Typical China Town. Some good stops. Check out if you are in the area.
It was a beautiful and the people was extremely nice. I was only there for an hour but I had a great time.
MoreI grew up in Boston but have a lot of friends of Asian decent. Every now and then we link up and go out to breakfast in Chinatown and Chinatown Gate is a must visit. It comes to life with the city.
MoreInside Chinatown in Boston. On Sun, it is a lively place bursting with visitors to restaurants, shops, markets.
MoreNice gate to a fantastic Chinatown area. Great shops for souvineers, household items, baked goods, bubble tea, and authentic food. I highly recommend walking around and exploring.
MoreSuper underrated place in Boston. Amazing food. Great people. 10 out of 10 0
Good Experience to bring Family for A Walk on a Nice Evening.. You will feel like walking in some part of China :)
MoreBeautiful experience, great tourist stop, if even just to walk around. Obviously incredible food and boba tea is a plus!
MoreI go there almost every day. I cant say anything bad about Chinatown Boston. Its all around friendly. I am going there today so I will take pictures.
MoreIt was pretty but there were a lot of drunk people in the area acting dangerously. I felt on edge the whole time, especially when cries of "help" were heard in the neighborhood
MoreWe were in town for a small getaway from CT for the weekend.Never been to Chinatown prior. Let me say, its different than NYC canal st Chinatown.Very much controlled, cleaner, and it made much more logical tradition wise and heritage wise. The Chinatown gate is a amazing feature and represents a great story.Definitely worth checking out.
MoreAm love china town. Is 🙂 to take some dinner around. Chinese food near
In the summer they have a lion dance that happens at noon on Sundays. It was quite an entertaining thing to watch.
MoreAwesome a great place to learn about the Chinese culture and Education I rate a 5 star great place for family Education
MoreIt was my first time in Boston and decided to see Chinatown, surprisingly it was small place, we were looking for gift shops, but barely find one shop, but they have lots of restaurants with authentic Chinese food.
MoreIt’s a very emblematic place where the Chinese people meet for play their own games and talk.
MoreI loved its like going to China without getting on the plane beautiful atmosphere my kids enjoyed will be back 🥰
MoreBeautiful gate with excellent guardians. Its a great landmark to visit for its own sake.
MoreLike other Chinatowns, Boston Chinatown offers good authentic Chinese cuisines, bakery, Chinese grocery stores, Asian centric liquor store, nicknacks and etc. Can be an interesting place to visit and I wish it was cleaner both the streets and restaurants. The Chinatown Gate is a unique structure and the open public space is a welcome change to most cramped Chinatowns.
MoreIconic Chinatown gate to beautifully preserved culture captured through top-notch Chinese cafes, restaurants, street food, and markets. The street is made for walking and there are public places reserved for outdoor seating. A must-see in Boston
MoreGood Area to walk there
amazing area, variety food selection!
Boston is the twin town of Taipei, so they hung Taiwanese national flag on the gate! I was surprised to see Taiwanese national flag here. But being a Taiwanese, I’m happy tho! The Chinese food in Chinatown is okay. I will recommend Hong Kong food here!
MoreGreat place for a photo opportunity. Keeping this real, this place is on the edge of boston Chinatown. So, if you ever visit Boston Chinatown, you need to drop by this awesome gate for a quick selfie. This gate is also a hangout and meeting place for asian senior citizens, not sure why, but it exude a life force energy, like a hot green tea on a cold winter night. If I didnt know anything better, I would think the meridian line of life runs through this gate. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and meditate.
MoreEhhh with the very few choices for a late night place to eat we chose "ChinaTown Gate" decent waiting time if you want to sit in and eat. To go orders come out in about 10 min. I ordered "kung pow chicken" and "pork fried rice" both were pretty basic. Not bad but not great
MoreThe place is full with nice Chinese, Japanese & Korean restaurants, whenever you go to eat its great. They serve good authentic food in a fair price. Now Days its better to take it outside find a nice place in the gardens around and take a bite
MoreThank you for still standing here and telling the world that the real democracy and freedom of the Chinese nation still exist
MoreI have been here so many times. I still love the food and the culture of the Asian American in China town.
MoreCompact yet its got everything you may want. Restaurants, herbal stores, dired goods, and bakeries.
MoreChinatown is full of great restaurants that are delicious and cheap. Explore to find hidden gems!
MoreAsian culture has always been present in many of the major cities across the United States. Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Boston are all some of the most prevalent examples. The Chinatown Gate is the entrance to a downtown area seeped in rich Asian culture. From the food, to trinkets, to theatrical performances and even the Church of Korea, you will find something from nearly every corner of Asia here. I will say, during the weekends this particular area of Downtown Boston is crazy! People flock in from the nearby subway stations, taxis, by foot, and by bike so take pictures of this gateway so be warned! Otherwise, definitely enjoy this homage to the eastern world.
MoreLots of places to eat. If you are looking for a fun Chinatown experience, the one in Boston is great.
More76 degrees, cool breeze, sunshine! Not too busy for a Sunday! Many people wearing 😷 masks!
MoreBostons Chinatown was very photogenic. A must see when in town. You want authentic? Well, this area has it!
MoreAlways nice to go to my favorite bakery in Chinatown!
I wouldnt make a trip just to see the gate itself, but if you go through it into Chinatown, there are many great shops to get food and unique/culturally specific items
MoreEntry gate to Chinatown, fun and touristy. On the day we visited they had great free shows in front of the gate with local artists.
MoreStart your walk through China town off with the gate where there are always crowds of locals. After entering on your left is a large outdoor seating area where the locals from Asia are playing card games and conversing
MoreThe gate was definitely cool to see. Fun area! Always interesting to see how Chinatowns in different cities carry such unique and authentic feels in their own way.
MoreCool. They also had some Taiwan flags! Go Taiwan! Taiwan! Taiwan!
Great to experience this place. The kids loved it.
Interesting to see this part of the city rejuvenate and become a destination. Lot of restaurants, and some interesting architecture. Small park where many from the community congregate to play cards and checkers. Still a bit marginal as a neighborhood
MoreStopped in to a bakery/restaurant and I loved being around another culture and hearing people around me speaking other languages. Felt like I was not in Boston anymore but in a foreign country. Chinatown is an enjoyable small walk.
MoreGood place to walk around and explore
Not as big as New Yorks Chinatown but when in Boston its a nice place to visit to grab some authentic Asian food.
MoreIve visited many Chinatowns in major cities across the U.S. and they usually have some Chinese looking gate structure marking the entrance to the Chinatown area. The Boston Chinatowns gate is unique in that there is no actual vehicular traffic flowing through the gate, making the gate really easy (and safefor tourists to take photos. The only confusing part for me is the signage around the gate. Given the tense relationship between Taiwan and China, it was weird to see both simplified and traditional Chinese banners and both set of flags hung around the gate.
MoreA recognizable city landmark. A must see when visiting the city. Many great eateries nearby, so many delicious options. Always something to see and do nearby. Nearby to the Common and Theater districts. Accessible by T.
MoreChinatown was a nice walk through the financial district from my hotel. There were so many wonderful places to eat and bakeries to take away some for later. Everyone was super friendly. Do yourself a favor- don’t be shy about ducking into a little “hole in the wall” establishment. You’ll discover some great food, drink, and more importantly, great people.
MoreBeautiful historic entrance to Chinatown! Fortunate enough to visit on Chinese New Year of the Dog. A number of street vendors, parks, playground and tables for groups playing cards, etc.
