over a weekend, we decided to dine both night we were up the at this establishment. First night was fish & chips for the wife, while I had the calamari schnitzel, which both was delicious. The second night the wife had bangers & mash, I chose the barramundi on a sweet potato mash.Great food with great service to go with it.Cant wait to go back.👍👍👍

Meals for dinner are from 5.30pm. Absolutely delicious and the salad bar is back! I think this is a lease-operated hotel and the building owner needs to dig in and support a little more development for leasee. A little more love would make tremendous issue when staff are already this good.

A shocking meal at was supposed to be the best hotel in Clare. At $40 the crumbed chops were dry, swimming in congealed gravy and chips were lukewarm. Mixed grill was huge but crumbed food was dry, egg wasn’t cooked and the meal was tasteless. tasteless. On a positive note the salad was good as was the chocolate pudding and bar service was good. Very disappointing $90 meal.

Been here for over an hour. One section of our meals came for one family, then everyone else is sitting here and still don’t have our meals, while all of the tables around us that arrived well after us has already received their meals and eaten them.

We ordered a takeaway on the phone and was told 15 minutes. After 15 minutes I went in to collect meals and pay. I then had to wait a further 25 minutes. Far too long to wait.The food was fine.We are from out of town.

A really good country pub. We were just out visiting Blythe for some escape rooms and needed to venture over to Clare for some lunch. Tis a great road trip lunch option 😉

The chicken schnitzels here are amazing! The perfect blend between a tempura and crumb. Quick service and reasonable prices.

I guess you get what you pay for. Staff terrific and room clean and comfortable but the shower/toilet had a bit of a public toilet feel so needs upgrading.

Great ‘real’ food, hearty pub feel with excellent service. Food and drink is well priced and is excellent value.

The Middle Pub offered Cocktails at premium prices, served by bar staff who have never made cocktails before. The cocktail modifiers oversaturated the palette. I felt like I paid $25 for glass of pineapple juice. Could not taste the base shots at all.We ordered chips and a garlic bread, which took an hour to come out. The pub was busy-ish (heavy on the ish), but speaking as ex-hospo, these are items which are super quick to pump out. Chips cost a premium, and we were delivered the equivalent of a side dish of chips.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Decided to order a porterhouse steak, med/rare. My grandmother used to have a saying when a steak was tough,. " you could make shoes with it". She was right. Disappointing. Cook informed. I ordered a glass of Cabernet to go with it. Well, that bottle mustve been open numerous days, it was off. Seriously guys, business wants to bounce back after Covid, you got me once. Really disappointing.

I am new to the clare area and have visited a few local pubs ,Tonight we found the middle pub in clare , wow from the min we walked in we felt nothing but welcome , then came the food, my goodness I was nothing but impresses, from the Oysters to the ribs it was perfectly cooked, please guys keep your menu and chef 100% impressed we will definitely be back , thank you for a wonderful night 🌙

Went out for tea ordered two steaks I ordered medium rare and bloody my partner ordered medium rare to well done mine super well done it was dry and like chewing a tyre my partners was well over but not quite dry $76 for below average at best never again thank you

Beyond disappointed. We understand mistakes happen, but to only offer additional bread rolls on a lost order and to wait longer then 30 minutes to not receive them. I hope other patron have better luck then us. Total wait with out receiving our meal 1 hr 50ins

Great value for money. Accommodation is comfortable, clean, room spacious. Ensuite small but sufficient. Good quality bedding. Little outdated and basic decor. Location on main road so can be noisy but close to cafes, supermarket and chemist. Bar, restaurant and service staff helpful and friendly. Would be happy to come again.

This review is mainly for the Neagles Wine which we had at this hotel!The sparkling reisling, rose and moscato were bomb. The sangrias were even bomber!Thanks for accommodating our spontaneous request for neagles wine tastinv!

Went because of the vegan options. It was set out nicely and clean and the staff were really friendly. But the food was a big let down. With the "vegan tofu burger" being basically 2 pieces of toast with a whole heap of fried onions and no sauce lettuce and tomato. So not what were hoping for. But its probably a great place to go if you like a pub snitzel with the family.

We went there twice a day, lunch with $11 special meal, I ordered fish and chips , the tartare sauce look so not right and dinner we had middle pub schnitzel, it not bad but taste sour (not sour cream sourso I dont really think its good match with all combination.Restaurant service is good, bar side is nothing special, coffee is very ordinary.

Awful awful awful...cold pasta..small amount....1 hour to receive main meal...black pieces of avocado delivered that should have been included with the $30 pasta. Tiny plate with scotch fillet..oh dear God.

Went to this pub for tea. We had the $11 fish and chips with salad. Absolutely amazing value. It was a great "country Pub" experience. The place was packed, everyone enjoying the food - which was served promptly by very courteous and friendly staff.

The meals were very ordinary, for almost 40 dollars for a scotch fillet you would think that the gravy would be included, it was 4 dollars extra and was presented in a small plastic dish, very lack lustre. The meat itself was very average, I had to ask for a better knife to cut through it. After several attempts by the kind waitress we found a knife that would cut through the sinew. We wont be in a hurry to go back.

all-around great country town experience. nice and rustic. grouse food, had the christmas feast with like turkey or something and it was a great meal. maybe even one of the best 🥘🦃🗿💞

10 of us had pre-booked for a work lunch, each driving at least 1 hour to support this local pub. This was unfortunately our adverse experience:- It took 20 minutes to take our meal orders.- It took 10 minutes to get a drink (no one at the bar).- Accepted the offer of bread rolls when we sat down, but they never came.- Brought out the wrong meals at least 5 times.- Meals came out within 20-30mins of each other.- All meals came out with cold chips, most of our meals were cold upon arrival.- Very tight serving sizes, with only a few cold chips to go with the meal.- Did not bring sauce for the cold chips as requested, asked for this again upon receiving my meal. Staff did not come back for 15-20mins once I had finished my cold meal.- The soup did not appear to be stirred and tasted foul.- Next to no acknowledgement from staff about any of the above.Whilst wanting to support the local business, we have each lost faith in this pub and none of us will be returning.

Stayed 4 nights in the up stairs accommodation after an Air BnB was less than desirable and I had to find a clean bed, last minute!Staff were so understanding and sympathetic, making room for me and ensuring my experience was good.Although the accommodation is basic, there is no doubt it’s clean and comfortable!

A lovely day out in the sunshine for a drive ended in a one hour wait for the most basic of pub meals today. There were relatively few patrons, however I think the chef was preparing one meal at a time. The long awaited schnitzels were tasty, but the chips were cold. My instinct was to tell the people lined up to order to not waste their time on the beautiful day waiting for a very average pub meal. $5 for a can of soft drink is absolutely ridiculous.Not coming back again.

I am giving it 2 stars to be polite. Worst pub meal I have ever had which is disappointing considering this is a country pub. Steak tasted like it had been frozen since the last Adelaide Grand Prix. Out of the 250 grams, 235 of it was fat. Parmy was at least edible but not enjoyable. Chips were good at least. Well done

We had a meal here the other night and it was fantastic! They have a fantastic menu. So many meals to chose from. The bar staff and dinner room staff were excellent they would do anything to help you out. We will definitely be back. It a great place to stop!

I had the squid schnitzel that Wes cooked to perfection. The wife had the kangaroo cooked perfect and mum had king George whiting yum yum. And I have to say the salad bar was fantastic the tomato and onion salad was fantastic and the perfect side for my squid. Can’t wait to dine there again.
