Ciro and Sons - Restaurant Pizzeria Firenze in Florence

Wow! Definitely give this place a taste! I had the lasagna which was the best pasta I’ve had all trip. All the pasta is handmade. They also have a large pizza menu, and they smelled delicious. This was only the second restaurant in Italy which we have found a Caesar salad on the menu. It too was delicious. I also had the minestrone soup, but beware it’s a large bowl not a cup. The hostesses and wait staff were all friendly and very polite even when we had to send something back. We have food allergies. And they were very nice about it and wanted everything to be great for us. Would definitely try again!

Delicious calzone and pizzas! The tiramisu is the best thing ever! Also shared a fruit di mare pasta and was really good. Their pizzas are part of UNESCO’s patrimony.

Best food in the town! We loved every dish that we order.The staffs are friendly and helpful.Will come back and recommend to friends for sure.

We are honeymoon couple in Florence, came all the way from Hong Kong with high expectations but ended with lot of disappointment towards customer service.We ordered pizza and t bone, it was very delicious. To get into perfect romantic mood you would also need good environment. Which unfortunately lacks tons in this restaurant per say.Floor staff was not approachable, super rude, not friendly, very bad attitude, Ill mannered, no greetings and default bread and spices not served on the table.Highly recommend for takeaway only but not worth to dine in.

One of the best restaurants in Firenze!! Ate lunch and dinner at this restaurant.. pizza, pasta and La Fiorentina are delicious. Staff are very nice.

I read a lot of reviews about this place, being the best gluten free restaurant in Florence and it did not disappoint, I loved the food here, however my eyes were bigger than my stomach and when presented with the option to eat everything, I’m probably guilty of that.Wonderful place, excellent gluten free food and lovely staff, all of whom were very conversational with the customers.100% recommend, don’t think about it, do it!

Incredible pizza, pasta, and service that makes you feel like family. We visited Ciro and Sons as recommended by the concierge of our hotel. Though we had said we would not be drawn into the same restaurant more than once while in Florence, we have already been there twice.We have members of our family who have food allergies. Gluten and pine nuts are a big challenge. Ciro can deliver virtually the entire menu free from Gluten, Dairy, and other allergens, if you simply ask.The Gluten Free pizza was the best pizza weve ever had (and not just the best Gluten Free pizza. The crust is incredible. We had the GF ravioli which was also fantastic.The only question now is do we go there a 3rd time during the week. One thing is for sure, well be back and will recommend Ciro and Sons to anyone visiting Florence.The infectious personality of the owners and staff come through loud and clear in the restaurant. The great food is complemented by the incredible team that aims to please at every turn.

After wandering the city for a place to eat, we eventually ended up at Ciros. There was a little bit of a wait to get in, but its definitely worth it.They start you off with some olives and serve you some bread. We had the bruschetta as an appetizer. The bread was well toasted and the tomatoes were well seasoned.The pasta was great. The alfredo sauce was rich and creamy, and the portions are generous, although perhaps just a tad overpriced (keep in mind you are in the tourist area). I really liked how they plated the pasta and allowed you to grate your own parmesan. I know it could seem somewhat lazy or "non-fancy", but I enjoy being able to do things myself. There is also a cover charge of €2/person.The staff are super friendly, even on a busy night like tonight, and the restaurant looks gorgeous, although they somewhat ruin the esthetic with a big flat screen with a sports game.I cant speak for their dietary options, but they advertise themselves as having gluten-free and lactose-free options. One thing is for sure though, they offer plenty of vegetarian options and it is well labeled on their menu.

One of our favorite meals in Italy! We came here to escape the heat wave and the air conditioning was a welcome break, but most importantly their pizzas were DELICIOUS! The quality of their ingredients was excellent and they had plenty of space to seat our large party of 10. Fun atmosphere, friendly service, excellent pizzas, I highly recommend this place if you’re in Florence looking for a great pizzeria.

The pizza was tasty but undercooked and the greek salad had a weird dressing which was not a typical vinager and oil based but more like ranch. It wasnt bad but average.

Excellent restaurant. Good food, good service, good atmosphere. They got air conditoner in the summer. Nothing to give them a minus. The price is reasonable.

Amazing service and food. Gluten and lactosee free option for all the meals. It was busy, recomment making a reservation. Super nice and delicious food. The prices are similar to other restaurants in Florence or Rome.

Everything here can be made gluten free, and many things also without lactose, shellfish, etc. Wine is sold by the glass (limited selection), half bottle (limited selection), or bottle. I got the fettuccine alfredo with truffles, and cheesecake for dessert. The staff is friendly, the service is incredibly quick (we sat down, ordered, ate lunch, and paid in < 1 hour!and the food is delicious. 100% to recommend!

Amazing gluten free food a must for any coeliac. My coeliac girlfriend particularly enjoyed the side garlic bread and dip, something she often doesnt get in other places. Portion sizes were very generous.

Staying in Florence for one night we ate here due to the rave reviews and gluten free options.Unfortunately we were really disappointed by the service, it took an hour to get our starters (both had the musselsyet one of them were almost cold, and followed that long waits again for food, the bill and more drinks.It’s an extremely busy restaurant, very crammed in and the staff are non stop (but very friendlybut I’ve no idea why there’s such a silly system of only having one member of staff who can take orders, another to take payment and the remaining people for clearing the dishes etc away?!The food once it arrived was actually quite nice hence the three stars.

My wife has celiacs (gluten allergyand we loved Ciro and Sons! We went several times during our stay in Florence. Great food, atmosphere, and service! Make sure not to miss out of the garlic dipping sauce.

This restaurant is a celiacs dream!!! It sounds too good to be true but it is not. Firstly, they had gluten free bread to start the meal off with, and it was fantastic - not just some dense gluten free bread that you get to accommodate at some restaurants. I wanted to eat it all.We ordered wine, fried calamari, pizza, tagliatelle with pesto, and my boyfriend got a (not gluten freelobster spaghetti. We both thoroughly enjoyed the calamari, which was so nicely breaded and arrived hot. The pizza was amazing. We’ve had a few pizzas around italy now and this was one of the best. The pasta was also delicious, and I was excited that they had all varieties of pastas available gluten free (not just penne or spaghetti). Had we any room, they had several gluten free dessert options, but we were stuffed. Service was prompt and friendly, and the owner also came around to check on things and was also very kind. Make sure you stop here if you are looking for a good meal!

My favorite pizza that I had in all of Southern Italy! The pizza oven is right in the kitchen where you can see it when you walk in. The owners sat right beside us for their own family lunch. It was very apparent that this is a restaurant that values the intimacy that comes along with sharing a meal! Love this place and will definitely return.

Ciro and Sons is AMAZING. I went to this restaurant 3 times, and every time, the meals were absolutely spectacular. There are no words to describe how delicious the food is. I must say, the pizza is the best I’ve had in my entire life. Super helpful and accommodating staff too! They clearly acknowledge allergens as well. Everything about Ciro and Sons is perfect.

I have inflammatory arthritis, which means I came to Italy (for a monthwithout being able to eat gluten, dairy, or tomatoes (and some other things.My health issues made eating incredibly difficult for me until I was turned on to Ciro and Sons. They make gluten-free PIZZA & PASTA but whats most incredible is that they also have vegan cheese. I am not exaggerating here when I say that the gluten-free pizza and pasta were better than anything Ive had in the states. Whether you have allergies or not, the food is incredible, and the family that owns the restaurant is so understanding and super sweet. If you are lucky, you may even get to meet Mama!

As for the service, it was… mixed. At the beginning, they were about to sit us then they said another couple came first so after we sat down, we got up. Then after a lengthy wait, we were seated but we saw another couple that came after us were seated and had ordered drinks already. That being said, a little number card or writing the names would have solved all this. Even the couple that were sitting next to us felt bad about this. Consistency is key and I don’t know if I can recommend it until they implement some kind of system to seat people. After we sat down, service was excellent.

We can’t say enough good things about Ciro and Sons! We went for a Celiac-safe cooking class which was amazing. We were brought into the active kitchen (before openingand got to see how everything works and make our own gluten free pizzas and bread. Unlike a more “cookie cutter” cooking class, it felt organic and like we were truly brought in on their process. It was the most unique culinary experience I’ve ever had in my life, and probably the highlight of the trip! Great people, great food, great experience all around.

Amazing hostess and staff! We dont have food allergies but were asked several times while ordering our dishes, so if you do have food related allergies I imagine you may want to check this beautiful restaurant out.Food was really great. We had Gnocchi, Calamari and of course Diavola pizza. Staff was SUPER attentive, spoke many languages (i heard Tagolog, English, Italian and French. Manager stopped by several times.A must stop for dinner while in Florence. Great for those new travelers wanting a guaranteed good experience.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner here. As a coeliac its amazing to be able to have anything on the menu (the whole menu is available gluten-free), and it was all as delicious as it looked. Friendly staff too, and a nice family story in the menu! Would 100% recommend, especially for the incredible gluten-free options!

We visited Ciro and Sons twice during our stay in Florence. I am yet to have a better gluten free pizza!The first night I also had GF calamari and I cannot stop raving about it.The staff ask if you have any dietary requirements before ordering and are then very accommodating without any fuss throughout.Highly recommend whether you are gluten free or not.My partner is not gluten free and has said its the best pizza he has ever had!If youre in Florence, go here. It wont disappoint!

From the moment we walked in the door till the moment we walked out the owners and staff made us feel so special and welcomed. We were there to celebrate our 25th anniversary and they made it so special. The service was great but the food was without a doubt the best we have had in Italy since arriving. My wife and I agree this is a must go to if in Florence/Firenze. Thank you all for a wonderful evening.

The BEST food you will find in Florence. Everything was perfect. The staff was super friendly and spoke English pretty well. They have many Glueten free options including pizza and pasta and even baked dough balls (gfwhich is almost impossible for my Wife to find in the states. Bring your smiles and appetite because this family owned and operated Ristorante will not disappoint!!

Had a very ordinary Florentine steak. Very fatty and not tasty at all. Overall very disappointing.

Finally a great gluten free pizza and helpful staff! Super recommended.Only con: a bit pricey and not nice to ask for the gluten free supplement.That said, I would definitely come back when in Florence.

This is a gluten-free persons dream place! Everything on the menu can be made gluten-free. I had the octopus carpaccio, gnocchi and tiramisu and it was all amazing. Would highly recommend!

Great vegan options, good prices. They definitely dont skimp on the vegan cheese, and its a really nice one too. The passata di pomodoro is outstanding, really sets it apart from non-Italian pizzas!

A gluten free factory restaurant conveyor belt. A restaurant devoid of any personality with the worst chairs ever in a restaurant, very noisy and tiny tables. The pizza was great, but the lobster spagetti lacked any personality or depth to it and had a meager bit of thin sauce. In and out in 45 minutes. A glutenfree circus

Such a gem and great find in Florence!! Every course was better than the next- caprese salad, calamari, pork with homemade apples, spaghetti with lobster and pecorino, but the dessert!!! Home made apple pie with a hint f Gran Mariners in the gelato and Tiramisu!! We came here when they were doing a photo shoot for the new menu- and everything looked amazing!! A MUST while here!

LOVED this place! My friend is vegan and I am gluten free so finding restaurants can be a bit tricky. Ciro and Sons was amazing! Everything on the menu can be made gluten free, and about 95% of the menu can be made vegan at no extra charge. The staff was super nice and friendly, and the food was really good.We asked why they are so accommodating and we were told "We just want everyone to be happy and to be able to eat what they want", which was so nice to hear!

I had a pizza with fresh basil, pesto (i asked, it does not contain cheese and is therefore veganand vegan mozzarella :It was delicious! You can even get a gluten free pizza! The staff was also very nice! Overall a very good experience :)

Ciro & Sons is a must-stop restaurant if you have any trouble with gluten...or just like delicious food in general. As a seriously gluten intolerant person, I tend to just avoid gluten-free substitutes as Ive tasted the real thing in the past (though it made me sickand see everything as falling short. That being said, Im human and miss the experience of bread, pizza, etc. Eating gluten-free pizza, bruschetta, and desserts here is like going back to the real thing and forgetting I have an allergy; its literally so so so good! My husband ate gluten-free with me and said the pizza tasted as good as any true flour pizza hes had! Moreover, the service is amazing. The family is present in the restaurant and are warm and welcoming. Their wine list is excellent as well! The last two times Ive been in Florence, Ive eaten at this restaurant multiple nights and will do so in the future. Dont miss it. :)

We just happened upon Ciro and Sons and were drawn in by the gluten free menu. I know GF goes against everything Italian cuisine stands for, but my stomach does the negotiating.They have a robust menu that can be GF or dairy free upon request as well has vegetarian options.The staff was fantastic and while they spoke English they were willing to entertain my attempt to use Italian phrases.A wonderful experience, if we lived near by, this place would be a go to!

Amazing gluten free and vegan pizza, pasta, appetisers, and dessert! This was our first dinner in Florence and we will definitely be back before we leave.

This restaurant is amazing!!!!! My husband and I loved it! The restaurant is big, but I recommend booking a table in advance. We ordered their famous “Bistecca Fiorentina” and the “Vino bianco della casa” for dessert we had their Tiramisu, which for us was one of the best we have ever had. On the second day we had, bruschetta for entry, Gnocchi, Pasta pomodoro and another great wine (image below)Food was great and staff was so friendly, that we came back the next day for our last dinner in Florence. Alessandro (the serverwas great! He speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish as well. Great guy!If anyone is in Florence sightseeing the city, you must stop by this restaurant. It is 5 minutes walk from the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore.
