Chor Bizarre, Bikaner House, Pandara Road, India Gate, New Delhi, Delhi 110011, India, New Delhi
Characterful Indian restaurant with traditional decor, including classy chairs & photographs.
Heard a lot about this restaurant as it serves kashmiri wazwan but after having it,I was disappointed..it was not close to what authentic kashmiri food tastes..I had tasted much better kashmiri food at Delhi Haant at much cheaper price.
Absolutely terrible. Extremely disappointed with the food despite great ambience. The service seemed nice until I asked them to pack a lamb curry. The first time they brought it, it was leaking. I said specifically can u pack it properly. They brought it back assuring me its packed properly, but the curry has leaked all over my bag. Absolutely dismal food and experience. Wont ever recommend.
Very 3rd rate service. Despite booking of table we were not attended timely. We ordered 4 Navratra Thalis and plate of Daal-Chawal for the kids. The food served was very cold and served after one hour. The taste was very lousy except the dates kheer.Daal Chawal which were ordered for small kids came after they fell asleep. Very bad food and equally bad service.
If you want authentic Indian cuisine with fancy old Indian ambience, then this is the place for you! Must try: Palak patta chaat and Dal makhni
Location is quite Central and ekegant. Decor and interior setting is unique with all antique furnitures each table different to each other and kit of artefacts of 40s and 50s. Food is authentic Kashmiri and Mughal
Lovely Ambiance and decor with retro background Music.
A must-visit place for a peaceful and satiating dinning experience, and the ambiance is the cherry on the cake! The whole place has a good vibe to it. Just make sure you book the table in advance. 😊
Such expensive food yet somehow i didnt find anything i ate above average. Ive heard a lot about this place but the food quality was genuinely sad and not worth the money.
I had the most pathetic experience. Their waiter (in particular only one, unfortunately don’t know his name, short with a little paunch would be best to describe himdoes not know how to behave and respect customers. Rude and unapologetic. I had heard a lot about this place and wanted to visit since long but everytime I called they were booked (honestly that is a hype toobecause when I called today to reserve a table, they said they are booked but honestly tables were empty.Incident: I was looking at the menu to see what to order (the menu was in my handsthe waiter came and snatched the menu from my hands because he wanted to keep the plate at the table and mind it my hands were off the table and when my friend told him what he did, he said he was keeping the plate, my friend said you can keep the plate without snatching the menu from the hands and instead of apologising, he kept staring at my friend. We got up from the table to leave and when the manager came, we explained what happened. The waiter was standing right there and staring and not even a single sorry came out of his mouth.I am sure the food there is delicious, but if this is how they treat their customers then I guess they won’t last long.Pathetic experience.
It was a good place with aesthetic and rustic vibe to the place. Due to the decor the dining experience was one of a kind. The staff is courteous and knows the menu well. The food quality is great and food quantity is decent. We went with our family and ordered dal tadka, paneer and paranthas and naans. The food was served well within the stipulated time and was prepared nicely with good tempering and flavor. All in all we had a good dining experienceCheers ;)
Tourist trap- avoid! We are former Delhiites returning home after the pandemic. We decided to check this place out after the good reviews. We ordered Kashmiri food ( restaurant claims it to be their specialty). Regrettably we found their standard of preparation - an insult to Kashmiri cuisine - the food was mediocre. Spices were not balanced- gravies were similiar. The portions were tiny and overpriced- which we would have overlooked if the quality was top notch. If you want to experience shabby chic restaurant with an olde world charm - Kwality restaurant in CP is a better bet. One star for the manager who was very courteous. The waiter serving us initially was disinterested.
We were group of 4 people and had dinner here. We had non veg and veg Kashmiri tarami, the non veg tarami was decent. However, veg tarami was average and can be made better - Khatte baigan, paneer and nadru yakni not exactly how it should be.The veg tarami was not worth the price. The restaurant ambience is good. The collection of old artefacts and pictures quite nice. The staff is courteous.
Loved the place and food was amazing. If you want yo real Authentic kashmiri food then this is the place, beautiful interiors. Table reservation is advisable.
Finest restaurant for kashmiri wazwan . Must visit
Fantastic ambience, awesome food. Butter Chicken is top class. Perfect place for dinner with friends and family.
I recently lunched at this restaurant and wondered how it has "repeatedly been awarded for its Kashmiri cuisine". The Roganjosh we ordered had no josh. the spices did not blend. Some dish with aloo bukhara and mutton was sold as a spicy dish but that too had no kick. The saving grace was the paneer (chamanthat was tasty. The kebab platter (not kashmiri I assumewas rather bland. For regular consumers of kashmiri food, this restaurant has nothing special to offer. The word "authentic" is really misleading. Anything meaty is not Kashmiri.
Good।Fish tikka methi was hard and bad।Amritsari Fish fry was slightly better।Tabak Mazz was good।Beer Beera was on menu, but not available।They should remove items not available on the menu।Ambience takes the pride of place। The rest follows।They need to fine tune।
Good place to have quiet lunch. The staff is really good. They suggest in best way.We ordered non-veg options which were tasty. Good music too as it didnt affected my infant during our lunch.
Its a wonderful restaurant, great ambiance, tasty and hygienic food, good and friendly service...great place for non veg lovers..Great Kashmiri food... The Tarami was just wonderful...to end up with a kashmiri Kawa..Serves good liquor ( single malts to indian blendsbeer wine cocktails and mocktails.. with finger licking snacks...Overall a wonderful place to spend weekends
The kashmiri wazwaan thaal always makes it to the top. Extremely beautiful ambiance of the restaurant, adds to the beauty and nostalgia. A must-go place for kashmiri food. Every single variety is cooked to perfection with love...
Quite too much overpriced. Taste is good. But not anything like to go head over heels crazy. They dont even serve extra gravy even if you ask them. Can you imagine paying Rs.450 just for a bowl of plain steamed rice?
Chor Bizarre has average food . But its ambience is astounding and soothing. If one likes the aesthetic appeal that is amalgamation of Indo- British infrastructure . I would recommend Chor bizarre to you. You can try wonderful dishes here
I recently went for a fine dining at Chor Bizzare and it has been a mesmerizing experience. The interiors will take you back to the history and overall provide a calm and peaceful environment. The food was great- non spicy and non oily and the staff made sure to cater all our needs. The team/staff was super friendly and even suggested some items according to our taste buds.I would highly recommend this place for a fine dining!
Wonderful place to dine in a serene atmosphere. Both Veg. and non-veg food is excellent. My only advice is they should add more veg items in main course (other than paneer items). Chicken Rogan Josh is a unique item here. Worth a repeat visit.
Bikaner House is a beautiful place and the decor of this place too is antique/royal vintage. They have a limited menu but all the north indian dishes you would look for are there, the Kashmiri menu is the unique element. Food quality and taste was great. The issue was that the staff kept misleading about the waiting time and service was also slow thereafter.
I have tried Kashmiri cuisine at a couple of places but this was by far my favorite. We ordered non-vegetarian Tarami (a Kashmiri thali). It had an array of yummy dishes including phirni and kahwa. Everything on the plate was bursting with flavors. The chef came to ask about the food and also explained about the preparation of a dish made with khubani (apricotwhich we found quite interesting. He also explained about two goshtaba gravies both of which were again excellent. Overall it was an amazing experience.
Amazing experience with my best people... Love the ambience , color , service & their hospitality. You should go and get this experience with team chor bizarre . Also you can visit bikaner house Lopera and India gate nearby
Wanted to go there for a long time. Finally went on a quiet Thursday evening (reservation made in advancewith 4 friends. Was easily locatable with ample parking space. The staff was very accommodating and our table was ready in advance. The ambience is really quirky with vibes of vintage and colonial decorations. Old Bollywood music kept us entertained throughout. After staffs recommendations ordered veg and non veg platter with a few drinks. Then went for Biryani, mutton roganjosh, and kadhai chicken with different breads. The quantity and quality were good and we could barely finish the food. It is expensive if youre looking for a budget outing but totally worth the price. Cheers.
Love the ambience and the location, the place is usually quite. Situated in Bikaner House, the decor looks amazing. The staff is also polite and considerate. Parking is never a problem and the location is quite central.I just had chats and they were good.
A hidden gem in Bikaner House, Pandara road. Lovely ambience, amazing food and the hospitality made me feel so special! Must try the Kashmiri cuisine. Kashmiri Tarami (thaliwas out of the world :)
The food was actually pretty good. The combination of aesthetics and the ambience along with food food really made the experience worth it ! Try the mirchi garlic naan !
Authentic kashmiri cuisine. Tried tarami veg and non veg. Every thing is a must try.
Very good food, ambience and service. They have kept service charges discretionary, however you will pay them happily..
Right from the time that you enter bikaner house, to the point of eating your meal and coming out, this experience is nothing less than a royal experience. Nice decor with ethnic touch. High hospitable stuff. Publicised as gourmet food of Kashmir.Service was very good. Food preparation was mediocre. Had few items. For those who had Gustava and Rishta of Ahdoo at Srinagar, Kashmir, would be terribly disappointed. For others who love to explore, may give a try
Beautiful restaurant with top class service and outstanding Kashmiri mutton dishes.Restaurant is in Bikaner House, close to India Gate with ample car park too.Wonderful decor. Great ambiance. Open from 11am to 11pm. Ideal for brunch, late lunch, early dinner too.
Restaurant is located inside Bikaner House, Near India Gate- Indian restaurant with theme of old and new delhi- Décor created with distinguished imperial touches- Serves Indian cuisine with regional dishes- Tabak Maaz, a Kashmiri dish is a must try !!!!!- Apart from this, varieties of vegetarian dishes and chat are also available
The tastefully done, ethnic Indian interiors of Chor Bizarre are made to appear mysterious, historic and straight of an exotic Indian mansion, set in a fairytale. In my mind, this makes it an ideal place to bring foreign tourists, looking for a unique “Indian” dining experience in an ambiance that can’t be had back home. The food however, left much to be desired. This is not to say that the food, the Mutton Roghan Josh and the Lotus Stem Yakhni were bad. They were however, nothing to write home about. If the food were as impressive as the decor, I dare say, that this would be one of the most wholesome Indian dining experiences out there. Given that the food doesn’t match the ambiance of the place, one leaves the place feeling like it is more of a gimmick. I don’t however mean that one feels cheated after dining at Chor Bizarre. Far from that. The staff is welcoming and friendly, and the service is fine. The overall dining experience is satisfying, given the antiques one is sitting amidst. However, if you are craving excellent food, then you will be better off dealing with those cravings somewhere else. Chor Bizarre still does remain a great place to bring your foreign friends for a final dinner before they catch their flight back home.
What a beautiful experience this place!!! Loved it! One of the best Kashmiri foods that Ive had and certainly the best tabak manzh!!The ambiance and feel are just perfect! A great place for the classy little traditional outing.
This place is definitely a must visit place. The food is so much good at this place and prices are reasonable. The staff is very well trained. I like their mutton roganjosh and dal makhni. This place is known for its very good mughlai food. The food presentation is very good. You can try their food platters also.
Ambience of this place is very Indian and elite and the staff is extremely polite. Coming to food, fine dining has disappointed me a lot of times but, chor bizzare has thoroughly impressed me.1. Lets start with the best, Gushtaba, such simple flavors yet so beautifully working together to get that amazing taste and the lamb meatballs were Soo soft and juicy, it is amazing ( have it with rice and add some mooli akhrot ki chutney)2. Anyone who thinks theyve had Rohan Josh in Delhi, must have it here to prove themselves wrong. Gravy has a beautiful course texture and flavor and the meat itself is cooked to perfection3. If youre a meat fat person, do order tabak maaz, these are deep fried lamb ribs
Oh! I just loved this. The food, the ambience, the decor everything is on point. First time experienced Kashmiri cuisine and it was to die for.
This place is more of an experience rather than a restaurant.Firstly, this is a typical restaurant for family settings. Coming over to ambiance, this place has a nostalgic feeling to it. Old rusty settings, old school windows, they even changed old beds into chair and table.Coming to food. Honestly, its average to above average. We had Veg and Non Veg Tarami (Thalito get an idea of maximum items. Few was kinda OK, few of them was really good. Overall a satisfactory meal. But nothing to brag about.Service was absolutely top notch. The servers had knowledge of each and every dish on the menu. While serving the Tarami they explained us every dish even the refills were quick.Location is very easy. You enter the Pandara Road and upon the entry on the right side you see Bikaner House. In there youll find the restaurant.Prices are on a higher side. Ref. Tarami1300+Taxes. Non veg1100+Taxes VegMust try place.
So today i went to "chor bizarre" this is in bikaner house and this is a famous indian restaurant. This place is heaven for kashmiri food. They serves authentic kashmiri food. This place is literally, love bcoz of there food they serve and the ambiance which is totally vintage and rustic and they maintained the same still now. Nothing has changed, nor the decor nor the menu. They focus on intricate work and try to maintain the same aura of chor bazar. Every corner of this place specialized something, you cant miss anything. In short you can say this place is old world charm. Best place to spent some quality time with family. Now comes to food -In drink -• Imly mirchi mary - This drink is very spicy and very strong flavours. Though i didnt like it much.• Masala mint mojito - This is fresh and refreshing. In starters -• Palak patta chaat - They serves one of the best palak patta chaat. Must try.• Tawa aalu chaat - These were baby potatoes served in the chaat form, nice it is.• Veg starter - Kurkuri makkai, Tandoori puneapple, Palak kebab, Mushroom pepper fry. A perfect veg combo for vegetarians to start the meal.• Non veg starter - Hari mirch macchi tikka, kashmiri kanti kebab, Bhatti ka murgh. My personal fav was kashmiri kanti kebab i love eating this.In mains -• Non veg tarami - which includes Seekh kebab, Tabak maaz, Ghostaba, Chicken rogan josh, Aalu bukhara korma, Nadru yakhni, Haaq, Nadru choorma. Visiting chor bizarre and not having this is sin. This is 36 course meal and a mini wazwan. Must try if you really wants to try authentic kashmiri food.In dessert -• Phirni - very lite and mild taste.• Mango and pista kulfi - Pista kulfi was very yum and mango kulfi has strong flavours of it.And as a kashmiri tradition meal always end up with the traditional drink called "khawa" Which is basically to digest the meal, so i also did the same.Overall this place is beautiful in terms of food, ambiance. A complete family place it is. Staffs were so humble and on there toes to serves us the best.Highly recommended.
Service and ambience is good but if you are a true foody you will be little disappointed. I went to try tarami the authentic Kashmiri cuisine. Although dishes served were authentic but will not give more marks on taste. Chicken Rogan Josh was not upto the mark.Kahwa and gustaba are winners though.
Chor bizarre Bikaner house"One cannot Think well, Love well, Sleep well if one has not Dined well."Just like any other city has a chor bazaar, we went out to have complete eat out experience at much ironical food heaven @Chor Bizarre which serves authentic regional Indian cuisine in an eclectic decor with old charm music paired with hearty hospitality.Special emphasis have been put towards the decor where "nothing matches" yet "everything gels". From fabrics to the antique tables, local ornaments/accessories, picture frames & the installation of timeless beauties. It takes you on a journey, back in the period where you see objects and works of art as you go through the space.Talking about food, each regional dish stays true to their origin even after going through innovation by chefs.Where do I start from since I had quite many dishes :p Ok, as below.Everything was fantastically-amazingly-superbly-legendary! Everything became our favourites.Dahi Batata PuriCrisp flour spheres (gol gappefilled with potato, yoghurt, mint, tamarind, pomegranate seeds- topped with sev. Burst of flavours in your mouth.ShikanjiSuch a refreshing and cool drink with a wow factor to cleanse your palette.Palak Patta ChaatCrispy spinach leaves topped with some yoghurt, spices, pomegranate and sev.Kashmiri Kanti KebabLamb tossed in onions, tomatoes and Kashmiri spices.Kurkuri MakkaiCrispy sweet corns fingers.Tandoori Malai GobhiChar grilled baby cauliflower with cheese and topped with some garam masala. Vegetarians- Must Try!!Hari Mirchi Macchi TikkaFish tikka in green color which is predominantly there by the use of green chillies and spinach paste. No artificial colours used.Main Course:Yes! Even after trying these many starters we ordered mains! This is what a Foodie does, especially if the food is this good.Non-Veg TaramiSeekh kebab, Tabak Maaz, Gashtaba, Chicken Roganjosh, Aloo Bukhara Korma, Yakhni, Haaq on a bed of rice. This is followed by traditional Kahwa tea.Egg Curry:Cheese stuffed eggs in onion tomato gravy! Absolute Kickass dish.Had all this with Mirchi garlic naan, ulta tawa paranthas and Keema Kulcha -> my tastebuds danced to the tune of Lajawaab !!!Who said we are done? Bring some deserts, plz.Tandoori Pineapple:Big chunks of juicy pineapple with tandoor flavour accompanied with cinnamon vanilla ice-cream.Kashmiri Phirni:Perfectly blend semolina in milk and saffron. Soft and light.Special mention to Chef Karan who is an amazing human being, so humble and carries magic in his hands. I take a "bow" !It takes a lot for us to say this, but we havent had better Kashmiri cuisine in Delhi anywhere than here @Chor Bizarre. We highly recommend this place to all our follower community. This place will not let you down in any way.Plan your next outing/ chill-out session with friends or bae/ work-meetings, etc without much a-do.Until next time . . .Best Regards,Team Delhidelites Xx
Recently visited this gem of a place located inside Bikaner house. Their royal ambience and wonderful service was the highlight. In starters, we opted for their Palak Patta chaat which was average. The vegetarian sampler was an assortment of various kebabs which was really good.In the main course, we opted for Mattar Mushroom and Dal Chor Bzar and paired it with mirchi garlic naan and laccha parantha which was not a bad choice at all. We especially loved the Dal.Then it time for their signature dish, Tarami. It was basically an assortment of Kasmiri delicacies like Laal Paneer, Dum Aloo, Khatte Baingan, Nadru Yakhni, Haaq, Rajmah, Nadru Choorma which was served with Rice, Mooli Adrak Chutney, Tamatar mirch and Laal pyaaz. We absolutely loved it!In beverages, we opted for the strawberry flavored frozen fruit mockery which was served in a martini glass. We also tried their bestseller, Masala Mint Mojito, the Adraki punch and Shikanjvi, each of which was equally good.Had a couple of desserts. The Kasmiri phirni was absolutely melt in the mouth stuff. The kulfi was presented very well and the taste was also very good.We rounded up our meal with the traditional Kahwa tea which was served warm in a kettle.Overall, really good food.
A very different dining experience. The place takes you back to the older era. Food is good and so is the service. A meal for two would cost you around Rs. 2000. You must try Tarami if you are fond of kashmiri cuisine
I really like the decor which is old style. Than ambience is good and area is properly lit. Old stereo /radio was there on the shelves. The food was yummy and well cooked. The kashmiri wazwan was really good complimented with firni and Kawa in the end. Do book ur seat before going there. There is ample space for parking so dont worry about that. For fine dining its a good place to be!
I loved the place and ambience. It was calm and peaceful. Its an amazing place to visit with family for lunch or dinner. I will prefer to go on a dinner. You can have walk outside the restaurant in the open space. The interiors in the restaurant give a feeling of old times where we used to put things in big jars. It is also very famous for its kashmiri dishes.
