Upscale yet casual American eatery with an oceanfront veranda offers seafood & other elevated fare.
A great evening at Citrus Grill. Fantastic food , creative menu, and a direct ocean view! Executive Chef Scott Varricchio came over to our table to personally make sure we were completely satisfied with our meals. It’s obvious he loves what he does. I can’t think of a better restaurant anywhere else and I wholeheartedly recommend Citrus Grill.
We heard they had a new chef, and we werent disappointed, as the food was very good.
Waygu burger was juicy and flavorful. Great views of the ocean, too! Staff was friendly.
The food is always delicious and the view is fantastic. My favorite dish is the local snapper.
Great place, service and atmosphere. Sat at the bar for dinner and Kristi was awesome!!!
Food was fantastic. We sat at the bar before we were going to the table. It seemed like we were rushed to sit down. I assumed they had reservations for our table after but the place was empty when we left. Not sure why that was a thing. atmosphere was good and the people staff was nice.
Outdoor seating. Perfect ! Birthday weekend -lucky me! Consider yourself lucky if you have Alex as your server. He is also a great bartender. Big fan of The Prisoner Red Blend & noticed Blindfold on their menu. Same winery. Alex described the flavors & gave me a taste. Wow! Then when he poured my glass he brought the bottle to the table which was an impressive touch. Our salads & main courses were fantastic. Too full for dessert …yet…had to order the (warm!cookies & milk.Run here! Worth it.
Nice restraint, many good dishes. The prices are abusive,48.00 for lion fish.68.00 for rib eye.enough already with the corn meal.
Fantastic dinner with a beautiful view of the ocean!
One of my faves in Vero Beach. The view, the ambiance, the food, the amazing bartender! Fantastic! Highly recommend!
We were a party of ten celebrating my brothers birthday today. Our server was amazing and my brother said his burger was the best he has ever had. And dont get me started on the truffle fries! All around great experience!
You cant beat the ocean view. We enjoyed the early bird pre fixe menu. Hubs had the salmon and I had the pork chop. Both were excellent. Our server, Vernon, was top notch. We never felt rushed and savored our meal and the view. Life is good.
Pretentious, mediocre and expensive. The fact that they dont offer bread service at these prices is a huge red flag that should steer your away. They will be happy to sell you a small loaf of bread at $4 a loaf, though. The food was decent, though not great, but not worth the prices that they charge. For dessert, they went on and on about their pastry chef, but the desserts varied between wildly unremarkable to downright awful. To sum it up simply, there are a huge number of eatery options at this price point that you should consider before going here, and even more options with a lower price point that have far better food. Very, very disappointing.
Food was delicious, view was beautiful. Cant go wrong with a combination like that
Need more beer selection. The snapper with veg was good. Great service.
Great view on the beach ate at the outside bar and was very pleasant had the waygu burger was delicious overall was a great experience oh and friendly bartenders
The food was phenomenal! We really enjoyed our visit.
We were so looking forward to this since it was one of the few restaurants in Vero Beach we had not experienced. I ordered truffle fries they missed putting the truffles on them. I added scallops to my risotto order, when it was served it LOOKED like there were three scallops but they cooked only two scallops and split one horizontally making it look like three! Sadly will never dine there again! Even the people sitting next to us had problems with their order as well.
We came on June 16 th for lunch to celebrate a birthday. The excellent service started at the steps when I was greeted by Kenny . (I have a cane he asked if I’d be ok with the steps and waiting to help . We then were seated at the best table on the patio . Beautiful view . Our server Paul , Ivan and several other people took great care of us and just made our party a lot of fun . Food was excellent. Couldn’t have had better service . Thank youKendra McNatt , Lorraine Kerr and June GareyOh and if you need your groups photo taken , grab Paul 😉
Beautiful view but service was terrible and the days feature flatbread margarita cold and unappetizing with processed cheese on top. So didappointed
Great wagyu burger cooked perfectly. Temp rare. Delicious food great atmosphere
The food was great and reasonably priced. Wonderful setting on the beach. The best part of the experience was the people who worked there. We’ll be back, often
Went for happy hour drinks at the bar with friends. Two cocktails and an order of hummus set me back $32.00 so make your own decision. Location, location on the beach. Top notch friendly service.
Scott, Sue and Kristi provided an exceptional experience. The food was 10/10. I actually sampled and enjoyed food I had never tried or desired before. The experience from the staff, the unbeatable location on the ocean and the ambience was something I will never forget.I drove 50 miles to try this restaurant on a recommendation. I would drive 150 miles to do so again.Thank you for making a memory for us.
I’m a travel nurse here in Vero beach and I was gifted a gift card, my last meal here in Vero beach was by far the best! The atmosphere is lovely with a beautiful view, the service was excellent and the food was amazing!!! Creative delicious twists on classic dishes!
Wonderful dining experience all around in a terrific location with a great view of the rising moon. Food and service were both excellent. We especially enjoyed the Peruvian Sea Bass which was prepared perfectly. Highly recommended.
I am something of a connoisseur of beet salads. I try them at every location and its really hard to go wrong. I also very much dislike posting negative reviews, but I got absolutely bamboozled by what Citrus dubbed their Beet Salad. I received 6 quarter wedges of beet (=1.5 beeteach atop a dollop of cheese with the tiniest sprig of greens garnishing each beet. No bed of greens. It barely took 2 minutes to consume the plate... I will say, everything on the plate was delicious. But I had been looking forward to some healthy greens to offset my entree so I was very disappointed. I understand upscale restaurants love to play around with concepts but for $14 a salad should really include a handful of greens. Silly me for being so traditional... :/
The food was great! The angst came for me when I was the only person to order dessert and the server brought everyone (6else at the table a plate for me to share my dessert. So inappropriate. I was not impressed with her. Her mlady phrase was annoying.
We enjoyed very tasty food, nice friendly staff, and breath taking view, however we both got stomach upset ! Will we go there again ? Yes ! (Attention to the manager, you gotta find the source of this issue, not a clean kitchen ? Hygiene of staff, or temperature control of incoming material ).
We live local year around and have always enjoyed this place even when the portions are sometimes unreasonably small for the dollar. Recently unfortunately for us we did not get what we requested to go. Asked for the snapper but got a piece of very salty flounder. What a huge mistake for a restaurant to not know what they are doing. What a huge mistake for us; a couple that knows what we want and pays big for what should be top shelf food. And we did pay big and got shorted. There were other problems with this dinner too (over-seasoned pasta and grocery store desertso this review is more than gracious at 2 stars. The takeaway: there are other options out there for less money and less pain. Also: be sure to check your to go food since they don’t!
Long wait for overpriced food that is mediocre at best. $18 for canned tuna on a bed of romaine ? 🙄. That is their tuna salad. First drinks arrived after lunch was served. They were ordered first. Second round took just as long. They did say they were sorry. Will not return
Great location with gorgeous views and friendly staff. We had a great lunch at the bar. I had the chicken salad with miso citrus which was perfect, greens wilted just right and the dressing perfectly balanced. My companion had the hot dog which he deemed delicious! Well be back!
We were a table of 8. Waited at least 25 minutes to order drinks. Water glasses never refilled, food was good but for the pricy menu we feel it should have come with bread or a small salad. There was no garnishing on the plate.. very plain. Definately not worth the money!
The food, I had the mushrooms and red snapper, was outstanding. Being extremely critical, the mushrooms were a bit too salty for someone that loves salty, and there were too few tomatoes with snapper. I should have ordered a side vegetable. The snapper portion exceeded expectations. The only real negative was the seating. If you are a party of 1-2, expect to sit 3 away from another party, perhaps one on both sides, and have absolutely no intimacy.
The food was excellent. The service was even better. My husband and I agreed our server, Vernon, was the best server we have ever had. He was so attentive, kind and welcoming. He didn’t do anything particularly extravagant, he was just authentic and himself, which makes him even more great. I told the on duty manager all of this, but the owners and future patrons should also know. Citrus Grill is lucky to have him and we will be back on our next trip. Go here and ask for Vernon; you won’t be disappointed.
Beet salad, Ribeye and red snapper were excellent. Service was excellent with our server doing double duty as bartender.
Our server Layla made us feel rushed taking our orders and told us this is our busiest time, it was 7 pm not that the time should matter to us. Our entire interaction with her felt disingenuous and short. We ordered several appetizers and of all of them the fries were the best. Three of us had the flounder over cold pasta, it was just ok. For dessert I had the peach cobbler and it was terrible. My friend had the key lime pie which he said was excellent. Overall our experience was subpar.
Rented outside for a two hour Wedding Reception. My meal was brought out ten minutes before 2 hour deadline. My wife and i were the 3rd couple there and second table of four to give order request. No fault of the waitress but planning was terrible. Do not recommend anyone have a reception there.
My wife and I went to Citrus yesterday 06/09/2021 for dinner and cocktails. We were the first people to be seated at the bar. Our bartender, Peter was professional and knowledgeable about the menu and the evening specials. We ordered our cocktails and their wonderful imported olive starter as well as a beet salad. We also put in our order for an evening special, a veal chop and one entree off the menu. All of this was done by 5:30pm.Our appetizer and salad were served promptly. Both were delicious. Other folks were seated around us and Peter served them as professionally as he ok care of us.As time went on we noticed that other people were getting their meals and ours were not out yet. Peter acknowledged this and went in to check. He apologized for the wait. We finally got our entrees at 7:30 and they were served cold. I should have sent them back but I had them boxed to take home.Peter graciously comped our drinks which in reality was not the part of the dinner that lacked service or came short of expectations at all. The manager and kitchen should be the one that should have comped the cost.As we left I was approached by the manager who asked me how my dinner was and when I explained, all she could say was “ I wish I knew about it”. Well maybe that’s the problem.
Excellent food and drink, beautiful location. I had the snapper wife had flounder both were great. Highly recommended.
Worth the higher price points for well made unique menu items in a fantastic beach front setting
Nice outdoor seating with view of the ocean. Food is a bit pricey and not quite the quality for the price. Could use a few upgrades on the food level. Not very competitive with restaurants outside of Vero Beach food wise. Service was great. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Parking nearby is 2 hour and 2 public lots are near by. Access to the beach a few yards away. Nice choice for a fun day out if not looking for an amazing meal.
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING.. Probably the best food and cocktails in Vero. The patio is beautiful they are constantly cleaning everything LOVED IT!!!
Beautiful views and a knowledgeable bar staff! We only stopped for drinks today which were delicious, but we’ll be back soon for dinner.
If you want amazing truffle fries you’ve found the place. Like amazing! For the price though hubby and I weren’t wowed by the food. He said the scallops were okay. I had a pasta special, pictured. Super yummy. But not sure if it’s worth how much it was! Wait staff was kind. Service is definitely more fine dining so you’re waiting between courses. Nice for a longer date night out. Maybe not the best if you’re in a hurry. Overall we enjoyed our time there.
I love this place! The food and service were outstanding. The atmosphere is also amazing. You have to eat outside! The oceanfront seating is really cool. The food is a little pricey but its worth it. The 12oz prime burger is incredible. Its one of the best hamburgers Ive ever eaten. Make sure you upgrade to the butter truffle fries as well. Highly recommend. And make sure you save room for dessert!
A very disappointing dinnerWe were looking forward to our first visit to Citrus. The restaurant is located in Vero Beach on the North Hutchinson Island portion of A1A. We could hear the waves as we approached the entrance. The dining room is pleasant and reasonably well appointed. There is a busy kitchen that you can see from pretty much everywhere in the restaurant. Lots of cooks, waiters and other people busy attending to patrons. Once we had taken stock of our surroundings, we started perusing the menu. The menu itself is not very surprising, except maybe for the prices. There is a little bit of variety but nothing truly original. The wine list is ordinary though on the expensive side. We started by sharing an appetizer special made of mushrooms with a brandy sauce and goat cheese. The portion was meager. My wife then had a the Citrus Risotto which was just plain rice with a couple of slices of fruits; very underwhelming. I had the ahi tuna, served seared. The fish was properly cooked, the dish reasonably tasty but the portion also meager, especially considering the $44 price. We followed with a key lime pie that was so small that we thought it was a joke. It was not. The check was no joke either; you can have a mediocre dinner at Citrus for $80 per person, and this with just a couple of glasses of the most basic wine on the menu (this includes gratuity). To say it is not good value is an understatement. But then we were not looking for value; this was my wife’s birthday as I had mentioned at the time of the reservation and as the hostess confirmed after seating us. That was the only reference to the birthday all night long! So we paid $160 for a rather ordinary meal we did not enjoy. One thing we did notice is that several tables had ordered large portions of French fries as appetizers! So maybe, this is the secret for this place: order French fries! We will not be back to try.I almost forgot: they charge you for bread!
Unreal! Tried their burger, truffle fries, scallops and edamame and they were superb! Im a foodie person and been to many countries and Im telling you the dishes that I tried were out of this world. I just want to follow their chef and go eat there wherever he/she goes! Im living 90 miles away in Orlando, but the food was so good that I really want to drive there, eat and come back home! I would give 10 stars if I could!
Fabulous views of the ocean eating the lump crab salad! The service is wonderful. Very clean and inviting. Just know they close between 1:45 - 5pm.
Came for lunch and sat on the patio. Atmosphere was nice, a bit chilly on a windy day, but they offer a sholl to put over your shoulders with is nice. My food was very tasty.
