If you are interested in World War II or Churchills life... THIS MUSEUM IS A MUST. Completely worth it, I was fascinated by the amount of information, interactive screens, and how well preserved the rooms are.

An incredible experience allowing you to tread in the footsteps of Churchill and other cabinet ministers who ran war operations in these rooms. Fascinating and historic it gives you a real insight as to what it must of been like to be a part of the operations. Featuring a state of the art Churchill museum it tells you everything about this amazing man with artefacts from the rooms. If you have an interest in Churchill, the second world War or enjoyed the film Our Darkest Hour, this is a must for you.

The museum is one of the best of London although it does cost money. 💰Its cool that the museum is in the war rooms themselvs. There are some interactive elements but I would add more. 🎮I recommend freeing about 2-4 hours to visit the museum. ⏰️Right outside the war rooms there is a nice big park and is also in walking distance from the Big Ben, Buckingham palace, and other popular attractions. 🕌Because Im not the biggest fan of museums I give Churchill War Rooms: 6/10 Camels.🐫🐫🐪🐫🐫🐫Like 👍 for more 😃

Churchill War Roooms is located in the perfect spot of the city. Saint James Park is across the road and the Westminster station is on the other side. Very convenient and easy to get in to. There are a lot of tourists but the queue is not so long.

The Churchill War Rooms tour is incredibly informative and really brings history to life. The tour staff is incredibly helpful in supplementing the information provided on the pre-recorded self tour, providing details unavailable elsewhere. It is remarkable to see where Churchill, his staff and his wife stayed during the bombing of London during the war. The Churchill museum, also located underground, provided details of his entire life, beginning at birth and continuing through to his death. The original door from 10 Downing Street when Churchill lived there was on display among so many other famous and precious relics. It was very well done and you felt like you were there with Churchill throughout the tour. Make sure you stop at the Churchill War Rooms.

Superbly well presented! This is a required stop when in London. Plan on 1.5 hours to take in the scope of this exceptional historical figure.I recommend a timed entry purchased in advance to avoid the inevitable long line. Get there early as it fills up fast even with a reservation.

Real place to explore and remind about the Second World War 🌎Time to refresh the school knowledge :)History repeating? - Never again?!Wikipedia:"Churchill was a prime minister (1940–45during most of World War II, Winston Churchill rallied the British people and led the country from the brink of defeat to victory. He shaped Allied strategy in the war, and in the wars later stages he alerted the West to the expansionist threat of the Soviet Union"

Not a place I would have gone to had my nephew not been interested, but in the end we spent 3 hours touring the 5 floors of the museum. Its free but be sure to buy something at the gift shop or make a donation. There is a Spitfire hanging from the ceiling along with several other war aircrafts. At the moment there is a moving gallery dedicated to the holocaust. You can book a free time slot online.

The subterranean rooms of Churchill, in which Churchill and war cabinet directed the war plans, strategies and execution during the worst days of the WW2... the place is well conserved to reflect how the high direction worked on those stressful days. I recommend to book tickets online with days in advance to get comfortable time slots. Spend some time on the bookstore souvenir shop where there are many items related to WW2.

Such an amazing start to our European holiday here. The location alone was close to many historic buildings and landmarks. Even those who are not history buffs should visit as they would enjoy this location. Our teenagers had a very good time. Prebooking your tickets gets you in during a 30 min window and once you are in, there are not large crowds and you can wander at your leisure. Your tickets include an audio guide which had a lot of interesting facts. We really enjoyed it here!

This is a cool place to visit, especially if you’re interested in history and Churchill in general. It involved a lot of reading, audio, and information, which was really helpful. However, we had just landed in London so I found it slightly tiring trying to absorb so much information. It’s a nice museum and really cool to experience where so much history happened.I did think it was a bit pricey. I was able to get a student discount, but I felt like it we spent a lot of money in a short amount of time here. On the other hand, if you’re interested in the history surrounding this, I’d say it’s worth a visit and you’d probably like spending a couple hours here.

A very worth museum! Give yourself time to really read the exhibits in the Churchill room. If you’re already a Churchill/ww2 buff move quickly through the war years so you can spend time reading about the post war years, his youth and the ‘wilderness’ years. Does a decent job of not romanticizing him too much and acknowledging his racist views and negative behaviors as well as his greatness. Very cool to see the map room left just as it was at the end of the war.

A friend recommended we go here and we are so glad that we did! This was our favourite of the WW2 historical stops. They do a great job in telling the story and making history interactive. Very impressed. We attended on a weekday and pre-purchased our tickets. Minimal wait time on the queue. Well worth your time.

Unfortunately we werent impressed. For £30, we expected a really cool experience, but it was super crowded (we bought tickets online thinking there was a limited number of people let in but they just seem to let anyone queueing in regardless of how many people were in the tiny corridors). You get an audio guide so everyone crowds around the same spots where the 2-3 minute segment plays, but many are located in corridors so there is no space to stand to listen. There is also a distinct lack of critical engagement with the history - its all very gushing, more of a fan club base for Churchill and the British Empire than a museum. Very disappointing as the free IWM across the river is fantastic and weve been many a time.

Everyone told us to visit this museum and they weren’t wrong. An amazing time capsule of the events of WWII and the history of Winston Churchill. To manage a country and the chaos of war in these bunkers must have been a Herculean task. Well worth the visit.

Neat historic spot right in the middle of downtown London. The bunker has been nicely upkept to preserve the history. The audio guides for the tour do not require headphones. I do recommend the audio tour, as it nicely complements the walk through. You can move at your own pace. We took a teenager and he enjoyed the history of WWII. We also caught a neat parade as we were leaving.

What a wonderful experience to look at the famous war cabinet room and Chruchill’s bedroom inside these War Rooms (used to be Britain’s headquarters in WWII). The museum is way more extensive than expected. Strongly advise to save at least 6-7 hours for a full visit. Just come in the morning and leave as it closes would do.The museum is in multimedia with a good portion of excerpts by the War Rooms staff working closely with the PM then.Staff are generally nice. However, a number of them are unprofessional and even notably rude when it comes to the brink of closing time. Guards chattering around does hinder the experience a bit, especially you are on the audioguide speaker. Minus one star for that.Hope that the War Rooms would be included in London Pass for tourists in the future.

Here History was made, nothing in London’s history is as incredible or interesting as it’s perseverance and Will to survive, demonstrated by no one better than the formidable and legendary Sir Winston Churchill. The museum tells the story of Churchill throughout his life with extra focus on WWII while he was the prime minister. If you do the tour quickly you can wrap up in about an hour, but it would most likely take at least 1.5 hours if you want to cover it more thoroughly. You get an audio device at the entrance with guided info for every room. They have info in multiple languages including Hebrew.

Went here with a few friends as they wanted to go.Not sure why I was surprised by how interesting it was and what I was thinking, but what I do know is it was a great afternoon of learning and in great detail. The lack of pictures is because I generally forgot as I was quite into it but noticed theres plenty of people who have on other reviews 😊 you start in the area where a lot of the key decisions were made and when you look above you see the steel ceilings that were made, its crazy to think but so much history in one area. What they do is provide a phone which you put to your ear and code in each section, and then it explains in detail key moments.Location is right near to parliament so easy enough to find your way there, if a nice day would recommend walking. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and hope this review makes you go.Book in advance as always better.Solid A***** from me.LDT x

I liked it. Very informative about Churchill. Sometimes a bit messy on where to go inside, but its not too bad.Spent about 2-2,5 hours here, personally I found that enough. Though if you like reading stuff Id think 3-4 hours would be necessary.Furthermore I found it quite busy. But didnt ruin the experience.Overall it was alright. Though I wouldnt recommend it to someone who has no previous interest in WW2 or other historic events regarding Churchill.

Great historic experience but was left somewhat lacking for the price of entry. Feel like I missed out on a lot information as we did not want to pay extra for the audioguide. It’s still a must see attraction for WW2 history but I would advise visiting the IWM on the same day for a fuller experience.

So atmospheric! You can completely imagine the secretaries and dashing officers rushing around these claustrophobic corridors during World War 2. Entirely understandable why Churchill only slept here on 3 nights. The Churchill Museum has highlights of some of his brilliant speeches but I particularly liked the display that described a day in Churchills life during the war. Theres a cafe about half way round, with good sandwiches and cake. A really fantastic way of reflecting on what our grandparents and parents had to deal with during a terrible time.

"Winston Churchill" a historical figure in second world war. Like any other politician he is either a warrior or transgressor depends on the time, people perspectives and political affiliation in those era. It is truly an unusual place as those underground bunkers, commentaries on the phone regarding the site, and those war rooms, infrastructures and its surroundings gives you an immersive experience. Churchill, his staffs and army personnels of that time who assigned there during the combat seriously came up against some remarkable, distinctive and quiet challenging situations which we can hardly gasps but true understanding will always remained to those who withstanded it.

Absolutely brilliant afternoon out! Learnt so many interesting facts about Churchill and life during World War Two.The audio guide was very useful and covid friendly (looks like a phone so can be easily wiped down). The audio guide included interviews with people who used to work there during the war, which gave really good insight! The rooms were so well preserved, even 3 sugar cubes from the 1940s had remained untouched in one of the desks! It was like stepping back in time.Only complaint, which isnt much of a complaint, is that there wasnt much choice in the cafe which was disappointing but didnt really effect the experience. The gift shop had plenty of choices and wasnt overly expensive.

Underground bunkers in central London. They are located under The Treasury Building in the Whitehall area of Westminster. Used by English during WW2.Museum includes art exhibitions as well as an extensive exploration of the life of Winston Churchill. Additionally there are detailed accounts of what functions the rooms served during the war effort. Many rooms have mannequins to add a touch of realism to the exhibits.Allow yourself enough time to visit. Easily can take you a couple of hours to tour using the available audio guide.

Love anything to do with Wartime London. Even the location is in the heart of London surrounded by gorgeous architecture. This was another place on my ‘post COVID’ list. The staff were very welcoming and informative and I thoroughly recommend getting the audio guide. Each section gives a great level of detail at every interval. The war rooms really give you a detailed idea of how London persevered through the war and how essential the underground bunker became during hard times. The gift shop at the end was full of trinkets, books and memorabilia.

Important historic site and audio guides are great to lead you around the underground complex and give lots on information. It’s atmospheric and the numerous excellent exhibits capture and represent the WW2 history. It reminds me Battle of Hong Kong in WW2 Talks about everything from Churchill beings born and his life even before the War. It recommend spending around 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours to fully experience everything.
