Clare Country Club in Clare

Not quite the standards one would expect looking at the price. Nice room, fine and big bathroom but the rest of the room is looking a bit “tired”. Refrigerator not working properly, tv unstable and housekeeping forgetting the room completely does not improve the impression. The staff is friendly and helpful and a complementary bootle of wine was offered as compensation but would have preferred a slightly better standard in general.

From the moment we got to the reception desk we were greeted like royalty, fantastic service,the newly upgraded room was beautiful,and the moment we entered our room my wife was super impressed that they had already put the heat on, my wife feels the cold weather so it was very welcoming.We dined in the evening with friend and the service and the food was 100%+.Would we stay again YES in a heart beat, thanks to our little Sunseeker holidays people for offering us the great deal.Thank you again to everyone we came intouch with at the Country Club you all made our stay worthwhile.

We were recently there for a private function and both the service and food were lovely.

Wow! Where do I start from, this place was absolutely stunning, from the rooms to the outdoors were kept in such a good shape. Not to mention Steve who went above and beyond to make our stay special, I was so grateful to the entire staff who took such good care. Enjoyed their breakfast buffet as well. Would definitely recommend this place, I went there to celebrate my birthday and could not have done it any better.

A real modern and very well located hotel with extremely helpful and dedicated team. I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next trip. The rooms are very nicely furnished and clean.

Stayed at Clare CC overnight on way to Flinders ranges. Our room was extremely spacious and comfortable although the furniture was a little dated. We had a very nice dinner in the restaurant, and the breakfast the next morning was great! All told, could recommend as a comfortable place to stay.

Sitting here fffrreeezzing! Aircon in both rooms sub par..circa 1990s maybe. Fan barely blows on high, Tvs also need upgrade. Meal in restaurant was nice, $42. Rooms good size.

Great we had a balcony room 7, perfect for 2 nights small kitchen was what we wanted, everything worked will stay again.

Rooms very outdated, carpet lifting, doors falling off (screen doorsair con/sounds like a jet landing, bed should be binned asap.I note that renovations are underway by the looks so there is something to look forward to.

Very bad experience! The room was dirty. We were charged $50 for breakfast which was very poor and we were not even advised that it wasn’t included in our room. Very disappointed.

Stayed in this hotel and had a dinner at the restaurant when first arrived. Staff are very nice and friendly, especially the waiter girl at the restaurant. I love the restaurant atmosphere, it has that elegant old time feel, like you are in Germany with their fairy lights on the balcony. Their fish and chips were really nice. Unfortunately the pasta wasn’t so great, I found there wasn’t much pasta in it, even though they were generous with meat and veggies, but there were just not enough pasta, and they cut the red onion soo finely that there was no way I could took them out from the pasta. Otherwise very generous with the sauce as well. Bread and butter pudding was ok, doesn’t look like what I imagined, tasted ok but wishing they gave two scoops of ice cream since there were two slices of cakes!The hotel itself was nice, the room is spacey and has nice view towards the garden and swimming pool. The room was old but clean. Bathroom has been renovated so pretty modern. Our room was underneath the restaurant so in the morning you can hear some steps and even smell the cooking. I love that you can sit outside the room towards the garden, there must be lots of birds there since there were lots of feathers all across the garden. I didn’t swim but I like sitting next to the pool just relaxing, night time was quite nice actually. Overall very good stay at this hotel, price reflects well their service.

In short, disappointed to have been taken in by ‘careful’ photography and a premium price for a less than premium product.Despite the online images - images that must have been carefully curated, staged and in some cases potentially ‘edited’ - the room itself left a lot to be desired.And not big things, only simple desires: sheets that weren’t threadbare; door frames that weren’t visibly rotten; furniture that wasn’t coming apart at the joints, and felt like it would collapse with one false move. Sadly even these simple needs went begging as all of the above were examples of what we found in the room.Combined with rucks in the carpet, making for a potential trip hazard, long dark hairs in the bed, and a generally tatty feel exacerbated by paintwork badly in need of touch ups, the room was not a great experience and left us feeling somewhat disappointed.We had the impression that we were getting a premium room based on the price, but we were very, very wrong.These things were mentioned to hotel staff, who thanked us for the feedback, but offered nothing in the way of remedy, or recompense. Again, we left disappointed with what we thought was going to be a nice experience.

Staff were very nice and accomodating on arrival. The rooms, are great size, good bathrooms.Really need to upgrade the beds and linen. The mattress must be 30 years old, the pillows are completely hard and flat, so uncomfortable we didn’t sleep and went home a night earlyGood spot, but the comfort of the rooms needs urgent attention.

Had a great weekend away. The little train ride for all ages was great only $2 each so cheap the kids could go on many times

appalling says it allsheets not changed...hair in the bed! very run downwalls dirty and covered in black marks....toilet?moved to another roombut unfortunately not much better ....apology ?would definitely would not recommend!!!

We had room 19, sheer curtains need replacing and the entire place needs updating. However it was reasonably comfortable.

It certainly could be better.It’s a great hotel probably the best in town with so many amenities like, a gym, snooker, pool with jacuzzi, good restaurant.At the same time, there are some let downs, the carpet in the room didn’t seem clean, the sheets and the blanket were old fashioned as well as looked old and didn’t smell like fresh sheets.The pool had cold water and staff mentioned that it would take 20 mins to warm it up, so my daughter (5 yrs oldalong with me and some other guests had to dip in cold jacuzzi water.The rooms being in the basement had to bear the brunt of footsteps noises from people walking above us in the restaurant, at 10 PM as well as early morning.Lack of cleanliness in general just outside our room, rubbish could be seen out in lawn with a hose acting as a hazard.We had the state voucher that came with $50 food that could be used in the cafe. Apparently staff didn’t give us any bills at the checkout and we were informed that everything was taken care of. Even if it was, we should have been handed our bills.The food in the restaurant, even though we only had breakfast was value for money.

Great place to just relax ,food and staff were fantastic good breakfast the bed was very comfortable and rooms were very clean and nice furnishings. Will be back in winter .

Very nice reception, quite room, cleaning swimming pool, good place for family holidays during the pandemic. only one question, why all the coffee from clare were so light, cant even taste it

Nice location. Rooms furnished on the cheap. Coffee table ready to fall apart and only power point for computer desk keep spitting out anything that is plugged in. Told reception and nothing has been done. Bath tub is the best and deepest I have had the pleasure to use. Internet very poor in speed. View from restaurant very nice. Service a little slow but very friendly. I would consider staying again...Edit, Thank you for your response Kirsty, we are still here. I have managed to hand tighten the table. I ended up pushing the computer desk into the plugs to hold them into the wall. I will amend my review on checkout.

so calm. you feel like you are the main character in High School Musical 2.this was my first experience staying in a country club, and let me tell you, it certainly won’t be my last! picturesque scenery, especially the golf course, tennis court AND swimming pool!! great place if you just want to get away from it all for a few days.staff were amazing.i really liked the bathroom ammenities.man it was a great time staying there

We booked this because the price was attractive, even though it is a bit out of town. Our room was very nice - spacious, modern and very clean. We were overlooking the lake but no water to be seen ! Ate in the restaurant both nights we were there and enjoyed both meals. Not codon bleu but still good and friendly service. Good value for money and a good base for exploring the Clare Valley for a few days.

My wife & I spent 3 nights there recently, so that my wife could recover from an operation. Everything was fine until our last night (Fridaywhen somebody decided to hold a birthday party, & we were obviously all invited. For 3 hours into the evening we were subjected to loud thumping music, singing, & loud raucous behaviour. I cannot understand why the admin. tolerated this disturbance.

Its very relaxed, in a quiet part of Clare, away from the main thoroughfare. The rooms are both comfortable, absolutely spotless, a little dated perhaps, but in this case, I think it adds to the ambience of the place.The staff are lovely, friendly, and Covid aware, Im really enjoying myself staying here. The views looking out of our room are stunning.

Very poor accommodation with aging rooms and poor maintenance. Reception staff are oblivious to customer issues and seem deliberately unhelpful. More like a caravan park atmosphere. The dining room was totally unappealing and incredibly slow. The management is completely out of their depth in busy times.Your response, that attempts to gaslight me with unfounded claims that are frankly defamatory, indicates your total lack of interest in correcting your own shortcomings. A further indication of the incompetence of your managerial capabilities. CCTV footage certainly wouldnt be be flattering to said staff member.

Located at the end of the town. Green lush surroundings and room quite spacious. Building need to be updated. Looks a bit tired and worn. We had a view from our room to the garden and pool. Friendly staff with a smile. Easy check in and out. We enjoy our 2 nights stayed.

Stayed in family apartment. Accomodation was comfortable and in great condition. Beds comfortable and air con and fan worked well. Pool was refreshing and generally property was well looked after and staff seemed friendly enough

Nice location for a short stay in Clare, friendly staff. Room was clean and well located to the pool. Bed was very hard but pillows soft. Pool was nice after a hard day wine tasting and very refreshing. A few more loungers and an umbrella for some shade would be perfect.

Beautiful spot.Clean rooms.A few things we werent happy with.We had a room for 4 people.Only tea bags for 2 people.. Breakfast only for 2 people.No salt and pepper.I asked Reception to turn on Sauna.Walked all the way their.Wasnt on.

Clare Country Club is conveniently located to all the attractions in the Clare Valley. The rooms are spacious and have all the amenities that anyone would require. The property is getting older and a little tired looking. The staff are pleasant and helpful. The breakfast and food at the Connors restaurant there is delicious and very generous. We would happily recommend it to others and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thankyou.

I stayed at CCC a couple of months ago for 1 night and I must say it was brilliant! Check in (with Steve), was seamless & very friendly and my studio apartment room was spotless.The spa bath was perfect for a relaxing soak & to my surprise the bathroom amenities were of a high quality PLUS supplied in refillable dispensers, which is so wonderful for the environment. Congrats to Clare Country Club on taking the initiative with reducing waste & doing their bit to save our environment for needless landfill.My only regret was that I was there for only 1 night, but it was worth it! I look forward to staying again in the future when I am in the Clare Valley.5 * service was provided by Steve at Reception and the other staff I came across were also friendly yet professional. Thank you so much.

WiFi was too slow that it didnt work at all. Had the heater on overnight as it was very cold. Woken up by the noise from the heater and couldnt sleep because it was so loud and there was a very bright light on it when its on. Otherwise clean and comfortable.

The apartment was clean and beds comfortable but the meal was horrible. The menu was not as advertised on their website which was most disappointing and we should have been told prior to booking. The meal was overcooked and greasy and I became very ill after the meal. when I leaving the property I was told I should have said something at the time but I wasn’t comfortable doing it then. I would have expected an apology and perhaps a refund on the meal but all i was told is that they would tell the cook. From this I would not return, it was not good customer service

A very quiet place for relaxation. The rooms are large and very comfortable, the staff all pleasant and helpful. I woke this morning to lots of bird song with very little background noise Right now (March 2020the lake is almost dry and the whole area in drought so it isnt looking its best. However, this hasnt stopped the wineries from making great wines so this is a great place to use as a base for touring the Clare and Watervale region.

Stayed for the weekend in a 2 bedroom apartment. Spacious apartment, fully loaded with all the facilities, comfortable beds, amazing shower and the balcony facing the lakeside was a bonus. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great place for large groups, families and kids. BBQ area was a bit disappointing needs some maintenance.Overall it was a wonderful country experience.

Gorgeous place! Very friendly and professional staff. They young man working the night I went was very proper and very friendly. However the young lady serving us was atrocious. Dropping things, forgetting the orders, leaving before we had finished ordering. The young man however was much better, and engaged in conversation which my parents loved. The food was incredible, everyone said it was top notch. Would Definitley eat here again!

Great location and wonderful rooms - and warm! We were below the restaurant but only got noise after 7am and quiet before 10pm. Friendly and helpful staff. Great grounds to walk around. Friendly ducks came for a visit during the day. Great stay during a cold Autumn weekend. Would recommend and stay again.

Nice clean rooms. The air-conditioner, fridge, and ceiling fan were all quiet. The bed was comfortable and spa worked well. The mixer tap on the shower made it a little difficult to get the shower temp comfortable. Nice location.
