Chumley's in Columbus

Everyone should be going to Chumley’s on Thursday nights. You pay $8 for a schooner that you can take with you and bring back on mondays and thursdays to fill up with beer for $2 a beer or other drinks at a discount.Chumleys is a sports bar with two stories and great music. Plenty of tvs to watch the games on. Their food isn’t the best bar food I’ve had; however it’s a college bar and most don’t even serve food so it’s still a plus (especially if they have $2 beer that fills up an entire schooner).The one exception to their food is their nachos. By far they have the best nachos I’ve ever had at a bar. It’s definitely the move on game day.

Good burgers, tots, music. Very loud. Cheap. A dive bar in the best sense.

Would be great if the bartender wouldnt throw her phone down in frustration every time I asked for service. Shes currently hiding in the corner of the bar with a few servers rather than checking on the only 3 people at her bar. Served me a warm, actually warm to the touch, draft beer and was angry when we interrupted her on her phone to ask for a bottle.Policy is to NOT change any TVs at the bar? You have to go find the game you want on a tv somewhere in the building then go back to the bar for service. Just waiting for halftime so we can get out of here and watch the game somewhere else.

Have tried a couple different meals now and all have been very mediocre. The worst part was today, I ordered Mac and cheese and basically spent $4 on kraft Mac and cheese without them putting all the cheese in...

Dont waste your time or you money coming here! The service is absolutely terrible. You have to flag someone down everytime you want anything, I waited for a refill on mywater for over 50 minutes; while all the servers and kitchen staff hung around socializing in the corner. When we took our bill they didnt even say thanks, have a good night, nothing. The lack of courtesy and professionalism is unreal. Again....DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!!!!

Chumleys is the best because they cater to sports fans! The game is on plenty of TVs, cood and drinks are reasonably priced, and the place is always CLEAN! What more could you ask for?

Nice clean bar, which you dont see on campus much. Foods actually really good. GameDay vibes are the best there. Upstairs and downstairs seating.

$2 wells on Fridays are a hit and if you tip well, the drink might just be straight liquor. Hit up their schooners too!

No greet on arrival. My burrito wrap came out a little cold and took about 35 minutes at lunchtime on a slow Saturday non college game day. Deals didn’t stick out but the beer list looked extensive. Will pass next time in area.

Since chumleys moved down to 9th street its quality has gone nothing but up. With one of the best tap selections close to campus, this is a true sports bar meant for game days. No tickets, no problem, chumleys has a great osu football game day energy. Plenty of screens to see every game, with typical beer prices ~5-6$ for a pint of a midlevel beer. Schooner nights offer a huge variety of deals, and if you dont have one yet, purchasing one plus a fill of beer is the same price as two pints, making it a steal of a deal.

Service ... what Service? Typical college town bar with the emphasis on the bar that serves over priced food. Food was mildly edible and not always what you ordered. Very disappointing considering the hype and cost. If your over 25 dont bother...

Best deals in the gateway district on Mondays and Thursdays. Buy yourself chalice and drink 32oz of your favorite domestic for $2. Craft beer $6. They have a large variety of liquors, mixed drinks and food to eat. Patio seating and a full service bar. Jukebox after 10pm and friendly staff. Parking garage is a block away or meter parking if youre lucky.

Always love going to Chumleys. Weve gone for just a family dinner or for late night shots. Great prices and the absolute best wings!!!!

I fell in love with the original bar when I was at OSU so I was VERY happy to see the same type of vibe in the new Gateway location. The soft pretzels are a must- unless you hate hot yummy goodness served with cheese, mustard, AND cinnamon butter.

Refused to serve me because I had a "smirk" on my face waiting for drinks according to the bartender. Good drinks but absolutley embarassing service.

Went to a retirement party here. Had never been in here before and know I would like to come back here because its a great place to watch games the food is good is your typical sports bar but it had a great atmosphere and vibe and employees were nice.

This is one of my favorite places in town to drink and watch sports, especially football. Sundays are surprisingly mild most of the time, besides the Browns game time. That turns out to be a good thing. Get fast service and its not crazy crowded, easier to get a good seat. Plus, Sunday is half priced wings!They have TONS of beer on tap!! Bartenders are pretty good, but a few are better than others. You will be able to tell which ones are the really good ones. Their food is good, not great but good. Mondays and Thursdays they do Schooner night. You buy the initial 30oz schooner ($6then you get cheap refills, of course you get to keep the schooner.I would definatley recommend Chums to anyone wanting to watch sports or grab a casual beer. They also have board games. #localspot #football

Great atmosphere. Was hoping for a larger crowd but I guess we got here too early. TVs are on point. There’s an upstairs area with massive TVs. Surely need a Chumley’s in South Florida.

Great place to meet with others and have a cold beer. Many different types of beer on tap.

Like all of the TVs. But place gets too crowded. Bartenders are attentive, and beer selection is good.

My friends and I frequent chumleys because of the welcoming atmosphere and the great drinks. Their burgers are also to die for!

We stopped in after a game and ordered at the bar. The fries were undercooked and the quesadilla was cold. We never complained because it was bar food and it was busy. The bar was very crowded and the male bartender was just a jerk to the patrons. I am not sure if he was having a bad night but he really shouldn’t have been working with customers.

Great place to start your night and have a few drinks with your friends 🍻🥂. Love that Chumleys have a kitchen cause you can order food too. The staff was very respectful and helpful when asked questions. Been to this bar a few times over the years even before they changed locations. Was not that busy when I went recently it was really chill. My only thing it was super cold in there. which was fine cause honestly after a few drinks I was good. I just advice people who get cold easily bring a light jacket 🧥. Side note: during football season it does get busy, but you can still have a great time.

Very bad experience. Got my drink wrong, gave us boneless wings instead of traditional one like we ordered, waited an hour for my food and had to leave. They said they would take off the bill and didnt, charging me $50 for drinks and appetizers, but the bill wasnt itemized. They put our food in a plastic bag so we could leave, with no napkins or utensils. Horrible, and there was no one in the place on Sunday before my son started OSU. Boooooo

The service is horrible! We waited over an hour for our food and the beer we ordered from the menu weren’t on tab. Total failure of a sports bar!

Food was kind of bland and sauces were hard to get. (Had to ask a couple of times to get saucesbut beer was cheap and plentiful and the TVs were nicely placed and on the right channel

The last time I was at Chumleys was at its prior location some time ago, and it was on a Saturday night which meant the place was packed. Granted, Im sure during peak hours on those busy days this place is probably overwhelming for a casual stop. Ive never eaten here, so I cant speak on the quality of the food.The beer, however, is a vast selection and the tap system keeps everything at the right temperatures and taste. I went here while my girlfriend was busy with a medical appointment and had a couple beers while watching the Reds game. It was far from busy, with just a few couples sitting around the bar. This new location is very nice!

Huge hamburgers with so many different options. Wednesdays they are discounted. Went another time and just had appetizers - made a meal out of it. Will be going back.

This sports bar is alive and full of energy during any of the games seasons! The food and drinks available here are also quite good! This place is frequented by OSU students especially during weekends and game days.

Best bar on campus. They always have great drink deals and a large food menu thats reasonably priced. Owners are always present and work hard to make sure you have the best experience possible.Its also an awesome spot to watch NFL games on Sundays during football season.

Clean bar with table service. Nice place to sit down, grab a bite to eat, and order drinks. Their loaded french fries are particularly excellent.

I love chums, going to schooner night on monday or Thursday was a critical part of my time at OSU, great beer selection and my favorite OSU bar, coming back as an alumni the bloody Marys are a poor choice though. The wings are a good choice however

Trash marinara sauce, that looks like ketchup mixed with organo. Drinks dont taste like they have any alcohol in them and service is sub par at best.

So Chumleys used to be a thing a few years ago a bit further north on High Street, and by the looks of customer reviews it had some major issues. A groups of co-workers and I had a team lunch at their new location yesterday and, well, they may very well still have some issues.As soon as you walked in you notice the place is clean, tidy and roomy....then the smell hits you. I couldnt figure out whether someone just chopped up 2 day old hard boiled eggs or if there was a sewage issue, either way it smelled like you know what. I dont know if anyone else noticed but I cant imagine not noticing. After about 10 minutes the smell disappeared or I got used to it, still cant really decide.Our server was prompt and brought out glasses of water for everyone, except he forgot the silverware, which we didnt get until the food arrived. In his defense it looked like he was the only server working because, allegedly, theyre not very busy on chilly Monday lunchtimes. Regardless Ive had better and worse service, so well skip to the food.I ordered the Memphis Pit BBQ sandwich with a side of fries. We didnt have to wait very long before we got our food, although two of my co-workers had to wait an extra 5 minutes or so to get their orders. The sandwich was ok, not great but ok. The fries were seasoned very nicely but lukewarm, at best. No one really seemed to have an issue with the food but I didnt ask anyone how it was either.Because I didnt pay for the meal (our supervisor paidIm going to say the food was average, but Chumleys probably wont be on my list of go-tos if I have to pay myself.

Best sports bar on campus, hands down, no questions asked. Love the bartenders and the food isnt too bad either. Dont get me started with the draft beer selection, off the hook. Do yourself a favor and stop by chums, and go bucks baby.

It was overall good. I was disappointed that they use what tasted and appeared to be Kraft as their Mac and cheese for a speciality burger. The burger was at least cooked the way I wanted it.

Chymleys is a great place to go for food after Beat the Clock at the O. Even the old guy knows this ; But on a serious note, I tried the black bean burger and it was pretty good. I would definitly order it again.

We went here for a later dinner—maybe close to 8:30? The food was delicious. Drinks were very good. Service, however, was pretty slow. We weren’t 100% sure who our server was the entire evening, and we had to wave them down to get refills on our drinks. This won’t deter me from going here again. We had a nice time watching the games that were on and socializing with other friends there.

Im certainly not going for the food, but its a great, loud college environment with a ton of TVs and a huge menu. Other than being ridiculously crowded on Schooner night, Ive never had a really bad experience.

Too much treble and volume. Menu is extremely busy. Staff quite inattentive, having to call the waiter over 3 times in an hour while he stood flirting at girls table looking to get a phone number. Hmmm. Ordered wings. Ranch dressing watered down (management issues already cutting corners on 1st week. All in all, my 2nd visit is as disappointing as the first. Sorry but thats the way it is.

Really nice place, but the food was just bad. It shouldnt be that hard to differentiate between well done and medium well!

Schooner (big glass chalicenight is every Monday and Thursday. It might just be the best deal on campus. All refills are $5. The dual levels make and tons of TVs make it a perfect sport for watching football.

I have been to a ton of restaurants and bars in my life. I can confidently say this is top 5 all time worst places I have been. Service was terrible and the manager we spoke to was even worse. Screwed up orders, poorly made drinks, long waits when the restaurant was seemingly not very busy. Will never go back here again.

Absolutely terrible customer service. The bartender/supposed owner was upset when I politely asked her about the music being played, and then flipped out when I asked her if she could turn one of the television channels for me. She said they all had to stay according to her plan, despite this being a Sunday afternoon with about 6 people in there. Bartender was extremely rude and the service was terrible.

Let me start this off by saying that I frequent Chumley’s at least once a week for their Schooner nights and have had no problems in the past; however, on January 23 it was a little bit different. A group of us are out celebrating a friend’s birthday while ordering quite a few Schooner-refills along with multiple shots for the birthday girl all night. Around 11:30 a friend asks me to taste her drink, after I see the cringe on her face I asked what was wrong with it. She and multiple other people said “it tastes like feet and fish”, so I was naturally curious as the taste and how this abomination of a vodka-cranberry was served at this fine campus establishment. After tasting it, I asked my friend if I could go up and get her a new one, because when an establishment is putting out a poor drink, it looks bad on the bartender, the manager and the restaurant as a whole. I bring the drink up to the bartender and said that something was wrong with this drink and to ask for a new one or something different, mind you, there was still at least 80% of the drink left, we were not trying to game the system here. As the bartender tastes the strange mix of vodka and cranberry juice, the look on his face was something like what the heck is this. He goes over and talks to his manager and he comes back to tell me that there is nothing he can do so I politely asked to speak with the manager. A female with blonde hair and glasses comes over and speaks with me, as I explain the problem again and she says she has tested all of the ingredients in the drink and everything is fine. I asked her to try the drink sitting in front of her, which of course she was not going to do. The poor customer service of this manager was appalling as she insisted if I wanted a new drink I would have to pay for it. Could she not have just given me a different drink or a beer on tap to satisfy a customer complaint? Apparently not. When asked for the owner’s information, she said that she was part owner and was not going to give me the majority owner’s contact information. I patronize this establishment more than my parent’s would care to know, but that does not make the way I was treated last night right. The product that Chumley’s put out last night was a horrible rendition of a vodka-cranberry that no one should have to drink here in America.
