Cho Cho San Noodle House in Nanuet
Description
Privilege
Mediocre food at best, and the different prices listed on their web site and on their in-house menu. The difference for two dishes, Shanghai Spring Rolls and General Tsos Chicken, was $5. When I pointed this out to a server, she was trying to explain to me the difference between "Google" listed prices and "I dont know what" listed prices. To make this even more bizarre, the receipt says the following under the total line:THANK YOU VERY MUCH.Please be advised all items have 2 prices. a Cash price and a Card price. Pay with Cash and save 3.5%.I dont think I will be going back.
MoreWe were trying to decide to between this place and another place in Tarrytown. We decided to go here and after $400 we left rather disappointed. My party was left confused as to why this restaurant has such a high rating.Pros :Wine was okay.Service was pretty good. The staff was very friendly. The hostess was a sweetheart. The busboys made sure we were never thirsty (for water), and our waitress was nice. All of our kitchen appetizers were hot. This was a redeeming factor. The chicken lettuce wraps were delicious. And the yellowtail jalapeño app was also a hit.Im not a sushi eater, but the rest of my party sang praises for the sushi. Biggest complaint was that the spicy tuna wasnt spicy. Rolls ordered were the Atlantic, rainbow roll, lobster roll and spicy yellowtail.Cons:The lychee martini was dreadful, do NOT recommend. We ordered an assortment of appetizers like the Shumai, goyzas, avocado bombs. The dough on the shumai and goyzas was over steamed and too mushy for enjoyment, but the dipping sauce is amazing. The avocado bomb lacked flavor. My hibachi was awful. Unfortunately I wasnt able to enjoy the hibachi experience as they were booked, but my food was not good. No flavor at all, cold, and overcooked.Dessert:The mochi was gross and the fried cheesecake was soggy on the outside and frozen solid on the inside, but atleast the ice cream was good.We are big foodies and this was quite a disappointment.
MoreOur friends recommend us to come to Cho Cho San Noodles & it was amazing. The food was so delicious, authentic & fresh. The service was super friendly, attentive & accommodating. We can not wait to come back. We highly recommend Cho Cho San Noodle Shop.
MoreLOVE this placeThe soup dumplings are to die for
Delicious soup and appetizers. First time coming here and will be sure to be back.
MoreThe worst tasting take out. Everything was sour and nothing was freshly made. I will never order from them again!
MoreSet up our own table, took our own utensils after 30 mins wait while the tables were available for 10, Waiting for another 1 hour and half to get all the noodle dishes, the whole meals took us 3 hours. Got there at 7:15 left after 10pm.
MoreThis is the only time in my life that we, the customer, had to set up the table, pull the chairs, get table ware on our own, wait for an hour for noodles then the bill came with 20% service fee charged… … 10 of us, 5 grownups and 5 kids (all under 10arrived at 7:15 at the noodle place today August 7th. The entire middle row was unoccupied and we need 2 of the 3 tables to be put together. The hostess just let us stand at the front. After 15 min, I offered to put the tables and chairs ourselves. We got the permission. We finally sat down and ordered. No one ever told us the wait for noodles here is a whole hour. And 5 kids under 10 yelling hungry apparently did not mean anything to anyone at this place. And when the food eventually came, no one even had given us plates. So I got up and took the clean plates and chopsticks at the bar. Just as I was telling my party that I would not give a tip, the bill came with 20% service fee charged! This is our first time here. My party picked this place only because the kids wanted ramen and it is on our way home. Unless we need waiter or waitress jobs, I guess none of us is coming here again.
MoreReally unimpressed. We waited far too long for an order of dim sum and a few pieces of sushi. Sunday evening at 8pm. Every table was full within minutes of us entering at about 7ish pm.
MoreSo far the Malaysian spicy ramen is my favorite from their noodle dishes. The tonkatsu ramen is pretty good too but the flavor is not as memorable. The tuna tacos are really crispy and tasty. The bao buns and shumai were also good and we would order those again, too.The inside is clean and modern.
MoreHeard so many great things about the food. I must say the crispy chicken dumplings were tasty however the seafood pancake had no flavor. Ordered the mango chicken it was big chunks of peppers and slabs of mango with absolutely no sauce. Got house special fried rice - tasteless. The spicy miso ramen was good. In my opinion way overpriced with mediocre food. Will never come here again.
MoreWent here a couple of weeks ago, the Peking duck noodle soup was amazing.
We went here last weekend with a small group of friends. The presentation and food was very good as were the cocktails. The atmosphere is very lively and family friendly. Given the level of energy, it may not be ideal for a quiet evening meal but for a group of friends it was perfect. I will definitely return.
MoreGreat food and great service. I like the basic more vegetarian options. The miso soup was tasty, the avocado salad was very generous with the avocado and quitefresh! My vegetable rolls were very good. The service was just about right as I was dining alone and I didnt want to get served everything at once or be served too slowly. The seating is very comfortable and the dining area is clean and attractive.
MoreDefinitely the worst food ever. I can hardly finish 1/4 of the food and it was the first time in my life I did not ask for a to go box. Worst!
MoreNice portions and delicious food. Love the appetizers. They were doing a lot of take-out orders as we were eating.
MoreThe Shanghai soup dumplings and Pho are really well done. Thank you so much for the incredible dining experience.
MoreThey food may be good but the service is horrible. On three separate occasions I waited over an hour for my food the third time it hit an hour and a half and I finally walked out. Will not be returning…
MoreAbsolutely delicious food everytime I go.
Hubby loved the General Tsao Chicken. The Duck Noodle Soup was clean and ok. Had more flavorful ones before but it was clean (not too greasy).Would like to try their dim sum.
MoreI bring My Family to this place The food Exelence also the server/ Waiters very profesional.Very simple Question for the Owner or the management for additional 4 % for pay the debit or credit card???? Also you try push the Custumer pay cash will discount 4% ? Wow very clever. This is the right thing?See the photo.
MoreNice selection of ramen, Udon, Pho other noodle soups.
Great dessert choices. There is one server in there that is so friendly its worth visiting. Food is not out of this world. The noodles are kind of saggy for a noodle house...maybe thats how Malaysian noodles supposed to be in comparison to Japanese & Korean or even Philippine.
MoreFood was amazing! Servers are very friendly! They have a deep understanding of the menu and offer great replacements for any food allergies or preference to your food. The drinks are delicious, a little expensive but expected to be.
MoreAbsolutely love this place! Staff is super friendly and energetic. They take care of allergy needs as well which is so important. Very clean restaurant. Would definitely recommend this spot to any family, couple or individual looking for a good meal😃!!
MoreGood to come if you need something quick to eat!
The freshest Asian/Chinese food in the Rockland Co and Bergen Co area Ive had. The service is very attentive. Their sister restaurant ChoCho San Sushi and Hibachi is also delicious and very good quality food. Local, fairly priced, and friendly service. Perfect spot to enjoy a local night out.
MoreIt was a great experience. The restaurant was clean and stylish. Outside looks is not great with the sign so it was a nice surprise. Everything was good but Korean pancake and dim sum were amazing! Ramen with ribs were bit wired. I wish they can put chashu ( thinly sliced pork instead. Roast duck needs a little improvement. Only duck pieces with bukcoy over rice is too simple for $18. Veriety icecream dessert was nice and price was good, too. Ill come back to try more!
MoreFirst time trying this place I loved it. Definitely have to go back and try other dishes.
MoreWe love going to this little noodle restaurant. The flavors are really good in their ramen noodles. I especially like the spicy Malaysian soup.I mean to try other dishes but always end up getting the same thing.
MoreThe food was amazing, the service was friendly and helpful! I loved the fish tank! The spicy ramen was perfect!!!! So so delicious! So excited to see there was a laundromat next door definitely going there for lunch and laundry soon!!!
MoreI was eating here a couple days ago. My experience here was very unpleasant. I ordered a Malaysian shrimp broth noodle and the shrimp was not fresh and seemed to have a smell: as if it was lying there for many weeks. My friend who ate there once told me that she also had a bad experience and saw mice and roaches crawling around while she was eating. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY YOUR MEAL WITHOUT FEELING DISGUSTED. Truly do not recommend! Take your business elsewhere. There are many other great locations nearby that are so much better for the price you pay. I would give it 0 stars if I could.
MoreVery delicious and great service. I had shumai lovely hot and fresh. Best kimchi fries rice.
MoreWell this place is just freaking awesome! Its definitely the service that has me and my family head over heels. Food was cooked perfectly and the cook had a great sense of humor. It wasnt your usual Habachi show which was great. They really do a great job so I highly recommend this spot 100%. There is also a full bar which cought us all by surprise.Service: 10/10Food: 10/10Cleanliness:10/10Cost: $$$ (so freaking worth it)
MoreA cozy spot with a very friendly staff, good noodle soups, and a great lunch special.
MoreGreat selection of noodle soups. I had Malaysian with shrimp, delicious. Will return to try others. See pic.
MoreIt is a small great place for great food. The service was great as well.
Fantastic food! Everything is good including ramen, soup dumpling and buns.
Inviting atmosphere fried ice cream for dessert a must they also have a delicious noodle store for takeout worth the drive a nice place for special occasion wonderful first date atmosphere good bar selection
MoreDelicious food and friendly service at a very fair price. Food came out fresh and hot. I loved the soup dumplings! Would be 4.5 stars if I could but the rating system wont allow it. The ramen is also very good. A must if you are in the area. One of my more recent favorite Asian restaurants.
MoreSpicy Miso Ramen Soup - WOWBeef Negomaki with scallion - ExcellentDiamond sushi roll with 3 types of caviar - Excellent.Service: very good (recommended the Spicy miso soup..)Affordable, recommended.
MoreFor all you can eat, the service is VERY SLOW even when serving only 3 tables.Sushi quality VERY inconsistent. Some sushi will have CRAZY amount of rice and then the next one will have a delicate amount and taste perfect.Rolls are usually good unless they put too much batter on fried items.Fish seems fine, appetizers are pretty good.Nothing crazy good but a good all you can eat Sushi place.
MoreThis was a great travel stop. The staff was very friendly and informative. And soup dumplings under the dim sum section were amazing. And the atmosphere was also very charming, the place was very clean. They had this cool “umbrella” decor on the ceiling made of chili peppers. Would definitely visit again.
MoreI have been going there for more then two years. Nice staff and nice sushi overall.
MoreGreat food and service is so nice! Very clean place as well.
Great dumplings and noodles for a fair price, with a bit of a wait on a busy Friday night. Came here on a Friday around 7 and was seated immediately, but the dinner rush combined with takeout orders made the service a little slow. However the wait staff was so friendly we didnt mind. We ordered the dumpling sampler and they were all delicious, only $8 for 6 dumplings. We also had the duck noodles and shoyu udon soup, and had plenty to take home even with scarfing down what we could. Great for a simple night out with friends or spouse.
MoreOnly been here for Hibachi and sushi so I cannot speak to anything else. What we have ordered has been great. The hibachi chefs are engaging and the kids are entertained. Food is pretty good, rolls not too small or too big. Clean dining areas and restrooms. Parking is limited so if its a crowded night you might wait for a spot.
MoreGreat foodNice place.Kind people. And above all they do smile allot.
An awesome and delicious and fun experience in a wonderfully fun and clean atmosphere! The entire staff from the moment you walk in is welcoming and smiling and out Hibachi Table Master Chef was just excellent and a world of fun and laughter and comfort. The food was off the hook and drinks excellent and the price was well worth the large portion size.Cant say enough about the fun time and will be back many more times for sure.A great place - A great time guaranteed.
MoreCho Cho San is a great Sushi restaurant! Not only myself, but my family, friends and any other person I tell, go there, and love it. The staff is friendly and the wait is not very long, even when they are very busy. The food presentation is pleasant to examine and it tastes delicious. No issues or concerns from CCS...
