Our stay was exception. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were meticulously clean and the location of the hotel is absolutely terrific. Staff went over and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location, great staff

Receptionist was excellent and very friendly, but the hotel is very outdated, cleanliness of the rooms is average and the location is terrible! If you expect a quiet, isolated hotel, this is definitly not it! Im really disappointed, as the price was not cheap!

Its right by the Nile and its spacious although a little bit dated.Service is great but big groups can sometimes make it take longer to check in/out.

Best view on the Nile River, facing the end wide view of Elephantine Island.The view and road atmosphere beneath is so oriental, live and interesting.. The Hotel is large and so are the well equipped rooms. Staff is very friendly and services are good.Rooms are aequately clean.My stay was a benifit, I will do it again.

2 days one night in with a room facing the great Nile.It was really owsome.Neat place, good atmosphere, free WIFI, nice team , and good service.It wont be my last visit.

Really nice , reasonably priced hotel in Aswan. Rooftop is impeccable the best views I saw all trip. The room is quite decent size and large, and Aircon works well albiet a bit noisy. Staff are the best, allowed me 2pm late checkout, did my laundry for cheap, and great service overall. location is perfect, only negative is the wifi, very slow, speed tested below 1mb/s but good signal for 4g for Orange from the hotel.

I really enjoyed at this hotel, I booked suit for two nights and asked for multiples transportation, they happily fulfilled all my requirements .. poor breakfast is my concern, I believe I would repeat this experience

This is not to 4 stars standards. Location is good but thats about it. Overpriced overall, we paid slightly more to stay at the sofitel and the Hilton and these hotels were heaven on earth.Citymax charges you 120 USD a night for rough bedsheets, low quality bed and pillows and a room that has not been cleaned. The service is also poor, we waited 20 mins for a check in someone came to bring us coffee and brought us a bill right after. We thought this was a gesture to apologise for the inconvenience. They have no notion of commercial gesture or service whatsoever and way too overpriced for what it is.The food was ok at the buffet breakfast but everything a la carte is to avoid. Rip off.Wouldnt recommend.

We had an executive suite. The room is spacious and has nice view of the Nile river. But the location is terrible with traffic noises throughout the night. The parking garage is tiny, impossible to drive in & out. The restaurant is mediocre.

Actually, I refused to stay in the room once I saw it and left Citymax for a different, 5 star hotel, with a similar price. It is waaaay overpriced for what you get. This is a 3 star hotel but they are charging 4-5 star rates.

The hotel is fine,clean rooms , room service is not good ,but the location in middle of the city makes it worthy. the hotel is near to all services in aswan . The cafe in the last floor and the gym there is very good .

Good quality for price. Pool on the rooftop is small and cold but have a beautiful view ! Staff was helpful and really kind.

It has the worst breakfast the food is burned some of the stuff isn’t friendly and it has a small swimming pool and the gym is in a bad condition in the open air and the bed aren’t comfortable and the water is very dirty and they have bugs

Great room with an amazing view. Very comfortable bed. Pool is small but on the rooftop with a view all around Aswan. Will definitely stay here again.

Very nice hotel. The customer service is excellent! My husband and I stayed there for four days and they treated us so well. Anytime we called for any type of service they came to our room so fast. Very clean and excellent room service. Amazing view and roof top food/hangout area. Fitness area could use some updating but I love how its partially outside. Overall had a great experience!

The view is great.Location is downtown and a couple of minute walk from anything you need. Train station and the ferry are a 10 minute walk each.The souq Street is also 5 minutes walk.Everything thing about it was great except for the breakfast it was OK not that much variety.

Ok, but a little old and not really worth the room rate. The toilet was leaking and was never fixed during our stay. The water for the shower ran out after 3-4 minutes.

Stunning view , excellent location just less than 5 minutes walk from Aswan railway station.The only negative point , is the heater in the bathroom isnt that good.

Where do we begin? It took an hour to check in, they confused my husband and I for a single traveler staying for one night (whose nationality was different than ours, while holding our passports in their hand). They said they had our reservation; but then said they didn’t: they were confused, and finally sent us to a room. It was a dirty room. We were redirected to another room, different category than booked, and so we waited 45 minutes for the third and final room to be available. We ended up in the executive suite, but the second room’s balcony door didn’t lock, our room window didn’t close, the curtain didn’t cover all the windows, and the shower leaked. There are carpet stains all over, and the bed curves inward. If this is supposed to be the nicest room in the hotel, I don’t even want to know what everything else looks like. The hotel is so old and tired, it’s amazing that it has over 4.0! People don’t speak English, don’t want to help, and are super incompétent of their job. Just spend the extra money and stay at the Movenpick. We thought being city-side would be worth it, but I’d take the water taxi anyday before stepping foot in the CityMax again.

Do not stay at this hotel !! We booked a trip to Abu simbel temple at reception. They told us the entry was included , but when we arrived at the temple we were told it was not . We had to pay an extra $50 . We called the person we booked with at reception & his tune completely changed . He was aggressive & said he never told us tickets were included . He did .. I even asked him to repeat it & he said normally 240 Egyptian pound each but it’s is included. I said great & booked . He also demanded cash .Our driver provided nearly killed us , spending more time on the opposite side of the rd than ours . Then was upset we didn’t tip him . Stay away .

Great hotel with clean and modern rooms located in central Aswan. Has amazing views of the Nile and Tomb of the Nobles from the roof. Staff were friendly and breakfast was nice.

For me it’s a good hotel with a good price but you will had a problem with the view only the suite rooms had the nile view but the standard room see a little or tiny view from the nile lie you can’t see it but for rooms is good and clean and you will find a lot of stuff inside your roomit’s a good choice to travel to aswan and book room in budget really

our room was upgrated for free, and we got a nice big suit room. The view from the balcony is amazing, with the Nile river and beautiful sunset.But the bathroom is somehow stagnated. At one night after 9:00 there is no water. Our room is facing the street, and its noisy in the night.Also, we booked the trip to Abu Simbel via the hotel with too high price, which we only found later.

the hotel is quite expensive but meantime not so qualified. The door uses battery but the battery nearly dies so it beeps frequently even at the middle night. Besides the windows cannot prevent noise from the street.不是太好，如果去abu simbel，不要相信酒店的offer

Great place to stay during your stay in Aswan. Staff very friendly. Facilities great. Good gym. Breakfast is good but could be better if they supplied fresh fruit. Roof top pool and Elephantine Café & Restaurant is terrific. Great view of the Nile. Well located and highly recommended

Rooms are very good. WiFi in room. Location is good if you like to be in the center. Hotel doesnt have its own territory, pool is very small. There is a gym with separate working hours for men and women

Its nice hotel at the Nile river in Aswan. I liked my room and the view. Service in the hotel is not upto the standards, breakfast is not good quality. However, I would recommend this hotel since its much cheaper than other choices in the city. Internet quality in rooms is also very poor. Additionally, good thing is that hotel is just beside a mall, which is handy if you wan to buy something.

The restaurant on the 3rd floor, despite its cleanness and good view, had awful services:First, they said that the tables with Nile view are all reserved. We insisted to take one, and no one actually came until we finished the meal.Then we wanted to order menus à la carte, but they continuously recommended us to have their buffet which was rather expensive.Lastly, I ordered a beef fillet, rare, with mushroom sauce instead of pepper sauce. But they gave me a well-done one (saying that its medium-cookedwith mushroom sauce that had too much pepper in it. (Why did they ask to choose between mushroom/pepper sauces while there is no way to avoid pepper?)

We booked 3 nights on their website, got a confirmation email. Several days later emailed them to change one of the nights, when they informed us that we don’t have a reservation. Our reservation was cancelled 30 mins after we booked it. They said that they cannot honor the original booking price and demanded a higher price.... very sketchy. Still trying to figure it out now, reservation is not responsive...

Like most lodging I visited in Egypt if you look from afar its very nice. And the rooms look very upbeat and new. But when you look up close its not well taken care of. Cleaning and maintenance seem to be more of a roadside motel back in the states.Being a NYer I know what a 4-5 Star Hotel is, this could have been a 4 star but the maintenance and care taken with basic cleaning doesnt seem to be the same as it is for us in the West.For instance, we wanted to spend the night in a room in Aswan. Wed been on a Nile River boat for a week. We went to the hotel since we were docked right outside. We werent able to speak with reception when we walked in so we went to the bar/restaurant. We talked with American and European guests as well as an Egyptian couple that have traveled the globe extensively. None could stop talking about the potential the hotel has but none could hide their disappointment at the Hotels lack of basic and major problem solving and the lack of basic housekeeping.But the 3rd world feeling that we got in much if Giza wasnt the same in Aswan. Aswan had an upbeat vibe and a lot of future potential.My review of 2 stars isnt retaliatory its from what we saw and the rooms we visited. We saw unclean sheets on a made bed where a woman didnt take off her make-up slept sp we opted to just go back to the boat.I will say if you realize nothing is 4-5 star and the Egyptian people arent as hung up on things as we are you realize a hotel like Citymax is one of the better Hotels weve seen on our trip.

Horrible place to stay!!! Stay away!! I stayed here because I did not want to deal with a filthy hotel. The reception looked nice and clean but the room itself was dirty, including a lot of dust but worst of all one of the beds had blood on the sheets. I couldnt change rooms because of course they said they were booked up. We had no choice but to sleep on the second bed and thank god with our sleeping liners. The Wi-Fi barely worked and it took 3 phone calls to the reception to get a password that would work. Also booked a private tour to Abu Simbel with them, initially was told a price of 80usd and then they said 90usd when I went to confirm the trip. When we were picked up the next morning the tour went fine until the return when the driver decided to pack the car up with other Egyptians that where armed, I tried to dispute this but I was told sorry, felt super unsafe on the way back, thankfully we made it back to Aswan in one piece. To top it all off I got food poisoning from their restaurant at the top floor. This is the worst place I have stayed at by far

Hotel has an advantage being part of a shopping mall building.Very good suites.The Royal suites have very high quality furniture.Full capacity Jacuzzi in the Royal suites.Poor maintenance.Elevators take a long time to respond to your call.Rooms windows need major repairs.

Hotel looks like it was newly built or renovated but the workmanship is poor. The in-room safe was secure to the shelving board which you can easily lift up. The door to the balcony is ajar and cannot totally lock. The decor was Rocco palace like but looks very contrite. Hot water was out of the question because it doesnt exist. We were given a two bedroom suite with a huge hot tub and it feels like you were showering inside the swimming pool. We felt we were bitten in bed but cant identify the biter. All in all, I want to give it a no star but the Nile river view and proximity to town warrant a star. Hope this helps.
