Relaxed, art-savvy outpost serving comfort cuisine alongside craft cocktails & an outdoor patio.
My husband and I booked a private dining room with tasting menu on a Saturday afternoon, after our wedding ceremony. It was only small - us and our parents - and we wanted to keep it simple and easy. We had heard great things about the Quality Chop House and they exceeded all expectations. The room was large and comfortable for the 6 of us. The food and drinks (wine/ cocktailswere amazing, and the service was brilliant. We were looked after by Ashley - his knowledge, guidance and attention to detail was superb. We couldnt have asked for a better meal to celebrate getting married. Thank you to Ashley and the whole team. We will definitely return and highly recommend.
Beautiful space to have a meal. Staff and service were excellent. Menu is varied in price and offering. We ended up having a selection of starters which are quite substantial and perfect for sharing! We didnt manage to try the chops so will be back! The chips are ridiculously good as were the croquettes! Cocktails awesome and house white is great altho they have an extensive range of wines to peruse!
An old, authentic place particularly good for Sunday Roast. I ordered the roast beef, and my friends ordered the roast mangalitza pork. Both were perfect, as were all of the sides. Highly recommended!
Overall, an ok to experience - poor service. Went for Sunday roast and nothing was horribly bad, cramped two tops near the toilets, plate was cold (if youre going to pour the gravy on the dish rather than serving it in a dish, youd hope that at least would be hotbut the food was alright - runner beans coated in buttermilk a little unusual and unappetizing, and the avoid the ice cream with poppy seeds unless you literally want a scoop of vanilla drizzled with fig something and covered in poppy seeds (mostly crunchy and unsatisfying).
The building is interesting as it is a listed building. Unfortunately the tables and bench seating is not remotely comfortable as the tables are narrow as are the bench seats. Some of the food was fabulous eg the fois gras and chicken liver pate, the vegetables which were cooked to perfection and the potato dish which had been cooked in goose fat. All five of us ate different dishes. I had brill for a main course but the sauce was thick and creamy which meant I could not taste the fish. The others had various lamb, beef and pork dishes. Apparently the meat was good quality but all the meats had exactly the same sauce. We didnt have any alcohol so cannot comment on the quality. The waiter was very pleasant and knowledgeable. An expensive restaurant which is worth one visit if you are a fan of various large chop type dishes.
I have visited The Quality Chophouse several times over the past year and highly recommend this unique restaurant for fantastic service, exceptional dishes and wine list. The space has a historical character and is full of old London charm - not to be missed.
When you walk in here, time seems to stop. The furniture, the decor and photographs hung on the wall tell a story of an authentic British restaurant thats been in Farringdon for over 150 years. The food is tasty and traditional yet never boring. Must-try dishes are the corned beef hash and the confit potatoes. Of course, the quality of the meat cuts was also out of this world. Great wine selection too.
If youre looking for the best hot sandwiches around hit Quality Chop House! A different sandwich everytime we go! You wont regret it!Pictured: Smoked Beef Short Rib, BBQ Sauce, Crispy Onions, Pickles and Black Pepper Mayonnaise ✨
Weve gone to their Sunday Roast lunch. Overall the place is not too big and the entire vibe is very casual. The main course and the desserts were brilliant but the first course is basically a glorified salad. I think I would recommend you take the 2 course meal for 35£ and take the main course and dessert. The staff were great and were super nice when we asked for explanations about the dishes. Overall a bit pricey but a great Sunday Roast option.
A brilliant meal. Cracking service! Especially Rahul! 🎉🍷💕👏🏻
Superb meal. Innovative starters/snacks And without a doubt the best Barnsley chop I have ever had. Good cocktails, interesting wine list, first rate staff. One very, very minor gripe: the white wine was a couple of degrees too warm for my liking.
This was good. Service was exceptional and recommendations were measured/ well put forward. The food was great. The ambience was intimate and quaint. 10/10 would recommend.
This was my first visit to the Quality Chop House and I already cant wait to go back! The food was fantastic and the exceptional service made our evening feel very special. We went with the Mangalitza loin chop and Hereford bone in ribeye, which was more than enough food when split between three adults (plus a few snacks and starters). The interior design feels like its straight out of the 19th century in the best way possible. You do really feel like youre experiencing a bit of history when eating here. Its definitely on the expensive side but absolutely worth it.
Had an absolutely fantastic time at Quality Chop House for our large group of 14 in a private dining room for a graduation celebration. The Quality team was phenomenal and the food was fantastic. Every single person loved the dining room, it was the perfect space for us. We felt very special there, cannot recommend enough!!
One word: wow. Best meal I had in London. Whole experience was sublime, every dish was rich in flavors. The meat is beyond exceptional. The confit potatoes, incredible. Have never had anything like it before and I’m still craving them. Strawberry trifle was perfection. And the Sazerac was stunning! If you’re in London for travel, this is a must visit for dinner!
Way overpriced, 8£ for 2 croquettes, 72£ for 600g of overcooked meat and 200g of fat and bones, another steakhouse in london that does not know how to cook a steak « blue »…No amazing flavor, no amazing quality, no justification for the price…Tiny place, extremely tight tables that cannot fit 2 plates in front of each other, does not deserve the rating its getting !Would not come back, would not recommend… stay away!To finish a a good note though, the staff was very nice.
Friendly staff were able to squeeze us in on a busy night. We had a few small plates and a glass of wine. It was all excellent especially the turbot head and collar!
Absolutely incredible meat... You have to wait a while for it to come out but it was absolutely banging. The confit potatoes, as well were insane. Lager and Rose were very strong also thoroughly recommended.
Absolutely fabulous place! A great combination of simplicity of ingredients with high end cooking. Feels like home and in the same way food is in a style of classy restaurant. I found this place to be of my type where amazing and perfect quality food served without too posh surrounding. Special thanks to the sommelier for perfect selection of wines.
Great restaurant - the meat is brilliant and the starters were very nice too. Rahul looked after us - very friendly and knowledgeable on their wines. The restaurant staff kindly gave us a table with a larger space next to it as I’d told them (when making the reservationthat we were coming with a pram. Not the cheapest restaurant but definitely one for a special occasion!
Great portions of food and its cooked really well. The service is excellent too
Amazing pork chop. Best confit potatoes. Not much else to say. All very good, even the service which is not the case everywhere.
Best food in London and a must for foodies! Its famous for meat dishes but I articularly love the fish and vegetarian dishes and desserts are a must! The menu changes every week that selects the best seasonal ingredients to come up with a creative menu. Not the cheapest but fair value for what you get. Great traditional victorian setting as well. Service is always great too. We also love the deli next door - they do great lunches for reasonable prices too. If youre looking for a smarter lunch then the restaurant does a well priced lunch menu. Wine selection is outstanding
I have been here 3 times, always a top culinary experience. Highly recommended.
Service was excellent. Good was amazing as well. The lamb was heavenly.
Amazing food. Nice venue and attentive staff. No complaimts. Will b going again
Finally got to go here and sample those confit potatoes! Really great food and wine list. Horrendously uncomfortable seats in the entrance area but put up with it due to the calibre of staff and food/drink. A couple of things that could do with slight improvement... most of the snacks require bread but dont come with it... thats a £5 extra which was disappointing. The agnolotti sounded great on paper but the reality did not match it and the pork chop did not have a lot of meat on it. Cod roe, steak tartare, lamb, liver parfait, curried hispi, confit potatoes outstanding. Desserts also very good. Accompanied by an excellent cava and bottle of zinfandel. You must go here!
Superb. Lovely staff, great service, *amazing food*, varied wine list. Menu focuses on good quality meat and seafood, but the vegetarian dishes were also really delicious in their own right. Nice little dessert selection too. 10/10
General good execution of food. Great sides, especially the potatoes. Steak high quality but ability to get sauce or smaller than 800g ribeye option would be great. Dessert options are unique (olive ice cream)
Absolutely loved our dinner here. The service was excellent and the food was phenomenal. Can’t recommend this enough! My favourites were the confit potatoes and the olive oil ice cream!
An institution. Laser focused on quality and service. Had an outstanding birthday dinner here.Bigac steak tartare, best fillet Ive ever had and olive oil ice cream. Well be back.
We booked a table for sunday at 12:00PM. The starter was served relatively quick, then the main came like 40 minutes after we finished the starter. Asked the server and got a “It’s gonna be ready in two minutes” then we waited another ten minutes or so. The knife for cutting meat was extremely blunt and the service was extremely SLOW. Food was mediocre at best.
Delicious and fresh food, eveything was well cooked. We had the mussels , pork chops with 15hr chips , and an amazing chocolate ganache with Clementine ice cream. What a winner combination!
Loved it. 12 years and still going I had wanted to visit this place for years and it didn’t disappoint. A 9pm booking, we arrived on time but had to wait as they were rammed. We were happy to wait and once sat in pew style benches, the waitress apologised. It took a while for our order to be taken but again, she was apologetic and offered us free cocktails which wasn’t expected but a nice touch of good service. The food was incredible with croquettes, beautiful bacon that melted in the mouth, perfectly cooked steak, pheasant and woodcock … paired with a delicious bottle of red. You can see why it’s lasted for so long.If you like your meat in a classic setting - go!
I was so looking forward to my order I placed with The Quality Chop house online. The delivery was great, no issue there, but I did order 2 pork pies, The pastry was clearly burnt, tasted burnt, the pie itself having cut off the pastry was brilliant. I did take a photo and send it to them explaining the burnt pastry, the reply was very less than gracious, I was told they are not burnt and that’s how they have been serving them for 10 years. Now, if you like the taste of burnt pastry I wouldn’t see it as an issue, but there is no way this is how there supposed to be. I wasn’t offered an apology or grace in the fact I thought this pastry was burnt. Other than that the sausage rolls are ludicrously expensive, and if I’m honest not great. Disappointed with the handling of the complaint, least acknowledge the fact.
This restaurant quickly became on my partners favorite place to go for lunch. We go there whenever we have guests visiting us from oversea and we always have a great time. Starters, main courses and deserts are all delicious and its a pleasure to try different things each time we go. Our most recent visit was a few weeks ago for lunch, and as always we enjoyed every second. The service is impeccable and the staff is very nice and friendly. I strongly recommend you try this restaurant.
We reserved the private dining room for a Sunday feast! Everything was perfect, starters, main, sides, and dessert… deliciousness from first to last bite! portions are very big, we brought home a lot of food. Service was also very good. Would recommend 100%!
Apologies for the terrible photos as theyre not represemta of the quality of food we had in the slightest!!Hands down one of the best gastronomical experiences Ive ever had in London. The interior is dark and intimate, perfect for a cost dinner amongst friends and family. I went with my little sister to celebrate her university admission and between the two of us we had four snacks, a main and of course, a chop, which is a must have. And the standard confit potatoes, which were the best spuds of my life. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, so if youre looking for recommendations, they are quick to help. Highly recommend!
Went for Sunday roast. The starter was great but the roast is barely cooked…I understand maybe that’s the way the chop cooked there but wish they could ask. The waitress has been trying to rush us too. The price is high too
One of the best steak I’ve had in my life! The meat just melted in my mouth! I would definitely recommend this place! I can’t wait to come back…
We had a fantastic meal the The Quality Chop House. From the moment we were greeted by Hannah (spwe requested to sit outside without a problem.Hannah was clear in her recommendations and explained what were the popular dishes. We started with the green fig, stracciatella, friggetella and honey salad. The dish was well balanced and provided a great start to the meal. While we didn’t request for the starter dish to come before the snack, it seemed they knew that it made sense to start with the lighter dish of the two we ordered. We followed this with the mangalitza and smoked eel black pudding with burnt apple purée. This was a strong flavour yet a dish with a variety textures. The small pieces of fat were amazingly tastyFor mains we had the mangalitza chops, succulent slices of fatty pig 🐖 cooked perfectly. And the black face lamb which was succulent and had a depth of flavour. We had a couple of glasses of wine too which went perfectly with the meal.Highly recommend this place if you love meat, quality service and great wine.
An excellent meal, topped off with with warm and attentive staff.✅ Lamb ribs✅ Smoked cod roe✅ Bone-in ribeye✅ Cofit potatoesA definite go-to and go-back-for-more!
The fried potatoes are the highlights. Hard and crispy shell. Must order! Mangalitza chop is very fat, didn’t expect that, but flavor is good. Asparagus starter is also good.
Have been many times, and never disappointed. Food is always interesting, varied, satisfying and seasonal. One of the only places I make sure to leave room for dessert.
Cant believe it took me so long to try this place out! We went for lunch and had a few snack/starter plates. Amazing flavours. Im still dreaming of the croquettes and confit potatoes. Staff are also really friendly, helpful, great service. Would recommend!
Today we 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 got here and it was everything we dreamed it would be. Not just the food, which was absolutely stunning but we were so well looked after by Ettie who served us with a smile that a mask couldn’t hide. The confit potatoes totally lived up to the hype as did the beef mince on dripping toast - just what the doctor ordered. Maybe. Not forgetting the treacle tart and olive oil ice cream combo - a knockout. Cocktails were fab, they had orange wine on the list and the shop next door was full to the brim with deliciousness. Love love love.
We had an amazing lunch at The Quality chop house. We wanted to order just the Quality Chop set lunch but we got clearly carried away 😄😄 we ordered three starters, the parmesan hash-cods roe snack and the short rib croquettes were absolutely fantastic. The cut of pork chop was absolutely delicious and the cornish ray was very good, just a little bit too salty for my taste. Overall a 5 stars plus experience!!!!
Wonderful shop for high quality veg, meats, oils, cheeses, breads, nearly everything really. Best butcher in London. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the staff during lockdown. Our at home meals have been elevated. In 2020 they expanded the produce selection 💯💯💯 highly recommend
From the moment we walked into The Quality Chop House we were at ease with the friendly staff greeting us and being super attentive (not overbearing! Our waiter had great knowledge of both food and drinks on the menu. Everything we ordered was incredible. The confit potatoes and olive oil ice-cream are both absolute must order! Thank you for such a wonderful experience, the staff were honestly amazing.
I don’t even like Yorkshire pudding but theirs was so good we ate it all. The grouse was perfectly cooked and the complements were good too. The pork was quite rare but very tasty. And the chocolate ice cream with olive oil was to die for. Wines were good and very value for money too.Service was excellent: accommodating, thoughtful and friendly.Definitely worth it!
