Chudnite Mostove / Wonder Bridges - Tourist attraction in Sliven, Bulgaria
Chudnite Mostove / Wonder Bridges in Sliven
Description
Privilege
Quite a long way off the main highway and down narrow potholed road but worth it at the end.
MoreWonderful place to visit!
A beautiful tourist attraction.Chudnite Mostove (The Wonderful Bridgesis a rock phenomenon, also known as the Skalnite Mostove (The Rock Bridgesis one of the 100 most interesting tourist "must-see" places when visiting Bulgaria.
MoreBeautiful and nice restaurant. 30 minute hard drive but ok for regular car too. Worth a visit if youre in the area.
MoreA wonderful place indeed. Looks like something from the time of the dinosaurs! The road to the place gets pretty narrow, but it’s all paved so not bad. Bring a picnic if you want to chill by the stream!
MoreIf you drive from Plovdiv or Sofia, it will be mostly on good roads. The last 15km is winding and bumpy, and the last 7km is very narrow. But if you drive slowly (30 to 40kmh), you will be fine. Slow down and enjoy the scenic views!I had no problems driving there in my small Hyundai rental car. (Which I hired for 9 days at 12 Euro a day, very very cheap)!I was there on a quiet weekday morning in summer. It may be busier and more difficult driving on weekends and in winter. When you get there, the bridges are best seen and experienced by descending into the gorge. The distance is only 200m, but it is steep and difficult. Allow 30 minutes at least. If you have mobility issues, you may need to just see the bridges from the road above.Add a visit to the monastery at Bachkovo and Asens Fortress, and it becomes an easy 6 hour trip from Plovdiv.Bridges are free. Monastery is free but you pay 2Lv for parking. Fortress is 1Lv for parking and 4Lv to enter in 2022.
MoreVery beautiful place. Has a small parking lot. Walk a round can take aprox. 1hour. Soup and meatbals available for lunch.
MoreBeautiful place. Nice cafe.
Very impressive arches. There is a snack bar and facilities. Worth the trip and on the road there there is a feeling of being in a huge wilderness forest.
MoreTook a random drive to this place... wow so beautiful
Amazing! Beautiful drive, easy hike, amazing views! Definitely worth a trip to the natural wonder.
MoreAmazing place! The road to get her isnt the easiest one but its beautiful. Easy to park and you can easily spend a few hours there. Lot of locals selling souvenirs and food.
MoreNo worries about the street to the wonderful bridges there are no holes in it anymore. A bit bumpy and narrow sometimes but no problem to drive with a car or van. Wonderful bridges are worth a visit!
MoreBeautiful natural "bridge" (archformed after an earthquake. Free parking and entrance.
MoreWonderful place to visit, like one day trip. Its accessible with a car. Beautiful and must to see.
MoreDont miss this place, Amazing!!!Two stone bridgesarchs, one is more accessible then the other.10 minutes walk from the parking lot (freeand you see nature at its best.Very impressive archs.Small restaurants of local food, people along the approach road selling souvenirs.
MoreWhat a wonderful place. If you wanna sit and enjoy the beautiful nature under this beautiful arcs I highly recommend this place.
MoreNice place situated in the wild forest. The road is repaired so no problem with it.
MoreAmazing nature formations. Looking at these formations it is taking your breath and gets you thinking how small we are and how superior the nature is. The only reason I am going 4 stars is because the place is too urbanized, restaurants, shopping places...
MoreDelicious food available, inside and outdoor seating available, small market with honey and water mineral cubes for sale, beautiful views.
MoreThe location is just marvelous. The trees, the scenery, the rock formations, almost every single thing concerning the Wonderous Bridges was beautiful. Except the road. If you decide to go, go in the summer for sure. The road is terrible and full of holes and small Grand Canyons.
MoreWe were in rm27 5th floor.A very nice apartment which was let down by a few things:The bathroom lighting was inadequate. The shower curtain was the wrong design which let the water out and made the floor very wet by the toilet. The bedroom had no curtains so the sunrise would wake you up.The springs could be felt on the mattress.
MoreAmazing Bulgarian natureMust visitRoad up is very bumpy and slow but it is worth it once you get thereHad a nice restaurant that we didnt check out tho
MoreEye popping collapsed cave - totally recommend hiking down to the bottom the structure is massive and the pictures dont do justice. There is a restaurant at the top which serves excellent food / refreshments too.
MoreNice place to spend a hourYour attention that the last 7 km of the roads to the entrance are mostly broken, thus your average speed is 20 kmh.Except of this, the site is really nice, easy walking, you can go down under the "bridges" or climb above them - both options will bring you excellent photos.
MoreReally nice place to visit. Very unique and peaceful. The road leading up to the bridge was not in good shape so be careful while driving.
MoreThe nature is impressive but getting there is a challenge. The road is very narrow and at a very poor condition. Would not recommend it during holidays as it is also very busy.
MorePleasant nature reserve, imposing caves and lots of trails throughout the forest that you can explore. They offer zip line as an attraction, the guy who does it is very knowledgeable, takes you through everything you need to know (e.g. how to clip yourself to the rope etcand is really good at calming down those who were scared. The road to get to the place is in decent condition, theres a few big pot holes that you have to watch out for but otherwise a very picturesque drive.
MoreAmazing natural phenomenon, a recommended visit. Also features a Zipline, good places to eat, and good prices on roadside goods like jams. However, the road to reach it is long, winding, and full of potholes, so it takes a long time. Try to visit at the beginning or at the end of the day to avoid the crowds.
MoreIts a must if you like easy hiking trips with breathtaking views. Also the zip line is a pretty good way to get over your fear of high places (60m high and 240 long).
MoreIncredible place to see nature at work, but a terrible journey to get there with a car. The road is very bad and I suggest you take very slow very early in the morning to avoid the traffic and crowds. Theres a nice place to sit down and relax and a zip line that goes right through the attraction.
MoreThe rocks are much bigger in reality. The place has extremely small parking lot so be prepared to wait the traffic, do expert maneuvers and leave the car in a very awkward position. The nearby restaurant serves excellent bean soup, fried trout fished from the nearby farm and patatnik (banitsa with potatoes)
MoreVery impressive. The last 10 KM road leading to the bridges is narrow and bumpy, but it is well worth it. The hike is short, about 1 KM all together but the sight is amazing
MoreMost of the way which leads to this site is narrow road rull of curves but it definitely deserves it!Wonderful natural arches with pastoral river flowing in between. There is a path going down inside the arches where you can find a peaceful place to sit and listen to the water. There is also a path going up in front of the arches which leads into a quiet forest where you can hear the river.
MoreWonderful place! In my opinion, one of the best nature’s site in Bulgaria. We spent here more than one hour and it was great. The only not pleasant thing here is the road leading to this place, which is really horrible. You should drive very carefully and beware of potholes. But in general, it worth to get here despite the bad road, because it is very beautiful here.
MoreWorth the visit!Beware of the road, its really bumpy - many potholes, so it will take patience to get there. As there was some snow (March 2019), it was probably more comfortable than "when dry", on some of the stretches. Still, beautiful canion up to the landmark and a charming destination.
MoreThis was supposed to be the highlight of our trip.... Except we never made it there thanks to the DEPLORABLE state of the road. 15Km before arriving the terrible potholes started, but nothing we couldnt overcome just driving slowly. However,, the last 7 Km were completely covered in snow, impossible to go through without a 4x4. We had snow tyres but the tracks were so deep that we kept getting stuck. Its dangerous and a complete waste of time!!! After 2 hours driving, we had to turn around 5km before reaching the caves. There was no snow in any other road (its mid March! But this one clearly hasnt been cleaned or maintained in decades. A real shame!!
MoreVery beautiful and pretty big. This is one of my favorite things to see in the Smolian area. If you are a fan of extreme sports, then try the trolley line across the two "bridges"
MoreHonestly, as a person Who has travelled most of Bulgarias popular and not-so-popular city and nature destinations, this spot still is probably one of the most beautiful places in Bulgaria. Visited it twice, in 2011 and 2018 I could always Come Back there.Warning!! Careful with the road leading to it!!
MoreFantastic place for people who like nature. The bridges are really wonderful and the river has a waterfall further down which is truly amazing. The road surface to get to the bridges is not perfect but definitely worth visiting.
MoreRecommended for all type of people by only in summertime. If you travell to Pamporovo you must visit this place. You the road is old and damaged but can go by car(all typeif you drive slowly. 6+..If you had more time you have to reserve night at the hut there..Good place and very nice atmosphere
MoreStunning naturally formed stone bridges and cave. Theyre massive formations, well deserved to be visited. Unfortunately, the access is tricky - the road is narrow and with quite a lot potholes, so you have to be very careful, if you drive to there.
MoreThe place is great and majestic. You can sense this in all seasons. The view is great from below and also from above. The road to the site is really narrow and you need to drive carefully.
MoreAbsolutely incredible place, a huge natural formation that makes you feel small and awed. Its a pain to get to, use an suv if possible, but the drive is totally worth it!!!
MoreAmazing formations, something one can barely imagine, how it even happened. Definitely worth the trip up the mountain. Also a beautiful view over the mountains. Would for sure go back again and do one of the hiking trails. Bulgarian nature just never disappoints!
MoreVery beautiful breath taking natural phenomenon, a great spot for a picnic or a sunny walk. Great views of the valley. Beware that the road to there is in very bad condition and be careful driving there.
MoreAbsolutely stunning! Its massive and beautiful. We spent a couple of hours here just hanging out under the rock bridge. Highly recommend if youre in the area!
MoreWonderful natural phenomenon. Can be seen and touched and experienced. The only 2 things that ruin the pleasant stay are the absolutely ridiculous bar/pub or whatever this is and the ambulant traders. God gives, Bulgarians spoil.
MoreA beautiful place with amazing natural bridges. There is a cool stream flowing there. The path to bridges can be taken by almost all ages, but the path to the stream is a bit more risky and slippery
MoreGood place. You should have 1-2 free hours to see them (40+ minutes walking for full trip 5 minutes for going to view please). And you should drive carefully last 15 kilometers on the road before them.
