St. Peterhofstatt 2, 8001 Zürich, Switzerland, Zürich (Kreis 12)
Enduring parish featuring Romanesque & Gothic architecture & a large church clock.
A lovely spot to go inside, and sit for a while. It’s in a very pretty location.
If you want to take pictures, I suggest to go to the other side of the river
Beautiful, historic, ancient church with a wonderful bell toll. Take the time to walk around the roads leading to the church as there are many great picture opportunities.
Beautiful
Great old Church. Very beautiful, the ministers of the church are very kind
Really beautiful church right in the centre of the city, though in a quiet location ✨️
Great city landmark
🇨🇭🫶🥰
Was very sunny day so got good images. Inside is very nice to visit.
A historical church that is quite different from the other Zurich churches, in that when we visited, the door was left opened with no one manning it. We were able to explore the interior on our own and there was also no entry fees. The church is also quieter than the others and felt more peaceful.
It is oldest of the four main churches of Zürich. It was built on the site of a temple to Jupiter and former churches from before the 9th century. Rudolf Brun, first independent mayor of Zurich, was buried here in 1360. The Church’s steeples clock face is the largest church clock face in Europe. Its diameter is 8.7 m. There are five bells dating from 1880 in the tower – the largest of which weighs over six tons without its clapper.. In initial days, the church tower is also used by Fire police.
Simple. Laid back. Not crowded. Organist was cool.
St. Peters is a landmark that shouldnt be missed. When wondering around Zurich make sure you stop by and explore the grounds.
Simple church. One of the earliest to open...so one can start zurich tour with this one
Historical Church situated in the old town of Zurich
St. Peters Church is visible from all over the town along with other two Churches of Fraumunster and Grossmunster, making it an important and distinctive part of Zurich panorama. It has the biggest clock face in Europe, but I found it very simple and nothing extraordinary. Moreover, the interiors left a pretty disappointing impression when we entered. The Church is on Limmats right bank, on an elevated position near the Lindenhof view point, so be prepared for some walking uphill
Lovely
St.Peter church is a one characterized by the big musical instrument which still working
One of the three representative churches of Zurich, featuring a huge clock face, it can be reached by walking down from the Linderhof Hill to see the city view of Zurich.
One the main churches in Zurich with the beautiful clock.
Beautiful church, would have loved to see it on the inside as well, it was closed when we got there even though we arrived during the mentioned visiting hours on the website.
Amazing old town views
Good view at the opposite.
St. Peter is one of the four main churches of the old town of Zürich, Switzerland, besides Grossmünster, Fraumünster, and Predigerkirche.
Interesting view to eye up the church when you walk along the alley in Lindenhof area.
Interesting clock face and architecture. Easy to walk to from the main station. The walking route map takes you to see this.
A historical gem. Lots of history in this beautiful church. The organ playing adds to the great atmosphere.
Very calm and nice place, I have a great opportunity to meditate with locals, I feel myself like a part of the family 👪, I really appreciate that, that is priceless. Thanks.
Lovely quiet surroundings specially during fall.
Like theyll tell you on the tour it is the largest clock face in Europe (yep even bigger than big ben). Also notice how the four is written. One theory is they didnt want it confused with the eight.
A great reformist church to visit. The organ sounds fantastic in the nave, as the surrounding walls are paneled with hardwood and render surreal acoustic effect. Look for a organ performance if you are not in a hurry, and enjoy the powerful and soul reaching play. The ancient clock on the tower is enormous and a landmark standing tall at the high grand of the city. Highly recommended!
The church has a very big clock. Nice place and monument. Very old.
Distributed over two floors and in summer on the terrace, there is both a large choice of dishes and a large salad buffet. The quality of the food is good for a canteen in my opinion. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant is spacious uses.I was there recently and could hardly believe it, but a plate of chicken strips with Calvados sauce,
Nice historical clock. Views of the clock from many angles in the city!
Wonderful church in city center of Zürich.
Directly at the restaurant St. Peter is located at the parade ground in the vicinity of the Zeugnauskellers. The public restaurant also serves as a canteen for some banks in Zurich, which is also the reason why an interesting mix of guests to be found here and why are different prices in the courts.
A church with a clock in the top of the tower located near to the city centre of Zurich
Nice place which can spend over for a hot beverage and rest your legs.
The biggest dial of all the Landmarks from Zurich. Stunning to watch during the day and astonishing through the illumination during the night.
Not as photogenic as other churches, however it stands at an opening into a beautiful area to walk. And at an entrance near a bridge.
Oldest parish church in Zurich, tower bells are 6000kg and date back to 1880
Lovely old church hidden away on a quiet square near the old centre of Zurich.
Didnt get to go in but its still beautiful place to visit. Largest functional clock face in Europe.
St. Peter is the oldest parish church in Zürich. In addition to that this church has the biggest clock face in Europe. The bells date from the 19th century. If you walk from the train station I think it will take you about 20 minutes to get here. Even though it does not attract as many visitors as the nearby churches in Zürich, it is definitely worth a visit.
Great church worth a visit. Large groups arent allowed but a family can get in to look around. There maybe paritioners praying inside, so try to be respectful of their space.
Nice place, one of tourist attractions of Zurich, in summer time locals come here to have lunch or relax
The 5 franc entree fee included an audio guide. The church is simple and rather uninteresting. The audio guide subtly seemed to be advertising Lutheran values along with the history of the church. When compared to other churches in Europe, this one is better seen fromoutside. Skip it and go see the Swiss countryside.
St. Peter church is a long history and unadorned church in Zurich. Dont miss it when you visit Zurich.
A very beautiful architecture with the combination of the biggest clock on the tower in Europe. The inside is nice with the calmness of atmosphere.
One of the main attractions in the old town and deservedly so. Concerts inside the Church were quite good. And of course, the largest tower clock face in Europe
