City park with a recreation center & pool, plus sports fields & a community garden.
This place is a dump. Completely disappointing. Trash and grime all over the pool deck. Mediocre concession prices and menu.
My husband walks on the treadmill and I walk the indoor track and play pickleball. Great place to workout.Clean facility with friendly people
Great place for kids to recreate!
Very nice community center. Something for all ages.
We reserved a room for a baby shower and they had plenty of tables set up with chairs as well! Lots of room and no trouble getting our stuff in and out. Theres an elevator or stairs to get up to the room. The people at the front desk were very polite and extremely helpful! I will definitely have more events at Bishop!
Plenty of room for large groups to gather.
Great event today at the car show!
Always a good time. Love the disc golf course.
Great water aerobics class and the gym is nice to walk in. Im always greeted when I arrive.
Facilities are clean, pool is clean. Only comments are nitpicking, really. The locker rooms are one way, not pass through so users getting pool ready have to go back out through the main entrance. Ive never seen a pool do this before. Second, theres no signage saying day passes are only available at the front desk. Unsure why theres a concession stand that takes money but somehow cant hand out day passes. Lastly, I go to use a lane but its occupied by a family with kids. I used the open swim area because it was empty. I dont mind the kids, but the open swim area is half the pool and no one was in it apart from me doing laps.Like I said, all small stuff and its a nice facility otherwise. Certainly will be going again while I can.
I and my wife enjoy going to the country western dance with a live band every Saturday 7pm to 9:30. Cost I $6 per person.
Nice people and pool is amazing
Great combination aquatic exercise and senior center
Closed the concession stand early in the STATE tourny and the lights went out the FINALS and we had to wait 30 mins for them to come back on....
Great facility and the air in there works well 🥶 🧊
Great atmosphere. Clean
I loved it pool for elderly people and pool for people lanes for the people that swims in lanes
I like the outdoor water pad. The pool is nice too. But I find in strange that my 3 year old gets swimming lessons there in the "therapy" pool. I assume since its shallow enough for him to walk in without a vest or floaties. Yet when hes not getting lessons, no kids are allowed in there at all. They can only swim in the pool with swimming lanes thats way too deep for them. There is really no good place at all for young kids to try to swim or learn to swim. The pool at Riverside Park in Benton is much better suited for kids of any age, unlike bishop Park.
Last year in summer 2021 I got my membership and my husband and I were going to the therapy pool and it is a clean place and very well guarded very friendly the lifeguards and those who work there I recommend it, I canceled our membership last year when I start the cold days. but next week we will return, yesterday I got my senior page membership again 15 dollars each, $30 dollars per month for me and my husband, the price is quite comfortable and I can go as many times as I want and use the entire center and the pools , excellent Place I recommend it
Great town, great baseball fields, great teams, & awesome food ⚾️ 😋
We was there for an AAU Basketball Tournament. The gyms were very nice. Between games my younger kids enjoyed the playground. The playground equipment was in great condition.
Great place. The swim lessons are top notch
Love to use exercise equipment the inside track when I can walk and the heated pool or I can go swimming. Love fishing there
Nice & Clean facilities with an Olympic sized swimming pool. Bishop park has a lot to offer. Parks Director Chris Treat is grear at what he does and has done with these facilities.
Awesome place. Extremely clean, great lap pool and a separate warm pool for water aerobics and water weights. Your dollar goes a long way at Bishop, with fees more than reasonable. The vending machines are even priced cheaper than your average vending would cost. Staff are all nice, helpful, and generally pleasant to deal with. Besides swimming, Bishop also has a basketball court with a weight room and walking track on the second floor. The place would save me a lot of $ if i had kids, and the atmosphere is absolutely family friendly
The kids had fun at this park. The rides were very modern and interactive. The park was very clean and the kids who are 12 & 13 found the park to be a very entertaining experience. My 4year old had dun as well.
Went to the Harvest Festival with my daughter and Great Grandkids. The kids had a blast. They loved all the bounce houses, etc. Lots of variety in food trucks. Would liked to have seen more arts and crafts.
Softball fields are top notch.
This place is fun place to visit, my grandson plays t-ball for Bryant Go the Royals! And my granddaughter plays softball at the park Go the Stitches!
We have had a couple of good tournaments here and the fields are generally well maintained. Some of the sidewalks have poor drainage so after rain you have to avoid the puddles something that could be fixed with an easy French drain but other than that decent field lots of parking and the concessions arent that bad
Very nice, clean and very well ran.
Great park. Wish there was a playground too. Completely fenced park. Nice fields. Bleachers but room for chairs in front too.
Beautiful facilities, everything available for seniors living a healthy lifestyle. Very friendly staff, extremely clean. This place has everything that you are looking for in a Senior citizen Center.
Watch the grand kids play ball here. Havent ventured in to the building yet. Wish when my kids were playing ball they had this park open because they have beautiful well kept ball fields. Flooding is a problem always at this spot not as bad as it used to be. If you get tgere when the water goes down you can find fish in the outfield fences. Kinda cool. My boy took me out for frisbee golf (oh boyand the course was just mushy mushy could tell they couldnt mow because it was pretty high and when im out in that stuff my brain turns on my snake radar and i was getting signals every where. Allright just for you guys im going to ruin a sweet little setup i got going here. No no i wont if i was getting paid i would but alas im in it just for the attention. Im single now at 60 (yippieso i can be bribed with a setup if you know what i mean stc stc
I can only speak for the area outside of the pool in the locker room. There is inadequate restroom and shower facilities available. Also, the bathroom area at the pool is always unsanitary. On the good side. The water aerobics are excellent!
I was very happy to get started here. The rate for the family of 4 compared to other places couldnt be beat. We signed a contract in December to get back on track for the new year, and I managed to squeeze in a class in the month of January. We come frequently to use the basketball courts, swimming pool, and indoor track. Last week I came back to take one of the classes again and I was told it would cost me $15 a month. It did not originally cost me $15 a month to sign the contract. Im not sure what has happened and I plan on contacting management, but at $15 a month for both me and my husband to take classes there on top of the membership fee we are looking at a fee of more than what we paid for our membership for 6 months. Im very disappointed and dont know how to proceed with this. It seemed like this would be the perfect solution for all of us in our family to get some physical activity and start the new year off right and now I am limited to just the facilities, yog a, and water aerobics. :(
Great place to hold an event. My AAU basketball team held a party there for the players and their friends to raise money. Nice Courts. Not a ton of actual workout equipment. Nice track to run miles on. Outdoor track and trail is nice. Affordable passes and memberships. Nice heated pool and lockerrooms. Great place for a family. Everything for everyone!
Huge pool! Kid area bur always packed. Watch your kiddos in the little pool. Quickly drops off to deep water then into a whirlpool. Life guards on duty and good pricing.
Out of the four different recreation centers that I occasionally patronize in the Little Rock area, this is by far the dirtiest. The bathroom stalls smell of urine, and there are always bits of toilet paper floating around on the floor. Nobody comes to check the bathrooms/showers and to refill the soaps, which in the showers are also empty, and the paper towels. Considering all the extremely young people that work there and dont do much except use tax payer money playing on their telephones, I certainly dont think that there is a lack of staff that could take care of these issues. Unless the young people of Bryant are too good to clean bathrooms, which is the impression that some of them emit when you go to check in or ask questions. The workout rooms themselves are too narrow and crowded, and nobody is around to answer questions about how the machines work, or if you can change the TV channel. The inside track is the nicest aspect of the center. I do not think that the $1 more they charge from all the other centers, including Benton, which is new and huge, is at all worth it.
Everyone was so welcoming. There can be lots of events going on at once ie. swim meets, basketball games, baseball games, birthday partiesInside the building is nice and cool this summer. Really great place
Bishop Center Staff,Folks, I do like coming to the Senior Center for activities and do enjoy myself. However, as part of those activities, I enjoy playing pool (billiardsin the designated room. My ability to attend that activity is compromised as the temperature of that centrally located room is far too high. It is in excess of 78 or eighty degrees and that is very stressful for myself and others as well. Someone has placed a fan there but all the far does is stir the overly warm air.I know those rooms are individually temperature controlled thus I ask if it is possible to reduce the temperature for that room to at least 76 or even less. We older fellows would find it much more comfortable. Many thanks,Bernard McIntyre
Parking is terrible. Covers missing on water boxes. Felt like I almost broke my ankle. Benton for sure has better fields. Hopefully Bryant will do better. Love living here. Love the schools.
I attend Bishop park for a class for the handicap in wheelchairs. It is a wonderful class in a upscale facility. The workers are very friendly and helpful. Memberships are very reasonable for the seniors. Give it a try!
Unorganized. I attended a party for a 6 yr old and we were unable to utilize the 3ft pool area due to an aerobics class. The gentleman (Bishop Park employeewhom helped my sister book the party FAILED to inform her that the smaller pool area wouldnt be accessible the day of the party. This was unacceptable!!!! We had to use the 4ft. 6in side of the pool... Most of the children werent even 4ft. This was a disaster and management should be ashamed for allowing this to happen to a child on his birthday.
They held a pageant there, (first time ever going)and I delivered a dress for one of the participant. They didnt inform us nor did I see a sign that said $10 for each person to watch. Again never went to one like this. And the lady told us at the very end that we owned $10 each. If I would have know I would not have set there. Because I was their to deliver and make sure the outfit for correctly.
We had a death in the family and needed a place for everyone to gather and visit since our family is to large for one persons house. It was short notice but the young lady at the front desk was very kind and helpful. She apologized for our loss and was genuinely remorseful. She could not have been more helpful or nice. I recommend Bishop Park for your meetings or gatherings. They are the nicest people you will ever meet.
The center was amazing when it first began but now the pool is just a high school swim met pool and the gym/courts are always being closed for some event going on. VERY inconvenient bc I am a member since the day they opened. You only get a tiny part to swim in and the other pool that you would think should be child friendly bc it’s actually shallow is for 16 year old and older. Makes no sense. This place is no longer a local gym but a rental event building.
Great 5k for family, nice fall fest set up in the shade, lots of venders, Bbque cookoff.
Well first off let me start by saying originally I loved this place, and what it seemed to offer. My family, and I were so excited about it that we purchased the yearly membership. Then once we started going more it was always something. Every single time we go we have to move our things from one side of the pool to another because of a swim meet, or something, and end up only being able to share a small lane with several other people (I understand that the swim team has to practice, but why should we pay for a membership to swim thinking we have access to the entire pool when in reality its a very tiny portion). Also, we came to swim one Saturday afternoon even, and they were having a swim meet the next day. The people came, and started setting up for the swim meet an hour before the pool closed, and even sat chairs in front of me without asking me to move, and made it to where I had to move to see my children. I have 5 kids, so this is no small task. In my opinion they couldve waited until the next day to set up. Lastly, what finally pushed me to write this review today was the fact that I was sitting by the pool breastfeeding my 3 month old WITH A COVER OVER US, AND one of the female lifeguards told me to feed him inside by the vending machines, and that I could not feed him in the pool area. When I asked her why (since legally I can feed my son anywhere I need toshe said it was because people would complain. We have made sure to follow all of the rules, and did this time too although Im glad we hadnt been in the pool yet because its a little cold inside to be feeding a wet baby. We wouldve been freezing. I am disappointed in how everything here has went so far. Maybe it will get better. All in all the pool is very clean, and the facility is well maintained, but they could work on how they treat their guests, and members. Also, the heated therapy pool says 14 & under are not allowed, and I assumed because bigger children can be roudy, but dont date try to take a 3 month old baby in there. I understand rules are rules, but what about the moms, or dads who dont want to take their baby in a 12 foot pool, and would love to relax in the therapy pool where its shallow, and warm enough for babies. Maybe they should think about revising the rule to ages 2 to 14 not allowed. That would be understandable.
I love the aquatics center but the gym fitness equipment could definitely use an upgrade or at least get serviced regularly. The rest of the center is awesome, though the small workout area needs much attention
