The place is apart. You feel at peace. There is a wonderful aroma in the air.

The church is small, nice to see, but I wouldnt go out of your way to see it.It has trees growing on the roof top and within the walls of the structure itself, but no roots are inside dangling down.There is a river adjacent to it but not much else to see.

Its a real miracle before your eyes! Just visit this amazing place!

Very special atmosphere! The trees on the roof are really impressive... Didnt want to go from there :)We will visit this place again for sure, as soon as possible, and stay more time!

A miracle of nature.

Amazing place with history behind it! If you enjoy nature and green you will love it. After the church there is a path through the forest with lakes ducks and tall trees leading to a water mill where they make flour. The sights are fantastic. On top of that there is a restaurant where you could have local food and refreshments.

Pretty place, magical, like in a fairy tale. Go grab a coffee close by. The gardens are also very beautiful.

Amazing spiritual place with incredible history

A beautiful place, amazing Church of Agia Theodora a must to see. Theres a great little track, running stream with restaurants to enjoy the time there.

Its really amazing to see. The nature everything around it is beautiful!

From the road Megalopolis towards Kalamata, a picturesque small road of approx 20km bring you to the place. Agia Theodora is a small stone church of 12th century with 17 big trees…grow on its roof! Strange enough there are no roots inside the church!To explain the miracle a research project launched in 1996 by the University of Patras. Summarising the findings the scientists wrote:“It was proved that the roots follow the gaps existing inside the side stonewall creating repulsion stresses between the stones and thus they reach the ground. This leads to the creation of a net of roots that reinforces the building from a static point of view opposing the roof load but also destroying the stonewalls. It was also proved that the south wall is almost intact while there seems to be a particular void in the north wall”Worth a visit since the feeling from the photos is far from the feeling you have soon you see the church

A recent miracle! Its beyond the laws of physics how on earth can this roof of the church hold these trees!!!Not an easy road to get there, lots of curves uphill and downhill.Not many things to see near by besides the church itslef. Two taverns with lots of visitors.

A most miraculous church in the very heart of Peloponissos! Connected to a Saint woman of the Eastern Orthodox Church who became a symbol for all times, this is a place you will never forget once you visit. You can stay long hours, as there are facilities for coffee, drinks, food bit the unbelievable part is the very church of Saint Theodora. A lifetime experience, well worth the winding roads to get to!

Very strange to see all these trees growing on the roof but no sight of them on the inside, beautiful area.
