43 High St, Auckland CBD, Auckland 1010, New Zealand, Auckland
White-walled cafe serving batch-brew & cold-drip coffee, plus breakfast, sandwiches, wine & beer.
Oh this hidden gem in the CBD is a winner. Great staff, interactive and very funny. The girls know how to make you welcome. Coffee is pretty spot on and large coffee, $5.50. Within our price threshold for AK cafes!! Outside courtyard is tops. If you havent been here you will be chuffed. We will be back!!!!!
My favourite breakfast spot in Auckland - great atmosphere, friendly service, decent coffee and amazing food.
Disappointing. Searched best cafes in Auckland and this place came up but wouldn’t recommend. After waiting ages for a table, we were advised that the two things we wanted were not available when we tried to order, as they had run out of chicken and potato hash. The poached eggs came out with hard yolks and service wasn’t very friendly. Go elsewhere if you’re looking for somewhere great.
So many delicious options for vegetarians. Our group ordered several mains and everyone loved their meal. Our meals were so good that we almost went 2 days in a row. Nice casual spot for good coffee and tasty mains.
Presentation was good but the flavour of the meals was poor. The ingredients didn’t create a symphony, rather year 3 concert band. The crumpet was raw and stodgy. Coffee had burnt beans - which were extremely bitter and the chai latté could’ve done with some flavour. Loved the atmosphere though - recommend for someone who likes sparkling water and good vibes. You should probably get the cabinet food. Xx
loooow bang for your buck. nice space, ambiance and staff but food ultimately comes too short. 1 order of big breaky and 1 order of hash (chunks of potatoes sitting in oilwith some sour cream/ aioli… food pretty tough left feeling personally drenched in oil and overcharged ;(( 59 dollars for two people? a little insane.. or is that just auckland life? man at least throw in some microgreens on top to liven up the dish
We ordered the chilli scrambled eggs (was definitely spicy!with extra mushroom and the salmon crumpet. Both was yum and the coffee was great. It was such a cute little hideaway cafe, great atmosphere and friendly staff.
Best coffees in town, amazing food and lovely friendly staff. I go there everyday and the food and coffee is consistently Delicious.
Great coffee and food.Had the hash - potatoes weren’t super crunchy (personal preferenceand add-on of bacon was a bit expensive at $7 for only 2 skinny rashes but everything tasted good together and was well-balanced.Salmon crumpet was delicious, super fresh!Would give the fries a skip, weren’t terrible but not particularly crunchy and could taste the oil they were fried in.Friendly service, super nice people ☺️
Cool cafe with ample seating out the back. The food is delicious, loved the chicken sandwich, and the coffee is excellent. Great hidden gem.
Very nice food, very quick to come out. Cool menu, a lot of variety. Good spot for breakfast/lunch
Always a great place for a coffee and scone!
Great cafe with fantastic brunch options and coffee
Food tastes great, however, I ordered a Pork Shoulder Ragu and somehow got an allergy reaction from it. I am allergic to fish, so they must have cross-contaminated their dishes with the salmon when cooking. This is the second time that has happened as I had ordered a the Mushroom dish (which was a vegeterian dishand got an allergy reaction the first time. This is something they could improve on, but otherwise very nice place.
A cosy lunch spot that never disappoints. I ordered the smashed pumpkin on sourdough and it was excellent - my friends ordered the hash and looked just as delicious. Great coffee too!
Crowded for Sunday breakfast, but service was super quick and food and coffee were great. Crumpets were lovely - great texture and not overly sweet 👍🏻
The place is very nice but the seats are not comfortable, the coffee is normal
Chuffed is always a great place to visit for a cosy catch-up with good food. I used to enjoy their open omlettes, but unfortunately, theyve discontinued this dish. During my most recent visit, I tried the chilli scramble, which was very spicy but delicious. The egg was soft, the sourdough was delicate and bouncy, and the sauce decorated the dish well.Service was moderately good, and we did not have to wait long for our food. Coffee is amazing as always.
Fantastic cappuccino but the sandwiches were a hit and a miss. The Cubano was great, the Reuben however was a disappointment; the salt beef was chewy and overall lacked flavour. Also expensive all things considered.
Delicious food and great coffee. Ive grabbed takeaway and eaten in a few times and always been impressed. Thanks team ☺️
One of my favourite inner city daytime eateries. They have a warm, sunny, semi-enclosed deck that feels both very chilled and very urban. Fantastic menu and delicious food.
Weve been meaning to go to this place for quite a while but every time we go its always full . We arrived today and were lucky enough to find a table. We both had the toasted sandwich options , I had a toasted cheese sandwich and my partner had a pastrami toasted sandwich. Both were excellent . I really like that they give you free fizzy water, always a treat , and makes lunchtime feel a bit more posh ! The alfresco dining out back is a great touch. Well be back !
Used to be a great place about 5-7 years ago (anyone remembers delicious thick cut bacon?), but not that much anymore. Got scrambled eggs with bacon (ordered without looking at the menu). Eggs were great but toast was burnt. Ok, fair enough, but when I paid $23 for that at the counter it appeared a bit overpriced. Just checked the menu online - this should have been $20! Never again
Outstanding breakfast, coffee was great, all the food was delicious and really well done, great little spot in the city - highly recommend for a great brunch
Delicious coffees. The menu was yum too we ordered the cauliflower kimchi tacos and they were fresh and flavourful. The soba salad tofu noodles were okay, there was a nice sesame dressing but couldve done with a thicker sauce.
One of the last bastions of hospitality on High Street, this famous yet discreet cafe will leave you feeling Chuffed about locating it. Top notch kitchen, friendly staff, and of course, good coffee. Unpretentious but classy, for even a humble visitor.
Great food, great coffee, tad expensive for the portion size of the home made crumpets, also felt like it could have been a tad bigger as well. Overall great though
One of the best coffees in Auckland and an array of mouth watering treats on offer. What a spot and perfectFor a cbd office catch up. Private courtyard to get away from the noise of the big smoke too!
We went there a couple of weeks ago. I ordered iced latte and crumpets with chocolate mousse. I loved iced latte. The crumpet was not flavorful itself, but the chocolate sauce and bacon added some flavors and it went well with iced coffee. Such a nice place to have a brunch date with your loved ones.
cool place, good service, food takes awhile, nice iced mocha, great presentation and delicious taste.
Great hidden away gem in Auckland.Really interesting menu with great coffee to accompany.Plenty of seating around the back so don’t be mistaken when you see a more traditional coffee nook when you arrive. The crumpets are amazing!!! Absolutely worth the trip :)Great spot for a break when shopping the clothes stores in the area.
Great food, great coffee and great service in this lovely cafe tucked away on High Street not far from Freyberg Square. The main seating area is outdoors when it’s fine and indoors and sheltered from the rain when it’s wet. And it’s a nice quiet spot for when the conversation is as important as the food and drink being consumed.
As loyal customer , somehow today I become not happy about the customer service today. We got a free coffee so we are here to have our usual coffee n dessert. When we handed over the loyal card to redeem n hear the clip n charge. Suddenly the staff told us sorry charge wrong as there is no free coffee on our loyal card. I said u just clipped out the free one n how u say there is no free. But staff said he didn’t. Seriously, we know the food not cheap there so if I can afford the food there regularly why would would we scam the bloody one coffee? Staff reluctantly as he really want to charge the coffee back. Based on that seriously. 1 star. Completely unacceptable unprofessional customer service to treat loyal customers as thief. Shame on u.
It’s good, tasty food but still nothing too special. No smoking area. Family friendly. Service is slow. Food came first, and no cutlery.Good location.Service: 1/5Food Quality: 3/5Food Quantity: 4/5Presentation: 3/5Environment: 4/5Price per person: $20
This place has never disappointed me. Starting from the coffee to their cheese toastie..everything is fresh and tasty. Good value for money. The seating area is very cosy and nicely decorated. The toasted muffin with a dollop of butter is a must try. :)
Went here to try their Auckland restaurant month dinner menu. It was very delicious and the atmosphere is definitely cozy. Both the lamb and beef are very nicely cooked, while the cheesecake really stands out as a dessert.
I was here early on a Sunday morning - one of the only places around open before 10am on Sunday! Beautiful little shop, nice staff and decent coffee. Worth a stop in if you are in the area.
We were looking for a nice place for a quick coffee and ended up with a beautiful spot and some delicious food.Despite needing the space for a booking at 11:50, the staff were accommodating and allowed us to grab a quick bite to eat. There was a small wait, but that was expected considering they were busy. I order an iced americano that was smooth and didn’t taste bitter at all.A combination of the good atmosphere, lovely staff and yummy food, 5 stars is well deserved. If I wasn’t only visiting, I’d visit much more often.
We were visiting Auckland for three days and couldnt help but visit this place every day for breakfast! They are open already from 7 am.The coffe was great. We tried both macchiato and cappuccino. I preferred the cappuccino. It seems they serve their own roasted coffe. A mixed of Colombian and Guatemalan. From the menus we got the granola, avocado toast, mushroom toast, poached egg on rye. All delicious and high quality ingredients. Its a bit pricey but totally worth the quality and taste. The menu also hasms sandwiches and healthy lunch options which we didnt try.The staff was lovely and attentive and we felt welcomed. The place is cozy with not many seatings and the tables are quite close to each other so if this makes you uncomfortable the place is not for you. We sat in the backyard , fresh air but also with an awning for the rainy days.
I would say that one of the best cafe in Auckland is Chuffed. It is located in the middle of Auckland city and hiding in High street but once you find here it makes you come here often. Good vibe, great coffee, nice food and amazing staffs!
We had the chorizo omelet, the eggs benedict with cured salmon and the mushrooms on toast. Great food. Very tasty. I liked my chai latte. Service was excellent. You wait to be seated but we got a free table right away which was nice. Decor is super cute, the room has a lot of light as well and is nice and warm.
Ordered chai latte and omelet. Coffee was awesome and the omelet was super delicious, and you will definitely feel chuffed with the outside dining area which you can enjoy the sunshine and the hustle and bustle of this lovely cafe. The only thing that maybe disappoint you is the long waiting time for your food to be served because this gem is super popular and this time we waited for nearly one hour to get our food on the table.
Awesome hidden away little gem in the Auckland CBD that does some of the best coffee in Auckland with incredible food to go along with it. It has a great atmosphere with a hip, trendy vibe and modern fit out, seating is located out the back in a small courtyard that has a very Melbourne feel to it, very cool! Staff are also friendly and provide great service, would recommend to anyone traveling to Auckland and looking for a good coffee or great cafe breakfast or lunch.
Chuffed is a cafe snuggled in a nice spot on High Street. Whats great about this place is the quality of both food and service. Friendly staff and one of the few places in Auckland that get you water to the table. The sandwich menu is what I usually go after and have never been disappointed. The coffee is well presented. Recommended time is a bit earlier in the morning as this seems when the charm of Chuffed is the best.
One of the best breakfasts I’ve had while in NZ. Service was fast and friendly, menu was full of delicious items, I loved the eggs benny which was on American biscuits and mushrooms, instead of ham and toast, the coffee was amazing, smooth with some hint of bitterness. If you’re looking for an amazing breakfast, this is it!
The perfect way to start your morning! Fantastic coffee and seriously yummy and healthy-adjacent food. Everything we had is just fresh and delicious. Grab a seat outdoor on the cool patio if you can and enjoy the weather.
Good environment and good food at the convenient High Street in town. Place isnt huge so can be packed during busy hours. I particularly liked the slow cooked lamb shoulder. Service is decent. Will likely return for more brunches.
Awesome little cafe rugged away from the street through a short hallway. Small table inside in front of the kitchen and coffee counter. Most immediately make way to the back porch with more seating. Beautiful bright space with tasteful decor. The omelette I had was very creative and yummy. This will most definitely be one of my go to breakfast spots going forward. Also looking forward to trying their well reviewed lunch options!
Chuffed is one of the citys hidden gems! This used to be my local coffee haunt, because of their consistently excellent coffee..... It has never failed to disappoint despite countless visits over thr past few years (its some of the best coffee in the area). The service is friendly but not over bearing, and the cabinet food is definitely worth the slightly higher price tag. If you have the time I would recommend dining-in in order to enjoy their (surpriseoutdoor deck area. This is equally as comfortable in the winter as it is in the summer due to the thoughtful additions of blankets and a fire. However if you are just dropping by for your morning caffiene hit, their scones are an excellent accompliment.
So pleased I visited this spot. Superb coffee (hows the latte art skills), awesome vibe of the place. Staff amazing, super friendly and accommodating (family of 4 with babyand just a brilliant experience. A must visit!
