City Park in Butterworth

Cant complain much about a free park, just that it would be good for the parking situation or at least public transport station to be sorted out and done up properly. Since they closed the park off to vehicles, the old parking lots are now bare. Just wondering what the city council plans to do with the space?

Carpark is located next to sjkt azad.Had a great stroll on friday morning around 10am. Less crowd since its not yet public school holidaysTheres a shallow pool for kids to enjoy.But the remaining deeper pools are still under maintenance.A mini cafeteria located in the middle of the park.Toilets are well kept, theres also breastfeeding room for mom. Not that fancy though, but fans are provided

I pass by here to hike Astro Rock. Anyway this City Park is well maintained and enjoy family time, friends having fun here. Nice place.

A nice hike up to Astro Rock, before decending to station 5. It was quite a hot day today after a few days of rain earlier in the week. Overall it was a good hike. Very scenic views of the Penang Turf club and Georgetown from the top of Astro Rock.

Beautifully landscaped with lots trees, plants, flower and myriad of activities that you can do such as jogging, exersizing, hill climbing, jungle trekking, skateboarding, cycling and of course photograpy. Theres also swimming pools for kids.Pay respect to the owner of the park ... monkeys!

A great park with many old and tall tree and quite well maintained

Good news. It is OPEN for public. Even the skatepark is open.

The park is open for exercise/hiking activities, for individuals and not for groups. Took an easy hike to station 39 via point 6 trail. Not too many people hiking today.

The fact that its hiking trail can bring you to Penang hill is lesser known, Stop no. 3 used to be a reating space with food(usually fried noodlesand drinks provided by volunteers before the pandemic. Dont bring any food up as this might catch unwanted attention from the shrewd monkeys. ( Call them shrewd for a reason Try to maintain a safe distamce from the monkeys and please wear a mask while maintain your social distamce during the hike. There is no route planning measures means that you might be at risk of infection if you are hiking up while people are going down and the trail could be narrow at some point.

Beautiful park, well maintained. Google map took us to the wrong entrance instead of main entrance with a big parking lot. The guard who was in other entrance showed us the main entrance is next to Indian school.We tried to find swimming pool which is still open to walk not to swim. Unfortunately I couldn’t find the swimming pool but place was pleasant enough.The only downside is there are so many monkeys near entrance area which scared me. They are not aggressive and there are signs not to feed them which helps attitude of monkeys. There should be enough natural food for monkeys considering so much trees around.Great to have huge & well maintained community park nearby town.

a lot of people in weekend, people who are jogging, playing in field, playing volleyball, playing at playground.i wish near my house area have this kind of park.

Coming back to here after years ago but the facilities are getting better and well maintained.

Superbly maintained. Large car park split over three plus roadside. A measured walk for those seeking exercise plus a large green where evening aerobics classes are held. Walk past the well stocked shop to the toilets and then into the multi-pool area - fantastic for children! All around the park are exercise machines plus a skate park!!Add to the above the various paths leading into the jungle and youve the perfect place for gentle strolls or exercise walks or fun afternoons with the family or more vigorous hill climbing.

Best place for families with kids of all ages I have ever seen. Lots of shades, good playgrounds and free pooös of various depths. I would recommend taking a swimm tshirt with you though.

After a long hike to meet this is worth it. To get this fresh air after living this hectic lifestyle is beyond amazing 🥰 this is just a view from level 3. Will definitely try higher next time 😊

Great place for children and adults to spend time close to nature. It has a huge play station and childrens pool where they can play safely

A nice park to go to with friends and family for a walk or to do sports. There are bathrooms and toilets although they are not so clean. If you walk upwards beyond the swimming pool, you will find some fruit trees like jackfruit, starfruit, etc. Becareful, there are a lot of monitor lizards.

Very nice and clean place for family and friend gathering and relaxing in the weekend. Not very far from town center. Have lots of amenities such as playground, public swimming pool for adult and children, gym, achery range, skate boarding ground,. Tai chi area and outdoor exercise equipment

Nice and green surrounding. With a few children pools, children play grounds, adult gym training facilities, nice jogging track, can even hike up to Penang Hill. Great outing place for family with young children.

Love this park! Huge playgrounds and free pools and splash pad. We have gone on both weekdays and weekends and while the weekends are busier it wasnt overwhelmingly so. The kids could literally live at this park, they always have so much fun. Even though a lot of the pools are shallow there is still a risk for drowning so always be sure to constantly supervise small children.

A great and free public park. Plenty of facilities. There is a place to get food etc. and it’s all shaded. Perfect to take the kids for a run around. There are also some clean public pools and not particularly crowded. A nice option instead of heading to the beaches. There are monkeys but they tend to keep to themselves. They didn’t hassle us while there. Which is a good thing

Fantastic facilities amidst beautifully landscaped parkland

The playground was wonderful. They had plenty of play stuff for the kids. Plenty of shade and seats available. Parking was a breeze. The only thing was the monkeys. They can get pretty scary as they are not scared of humans. Need to teach your children to not wave at them or make sudden movements near the monkeys.

Good place for weekend walk and hiking to Moongate 3 and Moongate 5.

Easy to moderate hiking trail from Youth Park. Youth Park is suitable for all ages and best pick for family weekend activities.

A great place for exercise and relaxation.

Clean, smoking is prohibited, trash cans are available to dispose of our picnic bags. Kids have lots of fun in the playground that looks perfectly safe, under adult supervision, of course. The only annoying thing is that if you miss a parking spot, the one way road prevents you from going back to the place where you saw one. And as always, bikes manage to find their way through... You can play tennis, football or badminton, theres space for everyone!

A great recreation park for healthy lifestyle.

We wanted to cool off on a very hot day so decided to come here for the pool. I was not expecting a lot but I was very pleasantly surprised. Its a quiet and and peaceful park with lots of locals. The changing facilities are not the worst Ive seen but could have places to put clothes down etc.My favourite part of the visit were the amount of monkeys there. Luckily we kept an eye on our belongings so nothing was stolen but do make sure you do not bring food as they are very quick!There is also a store on site which sells floats, snacks, food and drinks which is a good place to relax after.

Its recreational area. Visitor can jogging here. Family can bring their children bath in 3 type of pools. Visitor can do light excercise also.

Excellent park, with a variety of possible activities available. Can get crowded on the weekends (especially for the open field, the pool and playgrounds). If you want to escape the crowd, you should try the various trails running up the hills toward Bukit Bendera. It is possible to climb all the way up Bukit Bendera from the Youth Park.

Wonderful park! Very nice playground! And a lot of kids in it. Different attractions for any kind of people and any age. Very big park. A lot of monkeys, be careful! Take your snacks/lunch with you - we found just a shop with water/ice-cream inside.

Best place to take a stroll around, jogging, or bringing your children for a walk or swim in the pool provided. Clean and fresh air to clear your mind. The scenery is also beautiful. Great place to take a wedding or convocation photos.

Today visited youth park with family. Taking fresh air, relax and having soft exercise with family. We visited the park so many times. Excellent place having fun with kids and elderly. The Park was very clean and well organized. Fun part was having ice cream and a cup of coffee with family in the Park. We will comeback again definitely! Highly recommended!

Best place for family 👪 day out...

This park is huge! It has several playgrounds, walking paths, exercise equipment, and swimming pools! Plus, lots of wildlife and forest. A must visit.
