Stayed in Hermitage Hotel, they offered a complete day packages, quality service from guides, hotel crew and safaris. For improvement, I hope the mother elephants in breeding center are no longer chained so they can move around in the fence. And awareness in the community not throwing garbage in the river, to preserve their national treasure for the next generation.
Chitwan National Park is situated in south central Nepal in the sub tropical lowlands of the inner terai of Chitwan, Makawanpur, Parsa and Nawalparasi districts. It lies between 27ยฐ16.56โ- 27ยฐ42.14โ Latitudes and 83ยฐ50.23โ-84ยฐ46.25โ Longitudes. The altitude ranges from 110m to 850m above sea level. The park is bounded by the Rapti and Narayani River in the north, Parsa Wildlife Reserve in the east and Madi settlements and India border in the south. The physiography of the park consists of the Terai and Siwaliks. Three major rivers Narayani, Rapti and Reu, and their floodplains; and several lakes and pools are the major water sources of the park.Being the first protected area of Nepal, it has a long history of over three decades in park management and rich experiences in nature conservation. Chitwan was a big game area for the royal families, Rana rulers and their guests. The area comprising the Tikauli forest from Rapti River to the foothills of the Mahabharat extending over an area of 175 km2 was declared as Mahendra Deer Park in 1959. The area south of the Rapti River was demarcated as a Rhino Sanctuary in 1963. It was proclaimed as Royal Chitwan National Park with an area of 932 km2 in 1973. After the peoplesโ revolution in 2006, the parkโs name was changed to Chitwan National Park.In recognition of its unique biological resources of outstanding universal value, UNESCO designated CNP as a World Heritage Site in 1984. In 1996, an area of 750 km2 surrounding the park was declared a buffer zone, which consists of forests and private lands including cultivated lands. The buffer zone contains a Ramsar Site โ Beeshazari Lakes. The park and the local people jointly initiate community development activities and manage natural resources in the buffer zone. The government of Nepal has made a provision of plowing back 30-50 percent of the park revenue for community development in the buffer zoneThe park has a range of climatic seasons each offering unique experience. October through February with average temperature of 25๏ฐC offers an enjoyable climate. From March to June temperatures can reach as high as 43*C. The hot humid days give way to the monsoon season that typically lasts from late June until September when rivers become flooded and most of the roads are virtually impassable. Mean annual rainfall of the park has been recorded 2150mm.In late January, local villagers are allowed to cut thatch grasses to meet their needs, which offer a better viewing of wildlife to visitors. Also, between September and November, and February and April, migratory birds join the residential birds and create spectacular bird watching opportunities. While the monsoon rains bring lush vegetation, most trees flower in late winter. The palash tree, known as the "flame of the forest", and silk cotton tree have spectacular crimson flowers that can be seen from a distance.
more than a natural park. It is a fair full of tourists and constant noise from jeeps and people walking around making noise. welcome to disneychitawanIt is curious that you see the animals more easily outside the park and the mistreated elephants.
The Chitwan National Park offers a variety of flora and fauna. Do not miss the jeep safari and especially the elephant safari. We were lucky to see a few rhinos, Gharial crocodiles, peacock, wild bore, spotted deer, buck deer, and lots of amazing colourful birds.

An amazing national park! Beautiful rivers, lakes, forests and plenty of wildlife to see. There were lots of elephants, some being looked after, some wild and some being used for elephant rides. The rhinos were fantastic, as well as the water buffalo. We even managed to catch a glimpse of a sloth bear. The safari was simply amazing and a great choice, as it was a great way to see more of the national park. I would highly recommend going on safari in Chitwan if you are visiting Nepal.

Nestled at the foot of the Himalayas, Chitwan has a particularly rich flora and fauna and is home to one of the last populations of single-horned Asiatic rhinoceros and is also one of the last refuges of the Bengal Tiger. Chitwan National Park (CNP), established in 1973, was Nepalโs first National Park. Located in the Southern Central Terai of Nepal, it formerly extended over the foothills, the property covers an area of 93,200 hectares, extends over four districts: Chitwan, Nawalparasi, Parsa and Makwanpur. The park is the last surviving example of the natural ecosystems of the โTeraiโ region and covers subtropical lowland, wedged between two east-west river valleys at the base of the Siwalik range of the outer Himalayas. The core area lies between the Narayani (Gandakand Rapti rivers to the north and the Reu River and Nepal-India international border in the south, over the Sumeswar and Churia hills, and from the Dawney hills west of the Narayani, and borders with Parsa Wildlife Reserve to the east. In 1996, an area of 75,000 hectares consisting of forests and private lands and surrounding the park was declared as a buffer zone. In 2003, Beeshazar and associated lakes within the buffer zone were designated as a wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention.

Lots of wildlife are here like the Royal Bengal tiger. It is famous for Bird watching too. We can access the park through the jeep safari. You will never regret the visit.
At the foot of the Himalayas, Chitwan is one of the few remaining undisturbed vestiges of the Terai region, which formerly extended over the foothills of India and Nepal. It has a particularly rich flora and fauna. One of the last populations of single-horned Asiatic rhinoceros lives in the park, which is also one of the last refuges of the Bengal tiger.
The best place of Chitwan and I think of Nepal too. The place where One-horned Rhino ๐ฆ can be seen.Very beautiful & peace place.Worldwidely famous place. The home of all the Wildlife.
A great place for weekends. Chitwan national park is home to many engaged animals such as the one-horned Rhino, royal bengal toger, ghariyal crocodile and fresh water gang Eric dolphin. A must visit place not that expensive too. Highly recommended
A must visit place in a lifetime. It is guarantee that one can see one horned rhino(Gainda), a very rare wild animal and Bengal tiger if lucky enough in jungle safari.
Just sort of words to describe how amazing this place is. If you want an experience of wildlife, this has got to be on your bucket list. The best season to visit is March, April and May. That is when you expect to see a lot of wildlife in front of you. But dont worry if you are planning it sometime else. I clicked these pictures around January, so yeah its just as good but the only downside is you get to see less animals as compared to the seasonal period.P.S: DO NOT miss Jungle Safari and Boating!!
Glimpses of different animals including elephant, deer, alligators, monkey, birds, and many more during jungle safari. It is one of the best places for jungle safari, sightseeing and adventurous tour. It is the promised land for nature lovers.

Chitwan National Park is just awesome. I recommend every one of you to visit this place once. The park is really famous for one-horned rhinoceros you should probably see it. There are a lot of flora and fauna you will just love it. The gharial crocodiles are also its main attraction, very rare species of Nepal. The park is also famous for Royal Bengal Tiger and bears. You will feel very blessed to see a Royal Bengal tiger with you own eyes its so amusing, really dangerous and just fabulous ๐๐๐ after all it is just amusing place to visit.
This place is the home for many creatures, specially elephants, unicorns, tigers and many birds species. Ohh yes and a lot of crocodiles. It is all there without cage, just free as you are! Take your jungle ride with a safari car for 4 hours inside and discover the nature, very beautiful and dont forget to take a trip on the river inside :-)
The jungle is beautiful. You can rarely find elephants or tigers. Most of the time all you can see is deers, birds, crocodiles.. elephant safari here is too costly. 2200 INR per person. Jeap safari is enjoyable. This is cheap. Do early morning safaris. Weather is cold at morning. Mild hot at day time. Youll get guide for each jeap. There is 12 seater jeap as well as 16 seater jeap. You can book asper your need.
Awesome place for nature lovers... Great park... Must visit this place.... Jungle safari and canoeing experience was so amazing... Jungle safari via jeep or elephant at reasonable price... Great place for tourists and visitors... Nice hotels and restaurants nearby to stay... Great place for canoeing and jungle safari... Nature lovers must visit this place... Nice place to visit alone or with friends.. I will definitely visit this place again..
Beautiful park. We explored the park in different ways. We had a boat ride and saw a lot of beautiful birds, crocodiles and boars. When we explored in the afternoon by jeep we saw 1 rhino, birds and peacocks. But the most luck we had was in the early morning when we explored with 2 rangers. We saw elephants, rhinos, boars, deer. It was so peaceful. We also walked past some abandoned lodges.
Lovely place to visit if you are a wild life lover. Also recommended is your stay in Barahi Jungle Lodge. Not only itโs hospitality, food, architecture and ambience are great but also itโs plastic free. Imagine. Itโs true.
Great place.Has a lot of tourists but administration and local people have still managed to preserve the beauty and natural attractions of the place.Did a canoe ride here. It was an amazing experience. Very calm and soothing. Saw many birds and crocodiles and alligators. Got lucky to see the one horned rhinoceros (the reason this place is famouscrossing the river right in front of us!Didnt do the jeep ride because you get to do it in almost all the conserved areas. Also, pollution (both sound and airis not good for these areas and the animals in it.One major attraction of this place and probably the only conserved area with it, is the jungle walk which is done here. Would recommend that.
Some friends and I did a full day safari and it was excellent. We saw many animal including: tiger, wild elephant, sloth bear, great hornbill, 4 kinds of deer, rhino and many more. I would definitely recommend it for anyone.
This is the best place for jungle outing, we had a great fun at the place.we enjoyed elephant safari seating on the back of elephant and roaming around a jungle for 2 hours.we also saw wild animals and it was a real great experience and worthy too, we can never enjoy this kind of adventure in jeep safari and I bet that
Decent park, great wildlife if stumbled upon, there is litter unfortunately, but otherwise a good place to visit. Could use some upgrades in certain areas which I personally think would put it back as a top spot to visit in Nepal.
