Great service and food!2 blonde ladies behind the counter were extremely professional, helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and store clean. Will deffo return.

I came to store yesterday in Reading and the customer service was great. Hannah and Nicola stood out to me as they were attentive to my every need. All the staff where polite and the store was so clean I could see my reflection on the hot plate glass.I had the caramel chicken with egg fried rice and spring rolls, I compliment the chef as the chicken was juicy and flavorful, the spring rolls so flaky crispy then the egg fried rice to underlay the sweet caramel heaven topped with desicated coconut🤤10/10 would recommend and will be going there regularly from now on.

I was ill from an upset stomach and sickness the day after eating sweet and sour chicken and rice from here.

The food was not nice at all . The rice was a cheap long grain rice , not the usual jasmine rice you get at other Chinese takeaway and restaurants.the sweet and sour chicken was really tangy . Food was way overpriced and rather disappointing. I wouldn’t go there again .

EDIT:: my colleagues &myself visit 1 or 2 times a week they have new staff who are very friendly and great customer service, and seems the quality&taste & freshness of food is much much better, so iv felt I had to adjust my review accordingly.Keep up the good work guys. Thank you&see you soon

Didn’t give us what we paid for, got 3 small boxes and were all half full. So stingy, also took forever to serve us and had really bad customer service. Need to definitely get better staff. Food is good expect they don’t give you a full or even half full box, ate it within 2 minutes of purchasing. What a joke

Food is ok, but service is somewhat unprofessional. The man behind the counter is very rude and unprofessional. He also seems to be very rude to the workers who work there and I have seen this on several occasions I have been there.

Awful. I wouldnt even give it one star! Service was so slow and my friend and I both had the noodles with vegetables and for 2 days after we were ill. NEVER EVER AGAIN

My favourite place for lunch 1 or 2 a week. Food is fresh, good and prices are reasonable.

Edit: I am now lowering my rating to 1 star and would even make it half a star if i could. I have just place another order for the same food and this time I have received noodles instead of rice. So now Im down chicken from the last order and rice from this one. Im not sure if its your link with ubereats or just plain human error but something is stuffed up!Original post: I ordered salt and pepper chicken with rice from Chopstix Noodle bar Reading via Uber Eats last night. I received my order and opened it up to find I have only received the rice. Upon logging the issue with Uber Eats I have been refunded £2.25 of my £7.50. Are you telling me rice costs £5 and chicken costs £2? And Im not even factoring in the delivery charge. Normally very happy with the food from Chopstix but really not impressed with this

Very disappointing…We were very excited to try Chopstix for the first time, but in the end noodles tasted like grocery stores ones, toppings were unfortunately not quite tasty and the staff was very unpleasant and not willing to help when asking for advices.You better go to Taco bell by crossing the street instead

Service is BAD! They see you coming in and wait a solid 2 minutes before acknowledging you.They talk to you like they cant be bothered! The prawn chilli were NOT FRESH dry and sweet. NOT GOOD. The golden garlic and pepper chicken wasnt fresh AT ALL! It tasted like salted plastic. NEVER AGAIN! And if you hesitate, dont even think about going. Youre wasting your money!!!!!

average tasteless asian food, not very good value for menu if feeding a larger crowd. your better off going to won choi oxford road or closer to town is my wok, much better quality and cost.i spent £25 and portions was 2 large snd 1mediumbox very small quantity

My go to place for a quick lunch. Options may be limited (especially for a vegetarian like myself but they are very tasty. I almost always have the pumpkin katsu and salt and pepper potatoes. Five star based on the food alone of my expectations from a place like this. Have had no issues with the staff as well. Im sure theyre a lovely bunch of people.

This is amazing fast food, staff were happy and friendly explaining what and how to order. The flavours were delicious, calorie count was a bit high but as a treat it was lovely.

This place is clean and tidy. Staff are friendly but busy. Food is good and well priced. I will be back for sure.

Just ordered from here and was so disappointed all I can taste is frozen. The noodles are terrible taste like rubber and no veg in them at all except a single pea. I used to love this place!! Must be under new management because its nothing like it was.

Most of the time the guys who are cooking dont cook the food as it should !!! Waste of money !!! Not to mention if im ordering trough uber eats , most of the time the food is uncooked or they send you noodles instead of rice :lol , if you dont have what i ordered cancel the order dont send me smthng i did not ordered !!!!

Went in today after work, was going to order for me and my girlfriend, we both wanted the noodles, the guy behind the counter said it would take 20 minutes for him to cook noodles, I thought they only took 10 odd minutes to do, once I said "sorry I cant wait 20 minutes for some noodles" he turned round and replied t"hat it what it is, if you dont like it, go somewhere else." And after that I literally left so angry. Cant be rude to a customer just because they say they cant wait that long for some noodles. Very bad customer service after not being able to go for so long.

Ordered sweet and sour chicken through a takeaway app. It was probably my worst decision of the year.If I were to describe the dish. It was horrifying.Tasteless frozen chicken balls atop overcooked noodles. I genuinely had to fry the dish and season it myself. Unfortunately the quality of the ingredients was so poor that I couldnt stomach eating it and threw it away. I honestly wouldnt in good conscience be able to donate it to someone who was starving to death. Theyd be better off catching a rat, frying it up with some salt and pepper and then at least theyd be able to say theyve eaten something that resembles meat and has flavour.Waste of money and spoiled the evening. Places like this should not be open for business and will hopefully close as their food is an atrocity that should not see the light of day.I hope this review at least prevents one person from making the same mistake I made.

Just pure street food 🍲 cooked to perfection first time round... With a little more care and attention turning the noodles over or just adding a little more water 💦 would of made the difference of a five star 🌟 revue.... My daughter who resisted going in here... spoilt brat syndrome... Was glad she did as her meal was banging.... To this old git meant that Id convinced her that Id made the right choice..... Its mainly one way traffic with her. ♥

Didnt like this place. Overpriced with what I got and food was so tastless not worth it at all. Was charged extra because I ordered the katsu curry but there was no sign telling me theres extra charge. Please dont waste you money on this place when there is kokoro that has delicious quality food. Wouldnt come here again.

Save your money it has absolutely no taste. I bought the family deal and we each bought different chicken flavours so we could share all were disappointing. Should have stuck with kokoro

Ive been here before and the food was so nice i enjoyed it but now I went today totally have a different view on things.They only realised when I asked for noodle stir-fry they needed to make more, I came back and it just wasnt the same it had no flavour as I thought it would have had as I had that before and there was hardly any vegetables in between my noodles. Secondly I ordered also spring rolls that was dry and lacking vegetables as well mostly pastry than vegetables in the spring rolls, I was disappointed that I spent money on this for two meals and it never delivered.. the service was nice and friendly but the food on the other hand..

Disappointed 😔 yesterday I visit the shop just after 7pm. The website says it’s open till 7.30 pm and the staff in present said sorry we just closed. I came to this shop because another Chopstix noodle bar nearby website stated open till 9pm but their website was updated in time and instead of 9 pm they closed 7pm. So please update website about opening times in appropriate time I had 4 hungry and screaming children to fed.

Never fancied noodle shops before, but, as it happens, I am once again proved to be wrong. Abase of rice, well cooked, and a choice of toppings. The teriyaki or the sweet and sour are just two of my favourites, but I am repeatedly spoiled for choice. Good food at a reasonable price. The staff are friendly and helpful so its worth giving them a try.

Quick and decent pricing if it had any taste. Noodles weren’t cooked properly and tastes like cardboard. Prawns were basically batter n the chicken was flavorless. Soon after eating I felt sick. Definitely won’t be returning

Been going here for a while when Im in town .Found that todays experience wasnt as good .Front door wasnt working u had to slide it open .Should of had a notice on the door really .Then the noodles were quiet dry and tasteless.People behind the counter were not very smiley or welcoming .

Good value for money, better quality than most Chinese takeaways. Its good that you can see the food in front of you before choosing from the counter what to have. Theres not much shelter from the cold air outside unless you sit right at the back.

Always Fast, definitely NOT tastyI would say you get what you pay for, but not in this instance. I paid £8 for what amounted to a little more than the size of 6 chicken wings worth of chicken. I’d say two thirds of the box was full of rice. The proof of the food is that the rice was not cooked sticky enough to be eaten with chopsticks...that’s how you test the quality. The chicken was moist and well cooked but tasted of nothing. I tasted no difference between salt and pepper chicken vs BBQ. The place is clean and it wasn’t busy thus the 1 star but for the price many better places to visit. Should have gone to KFC

Small box of noodles with expensive price. The noodles wasn’t cooked and the chicken was not fresh. Staff customer service was poor and they didn’t like to answer question.

Really quick service and decent selection although mostly in the fried category. Not that cheap considering how much you get in a box.

very rude workers. you feel like you came to their house and you want something from them !!! The manager thought that the worker put a lot of topping in my noodles. And he was not shy and pointed his finger at me. After that, looked at me all the time while I was eating. This is the last time I was in this place !! And when I was eating, I saw that this manager was rummaging through the trash without gloves, and then he went to prepare the nyudls without even washing his hands !!! And all this without gloves !!!this man in the photo!!!Rude!Rude!Rude!

I quite enjoyed it. The portions look small but I promise you they are not! I had a medium noodles with two sauces and I was stuffed afterwards. The place was clean and tidy and the staff were fine. No complaints. Ill be back again for sure.

Went there today for the first time and I liked it a lot,(I would be lying if I said that i loved it). Overall it is a really good place and the food is awesome, only downside is that there isnt a big variety,only 4-6 types of chicken and only 1beef option.

The pricing was a little unclear and I think its quite expensive for what it is. Its £5 for a small of rice/ Noddles with one topping and £6 for a bit more with 2 toppings. Then it was not explained well that certain toppings are more expensive but there are similar that are free just further along in a separate section. The staff didnt give clear information and Ive also seen poor hygiene with coughing into gloves and continuing to work around the food. The chicken I had was good but cost me more and the noodles had good flavour but were very greasy. I went with some colleagues but I shall not be returning here.

I wasnt impressed by the service. I bought a box to eat in the bar and I slipped on food that was on the floor.I hurt my knee as a result but the staff didnt come to help me at all. I got up slowly and went to the table pretty shocked. The staff didnt even come over to ask if I was okay.I felt really upset and got hurt no fault of mine.This is really not acceptable behaviour by the staff. I am still shocked at the treatment and my knee really hurts due to the fall.I am never going there and wouldnt recommend it.

Great venue held in modern, fresh style for Chinese quisine enthusiasts that offers diverse range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. You can get anything from rice to noodles, chicken or veggies, many combinations available. Very lively, warm atmosphere inside. Definitely a good alternative to known venues around Broad Street and around the centre.

First time I went here I was disappointed, had salt and pepper chicken with rice not spicy. However been back since and have to say the food has been amazing! Staff are great and the atmosphere is nice. Only annoying thing is when the door is wide open and a freezing cold breeze is coming through.

Prime location, clean and modern atomspher, great prices, nice employees, accept contactless payment, and I dont recommend this fast food restaurant.I had rice with BBQ chicken and carmel chicken, and i was questing myself should i throw the food in rubish and forget about £6?The sloution to this restaurant lies in the kitchen. It is a new restrant in Reading and managment needs to take their reputation and resposiblitys seriously, there are many free valuable feedback from other peopl; use it.

I dont know what I had but it didnt taste like chicken. The caramel "chicken" I ordered was spongy, extremely sweet and tasted like cotton candy. The rice I thought was ok so at least I ate that.

Suprised and excited to see Halal Noodle Bar in Broad Street. So decide to check it out, the decor was fresh and clean. As it was first time didnt know how the process of ordering the food was. When asked for the large size i was informed they didnt have any. Then trying to understand the European staff was interesting to say the least. Started with the medium box noodles and was asked to choose topping on it. After chancing one sweet and sour from the first section after the noodles i was asked for another, i choose another topping from the same section. Then the girl informs me this was the least one. I said ok when i moved to the next section to choose she said that was it.. ooh why? Your allowed two toppings and said i didnt know to which she replies she told me. Really, when i said? she lets me know when i was choosing from the first section. I was bit confused then realised she wasnt informing be less one, she was saying it was last one lol.Anyway i thought i should let management know of this poor communication and spoke to Peter the manager. He was very apologetic however when it came to proving customer satisfaction it lacked lustre. Needless to say in future i will be careful when ordering as the staff are absolutely clueless and what they are selling especially when it comes to Allergy and Nutrition and communication. But please try yourselves you might be lucky

Me and the wife had a large noodle and medium noodle box in the restaurant.Noodles were weak.I had sweet and sour chicken, Korean BBQ chicken, and caramel chicken.The sauce flavour was there but thats all there was. All very sticky and chicken had no flavour or taste. Felt like I was chewing rubbery artificial balls.Wife had salt and pepper chicken and red Thai curry chicken, she was just as dissatisfied.Eastern European staff was nice and decor was decent.Good central location but wont be coming back. Dont normally write reviews but really didnt enjoy this so felt obliged to tell others that this wasnt a good example of a noodle bar.

Waste of time. I had the sweet and sour chicken with rice, my friend had salt and pepper chicken with noodles. The chicken (if you can call it thatwas made mostly of skin. The rice tasted of plastic so I ate none of it. They had no large boxes in stock. The drinks in the chiller were warm - not cold at all. It was £7.95 for my meal and certainly not worth it. Ive made better Chinese meals myself (even using pre-prepared sauceand the ready meals Ive had before taste better. There was nothing wrong with the staff, who were helpful, the service was fast as the food is already cooked and served hot, and the cleanliness was perfect. Its just the food was awful so wont be coming back.
