Botswana, Sesheke
Vast, eco-diverse park along the Chobe River, home to a huge elephant population & other big game.
I had an amazing experience at Chobe National Park in Botswana. Our tour guide from Holiday Africa safaris, by the name of Jacob was the best. Everything we wanted, he made sure we got it and more. Highly knowledgeable in his field and species in the forest. If I had a chance, I will choose the same company again. We saw the "cats" up close and personal with them. The Buffaloes, Elephants, Hippos, giraffes and the kudos and the antelope. A trip worth every penny
Many many elephants, buffaloes, giraffes and sometimes you see hippo/s out of the water. Chobe became one of the most memorable and special places to me.
Im always excited to bring my clients to Chobe National park. The game drives are hosted by the guest house/hotels own rangers and they know the park well. Their knowledge of wildlife and plants matches the splendour of the park and every game drive is worth it. Try and book the early morning game drive at 5.45am till about 9.30am and also try and do the afternoon game drive if you have some time as both experiences offer great viewing. There is also an option to do the river cruise along the chobe river, which will open your heart to happiness even more.
Felt like one of the best places to do a self drive safari with such a high density of animals particularly elephants. Beautiful scenery between green pastures and the river.
Got lucky enough to see a pride of lion after a number of trips to the Chobe national Park. Was worth it....
Beautiful place with amazing people. I had an unforgettable Elephant experience with my sister here.UNFORGETTABLE!!
Whoa
One single word : amazing !!!
The BEST national park i have ever visited! No 5 minutes without seeing animals,, abundance of wildlife. Elephants, hippos, girrafes, lions, crocs, buffalos.... Sometimes 3 - 4 of this at one spot... Absolutely incredible, highly highly recommend!!
Reflecting back on travel, what an amazing adventure. Safari, Cruise, wildlife, and Chobe Safari Lodge accommodations were above and beyond any expectations. Best memories.
Visited in 2018. Chobe is one of the busiest and most famous parks in Southern Africa, but its the abundant wildlife and ease of seeing it that makes it one of the best.
We can see a lot of wild animals, especially elephants. Others were hippopotamus, giraffe, Kudu, and so on.We visited there in Feb, 2020 by game drive from Zimbabwe. We were impressed by natural beauty and strength.
The most elephants Ive ever seen! We were surrounded by 5 herds of elephants and watched them frolic at a watering hole - and we were the only people present! Also the most giraffes Ive seen in one place! The more elusive game like lions and leopards remained elusive. But those elephants were a highlight of our 6 weeks in Africa! They really were the largest elephants!
My friend are I were able to do an overnight safari here are we were blown away. This has to be one of the greatest places to see animals in this area. Our guide Goms was knowledgeable and as excited to be part of these experiences as we were. We were able to experience elephants, lions, wilderbeast, giraffes, hippos, jackals, leopard, buzzards, and those cute cute maribu storks. We even took our tour in the rainy season and it was a blast! I would suggest this for anyone to visiting this area. immerse yourself.
Beautiful wildlife. Interesting and magnificent animals. I love not like love the scenery. One of the most beautiful places on earth 🌎
This was a fun safari my husband and I did on our honeymoon. If you want to see elephants then don’t miss this safari. We didn’t see the big 5 but tons and tons of elephants.
Best place to see elephants very very close. Not so great for other game.
One of the best places to enjoy the very best of African wilderness..
Great place to view wild life, beautiful place to learn and experience the beauty of Botswana, Chobe. You get to learn different species of both trees, birds and wild animals.
If you want to see wild elephant families, then this is definitely the national park to go.There are plenty of other animals (lions, buffalos etc.to see as well!
Three hours on the water was a blast!! We saw a lot of hippos and crocodiles!! Love this boat cruise!!
Best place to see wildlife in all of Africa. I did a two night camping trip with Kalahiri Tours and I strongly recommend them for anyone looking for a budget friendly and off the beaten track experience in Chobe National Park.
Simply stunning scenery and wildlife is numerous. This park is a must for anyone visiting Botswana, even if its just a day trip from Victoria Falls or Livingstone.
CHOBE NATIONAL PARK BOTWANA - Was our first Camping destination during our African Tour. This site was a pure nature of wide park with trees and wild animals. The Camping area was safe and guarded by helpful African Rangers. It means it is safe from the attack of wild animals during night time.
If you want to see the large numbers of elephant chobe national park is place to be
Ive done the two days one night trip with Puku Safaris and I can say that during my 22 days of southern Africa experience, those 2 days were the most unforgettable ever. I saw Leopard, Lions, Zebras, Giraffes, Hipos, Crocolides, dozens of impalas, kudos, pumbas, baboons and of course, many many elephants. The camp is something that left me with no words! My tent had two extremely comfy double beds, carpet, lights and a proper toilet-seat in the back!! The food prepared by them is also unbelievably tasty, considering that we were in the middle of nowhere...All the facilities were just perfect! They do a great job and it’s crazy to imagine that once they leave the camp, they gather and organise everything very fast, properly and the only things left are their footprints. It is the best, most complete and best-price fore sure! I highly recommended Puku Safari! The best of the best! Beyond expectations! Fantastic!
We did a boat tour of the Chobe National Park in Botswana as part of our August 2009 Trip. It was such an amazing place and we must have seen hundreds upon hundreds of wild animals. We got up close and personal with some of the buffalo and giraffes and saw a mega herd of elephants in the distance. Chobe National Park is in northern Botswana near the vast, inland Okavango Delta. Its known for its large herds of elephants and Cape buffalo, which converge along the Chobe Riverfront in the dry months. Lions, antelopes and hippos inhabit the woods and lagoons around Linyanti Marsh. The floodable grasslands of the Savuti Marsh attract numerous bird species, plus migrating zebras. It was the tripe of a lifetime and we highly recommend a visit.
Really amazing place. Took a safari here, and saw many animals up-close (some coming right up to our vehicleincluding elephants, giraffes, antelope, hippos, buffalo, crocodiles, and colorful birds. Recommend very much, though it can get pretty warm, even in the winter, so bring sunscreen and water!
The gateway to Chobe is Kasane. A small town sandwiched between the Zimbabwe, Zambia and Namibian borders and the Chobe National Park. Accommodation varies from campsites, wild camping to a private lodge in private concessions. Kasane offers hotels, tented camps and luxury lodge accommodations. You can select your accommodation or camping sites according to your interest and level of comfort. Chobe National Park is a true wildlife paradise and one of the best national parks in Southern Africa.Camping in Chobe is an authentic wilderness experience. The public campsites offer ablutions. All camps are unfenced and open to wildlife roaming free through your campground. Chobe National Park attracts many visitors, and we suggest that you plan your visit well in advance. The location of the park is next to the Chobe River. The natural environment of the park allows for excellent photographic experiences. Select your interests and let our Team assist in your travel arrangements.
Amazing place to visit. Very hot in summer
Remarkable experience across the river with the boat tour.

We did a boat tour of the Chobe National Park in Botswana as part of our August 2013 Anniversary Trip. It was such an amazing place and we must have seen hundreds upon hundreds of wild animals. Did a morning river cruise thru Chobe National park. Saw elephants, crocodiles. giraffes, hippos, impalas, cape buffalos, kudus and lots of birds. In the afternoon, we did a land game drive seeing basically the same animals from a different view point.
We saw wild dogs, leopards, elephants, hippos, kudus, lions, giraffes, crocodiles and a lot of birds with our amazing day guide Vincent from Tony mobile Safari.Only 4 stars as there are no rhinos 🦏 in Chobe anymore. I was glad that our guide didnt follow the million other cars in the NP.
Mother Africa certainly showed us the beauty it has to offer.Chobe National Park is BEAUTIFUL.This national park didnt have much traffic so it was nice and quiet. We got extreamly close to the animals. We saw a pride of Lions hunting for their dinner,Herds of Elephantszazu and pumbaaa tower of giraffesA cackle of hyenasA bloat of hipposA dazel of zebrasA herd of impalaA bask of crocodilesA flock of birdsA group of reptiles plus many many more living wildlife. We also did the river cruise.Another way to explore this beautu from a different angle.Their are areas where you can set up Camp for the night. We could hear the animals walking in the distance from our tents. Was so nice listening to all the different sounds of the animals before drifting off to dreamland. Our local guards told us a cheetah visited and walked through our camp while we were all sound asleep.I cannot praise Chobe National Park enough for it pure beauty.Such a fantastic introduction to mama Africa.
we did the three hour game drive. it was very cool as it was along the river. we saw hippos, crocodiles, warthogs, giraffes, kudu, impala, and elephants. you can opt to do a river cruise safari too.
Best place to see wildlife around Botswana many animals and birds youll see in this safari and in cruise safari youll see animals in bulk. And their hotel is also well maintained and hygienic with good interior. Loved my stay.
We had great wildlife views in Chobe, including a pride of lions feasting on a buffalo. The proximity of the Chobe River on one side is nice because it allows for river boat viewing rides. We saw plenty from the river as well, and it is more peaceful and less crowded than bumping along in dusty vehicles.
I went here on a day trip from Victoria Falls. In the morning we went on a boat safari and saw elephants swimming! In the afternoon, we took a game drive and saw huge giraffes and more elephants. The scenery is beautiful. It was well worth the effort.
Great National park. Did a 3 hour game drive and got to see so much!! A heard of elephants surrounding us at one stage and were playing in the mud to keep cool, even the baby one. Something to remember
Visited the park 8 times from 6th to 9th August 2017 - in a safari jeep and boat cruise. We saw elephants, hippos, lions, giraffe and many antelope species as well as birds. This is a natures gift to humanity!
We were recommended to visit Chobe N.P.whilst on a tour of South Africa. We went there on a day trip from victoria falls .In the morning we travelled in a jeep along sandy tracks and we saw lots of wildlife .We went in May and it was very quiet on the jeep and I didnt feel we were an intrusion to the animals. In the afternoon we had a tranquil cruise on the river and we were able to get really close to hippos ,elephants ,crocodiles and bird life .It was an AMAZING experience I would thoroughly recommend to others to experience .
Our visit to the Chobe Game Reserve only lasted three days, not nearly long enough! We were treated to daily encounters with lions, leopards, hippos, elephants, and more, thanks to our expert guide, Tshidi. She was utterly amazing--her knowledge and expertise opened up the doors to a true encounter with nature. The lodge was wonderful as well--the food was delicious, our room was luxurious. I was treated to a wonderful birthday surprise as well. I just cant say enough about this place. Not only did we have twice daily game drives, but also got to go out on river cruises twice! Go to Chobe! You will love it.
I totally recommend to go with a ferry at sunset time and you can spend the time on top of the ferry and watch the beautiful sky and animals, simply stunning
Safe your money. Park is overruned by safari trucks. Its slowly but steadily destroyed with too many tourists. Many times there are traffic jams and you sit in the dust. If you like photography with safari trucks in your pictures, this is your place.
We stayed in Victoria Falls several days in Mid October and one of the days went for a boat safari in the morning and game safari in the afternoon. We could encounter many kinds of wild animals around the river as it was during the dry season. You should be careful about travel agents that sell the tour. They give different prices to their customers even in the same hotel!
If you want to see elephants in Southern Africa, to Chobe you will go. This park is spectacular in the dry season as well as the rainy season. From the wooded forest to the river floodplains, its always easy to spot hippos, buffalo and giraffe in this park. Youre also not too far from Kasane, the town where most lodging and accommodation is located. Highly recommend this to anyone traveling to Botswana (and Southern Africa, in general!)
I went one a day tour from Victoria falls and saw over 1000 elephants, lots of crocodiles, antelope and scarily close to many hippos. Best safari ever. Other safari tours I have been on hasnt come close and that includes 3 trips to Kruger park.
